冠词

冠词包括不定冠词a,an和定冠词the,他们都是虚词，不能独立使用，通常放在名词前面。

一、不定冠词a,an的基本用法

1、不定冠词a,an用于可数名词单数前面，表示一类人或事物中的“一个”，但不强调数量

（如强调数量，则用one）。不定冠词a,用在以辅音开头的词前，an放在元音开头的单词前

面。

例如：an umbrella, an elephant, an old man/photo, an hour, an honest boy, an interesting lesson, an apple/animal, an orange, an America/Australian boy, an English school

2、用于第一次提到的人或事物以及泛指的单数可数名词前。

3、用于某些固定词组，如have a good time, a lot of, have a look/rest, take a walk。

二、定冠词the的基本用法（一定要用the）

1、特指某人、某物。如： Can you hear the boy?

2、上下文提到的人或物。如：There is a monkey in the tree. The monkey is eating bananas.

3、对话双方都知道的人或事。如：Look at the blackboard.

4、用在序数词、形容词最高级和形容词only/very/same等词前。

如：the fifth day of July; the longest river of china; in the same class

5、世界上独一无二的事物。如：the sun, the moon, the sky, the earth

6、用在姓氏前，表示全家人或这一姓的夫妇二人。如：The Greens 格林一家

7、用在乐器名词前。如：play the violin/paino

8、用在江河、海洋、湖泊、群岛、山脉的名称前。如: the Yangtze River 长江；the West

Lake 西湖；the Pacific 太平洋；the Himalayas 喜马拉雅山

9、用在由普通名词和另外一些词构成的国家名称、机关团体、阶级、等专有名词前。

如：the Great Wall 长城，the United States美国；the Shanghai Railway Station 上

海火车站；the People's Republic of China 中华人民共和国

10、用在公共设施前。The Post Office

11、用在表示方向、方位的名词前。如：the east东方，the west西方，the south南方，

the north北方，the right右边，the left左边，in the back of，in the front of

12、用在形容词前或名词前，表示一类人或物或某种抽象概念。

如：the old 老年人；the happy 幸福的人；the poor 穷人

13、习惯用语

如：in the morning 在上午；on the right 在右边；by the way 顺便说一下；go to the theatre 去看戏；at the weekend 周末； in the end 终于；in the middle of 在中间

三、不用冠词the

1、一日三餐前。如：have lunch/supper

2、球类、棋类前。如：play soccer/chess/football

3、季节、月份、星期前。如：It is Autumn now. in May, on Saturday

4、抽象名词(happiness)、专有名词(人名、国名、地名)、物质名词（milk）前。

5、固定词组。如: at school; at table; in hospital; on foot;I go to school by bike.

6、称呼、官衔、职业前。如：Mr Wang is my teacher. This is chairman Hu.

7、名词前已有this that his my any等限定词时。如：This is my school bag.
