英文原文:Ladies and Gentlemen,It is an honor to stand before you today and share a few thoughts on the power of dreams and the courage to pursue them. As you may know, I have had the privilege of serving as the President of the United States, and during my time in office, I have seen the incredible resilience and determination of the American people. But let me tell you, it all starts with a dream.Dreams are the fuel that powers our souls. They are the light that guides us through the darkest of times. And they are the reason why we rise above our challenges and achieve greatness. In the words of the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "If you can dream it, you can do it."I remember growing up in a small town in Hawaii, the son of a white father and a black mother. My childhood was filled with dreams, big dreams. I dreamt of becoming a president, of making a difference in the lives of people, of uniting a nation that had been divided for far too long. But dreams alone are not enough. They require courage, perseverance, and hard work. When I first ran for the presidency, I was told that I was too young, too inexperienced, and that I didn't have what it takes to lead. But I didn't let that discourage me. Instead, I chose to embrace the challenge and work even harder. I believed in the power of dreams, and I knew that if I stayed true to my vision, I could make a difference. And so, I embarked on a journey that would change my life and the lives of millions of Americans. We faced obstacles and setbacks along the way, but we never lost sight of our dreams. We fought for healthcare reform, for equality, for justice, and for a more hopeful future. And little by little, we made progress.Today, I stand before you as a testament to the power of dreams and the courage to pursue them. I am not the same man who stood on that stage eight years ago. I have grown, I have learned, and I have beentransformed by the experiences of serving as the President of the United States. But let me remind you, my friends, that this journey does not end with me. It continues with you. Each and every one of you has the power to dream and the courage to pursue those dreams. Whether you aspire to be a doctor, a teacher, an engineer, or an artist, know that your dreams are valid, and they are within your reach. Here are a few lessons I have learned on this journey that I hope will inspire you:1. Believe in Yourself: The first step to pursuing your dreams is to believe in yourself. You are capable of achieving greatness, but you must first believe that you are worthy of it.2. Surround Yourself with Good People: Dreams are hard to achieve alone. Find mentors, friends, and family who will support you and help you along the way.3. Stay True to Your Values: Your dreams should align with your values. Stay true to who you are and what you stand for, and you will never go wrong.4. Be Persistent: Pursuing a dream is not an easy journey. There will be challenges and setbacks, but you must stay persistent. Remember why you started and keep pushing forward.5. Embrace Failure: Failure is not the end, it is a stepping stone. Learn from your mistakes, and use them as fuel to propel you forward.6. Dream Big: Don't settle for anything less than your best. Aim high, and you will be surprised by what you can achieve.7. Help Others: As you pursue your dreams, remember to help others along the way. Your success is not just about you; it is about making a positive impact on the world.Ladies and Gentlemen,The power of dreams and the courage to pursue them is a force that can change the world. It is the force that has driven us as a nation to overcome adversity, to innovate, and to lead. And it is the force that will continue to drive us forward, even as we face new challenges and opportunities. So, I urge you to dream big, to be courageous, and to never give up. Your dreams are not just for you; they are for your family, for your friends, for your community, and for the world. And when you pursue those dreams with all your heart, you will not only achieve success, but you will also inspire others to do the same.Thank you, and may the dreams you chase today lead you to a brighter tomorrow.中文翻译:女士们,先生们,今天能站在这里与大家分享关于梦想的力量以及追求梦想的勇气的思考,我感到非常荣幸。

Introduction:Ladies and gentlemen, fellow Americans,Today, I stand before you not as a politician, but as a citizen of this great nation, a nation that has always believed in the promise of abetter future. I am here to ask for your support, not just in this election, but in the ongoing struggle for a more perfect union. We areat a crossroads, and the decisions we make today will shape the world we leave for our children and grandchildren. Let us not be afraid to dream big, for when we do, we achieve big things.Body:1. The State of Our UnionMy fellow Americans, the state of our union is not where it should be. We have faced unprecedented challenges in the last few years, from economic turmoil to global instability. But through it all, we have shown that we are a resilient people, capable of overcoming adversity. However, the road ahead is not easy. We have a mountain to climb, and it will require all of us to work together. We need to rebuild our economy, restore our communities, and renew our spirit of unity.2. Rebuilding the EconomyThe economy is the foundation of our nation, and it is suffering. We have lost millions of jobs, and too many families are struggling to make ends meet. My plan is to create jobs, not just by stimulating the economy, but by investing in the future. We will invest in renewable energy, creating millions of jobs and reducing our dependence on foreign oil. We will invest in education, training our workforce for the 21st century. We will invest in infrastructure, improving our roads, bridges, and airports.3. Restoring Our CommunitiesOur communities are the heart of our nation, and they need our attention. We have seen too many neighborhoods fall into decay, too many familiespushed to the brink. My plan is to revitalize our communities, ensuring that every American has a fair shot at success. We will provide