高考英语二轮复习新高考题型组合练(八)拔高篇16阅读理解C、D篇+完形填空+读后续写【阅读理解C篇】C(2022·湖北重点中学联考)Hands up, who’s rubbish at drawing? Ha! Bet you’re not as bad as me.Like most during lockdown, I missed being in familiar green city spaces. A quick snap on my phone never quite captured the moment. So I was excited to find “green sketching” sessions near my home. This seemed a perfect Covid-safe activity, even for the untalented. Our group was all women, with some having had previous artistic training. We were given art supplies and then set drawing exercises to help us get creative. This type of art, “green sketching”, was inspired by environmental scientist Dr Ali Foxon. Ali thought that spreading the joy of sketching could be the key to making people care about nature instead of just wordy reports. She launched her movement, Boggy Doodles, in 2016.The day we were there the forest was glorious—all gold, yellow and brown. We spent the last hour trying to capture a forest scene. Hoping not to embarrass myself too much, I made a real effort to catch the dark and brighter areas of the trunks, their textures. I used an eraser to create the white shape of a silver tree in the distance. Mine looked more like a winter scene—I hadn’t managed to capture the autumn leaves or the branches. But when the five of us brought our work together at the end, I wasn’t too ashamed: mine was only just the worst.I had loved this chance for a real and physical creative experience—I can’t be the only one to feel sad at the prospect of a new lockdown. Sketching calms a busy, anxious mind and trains the brain to notice “little things” that spark joy and help strengthen us against life’s challenges. While engaging with nature may well make us keener on protecting it—in Robert Mac far lane’s words, “We will not save what we do not love and we rarely love what we cannot name or do not see” —the benefits of sketching work the other way round.1.Why did the author take part in the “green sketching”activity?A. Her friends advised her to do so.B. She needed something to kill time.C. She was eager to return to green spaces.D.She wanted to improve her painting skills.2.What can we learn about the “green sketching”activity?A. It was launched by Dr Ali Foxon.B. It was well-received after being held in2016.C. It required the participants to write a report afterwards.D. It was aimed at raising public awareness of environmental protection.3.How did the author feel about her “green sketching”experience?A. She was ashamed that she didn’t take it seriously.B. She felt embarrassed that her work was the worst.C. She was fascinated by the winter scene in the forest.D. She enjoyed herself even though she was poor at painting.4.What does the author want to convey with Robert’s words?A. Sketching can strengthen one’s creativity.B. Doing things we love brings us happinessC. The first step to protecting nature is to engage with it.D. It often takes a calm mind to overcome challenges in life.【阅读理解D篇】D(2022·皖八一模)While it may sound like something that has crawled out of your nightmares, cyborg cockroaches have arrived as friends rather than enemies. Researchers from Japan’s RIKEN Cluster for Pioneering Research have designed a new remote-controlled insect, equipped with a battery “backpack” that is powered by solar panels. The cyborg cockroach, which is part insect and part machine, is intended to enter dangerous areas, monitor the environment or undertake search and rescue missions without needing to be recharged.Famously able to survive a nuclear war, cockroaches have been the inspiration for a number of technologies in recent years. The cockroaches are still alive, but wires attached to their two “cerci” — sensory organs on the end of their stomachs—send electrical impulses that cause the insect to move right or left. A battery is necessary for the sending and receiving of these electrical signals, which needs to be charged up.While it’s possible to build docking stations for recharging the battery, the need to return and recharge could disrupt time-sensitive missions. The RIKEN team wanted to create a more practical version when it ran out of power. Therefore, they designed an on-board solar cell that could continuously ensure that the cockroach stays charged while it works. However, cockroaches have a limited surface area available for all the components necessary to move its legs and keep it powered. The solution, published in npj Flexible Electronics, was to design a special “backpack” that could neatly carry both the wireless leg-control module and rechargeable lithium polymer battery. This was attached to the top of the insect on its chest, and was 3D printed to fit perfectly to the curved surface of the Madagascar cockroach. It allowed for this electronic device to be stably mounted on the insect for over a month, while leaving space elsewhere on the body to implant thesolar panel.5. What do we know about cyborg cockroaches?A. They are new-invented and helpful devices.B. They are a new kind of insect.C. They are in fact very unfriendly.D. They are powered by a backpack.6. How does the cockroaches follow instructions to move?A. They can be kept alive with inspiration.B. They are equipped with sensors.C. They do missions near docking stations.D. They carry an on-board solar cell.7. What function is expected of the RIKEN team’s solution?A. To apply 3D printing to the design perfectly.B. To enlarge the surface available for equipment.C. To fasten the cell and module neatly on cockroaches.D. To ensure the cockroaches return and recharge efficiently.8. Which is the most suitable title for the text?A. Cyborg Cockroaches—No More NightmaresB. Battery “Backpack"—3D Printing in UseC.

