Step 1:Warm-up
1.播放歌曲“My new pen pal”,学生跟唱进入学习的氛围。

2.同桌二人一组谈论自己的笔友,运用Does he/she …进行提问,并运用Yes, she/he does. No, she/he doesn’t.来回答,二分钟后教师提问,找学生介绍自己的笔友。

Step 2: Presentation
1.教师情景导入,引入“Let’s learn”对话。

T: Last lesson, John wants to make friends with the other John in Australia. Let’s listen to the CD and find out what he is saying to his little brother.
(1)播放听力,并让学生思考:What does John’s pen pal study?
(2)学生边听边画出不理解的地方以及问题的答案。

核对答案,引入重难点。

并板书重点句子,板书单词study以及第三人称单数形式studies,让学生区分记忆并找出study变第三人称单数形式的规则。

2.John的笔友不仅学习中文,而且会包饺子。

教师展示包饺子的图片,并板书cook→cooks→cooks Chinese food,后缀s可用另一种颜色标出。

3.教师拿出word puzzles,和一名学生边做边说:
T: I do word puzzles. What does he do? Ss: He does word puzzles.标出do和does,并板书,强调do的第三人称单数形式加“es”。

4.展示远足图片,并问:What else does he do? Ss: He goes hiking。

板书go→goes→goes hiking。

Step 3: Consolidation and extension
1.同桌二人模拟“Let’s learn”的对话,进行短语替换练习,抽到哪个单词卡片,就用哪个回答。

2.小组合作,总结动词第三人称单数形式的变化规则:
(1)一般情况下,直接加s,如:cook→cooks。

(2)以s, x, ch, sh结尾的动词,加es ,如watch→watches。

(3)以辅音字母加y结尾的动词,把y变i,再加es,如:study →studies。

(4)其它不规则变化。

3.完成“Listen, match and say”的部分任务。

先让学生看图,在图旁边标上相应的人名和动词短语,播放听力。

学生根据听力,做选择,教师再次播放录音,核对答案。

然后二人一组搭档,模仿示例,练习“Does he/she …?Yes, he/she does. No, he/she doesn’t”。

Step 4: Homework
用英语描述自己好朋友一天的生活情况。

本节课难度较大,是在学习动词原形的基础上继续学习动词的其他变化形式。

教师通过对比关键词,让学生总结的方式来进行教学,这有助于学生更主动地把握知识。
