要是跟外国朋友介绍起来,可以说“Guilin's mountains are so amazing. They are like works of art carefully carved by nature, each with its own unique shape and posture.” 比如说象鼻山,它就像一头真正的大象在漓江边上饮水,外国游客看到肯定会惊叹不已,这时候就可以说“Look at that Elephant Trunk Hill. It looks just like a real elephant drinking water by the Lijiang River.”

这时候可以跟同行的外国友人说“The water of the Lijiang River is so clear. It's like a mirror. And it's as green as a flawless emerald. When we are boating on the river, we can see the fishswimming and the water plants swaying with the waves.” 江面上还会有渔民撑着竹筏,那画面就像从古老的中国水墨画里走出来的一样,特别有韵味。

I had such an incredible time and I can't wait to tell you all about it!We took a flight from Beijing to Guilin and the plane ride was about 3 hours. I spent most of the time reading books and watching movies on the little TV screen on the back of the seat in front of me. When we finally landed in Guilin, I could hardly contain my excitement! The first thing I noticed when we left the airport was how warm and humid it was compared to Beijing. Guilin has a subtropical climate so it was much hotter and stickier than I'm used to. My parents had booked us a nice hotel right in the center of the city near篇2My Amazing Trip to GuilinLast summer, my family and I went on a wonderful vacation to Guilin, a beautiful city in southern China. It was an incredible experience that I'll never forget! We began our journey by taking a high-speed train from Beijing to Guilin. The train ride took several hours, but I didn't mind because I loved watching the amazing scenery go by through the window. The lush green fields and towering mountains looked like scenes straight out of a painting! When we finally arrived in Guilin, the first thing I noticed was how warm and humid it was compared to Beijing. It felt like being wrapped in a thick, hot blanket. My clothes started sticking to me right away! Mom said we'd get used to the heat and humidity after a few days. Our first stop was the famous Elephant Trunk Hill. It's a massive limestone rock formation on the banks of the Li River that really does look just like an elephant dipping its trunk into the water to drink! We took a little boat tour along the river to see Elephant Trunk Hill up close. The scenery along the river was incredibly beautiful, with karst hills covered in lush greenvegetation everywhere you looked. Our guide told us karst hills are formed by the erosion of water on the soft limestone over millions of years. After the boat tour, we visited the Reed Flute Cave, which is a huge natural limestone cave filled with incredibly colorful lights. It felt like we were walking through the insides of a glittering jewel! The caves had pools of water as clear as glass and thousands of stalactites and stalagmites in all sorts of bizarre shapes. Our guide said some of the rock formations looked like things like a lion, a mushroom, and even the Statue of Liberty! My little sister thought everything in the caves looked like different types of ice cream and candy. The next day, we went on a hike through a bamboo forest. I had never seen bamboo growing before and was amazed by how tall and thick it was - some of the bamboo stalks were taller than Mom and Dad! The forest was filled with the peaceful sounds of rustling leaves and birdsong. We even got to see some bamboo being harvested the traditional way and learned how it's used to make things like furniture, construction materials, and even food. After our hike, we went to see the famous Cormorant Fishermen. These are Chinese fishermen who have trainedcormorant birds to dive into rivers and catch fish for them. The birds have a string tied around their necks so the fish they catch can't be swallowed. We got to watch the fishermen out on their little wooden boats at night, with the cormorants sitting perfectly still until commanded to dive into the water after fish. I felt bad for the birds having to give up their catch, but our guide said the fishermen take very good care of them. One of my favorite parts of the trip was visiting the incredible rice terraces of Longji in the countryside outside Guilin. Longji is home to the Zhuang and Yao minority peoples, who have constructed thousands upon thousands of terraced rice paddies along the slopes of the rolling hills and mountains. The verdant green terraces looked like stairways that went on forever into the heavens. We got to hike up and down the terraces and see Zhuang minority villagers hard at work planting, harvesting, and drying the rice by hand using traditional methods. I tried my hand at planting a few seedlings too - it was much harder work than I imagined! At the end of the day, we relaxed with a performance of traditional Zhuang music, dancing, and singing. The songs and dances told stories about things like harvesting rice, finding a lover, and life in the villages. Some of the singers had theseincredible loud voices that could project for an incredibly long time. I've never heard anything like it before! After the show, we got to try on the colorful traditional clothes and costumes that the performers wear.On our final day in Guilin, we visited the Seven Star Parks, which are essentially seven different parks surrounding two pristine lakes. My favorite was the Solitary Beauty Peak in the Seven Star Cave Park, which had amazing views of forests, waterfalls, and karst hills from the top. I also really enjoyed Taohua Yuan, or the Peach Blossom River, where we got to leisurely float along the water in a little boat surrounded by beautiful flowers. Before we knew it, our amazing trip was over and it was time to head back to Beijing. I had such an incredible time in Guilin experiencing the jaw-dropping natural scenery, fascinating historical and cultural sights, and warm hospitality of the people.I made so many wonderful memories that I know I'll cherish forever. I can't wait to go back to Guilin again someday!