不过2007年33题提示词(he,fail)和37题提示词(he,abroad)中的he其实本没必要给出4.2007年部分题答案不唯一,至少有4道题(31题,32题,35题,40题)答案不唯一;2014年答案相对唯一一、2007年,2014年完成句子真题评析(2007年)33.The fact_____________________(他失败了数次)makes him very upset .(he,fail)标准答案that he has failed(for)several times结构部分 1、that引导同位语从句 2、现在完成时has failed(2007年)34、Last night , John was anwering the lettersthat_________(寄给他的)during the past two weeks.(arrive)标准答案:had arrived for him结构部分:1. 过去完成时had arrived(2007年)35、He believes that children______________(应允许…学习)at their own pace.(allow)标准答案:should /ought to /musth be allowed to learn(study)结构部分:1、情态动词+动词原形 2.情态动词被动语态(2007年)37、__________(他是否出过国)doesn’t make much difference.(he,abroad)标准答案:Whether he has been abroad or not短语动词:be abroad结构部分: 1、Whether…or not引导主语从句以及主语从句的语序2、be abroad的现在完成时形式has been abroad(2007年)38、The factory’s output of cars this year is ________(大约是去年的三倍).(as,great)38、标准答案:about three times as great as that of last year关键词部分: as great as结构部分: 1、同级比较结构:as…as…2、倍数词的位置three times as great as3、比较对象的平行that(of)(2007年)39、Not only________(要帮助)the disabled to find jobs, but also medical treatment will be provided for those who need it .(give)标准答案:Will help be given to短语动词:give…to…结构部分: 1、not only but also倒装结构2、一般将来时will3、被动结构be given to(2014年)40. 阅读理解A(2015·贵阳高三适应性监测考试)Many years ago, when I was fresh out of school and working in Denver, I was driving to my parents’home in Missouri for Christmas. I stopped at a gas station about 50 miles from Oklahoma City, where I was planning to visit a friend. While I was standing in line at the cash register(收款机), I said hello to an old couple who were also paying for gas.I took off, but had gone only a few miles when black smoke began pouring from the back of my car. I stopped and wondered what I should do. A car pulled up behind me. It was the couple I had spoken to at the gas station. They said they would take me to my friend’s. We chatted on the way into the city, and when I got out of the car, the husband gave me his business card.I wrote him and his wife a thankyou note for helping me. Soon afterwards, I received a Christmas present from them. Their note that came with it said that helping me had made their holidays meaningful.Years later, I drove to a meeting in a nearby town in the morning. In the late afternoon I returned to my car and found that I’d left the lights on all day, and the battery was dead. Then I noticed that the Friendly Ford dealership—a shop selling cars—was right next door. I walked over and found two salesmen in the showroom.“Just how friendly is Friendly Ford?”I asked and explained my trouble. They quickly drove a pickup truck to my car and started it. They would accept no payment. When I got home, I wrote them a note to say thanks. I received a letter back from one of the salesmen. No one had ever taken the time to write him and say “thank you”,and it meant a lot, he said.“Thank you”—two powerful words. They’re easy to say and mean so much.1.Why did the writer get into the old couple’s car?A.His parents were in the car.B.His car had broken down.C.His friend told him to do so.D.His car’s oil had run out.2.From the text, we know that the old couple were ________.A.talkative B.braveC.kind D.lonely3.What did the old couple think of helping the writer?A.They could get a reward.B.It made their holiday worthy.C.They did it by chance.D.It was due to a thank-you letter.4.What would be the best title for the text?A.An Experience to MissouriB.An Old CoupleC.A Meaningful HolidayD.A Meaningful ThankyouB(2015·呼和浩特第一次调研)It is not so long ago that the extended family lived under the same roof. Children grew up knowing their cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents, and other relatives. These children felt connected. In these not toolongago times people were connected to their food. Most people grew their own vegetables and fruit. Many families had a house cow for milk, cheese, butter and cream. Most families also had meat animals. When visitors came unexpectedly, dad would be sent out back to kill the chicken for dinner. Everyone was involved in cooking