2019学年度人教版选修七Unit4Sharing Period1Reading阅读学案设计Ⅳ.阅读理解I am the third daughter in a family of five. I was born at Malden Hospital and was immediately sent to Floating Hospital in Boston. I had a hole in my heart and a low platelet count (血小板计数),which are common problems of people with TAR syndrome (综合征).I came home for a short stay after my birth and then went back and did not return home until just before Thanksgiving. My parents have told me that after I was born our family doctor had a very important conversation with them. He said,“You have two choices with your daughter. One is that you do everything for her now,in the future, and after you die;the other is that you do nothing.” My paren ts picked the former.I do not have a great many memories of my childhood but I do remember I spent the first ten years in and out of hospitals. I do remember I stayed in the Boston hospital until I was around 2 years old and then I went to Shriners. I guess few children can bear that.I’ve grown up with great determination. I think that was a personality trait that I was born with and then my family developed that in me as I grew up. I had to deal with a lot of people making fun of me,staring at me,and pitying me. At a young age I realized that I could hide my pain with laughter. So I used that method when other children made fun of me and they stopped a lot faster than if I cried. Laughter was not the expected response so I guess they didn’t feel it was f un to continue. There was emotional and physical pain. I required the aid of a walker until I was about five years old. I had about ten major operations before the age of ten. I had to relearn to walk several times. I think having TAR syndrome has made me a strong person physically and emotionally. Despite these difficulties and challenges,I have gone on to be awarded a Master’s Degree and a black belt in Tae Kwon Do (跆拳道),and I am now an inspirational speaker.语篇解读面对病痛及他人的嘲笑,作者以乐观的态度面对人生,并取得了一系列成就。