affordable healthcare for all, ensuring that no one goes without the care they need. We will invest in our schools, providing quality education for every child. We will reform our criminal justice system, ensuring that it is fair and just.4. Renewing Our Spirit of UnityThe spirit of unity that once defined our nation has been lost. We have become divided by politics, by ideology, by the very things that should bring us together. My plan is to bring us back together, to bridge the divides that have grown so wide.We will engage in civil discourse, listening to each other and respecting our differences. We will work across the aisle, finding common ground and solving problems together. We will remind ourselves that we are Americans first, and that our common values are stronger than our differences.5. A New Era of LeadershipLeadership is about more than just words; it is about action. My leadership will be guided by a simple principle: the interests of the American people come first. I will not be swayed by special interests or political ideology. I will fight for what is right, and I will stand with the American people.6. The American DreamThe American Dream is not just a slogan; it is a promise. It is the promise that if you work hard, you can achieve your dreams. It is the promise that your children will have a better life than you did. It is the promise that we are all in this together.I believe in that dream, and I believe in you. I believe that with your support, we can turn our challenges into opportunities, our problemsinto solutions. Together, we can build a brighter future for ourchildren and for our nation. Conclusion:Ladies and gentlemen, fellow Americans,I ask for your vote, not just in this election, but in the ongoing struggle for a more perfect union. We have the power to make a difference, and it starts with us. It starts with you.Let us not be afraid to dream big, for when we do, we achieve big things. Together, we can rebuild our economy, restore our communities, and renew our spirit of unity. Together, we can make America great again.Thank you, God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America.---### 奥巴马竞选演讲稿引言:女士们、先生们,亲爱的同胞们,今天,我站在这里,不仅仅是一个政治家,更是一个这个伟大国家的公民。

McCain.Sen. McCain fought long and hard in this campaign. And he's fought even longer and harder for the country that he loves. He has endured sacrifices for America that most of us cannot begin to imagine. We are better off for the service rendered by this brave and selfless leader.I congratulate him; I congratulate Gov. Palin for all that they've achieved. And I look forward to working with them to renew this nation's promise in the months ahead.I want to thank my partner in this journey, a man who campaigned from his heart, and spoke for the men and women he grew up with on the streets of Scranton and rode with on the train home to Delaware, the vice president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden. And I would not be standing here tonight without the unyielding support of my best friend for the last 16 years therock of our family, the love of my life, the nation's next first lady Michelle Obama.Sasha and Malia I love you both more than you can imagine. And you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the new White House. And while she's no longer with us, I know my grandmother's watching, along with the family that made me who I am. I miss them tonight. I know that my debt to them is beyond measure. To my sister Maya, my sister Alma, all my other brothers and sisters, thank you so much for all the support that you've given me. I am grateful to them.。

My fellow citizens:I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transitionFortyfour Americans have now taken the presidential oath The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documentsSo it has been So it must be with this generation of AmericansThat we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood Our nation is at war, against a farreaching network of violence and hatred Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shutteredOur health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planetThese are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sightsToday I say to you that the challenges we face are real They are serious and they are many They will not be met easily or in a short span of time But know this, America they will be metOn this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discordOn this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politicsWe remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the Godgiven promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happinessIn reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given It must be earned Our journey has never been one of shortcuts or settling for less It has not been the path for the fainthearted forthose who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame Rather, it has been the risktakers, the doers, the makers of things some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labor, who have carried us up the long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedomFor us, they packed up their few worldly possessions and traveled across oceans in search of a new lifeFor us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the West; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earthFor us, they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe SahnTime and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or factionThis is the journey we continue today We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth But the time has come to ask seriously if we are doing all we can to keep that title, if we are doing all we can to build on the progress of past decades and meet the challenges of the futureI believe that if we are to meet the challenges of this new century, we must return to the values that have always sustained our nation: hard work and honesty, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotismThese things are old These things are true They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history