and mealtimes were a social event. When the meal ended, most of the family were involved in cleaning up and washing up.How different is the situation today? The fast life is all around us—fast food, fast cars, fast conversations, fast families, fast holidays. Our fast paced life has weakened these connections. We have been fooled into thinking we need to, or even must, be fast and have what the “fast life”gives us. Stress is leading to many new health problems. The solution is the Slow Movement. It aims to deal with the problem of “time poverty”through making connections. It supports a growing cultural shift towards slowing down. It has spread to more than sixty countries and become a worldwide movement. The Slow Movement tells us that we need to slow down and connect with our life. We need connection to people—ourselves, our family, our community, our friends—to food, to places(where we live), and to life. By being part of the Slow Movement, many people have known how they lost connection to most aspects of their life and to the natural world and rhythms around them. And more importantly, they have reconnected—they have lived a new connected lifestyle.5.If we are connected to our food, we ________.A.eat each meal slowlyB.buy our food by ourselvesC.enjoy our mealtimes with other family membersD.prepare and cook our food by ourselves6.According to the text, which group of the following words can be used to describe today’s life?A.Healthy, busy, disconnected.B.Rich, disconnected, comfortable.C.Fast, busy, stressful.D.Convenient, relaxing, fast.7.According to the author, many people have ________.A.got used to fast lifeB.had unwise opinions about fast lifeC.had diseases caused by fast foodD.benefited from fast life8.What’s the purpose of the text?A.To compare modern life with traditional life.B.To explain the meaning of making a connection.C.To explain the disadvantages of disconnected life.D.To support a worldwide movement.Ⅱ.七选五(2015·河北五个一名校联盟监测二)Guide for TeenagersThe teenage years can be tough, and it’s normal to feel sad every now and then. But if these feelings don’t go away or become so intense that you can’t handle them, you may be suffering from depression.1.________.Try not to isolate yourselfWhen you’re depressed, you may not feel like seeing anybody or doing anything.Just getting out of bed in the morning can be difficult, but isolating yourself only makes depression worse.2.________.Spend time with friends, especially those who are active.Keep your body healthyMaking healthy lifestyle choices can do wonders for your moods.Ever heard of “Runners High”?Physical activity can be as effective as medications for depression,so get involved in sports, ride your bike,or take a dance class.Any activity helps!3.________.As for food, make sure you’re feeding your mind with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.Avoid alcohol and drugsYou maybe try drinking or use drugs in an effort to escape from your feelings and get a “mood boost”,even if just for a short time. However, substance abuse can not only make depression worse, but can cause you to become more depressed.4.________.You will need special treatment for your substance abuse problem.5.________Stress and worry can lead to depression.Talk to a teacher if exams or classes seem overwhelming. In addition,if you have a health concern you feel you can’t talk to your parents about, see a doctor.A health professional can help you approach your parents and guide you toward appropriate treatment. If you’re dealing with relationships, friendships,or family problems, talk to an adult you trust.A.Ask for help if you are stressedB.Even a short walk can be beneficialC.Turn to your parents for helpD.As you get out into the world, you may find yourself feeling betterE.In short, drinking and taking drugs will make you feel worse—not better—in the long run F.The more exercise you do,the healthier you will beG.Help is available and you have more power than you thinkⅢ.短文改错(2015·云南第一次统一检测)A foreign student graduated with honors from a finely university in Germany.
