Background At the present time, there is an urgent need for law on euthanasia. Euthanasia is forbidden in most countries, where doctors practice it secretly. How, in some countries, like Holland, mercy-killing is openly practised. In more and more countries a debate on the legality of euthanasia is now in full swing.