篇3My Amazing Trip to GuilinLast summer, my family and I went on the most incredible trip to Guilin! Let me tell you all about our incredible journey! We started our trip by taking a high-speed train from our hometown to Guilin. The first thing thatstruck me was the fresh, clean air – it was so different from the city we lived in!Our first stop was the famous Elephant Trunk Hill. This incredible natural rock formation looks just like an elephant drinking water from a river. We took lots of fun photos, pretending to be the elephant's trunk or rider. The views of the surrounding hills and the Li River were breathtaking. The next day, we went on a cruise along the Li River. This was definitely the highlight of our trip! The Li River is known for its stunning karst mountain landscapes, with tall, unique peaks rising up from the winding river. Our tour guide told us that these mountains have inspired many Chinese painters and poets over the centuries. As our boat glided along the river, I felt like I was inside a beautiful Chinese painting.During the cruise, we stopped at a few small villages along the riverbanks. I was fascinated by the traditional architecture and the simple, peaceful way of life. We even got to see some fishermen using cormorant birds to catch fish – a traditional method that has been used for centuries! After the cruise, we visited the Reed Flute Cave, one of the most incredible caves I've ever seen. My name is Lucy and I'm a 6th grader. I just got back from the most amazing trip to Guilin with my family and I can't wait to tell you all about it! Guilin is a city in southern China that is famous for its beautiful karst hills and rivers. We went during my summer vacation and it was the best trip ever.First, we took a flight from our hometown to Guilin. I had never been on a plane before so I was really excited! The plane ride took a few hours but it went by really quickly since I got to watch movies and eat snacks. When we landed, the very first thing I noticed was how warm and humid it was compared to where we live. Guilin has a subtropical climate so it felt like we had arrived in the tropics! Our first stop was the famous Elephant Trunk Hill. It's called that because there is this huge rock formation that really looks like an elephant dipping its trunk into the river to drink water. How cool is that?! We took a little boat ride around the area to get a closer look. Our guide told us that the elephant's trunk used to be even longer but part of it fell off in a storm a really long time ago. I felt bad for the elephant, but it was still an awesome sight. The next day, we went on a cruise down the Li River. This was definitely the highlight of the whole trip! The Li River is knownfor its amazing karst mountain scenery. Karst mountains are made of limestone that has been slowly dissolved and eroded over millions of years by water, giving them their really unique shapes. Cruising down the river, we saw soaring peaks and cliffs covered in lush green vegetation. It looked like something straight out of a fantasy movie! Our guide said the misty hills were the inspiration for the landscapes in the classic Chinese painting "Along the River During Qingming Festival". I can totally see why - it felt like we were drifting through a living painting. One section of the river is nicknamed "Nine Horse Fresco Hill" because the mountain looks like a huge Chinese brush painting of nine horses racing side by side. As our boat rounded the bend, it really did look just like the horses were about to gallop right off the mountain! We saw fishermen drifting by on their bamboo rafts, farmers tending to rice paddies on the banks, and kids playing in the water. It was such a peaceful, beautiful scene. I could have stayed on that river cruise forever!Another super cool experience was visiting some of the caves in Guilin. The caves are formed when underground rivers carve tunnels and chambers out of the limestone rock over incredibly long periods of time. Inside, there were all sorts of intricate rock formations like stalactites and stalagmites in weirdshapes. Our guide called them "rock flowers" and I could see why - they almost looked like petrified gardens or crystal forests! One highlight was the huge cavern called the Water Celestial Palace. When they turned off all the lights, we could see the most amazing Galaxy of shimmering lights reflecting off the pools of water and cave surfaces. It felt like we were floating in outer space! On our last day, we had to get up really early to hike up one of the karst hills to watch the sunrise. It was tough hiking up all those steep stairs, but it was so worth it! Seeing the sun slowly rise over the misty hills and rivers was breathtaking. The sky turned the most incredible shades of pink, orange, and purple. I took about a million photos trying to capture it all but the pictures didn't do it justice - you really had to be there. All too soon, our amazing trip came to an end and it was time to head back home. I was really sad to leave Guilin behind but I have so many wonderful memories that I'll never forget. I dream about going back one day to go bamboo rafting down the Li River, go deeper into the cave systems, and learn more about the history and culture.Even though Guilin is on the other side of the world from where I live, it felt like stepping into a real-life fairy tale realm. The lush scenery, winding rivers, towering karst hills and unique cave formations made me feel like I was in a magical fantasy kingdom. If you ever get the chance to visit Guilin, you absolutely have to go! It's a natural masterpiece and one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. This trip gave me so many special memories that I'll cherish forever.Well, that's all for now friends! I'm off to start planning my next big adventure. I tried bamboo rice, stuffed zongzi dumplings, and this crazy delicious fried dough twist thing. Everything was so yummy! We also saw people performing Chinese operas and doing cool tricks. Our last day was spent hiking in Longsheng near the famous Longji Rice Terraces. These terraces were built by the Zhuang people on the slopes of towering mountains, so they looked like steps from far away. The nature there is just mind-blowing with the karst mountains, rivers, and caves. And the culture and history is really fascinating too.
