Football:
American football
是为了区别American football(美式橄榄球)和rugby(英式橄榄球)。
8 I turned to look at the children, but there weren’t any in sight: they had all run away.
刚刚我们讲过,这里的“I turned to look at…”可以写为“I turned and looked at”。
Lesson 30 Football or Polo?
a. Kick v.
e.g. I got all the questions right at first, and then I decided to go back and make some changes. Guess what? I ended up getting five booboos (mistakes). I'm kicking myself for that.

Football or polo?
Football or polo?足球还是水球?-新概念英语第二册自学导读笔记第30课新概念英语第二册第30课课文重难点 further notes on the text1.the wayle is a small river that cuts across the park near my home.
地点状语 near my home修饰 the park。
2.i like sitting by the wayle on fine afternoons.
3.…it went towards a passing boat.……
4.some people on the bank called out to the man in the boat…岸上的一些人对着小船上的人高喊……call out表示"大声呼叫"、"叫喊",比call语气要重:i heard someone calling out for help.
mary called out to her father, but he was too far away and couldn't hear her.

I live near an airport and passing planes can be heard111night and day. The airport was built years ago, but for some reason it could not be used then. Last year, however, it came into use. Over a hundred people must have been driven away from their homes by the noise. I am one of the few people left. Sometimes I think this house will be knocked down by a passing plane. I have been offered a large sum of money to go away, but I am determined to stay here. Everybody says I must be mad and they areprobably right. 1、Mad or not? = mad or not mad?or not 2、Aeroplanes are slowly driving me mad.drive sb. mad You are driving me mad.The teacher is slowly driving me mad.3、I live near an airport and passing planes can be heard night and day.night and day He forgot the man with passing time.