A.Producers' Market.B.Holker Garden Festival.C.National Garden Day.D.Winter Market.BMany of us love July because it’s the month when nature’s berries and stone fruits are in abundance. These colourful and sweet jewels form British Columbia’s fields are little powerhouses of nutritional protection.Of the common berries, strawberries are highest in vitamin C, although, because of their seeds, raspberries contain a little more protein (蛋白质), iron and zinc (not that fruits have much protein).Blueberries are particularly high in antioxidants (抗氧化物质).The yellow and orange stone fruits such as peaches are high in the carotenoids we turn into vitamin A and which are antioxidants. As for cherries (樱桃), they are so delicious who cares? However, they are rich in vitamin C.When combined with berries of slices of other fruits, frozen bananas make an excellent base for thick, cooling fruit shakes and low fat “ice cream”.For this purpose, select ripe bananas for freezing as they are much sweeter.Remove the skin and place them in plastic bags or containers and freeze. If you like, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice on the bananas will prevent them turning brown.Frozen bananas will last several weeks, depending on their ripeness and the temperature of the freezer. If you have a juicer, you can simply feed in frozen bananas and some berries or sliced fruit.O ut comes a “soft-serve” creamy dessert, to be eaten right away. This makes a fun activity for a children’s party;they love feeding the fruit and frozen bananas into the top of the machine and watching the ice cream come out below.24.What does the author seem to like about cherries?A.They contain protein.B.They are high in vitamin A.C.They have a pleasant taste.D.They are rich in antioxidants.25.Why is fresh lemon juice used in freezing bananas?A.To make them smell better.B.To keep their colour.C.To speed up their ripening.D.To improve their nutrition.26.What is “a juicer” in the last paragraph?A.A dessert.B.A drink.C.A container.D.A machine.27.From which is the text probably taken?A.A biology textbook.B.A health magazine.C.A research paper.D.A travel brochure.CThere’s a new frontier in 3D printing that’s beginning to come into focus:food.Recent development has made possible machines that print, cook, and serve foods on a mass scale. And the industry isn’t stopping there.Food productionWith a 3D printer, a cook can print complicated chocolate sculptures and beautiful pieces for decoration on a wedding cake. Not everybody can do that — it takes years of experience, but a printer makes it easy.A restaurant in Spain uses a Foodini to “re-create forms and pieces” of food that are “exactly the same,” freeing cooks to complete other tasks. In another restaurant, all of the dishes and desserts it serves are 3D-printed,rather than farm to table.Sustainability(可持续性)The global population is expected to grow to 9.6 billion by 2050, and some analysts estimate that food production will need to be raised by 50 percent to maintain current levels.Sustainability is becoming a necessity.3D food printing could probably contribute to the solution. Some experts believe printers could use hydrocolloids (水解胶体) from plentiful renewables like algae(藻类) and grass to replace the familiar ingredients(烹饪原料).3D printing can reduce fuel use and emissions.Grocery stores of the future might stock "food" that lasts years on end, freeing up shelf spaceand reducing transportation and storage requirements.NutritionFuture 3D food printers could make processed food healthier.Hod Lipson, a professor at Columbia University, s aid, “Food printing could allow consumers to print food with customized nutritional content, like vitamins. So instead of eating a piece of yesterday’s bread from the supermarket, you’d eat something baked just for you on demand.”ChallengesDespite recent advancements in 3D food printing, the industry has many challenges to overcome.Currently, most ingredients must be changed to a paste(糊状物) before a printer can use them, and the printing process is quite time-consuming, because ingredients interact with each other in very complex ways.On top of that, most of the 3D food printers now are restricted to dry ingredients, because meat and milk products may easily go bad. Some experts are skeptical about 3D food printers, believing they are better suited for fast food restaurants than homes and high-end restaurants.28.What benefit does 3D printing bring to food production?A.It helps cooks to create new dishes.B.It saves time and effort in cooking.C.It improves the cooking conditions.D.It contributes to restaurant decorations.29.What can we learn about 3D food printing from Paragraphs 3?A.It solves food shortages easily.B.It quickens the transportation of food.C.It needs no space for the storage of food.D.It uses renewable materials as sources of food.30.According to Paragraph 4, 3D-printed food ________.A.is more available to consumersB.can meet individual nutritional needsC.is more tasty than food in supermarketsD.can keep all the nutrition in raw materials31.What is the main factor that prevents 3D food printing from spreading widely? A.The printing process is complicated.B.3D food printers are too expensive.C.Food materials have to be dry.D.Some experts doubt 3D food printing.32.What could be the best title of the passage?A.3D Food Printing:Delicious New TechnologyB.A New Way to Improve 3D Food PrintingC.The Challenges for 3D Food ProductionD.3D Food Printing:From Farm to TableDIn the 1760s, Mathurin Roze opened a series of shops that boasted(享有)a specialmeat soup called consommé.Although the main attraction was the soup, Roze’s chain shops also set a new standard for dining out, which helped to establish Roze as the inventor of the modern restaurant.Today, scholars have generated large amounts of instructive research about restaurants.Take visual hints that influence what we eat:diners served themselves about 20 percent more pasta(意大利面食)when their plates matched their food. When a dark-colored cake was served on a black plate rather than a white one, customers recognized it as sweeter and more tasty.Lighting matters, too. When Berlin restaurant customers ate in darkness, they couldn’t tell how much they’d had:those given extra-large shares ate more than everyone else, but were none the wiser—they didn’t feel fuller, and they were just as rea dy for dessert.Time is money, but that principle means different things for different types of restaurants.Unlike fast-food places, fine dining shops prefer customers to stay longer and spend. One way to encourage customers to stay and order that extra round:put on some Mozart(莫扎特).When classical, rather than pop, music was playing, diners spent more.Fast music hurried diners out.Particular scents also have an effect:diners who got the scent of lavender(薰衣草)stayed longer and spent more than those who smelled lemon, or no scent.Meanwhile, things that you might expect to discourage spending—"bad"tables, crowding, high prices —don’t necessarily.Diners at bad tables — next to the kitchen door, say — spent nearly as much as others but soon fled.It can be concluded that restaurant keepers need not "be overly concerned about ‘bad’ tables,"given that they’re profitable. As for crowds, a Hong Kong study found that they increased a restaurant’s reputation, suggesting great food at fair prices. And doubling a buffet’s price led customers to say that its pizza was 11 percent tastier.33.The underlined phrase "none the wiser"in paragraph 3 most probably implies that the customers were .A.not aware of eating more than usual B.not willing to share food with others C.not conscious of the food quality D.not fond of the food provided 34.How could a fine dining shop make more profit?A.Playing classical music.B.Introducing lemon scent.C.Making the light brighter.D.Using plates of larger size.35.What does the last paragraph talk about?A.Tips to attract more customers.B.Problems restaurants are faced with.C.Ways to improve restaurants’ reputation.D.Common misunderstandings about restaurants.答案及解析21.D【解析】根据Visitor Information部分的“How to Get to Holker”,“Manchester –1 hour 30 minutes”可知,从曼彻斯特到霍克庄园需要1小时30分钟,即90分钟。

