浅谈英语课外活动教学_英语论文浅谈英语课外活动教学_英语教学论文教学工作是科学性与艺术性相结合的统一体(谢云锦,王萱,2000)。

过去,在“应试教育”的观念下,忽略了课外活动对英语教学的帮助。

虽然这种状况现在有所改变,但是并未引起多数教师的足够重视。

因此,笔者在多年的英语教学实践中,将课外活动引入初中英语教学,收到了良好的成效。

本文就英语课外活动教学谈点粗浅的体会,以求教于同行。

一、英语课外活动的必要性1、英语课外活动是新课程改革的迫切需要随着基础教育课程改革的不断深入,对身处改革一线的英语教师提出了新的要求;教师必须转变教育角色,调整教学策略;还要求具备课程开发能力和整合能力,培养学生探究学习的能力,加强对新技能的学习培训(李英、黄艳明,2002)。

课外活动可以是课堂教学的延伸,如朗诵会、演讲比赛、参观访问、实地调查、生活Party、小型运动会等等,都可适时地引入英语教学。

语言教学是一个解决问题的过程(Leech,1983)。

新课程改革强调学生通用英语做事情,在做事情的过程中发展语言能力、思维能力以及交流与合作的能力。

语言学习要通过创设良好的语言环境和提供大量的语言实践机会,使学生通过自己的体验、感知、实践、参与和交流形成语感;学生在教师的指导下,运用探究性学习模式实现任务目标,感受成功。

如果英语学习通过真实的丰富多彩的课外活动,那么学生就能接触到更贴近学习实际、贴近生活、贴近时代的信息资源;学生的参与意识随之不断增强,交流方式也将由课内活动的单、双向交流,转为多向交流的方式。

2、开展英语课外活动的意义(1)有利于调动学生学习英语的积极性,培养学生对英语学习的兴趣。

(2)有助于体现学生的主体性,突出“以人为本”的教育思想。

(3)促进英语学科与其它学科的相互渗透和联系,克服了学科课程割裂知识的弊端(袁桂林,1999)。

(4)有助于提高教师的综合素质。

二、英语课外活动教学的实践与思考1、尽量采用“任务型”教学模式目前,“任务型教学活动”受到广大英语教育工作者的高度重视。

初中英语教学课外拓展初探目前的情景教学学生非常感兴趣,因为它符合青少年的学习心理。

但绝大部分都是老师设计的情景,离实际生活还有一段距离。

许多学生在课堂上英语讲得很不错,可课外实际运用时,或是目瞪口呆或是无言以对或是面红耳赤。

其重要原因是课堂时间非常有限,学生实际运用英语的机会太少。

如何才能做到在不增加学生负担的情况下,让他们思学乐学呢?我主要采取以下方法取得了较为满意的效果。

一、建立英语时段利用中午或下午的课外时间(半小时为宜)学生自由组合为5~6人小组,由民主产生的组长负责,进行自由聊天。

在此过程中,老师既是监督者又是参与者,要不失时机地与不同层次地学生进行交流。

交流的内容一般以每单元的speak up为主,以此联系生活实际展开由易到难的口语训练。

让学生感到学有所用,而且轻松自如。

例如:do you love your mother/father?how old is she/he?what does she/he do? do you often watch tv?did you watch it lastnight?…二、开展课外朗读活动语言的交际有两个方面,一是信息的输入,二是信息的输出。

克拉申认为人们习得语言总有一个沉默期,在这个沉默期里,人们靠听和读输入语言。

以后会突然讲得流利。

说的能力是在有足够输人的情况下产生的。

对于我们的学生而言严重缺乏英语的环境。

绝大部分学生只限于课堂那点有限的时间。

靠“听”这条路输入信息既费时又费力,而且效果不佳。

那么读就成为信息输入的主要渠道。

学生英语差,绝大部分都不能过“读”关。

如何让他们过“读”关,是广大教师头疼的问题。

我认为首先是让他们感到自己行。

这里教师的鼓励和帮助最重要。

表扬是鼓励的最佳途径,一但鼓励变为自信就会产生强大的动力。

教学中我发现学生对小故事和见到的有趣的事特别感兴趣,就让学生将故事和有趣的见闻在课堂和英语时段中互相交流,要鼓励学生到公开场合大声读,搞朗读比赛,学生热情很高,提高口语能力效果很佳。

一、充分利用校内校外资源,开展多种课外活动在英语学习中,课文活动的内容与形式是多种多样的,这需要教师根据实际情况,充分利用校内校外资源,灵活设计形式多样的课外活动,充分发挥学生的主体性,增加学生实践体验,使其从课外活动中增长见识,拓宽视野,既学会自主学习,又学会合作交流,互帮互助,提高英语学习效率。

第一,有效利用英语早读。

在英语课外活动中,英语早读活动是常见形式,若教师能够有效利用,则有助于提高学生的学习效率。

同时,为了培养学生英语早读的自觉性,教师需要注意指导与引导,如教师可根据教学内容,有针对性地安排英语早读任务,对学生早读进行了引导;明确早读目标,结合本班具体实际来布置记忆词汇与英语短语、诵读课文或作文等活动。

