• 在译出语中的“多枝共干”和译入语中的相同时，理 解和表达不会有太大的困难，翻译不成问题。如： • 原文：人类追求知识，从来没有疆界（boundary）。 在知识的世界里，没有国家的疆界，没有种族的疆界， 没有性别的疆界，没有年龄的疆界，没有地域的疆界， 也没有文化的疆界。 • 参考译文：There are no boundaries in mankind's quest for knowledge, and in the world of knowledge, there should be no boundaries between nations, races, sexes, or of age, place, and culture. • 介词between支配着六个宾语，其实是六个介词宾语 结构作为六个定语，共同修饰名词boundaries。由于 英语汉语的结构相同，理解上不会有太大的困难，问 题在于遣词造句的表达技巧罢了。
• 这是英语句子的一种很有特色的结构。上面的一些章 节说过，英语的句子是“葡萄型”句。“多枝共干”， 就是很多枝叶共生在一根主干上，生机盎然。
• 简单地说，句子中的某一个词、短语或结构部分与几 个并列的词、短语或结构部分具有同一语法关系，这 种结构是“多枝共干”结构。
