Good morning, Ladies and gentlemen.

Today I’m very happy to be here to share with you some of my thoughts on the topic of Chinese dream and the dream of strong military.

And first of all, I would like to explain my own comprehension about dream.

Well, what is dream?

I’ve read an interesting sentence on the Internet.” Your future depends on your dreams, so go to sleep”. It’s said by a cat named Garfield. Obviously, he can’t tell the difference between dreams in sleep and dreams in reality. The dream I’m going to talk about today is much more important. I t’s the dream that can be come true, it’s the dream that should be protected, it’s the dream you strive for to the end of your life.

Maybe they are like the stars we can never reach in the sky, but like most mariners, we can chart our course by them. With the dream, there is a direction, and with the direction, we are no longer confused. With the dream, there is hope, and with the hope, we have strength to fight.

Well, now we know the significance of dream, but what is Chinese dream?

Chairman Xi Jinping gave us the concept of Chinese dream on December, 2012. “Realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the greatest dream since modern time”According to what he said, the Chinese dream is a dream of national prosperity and people’s happiness. Our people have an ardent love for life. They wish to have better education, more stable jobs, greater social security, better medical and health care. They want their children to grow well, have ideal jobs and lead a more enjoyable life. To meet their desire for a happy life is Chinese dream.

In order to realize the dream, China must take the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The country must also foster the Chinese spirit, in which patriotism and the spirit of reform and innovation play a core role, and unit 1.3 billion people into a great source of strength.

After I talked a lot about Chinese dream. Then I want to discuss with you the relationship between Chinese dream and the dream of strong military, because military power always plays an important role in Chinese dream.

From ancient time to nowadays, those who can survive in this complicated world must have the strength to defend themselves. That’s why Chairman Mao has said “Power grows from the barrel of a gun.”Every country has its own tradition and living style. Furthermore, it has its own honor and dignity. However, there were so many races think they are superior. They’ve tried to eliminate other races to develop. On the surface, they’ve fought for a better future of all human beings, but actually, they’ve just wanted to enslave them. From the Japanese invasion of China to the German persecution to Jewish, all of these examples remind us the indispensable part military power can play in Chinese dream.

And there is one thing I have to mention. The dream of strong military is not Hegemony dream. We Chinese people cherish peace. We build strong armies just to protect our motherland, but not to invade other nations. It’s a pity that some people twist the facts to suit their purpose, and sooner or later, I believe time will tell.