What is demanded then is a return tothese truths What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult taskThis is the price and the promise of citizenshipThis is the source of our confidence the knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destinyThis is the meaning of our liberty and our creed why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall, and why a man whose father less than sixty years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oathSo let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river The capital was abandoned The enemy was advancing The snow was stained with blood At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:"Let it be told to the future worldthat in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survivethat the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet it"America In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generationsThank you God bless you And God bless the United States of America同胞们:今天我站在这里,为眼前的重责大任感到谦卑,对各位的信任心怀感激,对我们先辈的牺牲铭记在心。

奥巴马英语竞选演讲稿

Ladies and gentlemen, my fellow Americans,Today, I stand before you not as a politician, but as a citizen of this great nation, united by a shared destiny and bound by a common purpose.I am here to ask for your support, not just for me, but for the future of our country. The challenges we face are great, but so is our capacity to overcome them. Together, we can build a future that is more just, more prosperous, and more hopeful for all Americans. The State of Our UnionFour years ago, I stood before you at this same moment, a nation at war, an economy in crisis, and a future that seemed uncertain. But we have come a long way since then. We have ended the war in Iraq, we are on track to end the war in Afghanistan, and we have taken steps tostabilize our financial system and create jobs. However, we must not be complacent. Our work is far from over. We have an economy that is recovering, but it is not recovering fast enough for those who are still out of work. We have made progress in healthcare, but there are still millions of Americans without insurance. We have taken steps to combat climate change, but we have much more to do.A Call to ActionWe must rise to the occasion. We must embrace the future with confidence and courage. We must come together as a nation, to confront the challenges that lie ahead. And that begins with us, the American people. We must be the change we seek in the world.Investing in Our FutureTo create jobs and strengthen our economy, we must invest in the future. We must invest in education, because the knowledge of our children will determine the future of our country. We must invest in innovation, because it is the key to economic growth and global competitiveness. We must invest in infrastructure, because it is the backbone of our economy and the foundation of our communities. We must also invest in our people. We must provide every American with access to quality healthcare, because no one should go broke because they get sick. We must ensure that every American has the opportunity to achieve their dreams, regardless of their background or circumstances. The American DreamThe American Dream is not a myth. It is a reality, made possible by the hard work and sacrifice of generations of Americans. But the American Dream is at risk. It is at risk because of the choices we make today. It is at risk because of the policies that favor the few over the many.We must restore the promise of the American Dream. We must ensure that everyone has a fair shot at success. We must create a system that rewards hard work and innovation, and that does not tolerate discrimination or injustice.A New Direction for Foreign PolicyIn foreign policy, we must pursue a new direction that is based on the principles of peace, diplomacy, and cooperation. We must end the cycle of violence and conflict, and instead build a world that is more secure and more peaceful. We must engage with our allies and partners, and we must stand up for our values and principles. We must work to resolve conflicts, to prevent proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and to promote humanrights and democracy around the world.A Nation UnitedThe strength of our nation lies in our diversity. We are a nation of immigrants, of different races, religions, and backgrounds. But what unites us is our shared commitment to the ideals of freedom, equality, and justice. We must come together as one nation, to build a future that is inclusive and welcoming. We must respect each other, to understand each other, and to work together for the common good.Closing RemarksLadies and gentlemen, my fellow Americans, the road ahead will not be easy. There will be obstacles, there will be setbacks. But we have faced harder times before, and we have overcome them. 奥巴马大选胜选的英文演讲稿三篇演讲稿一:奥巴马大选胜选演讲稿Ladies and gentlemen,Thank you all for being here today. It is an honor to stand before you as the newly elected President of the United States. I am humbled by the trust and confidence you have placed in me, and I am ready to lead this great nation towards a brighter future.Over the course of this campaign, we have seen the power of hope and unity. We have witnessed the strength of the American people, who have come together to build a better tomorrow. Today, I stand before you not as a Democrat or a Republican, but as an American, ready to work with each and every one of you to bring about the change we so desperately need.As I look out into this crowd, I see faces from all walks of life. I see the faces of hardworking families struggling to make ends meet.I see the faces of young students dreaming of a brighter future. I see the faces of our brave men and women in uniform, who sacrifice so much to protect our freedoms. And I see the faces of those who have been left behind, forgotten by a system that no longer works for them. But today, I promise you this: I will be a president for all Americans. I will fight for every single one of you, regardless of your race, your religion, or your background. I will work