同时,注意朗读材料应丰富多样,兼含教材材料与课外阅读材料。

另外,注意多样化朗读方式,如自读、领读、对话、齐读等。

这样,可增强师生的交流互动,使师生关系更和谐,使学生更愿意学习。

第二,引导学生看英文电视、电影、新闻,听英语广播等。

在初中英语教学中,教师可播放英文电影,为学生营造良好的学习氛围,使其体会更地道的英语语言,了解更多的西方文化知识。

当然,教师需要考虑初中生的实际水平,合理选择英语电影或英语动画片,如《小鬼当家》《飞屋环游记》等。

在发展学生的综合语言运用能力的同时,让学生形成自主学习能力,就要完全改变传统教学中“讲解——接受”,把语言当作知识传授的教学模式,克服教师注入式、满堂灌、学生死记硬背的弊端。

让学生掌握语言知识,更重要的要以知识为载体,通过教师启发、引导,让学生参与知识构建过程的探究的课外活动,使其成为懂得如何处理学习问题的学习者,获得主动探究知识和自主学习的能力。

2、课外活动过程是师生交往互动的过程新课程标准把课外活动过程本质看成是师生交往,积极互动,共同发展的过程有益积极的补充。

“交往——互动”凸现了学生的主体性,让课外活动变为课堂的延伸,让课外活动成为学生充分展现自己的舞台,体现以学生发展为本的理念交往互动意味着教师从主要地位转向同伴角色。

周密的准备,精心的安排,充分地调动学生的积极性是活动成功的关键,处理好活动所涉及的有关问题是开展好英语课外活动的保障。

近几年,我校也开展了英语课外活动,但课外活动花样各异,活动形式、方法以及内容随意性都比较普遍。

因此,课外活动能在自然环境中轻松自如地,和谐地配合课堂扩充语言实践,巩固和发展语言运用的技能。

一、自愿参加,自觉进行
在组织课外活动时,一方面应坚持自愿参加的原则;另一方面应注意争取吸收尽可能多的学生参加,尤其是要充分重视吸收差生参加,要注意发挥差生的特点,挖掘出他们潜在的积极因素,调动他们的积极性。

同时,课外活动要让学生自觉进行,老师则处于辅导地位,让学生成为活动的主人。

教师应重视培养学生独立自主精神,启发引导学生开动脑筋、独立思考、独立学习的能力。

二、开展英语课外活动的途径
英语课外活动很多,但我们应该选用适合于学生年龄特点和知识水平的、生动活泼、简单明了、能寓教于乐、寓学
于乐的活动形式。

下面列举几个在实施过程中可形成的活动形式:
1.组织英语竞赛活动。

对于初学者来,为规范其书写姿势和习惯,在七年级可以开展英语书法竞赛活动。

活动时统一书写内容、书写稿纸和交稿时间,由师生共同组成评委小组,评出优秀作品,然后展出。

唱歌学英语是吸引某些英语较弱成绩较差同学的好办法。

除了在低年级教授简单易唱的儿歌外,在初三年级,还可以组织流行歌曲演唱赛,如《my heart will go on》、《yesterday once more》、《i will always love you 》等,可以极大调动学生的积极性,还可组织英语班会活动,从中评选出优秀节目。

2.开展英语角活动。

根据学生的不同年级,利用下午放学后的时间,交流组织英语角活动。

每一次的topic内容都必须与现实生活紧密相关,对于低年级的学生由于所学的英语词汇量和学到的短语句子较少,交流起来有一定的难度。

对于低年级程度较好的学生,可鼓励他们与高年级的学生进行交流,并帮助程度较差的学生。

可让学生大声朗读或背诵课文中学到的小诗,tongue twister、chant,以培养学生的语感。

有些内容既拓展了课本知识,又来源于生活,容易引起学生的兴趣。

3.组建英语兴趣小组。

各年级每星期开展一次英语兴趣
小组活动,老师组织学生唱歌,会话、表演、朗诵、游戏等。

每一个兴趣小组要配上一位指导老师,以便对小组情况进行检查,或帮助他们解决困难,提出具体指导意见。

4.组建英语课外阅读小组。

指导学生自由订阅一两份简单的英文报纸和英文期刊,让学生在课余时间加强阅读。

一般要求学生每天抽出10-15分钟自由阅读,每周集体活动一次,在老师指导下限时阅读,限时练习,这样既扩大了学生的词汇量,又提高了学生的阅读和理解能力,还培养了学生“见缝插针”的学习习惯。

5.指导学生在课外用英语写日记,给笔友通信。

众所周知,记日记和给笔友通信是一种良好的学习方式和生活习惯,对于提高语言的运用和表达能力,好处很多,在英语学习的过程中,经常鼓励和指导学生写英语日记和信件。

可将学生的表达性学习活动落实于笔头,提高了学生的书面表达能力。

6.开展校外活动课,加强学生对社会问题,社会环境的关切。

语言只有通过不断“运用”才能真正“活”起来,成为学生自己的东西。

三、活动中需注意的几个问题
开展英语课外活动不仅要采用有效的形式,而且还必须处理好活动所涉及的有关问题,以保证英语课外活动的有效
性。

1.活动要有明确的目标。

活动的开展是为了更有效的进行英语教学活动,必须与教学密切相关。

设计活动时,要充分的考虑教学的需要。

2.自愿参加,自觉进行。