It was wonderful to hear from you。

I know you're dying to hear all about my life here, so I’ve included some photos which will help you picture the places I talk about。

You asked about my high school。

Well,it’s a bush school – the classrooms are made of bamboo and the roofs of grass。

It takes me only a few minutes to walk to school down a muddy track。

When I reach the school grounds there are lots of "good mornings” for me from the boys。

Many of them have walked a long way, sometimes up to two hours,to get to school。

There’s no electricity or water and even no textbooks either!I'm still trying to adapt to these conditions. However, one thing is for sure,I’ve become more imaginative in my teaching. Science is my most challenging subject as my students have no concept of doing experiments。

Unit3 Reading优质教案教材分析Warming Up provides two activities to spark students' interest in the topic. Of course, before the class, the students must have gathered some information to make preparations for this class. Many kinds of their favorite sea animals are presented in their vivid pictures. Students are encouraged to introduce them using some new expressions such as at an aquarium,on a snorkelling trip.Pre-reading is designed to further stimulate their interest in the topic of the unit. Meanwhile, students may have some basic information about the text. The reading passage Old Tom the Killer Whale tells about two anecdotes witnessed by the writer himself. The teacher can first get students to skim the text for the characters in the two anecdotes and get the main idea of each anecdote. Then let them scan for further understanding. In order to let students pay attention to the writer's vivid description, the teacher can ask them to do a blank-filling exercise in pairs to find out some key verbs and verb phrases. Having done this, students must have had a very clear understanding of the whole hunting and saving process. To make their understanding easier, the teacher should deal with any language problems while they are reading. And then underline some useful words and expressions. For further thinking, students are expected to work in pairs or groups. They will discuss the problems and work out the answers cooperatively, choosing a reporter in their group. Students will think actively,so various answers are possible. To consolidate the contents of the reading passage, students should be required to retell the passage in the name of Old Tom or the baleen whale or James with as many key words as possible. At the end of the class,by holding a debate, the teacher can arouse students' interest further as well as make them aware of the relationship between man and animals and the importance of banning whaling.三维目标知识目标1.Get students to learn the useful new words and expressions in this part:anecdote,annual,witness,accommodation,shore,opposite,yell,pause,telescope,teamwork,dive,depth,lip,urge,abandon,shark,relationship,help...out.2.Let students learn about several different types of whales, especially the killer whales.能力目标1.Enable the students to learn to talk about their favorite sea animals.2.Develop students' reading ability by learning to read about the killer whales and let them learn different learning skills.3.Develop their creative thinking ability.情感目标1.Arouse students' great interest in sea animals.2.Make them aware of the relationship between man and animals and the importance of banning whaling.3.Develop students' sense of cooperative learning.教学重点1.Reading comprehension to the text.2.Learning more about the killer whales and understanding the relationship between the killer whales and the whalers.3.Important words and expressions.教学难点1.The relationship between the killer whales and the whalers.2.Develop students' reading ability.教学方法1.Individual,pair and group work.2.Task-based teaching and learning.3.Quiz,discussion,blank-filling,retelling,debate.教学工具A computer and a projector.。
