Complete each of the statements with what you hear and choose A or B that explains the

T elephone Calls
Traveler: Excuse me, could you tell me where I can find a telephone booth for a call?
Old man: Y es, of course. There's one just around the corner. Actually you can find public phones in almost all the big stores, hotels, restaurants and gasoline stations.
Traveler: Thank you.
( Noises in the street...)
Traveler: Excuse me, sir. I'm new here. Could you show me how to make a phone call?
Man: Sure. Have you got any small change?
Traveler: Y es, I've got a quarter and some dimes and nickels.
Man: A quarter will do. Now, first insert the quarter into the slot. When you hear the dial tone. a steady buzzing sound, dial the number you want.
Traveler: If the line is busy...
Man: When you hear a short regular beeping sound about every second, you hang up and your coin will be returned to you. Then do it all over again.
Traveler: The trouble is I don't know the phone number of my friend.
Man: That's easy. Here are two phone books. This is what we call the "White Pages", which lists the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of people in the area.
Remember, the names are listed alphabetically with the last or surname first.
Traveler: What about the other book?
Man: This is the "Y ellow Pages", which lists all the businesses, hotels, restaurants, shops, theaters, schools and services in the area. This listing is arranged according to the
type of establishment.
Traveler: Thanks. I'll have a try.
Man: Go ahead.