班级:________姓名:________用时:________应讲题:________得分:________高考题型重组练(五)(限时35分钟)Ⅰ.阅读理解A[2021·南通市高三第一次调研] An afternoon nap (午睡) is one of the joys of life, although too much napping could signal all is not well. In some cultures, people will have a daily nap — this is fine. The warning comes when people start sleeping during the daytime, when they did not sleep before. There is certainly a good reason to believe that daytime sleepiness — as in the Alzheimer's disease study — can be a marker of an underlying condition. For most people, napping during the day is mainly a sign that you are not getting enough sleep at night, says Dr. Neil Stanley, a sleep expert. “If you feel sleepy during the day, you should think about taking a nap. That is what the body needs — it doesn't need to be kept awake with caffeine. It needs sleep.” The feeling we should notice is “sleepiness”,he says. It's not “tiredness”,which could be more psychological and linked to stress. So how do you nap well? The key thing, says Stanley, is how long your nap lasts. Choose either a 20or 90minute nap.“When you fall asleep, you'll quickly go through the lighter stages of sleep into your first period of deep sleep. You don't want to wake up because that's when you wake and feel worse than you did before.” Napping for 20 minutes means you will wake up before you go into deep sleep; napping for 90 minutes means you'll complete a sleep cycle.Once you factor in the time it takes to fall asleep — “Some people are better at napping than others but,”says Stanley, “a healthy adult will, fall asleep in between 5 and 12 minutes.” — you can set an alarm, allowing a 30to 40minute period for a short nap, and up to two hours for a longer one.A good time to nap is during the body's natural dip in the afternoon, between 2 pm and 4 pm. “You don't really want to be napping much past that because then you are going to be eating into your nighttime sleep,”Stanley says. Maybe you argued with a sibling (兄弟;姊妹) over what to watch on TV. Or perhaps you tried to convince grownups that ice cream makes a better dinner than vegetables. How did your disagreement end? Were you able to see the issue from the other person's viewpoint? In many situations, disagreements are unavoidable. They're part of life. After all, everyone has different opinions. We all have past experiences that shape how we see the world. Still, not all disagreements are bad. In fact, many people look at them as opportunities to learn. They do so by trying to understand where both sides are coming from. How can you understand both sides of an issue? Often, it's best to start by asking questions. Questions help us learn about the world around us. The right questions can also help us learn about other people. In a disagreement, asking for more information can help you learn about a person's viewpoint. It can also lead you to gather more facts. This can paint a better picture of the entire issue. When seeking to understand both sides of an issue, it's important to know the difference between facts and opinions. Remember, facts are based on true information. Opinions can change from person to person. Paying attention to facts can stop biases(偏见)from taking over in a disagreement. This can help everyone involved see both sides of the issue.Maybe you're wondering why it's important to understand both sides of an issue, anyway. After all, don't most people just want to prove that their side is right? Often, that's true. However, understanding the whole issue can lead to both sides working together.Disagreements may be uncomfortable at first. However, when both sides truly try to understand each other, they often find they have more in common than they thought. The next time you disagree with other people, try asking them questions about their viewpoint. You never know what you might learn.5.What does the underlined word “so” refer to in Paragraph 2?A.Ignoring chances to learn.B.Knowing more about themselves.C.Shaping a right way to see the world.D.Making the disagreements a chance to learn.6.According to the passage, how can we solve a disagreement?A.By changing the other's opinion.B.By making both sides comfortable.C.By trying to stand in the other's shoes.D.By telling facts and opinions apart.7.How does the author support his view?A.By reasoning. B.By making comparison.C.By debating. D.By giving examples.8.What's the author's attitude to people's arguments?A.Indifferent. B.Pessimistic.C.Positive. D.Skeptical.