tirelessly to create jobs, to improve our education system, and to provide access to affordable healthcare for all. I will fight for equality and justice, and I will never stop believing in the power of the American dream.Together, we can overcome the challenges that lie ahead. We can rebuild our economy, strengthen our communities, and restore faith in our government. But it will not be easy. It will require hard work, determination, and a willingness to put aside our differences and come together as one nation.I am reminded of the words of our founding fathers, who understood that ‘we the people’ have the power to shape our own destiny. They understood that in times of crisis, it is our unity that will see us through. And they understood that it is our shared values and common purpose that make us strong. So let us come together, my fellow Americans, and let us build a future that is worthy of our children and grandchildren. Let us never forget that we are a nation of immigrants, a land of opportunity, and a beacon of hope for the world. And let us never lose faith in the power of democracy, for it is through our collective voice that we can make a difference.Thank you, and God bless you all.演讲稿二:奥巴马大选胜选演讲稿My fellow Americans,Today, we have made history. We have chosen hope over fear, unity over division, and progress over stagnation. Today, we have sent a clear message to the world: that the United States of America is ready to lead once again.I stand before you as the 44th President of the United States, but I am not here alone. I am here because of the millions of Americans who believed in this campaign, who volunteered their time andtheir energy, who knocked on doors and made phone calls, who gave what they could to make this moment possible.I am here because of the mothers and fathers who work two jobs to make ends meet, but still find the time to read bedtime stories to their children. I am here because of the young people who are not just our future, but our present, who are ready to take on the challenges of our time. I am here because of the men and women in uniform who serve this country with honor and dignity, who sacrifice so much for our freedom. But most of all, I am here because of you, the American people. You have shown the world that change is possible, that we can come together and make a difference. You have proven that hope is not a hollow word, but a powerful force that can move mountains. Now, the real work begins. We face many challenges as a nation, but I am confident that together, we can overcome them. We can rebuild our economy, create jobs, and ensure that everyone has a fair shot at success. We can improve our education system, so that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. We can tackle the urgent threat of climate change, and leave behind a planet that is safe and sustainable for future generations. But we cannot do it alone. It will require all of us, working together, to bring about the change we so desperately need. It will require us to put aside our differences and find common ground. It will require us to listen to one another, to respect one another, and to remember that we are all Americans, united by a common purpose. So let us move forward with courage and conviction. Let us embrace the challenges that lie ahead, knowing that our best days are still ahead of us. Let us never forget that we are a nation of immigrants, a land of opportunity, and a beacon of hope for the world. And let us never lose sight of the fact that we are all in this together.Thank you, and God bless you all.演讲稿三:奥巴马大选胜选演讲稿My fellow Americans,Today, we have made history. 奥巴马的演讲稿英语

奥巴马的演讲稿英语Ladies and gentlemen,。

It is an honor to be here today to address all of you. As the President of the United States, I am humbled by the opportunity to speak to such a diverse and distinguished audience. Today, I want to talk to you about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for our world, and the role that each and every one of us can play in shaping a better future.First and foremost, I want to emphasize the importance of unity and cooperation in addressing the pressing issues that face our planet. Whether it is climate change, poverty, or conflict, these are challenges that no single nation can tackle alone. It requires a collective effort, a shared commitment to finding solutions that benefit all of humanity. This is not a task for governments alone, but for individuals, businesses, and organizations to come together and work towards common goals.I firmly believe that education is the key to unlocking the potential of our future generations. By investing in education, we are investing in the future of our world. It is through education that we can empower young people to become leaders, innovators, and problem solvers. We must ensure that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to quality education. This is not only a moral imperative, but also an economic necessity. A well-educated population is essential for driving economic growth and prosperity. In addition to education, we must also address the issue of inequality. The gap between the rich and the poor continues to widen, and this is not sustainable in the long run. We must strive to create a more equitable society, where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. This means creating more jobs, raising the minimum wage, and providing support for those who are struggling to make ends meet. It also means addressing systemic issues such as racial and gender discrimination, and working towards a more inclusive and just society for all. Finally, I want to stress the importance of diplomacy and dialogue in resolving conflicts. Too often, we resort to violence and warfare as a means of resolving disputes. However, history has shown us time and time again that this only leads to further suffering and destruction. We must be willing to engage in difficult conversations, to listen to each other's perspectives, and to find peaceful solutions to our differences. This requires courage, humility, and a willingness to put aside our own interests for the greater good.In conclusion, the challenges that lie ahead are great, but so too are the opportunities. By working together, by investing in education, by addressing inequality, and by embracing diplomacy, we can build a brighter future for all. It is my hope that each and every one of you will join me in this endeavor, and together, we can create a world that is more just, more prosperous, and more peaceful for generations to come.Thank you.。

