The development of facial makeup of Beijing Opera connected with the development of opera closely. There was “mask dance” in Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang Dynasties (420907), which could be the originator of facial makeup. Then actors found the mask not convenient for them to act. They began to paint their faces by greasepaints, pan bottom ashes, etc. As times flied, the facial makeup improved and varied in both patterns and colors. 肆 Henan Opera or Yu Opera豫剧 Yu Opera originated in Henan of Central China, is one of first five operas in China, is the first Chinese local operas today. 红脸：
表现忠贞、英勇的人物性格， 如：关羽。 《单刀会》中的人物，说法“红脸忠勇”
黑脸：
表现公正无私、直爽刚毅、勇猛 而智慧。如包公。
白脸：
表现阴险奸诈、疑诈、飞扬、 肃煞的人物形象；如曹操。
黄脸：
表示凶狠残暴，勇猛而爆躁； 如典韦。 《三国演义》中的人物，黄三块瓦。
蓝脸：
