In order to reduce these differences, we should take some appropriate measures.In order to decrease the distance between Chinese higher education and American higher education, we should understand the difference of higher education between China and American, and absorb the advantages to profit from the American higher education and the development of our higher education. First of all, China's higher education should change from the "examination-oriented education" to "quality education". What is more, Chinese higher education should establish”people-oriented” education concepts. Besides, Student's sense of participation should be fully prominent in teaching practice. Teaching should focus on taking individualized teaching methods, strategies and techniques, widely apply the science teaching methods such as "free discussion", "self-study", make teachers and students exchange their ideas free, train students to learn initiative and creativity, promote students’ initiative and creativity. The social system is different between China and America, China is socialist society. America is capitalist society. So, from here we can see the social system is a factor of the differences between China and America. The daily manner is different, for example , when two Chinese meet on the street, they always say that “have you eaten breakfast、lunch and dinner yet.”Or “where are you going?” In China, it’ s normal, but , in America, someone heard that they think you’ ll treat them; or they will be angry and say that “ it’s none of your business.”In America, someone is called by using “Mr” + “family name”. In China, we can call someone by using his or her profession after family name such as “Zhang laoshi”, but in America, people don not use “Zhang teacher”. When an American people congratulate to Chinese: “you are very beautiful”. Or “your English is quite fluent”. Or something like that, Chinese people usually answered: “No, no”. Chinese people is modest!But, theAmerican people always say “thank you”! When two people meet Americans always say “hello”and talk about the weather or about other tings. Chinese always talk about the age, salary or marriage. If we ask American for it, they would think you are impolite.C ulture is different, the education is different between China and America, in primary school Chinese always spends six years, three years in junior school, three years in high school, four years in university or three years in college. The American always is five years, three years, four years and four years! Chinese students are famous as “exam”, they are called “examing machine”. Cause of the development is slow, the internet is late for China, so, Chinese people always don’t use the E-mail, but, the American people always send the E-mail to relate them. American people are very open, they can talk about “sex”anywhere, in addition to that, their mind also very free. But, Chinese people are very traditional, they always avoid talking that! In term of friendship, Chinese people have little intimates, they willing to offer the help in any situation, but, American people have lots of friends and intimates, they will become with the time goes by! The Chinese people don’t criticize people in public situation, in order to save their face, avoid conflicting but, American people always criticize people or givesuggestion in public and in their face. In America , people always do not interfere their children ,when their children was sixteen, but ,in China, people always look after, even their children are twenty something.T he social system is different, so the political and economic system is different, In China, the power belongs to people, but, in America, the power belongs to the government. America has the most development economy and industry in the world. The salary in America is higher than China, and the manufacture is very advanced, but, in China, it’s backward, because China is developing country, America is developed country. The military belongs to people in China they are ordered by Chinese communist party, they will protect the people when necessary, the America ,the military belongs to government, If someone damage their benefit, they will use the weapon to punish them, so the America is the first or second military country in the world. In the medical treatment, In America hospital, everyone respect the patient, even if the patient has little money, the patient also can be treated very well; but, in China, many people can’t afford the heavy medical fee, especially in countryside, the hospital will not treat you until you afford the medical fee, if you have not enough money, no hospital can accommodate you,sometimes even we can see someone is dead in mass media, because they don’t have money to cure, they miss the best time of healing. In this aspect, Chinese government has taken lots of measures to improve this phenomenon, China has been taking a lot of measures about the reform of medical system. The main reason is China has so many people, so, the reform of medical system is very hard to carry out, but, I believe my country, she will be more powerful and prosperous!
