在“there + be”结构中的谓语动词有时不用be , 而用表示类似“存在”观念的其他不及物动词。

如：live, stand, come, lie, flow, enter, rise 和appear等。

如：There came shouts for help from the river.如：There lies a large wheat field in front of the house4. so+ 形容词/副词that 的结构状语从句可以用正常语序表示，也可以把so+形容词/副词放于句首构成倒装。

句型如下：so +形容词/副词+be/助动词/情态动词that +从句。

如： So fast does light travel that it is difficult for us to imagine its speed.5.only 及所修饰的副词、介词短语或状语从句放在句首时，要用：only+ 状语+ be /助动词/情态动词+主语及其他如：Only in this way can you make progress in your English.五.主语从句What he wants to tell us is not clear. 他要跟我们说什么，还不清楚。

句型2：•It seems that sb. do/ be doing/ have done/ had done= Sb. seems to do/ be doing/ have done/to be done/to have been done （还有动词appear等可这样使用）•如: It seemed that he had been to Beijing before.他好象以前去过北京。

＝He seemed to have been to Beijing before. 句型3 ：•It is / was＋被强调的部分＋that(who)+剩余的部分.如：•It wasn't until he came back that I went to bed.直到他回来我才睡觉。

(一定要注意被强调句型中的谓语动词否定的转移)。

It was because he was ill that he didn't come to school today.只因为他有病了今天没有来上学。

（只能用because而不能用for, as 或since）•It is I who am a student. 我确实是个学生。

（句中am不能用are来代替。

）句型4：•It is high time (time/ about time)+ (that) 主语＋should do / did+其它。

（从句中的谓语动词用的是虚拟语气。

）如: •It is high time that we should go / went home.我们该回家了。

句型5：•It is / was said ( reported…)＋that+从句. 如：•It was said that he had read this novel.据说他读过这篇小说。

＝He was said to have read this novel.句型6：•It +谓语＋段时间＋before+主语＋谓语.（ before引导的是时间状语从句。

）如：•It wasn't long before the people in that country rose up.没有多久那个国家的人民就起义了。

•It will be three hours before he comes back.三个小时之后他才能回1、"as good as…"相等于，就像，几乎如;实际上，其实，实在。

The merchant as good as promised the orphan boy, that he would adopt him.2、"many as well…as"和"might as well …as" "可译为"与其……，不如……，更好"，"以这样做……为宜"，"如同……，也可以……"等等。

"might as well…as"表示不可能的事，可译为"犹如……"，"可与……一样荒唐"，"与其那样不如这样的好"等等。