奥巴马竞选演讲稿英文

奥巴马竞选演讲稿英文Ladies and gentlemen, friends and fellow Americans, today I stand before you as a candidate for the presidency of the United States of America. I am humbled by the support and encouragement of so many people from all walks of life, and I am gratefulfor the opportunity to address you today. As I travel across this great nation, I am reminded of the incredible diversity and strength of our country. From the bustling streets of New York City to the rolling plains of the Midwest, from the majestic mountains of the West to the tranquil shores of the East, America is a land of opportunity and promise. But I also know that for too many Americans, the promise of America remains out of reach. For too long, the American dream has been elusive for far too many people. Our economy has been rigged in favor of the wealthy and well-connected, leaving working families struggling to make ends meet. Our healthcare system has left millions without access to affordable care, and our education system has failed to provide equal opportunities for all of our children. And while the world around us is changing at an unprecedented pace, our government has been slow to adapt and address the challengesof the 21st century. But I am here today to tell you that I believe in the promise of America. I believe that we can build a future where every person has the opportunity to succeed, where every child can receive a quality education, where every family can afford healthcare, and where every American can find a good-paying job.I believe that we can create an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few. I believe that we can reform our healthcare system so that no one has to choose between paying for medication and putting food on the table. I believe that we can invest in our education system so that every child has the chance to reach their full potential. And I believe that we can lead the world in addressing the pressing challenges of our time, from climate change to global security. But I cannot do this alone. I need your help. I need your support. I need your vote. Together, we can build a future that is worthy of our children and grandchildren. Together, we can create a more just, more equal, and more prosperous America. Together, we can make the promise of America a reality for every person, in every corner of this great nation. So I ask you to join me on this journey. I ask you to believe in the power of our democracy, in the strength of our diversity, and in the promise of our future. Together, we can write the next great chapter in the story of America. Together, we can build a better tomorrow for all Americans. Thank you, and God bless the United States of America.。

奥巴马竞选美国总统英语演讲稿if there is anyone out there who still doubts that america is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.it's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that their voice could be that difference.it's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, democrat and republican, black, white, latino, asian, native american, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of red states and blue states: we are, and always will be, the united states of america.it's the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so many to be cynical, and fearful, anddoubtful of what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.it's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to america.i just received a very gracious call from senator mccain. he fought long and hard in this campaign, and he's fought even longer and harder for the country he loves. he has endured sacrifices for america that most of us cannot begin to imagine, and we are better off for the service rendered by this brave and selfless leader. i congratulate him and governor palin for all they have achieved, and i look forward to working with them to renew this nation's promise in the months ahead.i want to thank my partner in this journey, a man who campaigned from his heart and spoke for the men and women he grew up with on the streets of scranton and rode with on that train home to delaware, the vice president-elect of the united states, joe biden.i would not be standing here tonight without the unyielding support of my best friend for the lastsixteen years, the rock of our family and the love of my life, our nation's next first lady, michelle obama. sasha and malia, i love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the white house. and while she's no longer with us, i know my grandmother is watching, along with the family that made me who i am. i miss them tonight, and know that my debt to them is beyond measure.to my campaign manager david plouffe, my chief strategist david axelrod, and the best campaign team ever assembled in the history of politics - you made this happen, and i am forever grateful for what you've sacrificed to get it done.but above all, i will never forget who this victory truly belongs to - it belongs to you.i was never the likeliest candidate for this office. we didn't start with much money or many endorsements. our campaign was not hatched in the halls of washington - it began in the backyards of des moines and the living rooms of concord and the front porches of charleston.it was built by working men and women who dug into what little savings they had to give five dollars andten dollars and twenty dollars to this cause. it grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generation's apathy; who left their homes and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep; from the not-so-young people who braved the bitter cold and scorching