Ⅱ. Doug Falter returned home, tearyeyed and __1__. I carefully construct each of my stories to connect readers to the story itself, to the characters in the story, and to other readers. My goal is to build kids' socialemotional learning skills to help improve healthy relationships and prevent peer cruelty. And since October is National Bullying Prevention Month, this is the perfect time to share with you, dear book lovers, how literature can be used as an effective tool to address hurtful behavior. What I'm describing here is nothing new. For years, children's literature has been used by advisors, parents, teachers, and librarians to address tough issues kids face in their everyday world. Researchers report that literature, with proper adult guidance and assistance in a safe social setting, can help form viewpoints and empathy (同情) in young readers. And let's face it: the more empathy and compassion kids have in their hearts, the less room there is for arrogance and contempt(蔑视) for others.I love what Dr. Zipora Shechtman, author of Treating Child and Adolescent Aggression Through Bibliotherapy, said in the book, “Through the imaginative process that reading involves, children have the opportunity to do what they often cannot do in real life — become thoroughly involved in the inner lives of others, better understand them, and eventually become more aware of themselves.”Because the social world of today's children is very complex, I try to include the wisdom and insight of young readers in my stories, so that my books go hand in hand with their life experiences and views. There are also many other wonderful books that generate thoughtful conversations (my website lists my top picks — from preschool kids to young adults, both fiction and nonfiction). If you're looking for ways to turn stories into teachable moments visit authors' or publishers' websites for readymade lesson plans. With lessons in hand, you're ready to open the hearts and minds of young readers to new perspectives and possibilities!1.Why is it important to teach kids to have empathy and compassion ?A.They will help kids address tough issues.B.They will make kids treat others equally.C.They will make kids more optimistic toward life.D.They will make kids perform better in everything.2.What does Dr. Zipora Shechtman mainly talk about in his book?A.The influence of literature on children.B.Tough issues children face today.C.The importance of imagination.D.Interaction between children.3.In the last paragraph the author intends to ________.A.ask us to visit his websiteB.make a summary of his viewC.call attention to his booksD.recommend more books to us4.What's the specific message the author wants to convey in the text ?A.Socialemotional learning skills are important to children.B.Children can't go without wonderful books.C.Literature can help to handle the emotionally damaging manner.D.Authors' or publishers' websites have book lists.B[2021·济南市高三模拟] Not so long ago therapy (心理治疗) was limited to an hour longadvising session on a sofa; now you can access free advice on TikTok in under a minute. Perhaps this new trend is growing because it offers easy bitesize answers to big complex questions. The problem with TikTok, however,is that the videos have to be under 60 seconds, which are about serious mental health illnesses being reduced to brief sentences with quick fixes from sometimes unqualified nonprofessionals. And with the average age of TikTok users between 18 and 24,how helpful is TikTok therapy ?“When I first started creating mental health content, I didn't expect anyone to listen,”explains Julie Smith, who runs a private practice in Hampshire. “But it turns out people are hungry for this sort of information.” Although there is a concern about the videos' increasing the risk of selfdiagnosis(自诊), Smith thinks otherwise. She compares selfdiagnosing a mental health problem to selfdiagnosing a common cold, “If you want to find out about the symptoms of a cold, you can look it up online. That's not a risk because you can't do much with that information until you get to the doctor anyway.”Yet despite concerns, the comments on TikTok therapy videos are filled with praises. Rache1,23,says she finds them very relatable:“If you see a video discussing anxiety, it can help you acknowledge and discuss topics you might not feel safe to do in other places. It makes me feel less alone.”We've seen some great mental health content on TikTok. However, it is important to remember that not all the information you find online will be reliable and it can be useful to ask yourself some questions including who is sharing it and why.5.Why is TikTok therapy getting popular?A.It sells at a low price.B.It aims at younger users.C.It provides brief solutions.D.It is offered by professionals.6.What does Smith think of TikTok therapy videos?A.They may cause some potential risks.B.Watching these videos is better than going to doctors.C.They are of much help to people in need.D.They show symptoms of disease in detail.7.What does the underlined word“them” in Paragraph 4 probably refer to?A.Concerns. B.Videos.C.Comments. D.Praises.8.What may the author agree?A.TikTok will replace hospitals in the future.B.It is quite easy to find reliable medical advice.C.Everyone can create his own TikTok videos.D.We should be careful about online information.Ⅱ.七选五[2021·湖北省高三十一校第一次联考] Traveling is what makes your life complete.

其它0-1题:包括助动词(如强调谓语动词的do,does,did ;构成部分倒装的do,does,did ;构成一般疑问句的do,does,did ),构成强调结构的it 或that ,连接性副词(before,ago,however,anyway ...)

AOn his bench in Madison Square Soapy moved uneasily, and he realized the fact that the time had come for him to provide against the coming winter. The winter ambitions of Soapy were not of the highest. In them there were no dreams of Mediterranean voyages or blue Southern skies. Three months on the Island was what his soul desired. Three months of assured board and bed and good company, safe from north winds seemed to Soapy the most desirable thing.Just as the more fortunate New Yorkers had bought their tickets to Palm Beach each winter,Soapy had made his arrangements for his annual journey to the Island. And now the time had come. There were many institutions of charity in New York where he might receive lodging and food, but to Soapy’s proud spirit the gifts of charity were undesirable. You must pay in humiliation of spirit for everything received at the hands of mercy. So it was better to be a guest of the law.Soapy, having decided to go to the Island, at once set about accomplishing his desire. He left his bench and went up Broadway. He stopped at the door of a glittering cafe. He was shaven and his coat was decent. If he could reach a table in the restaurant, the portion of him that would show above the table would raise no doubt in the waiter’s mind. A roasted duck, with a bottle of wine, a cigar and a cup of coffee would be enough. Such a dinner would make him happy, for the journey to his winter refuge. But as Soapy entered the restaurant door, the head waiter’s eye fell upon his shabby trousers and old shoes. Strong hands pushed him in silence and haste out into the street. Some other way of entering the desirable refuge must be found. At a corner of Sixth Avenue Soapy took a stone and sent it through the glass of a glittering shop window. People came running around the corner, a policeman at the head of them. Soapy stood still, with his hands in his pockets, and smiled at the sight of the policeman.“Where is the man that has done that?” asked the policeman.“Don’t you think that I have had something to do with it?” said Soapy, friendly. The policeman paid no attention to Soapy. Men who break windows don’t remain to speak with policemen. They run away. He saw a man running and rushed after him, stick in hand.Soapy, disgusted, walked along, twice unsuccessful. On the opposite side of the street was a restaurant for people with large appetites and modest purses. Soapy entered this place without difficulty. He sat at a table and ate beefsteak and pie.And then he told the waiter he had no money.“Go and call a cop,”said Soapy. “And don’t keep a gentleman waiting.”“No cop for you,” said the waiter. “Hey!”Then Soapy found himself lying upon his left ear on the pavement. He arose with difficulty, and beat the dust from his clothes. Arrest seemed a rosy dream. The Island seemed far away. After another unsuccessful attempt to be arrested for harassing a young woman, Soapy went further toward the district of theatres. When he saw a policeman standing in front of a glittering theatre, he thoughtof “disorderly conduct”.On the sidewalk Soapy began to sing drunken songs at the top of his voice. He danced, cried, and otherwise disturbed the peace. The policeman turned his back to Soapy, and said to a citizen, “It is one of the Yale boys celebrating their football victory. Noisy, but no harm.”Sadly, Soapy stopped his useless singing and dancing. The Island seemed unattainable. He buttoned his thin coat against the north wind.In a cigar store he saw a welldressed man who had set his silk umbrella by the door. Soapy entered the store, took the umbrella, and went out with it slowly. The man with the cigar followed hastily.“My umbrella,” he said.“Oh, is it?” said Soapy. “Well, why don’t you call a policeman? I took your umbrella! Why don’t you call a cop? There stands one on the corner.”The umbrella owner slowed his steps. Soapy did likewise. The policeman looked at them curiously.“Of course,” said the umbrella man, “well, you know how these mistakes occur...if it’s your umbrella I hope you’ll excuse me.I picked it up this morning in a restaurant—if it’s yours,I hope you’ll...”“Of course it’s mine,” said Soapy. The exumbrella man retreated. The policeman hurried to help a welldressed woman across the street.Soapy threw the umbrella angrily. He was angry with the men who wore helmets and carried clubs. They seemed to regard him as a king who could do no wrong. At last Soapy stopped before an old church on a quiet corner. Through one window a soft light glowed, where, the organist played a Sunday anthem. For there came to Soapy’s ears sweet music that caught and held him at the iron fence. The moon was shining; cars and pedestrians were few; birds twittered sleepily under the roof. And the anthem that the organist played cemented Soapy to the iron fence, for he had known it well in the days when his life contained such things as mothers and roses and ambitions and friends. The influence of the music and the old church produced a sudden and wonderful change in Soapy’s soul. He thought of his degraded days, dead hopes and wrecked faculties. And also in a moment a strong impulse moved him to battle with his desperate fate. He would pull himself out of this pit; he would make a man of himself again. Those sweet notes had set up a revolution in him. Tomorrow he would be somebody in the world. He would...Soapy felt a hand on his arm. He looked quickly around into the broad face of a policeman.“What are you doing here?”“Nothing.”“Then come along,” said the policeman.“Three months on the Island,” said the Judge the next morning.1.Soapy regarded the Island as his winter ambition because ________.A.he wanted to go on Mediterranean voyages and enjoy blue Southern skies B.he wanted to spend the cold winter somewhere warm other than New York C.he wanted to be put into prison to survive the coming winterD.he wanted to buy a ticket to the Island to spend the cold winter2.Which of the following is the reason for Soapy’s not turning to charity?A.His pride gets in the way.B.What the institutions of charity offer isn’t what Soapy needs.C.He wants to be a citizen who obeys the law.D.The institutions of charity are not located on the island.3.How many times did Soapy try to accomplish his desire?A.4.