heat to knock on the doors of perfect strangers; from the millions of americans who volunteered, and organized, and proved that more than two centuries later, a government of the people, by the people and for the people has not perished from this earth. this is your victory.i know you didn't do this just to win an election and i know you didn't do it for me. you did it because you understand the enormity of the task that lies ahead. for even as we celebrate tonight, we know the challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime - two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century. even as we stand here tonight, we know there are brave americans waking up in the deserts of iraq and the mountains of afghanistan to risk their lives for us. there are mothers and fathers who will lie awake after their children fallasleep and wonder how they'll make the mortgage, or pay their doctor's bills, or save enough for college. there is new energy to harness and new jobs to be created; new schools to build and threats to meet and alliances to repair.the road ahead will be long. our climb will be steep. we may not get there in one year or even one term, but america - i have never been more hopeful than i am tonight that we will get there. i promise you - we as a people will get there.there will be setbacks and false starts. there are many who won't agree with every decision or policy i make as president, and we know that government can't solve every problem. but i will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. i will listen to you, especially when we disagree. and above all, i will ask you join in the work of remaking this nation the only way it's been done in america for two-hundred and twenty-one years - block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.what began twenty-one months ago in the depths of winter must not end on this autumn night. this victoryalone is not the change we seek - it is only the chance for us to make that change. and that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were. it cannot happen without you.so let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, it's that we cannot have a thriving wall street while main street suffers - in this country, we rise or fall as one nation; as one people.let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long. let us remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the republican party to the white house - a party founded on the values of self-reliance, individual liberty, and national unity. those are values we all share, and while the democratic party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have heldback our progress. as lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, “we are not enemies, but friends…though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection.” and to those americans whose support i have yet to earn - i may not have won your vote, but i hear your voices, i need your help, and i will be your president too.and to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of our world - our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of american leadership is at hand. to those who would tear this world down - we will defeat you. to those who seek peace and security - we support you. and to all those who have wondered if america's beacon still burns as bright - tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from our the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity, and unyielding hope.for that is the true genius of america - that america can change. our union can be perfected. and whatwe have already achieved gives us hope for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.this election had many firsts and many stories that will be told for generations. but one that's on my mind tonight is about a woman who cast her ballot in atlanta. she's a lot like the millions of others who stood in line to make their voice heard in this election except for one thing - ann nixon cooper is 106 years old.she was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were no cars on the road or planes in the sky; when someone like her couldn't vote for two reasons - because she was a woman and because of the color of her skin.and tonight, i think about all that she's seen throughout her century in america - the heartache and the hope; the struggle and the progress; the times we were told that we can't, and the people who pressed on with that american creed: yes we can.at a time when women's voices were silenced and their hopes dismissed, she lived to see them stand up and speak out and reach for the ballot. yes we can.when there was despair in the dust bowl anddepression across the land, she saw a nation conquer fear itself with a new deal, new jobs and a new sense of common purpose. yes we can.when the bombs fell on our harbor and tyranny threatened the world, she was there to witness a generation rise to greatness and a democracy was saved. yes we can.she was there for the buses in montgomery, the hoses in birmingham, a bridge in selma, and a preacher from atlanta who told a people that “we shall overcome.”yes we can.a man touched down on the moon, a wall came down in berlin, a world was connected by our own science and imagination. and this year, in this election, she touched her finger to a screen, and cast her vote, because after 106 years in america, through the best of times and the darkest of hours, she knows how america can change. yes we can.america, we have come so far. we have seen so much. but there is so much more to do. so tonight, let us ask ourselves - if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live aslong as ann nixon cooper, what change will they see? what progress will we have made?this is our chance to answer that call. this is our moment. this is our time - to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the american dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth - that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:yes we can. thank you, god bless you, and may god bless the united states of america.。
