Reflections on "Pushing Hands""Pushing Hands" is a film that left me profoundly moved and thinking. It's not just a martial arts movie, but a profound exploration of human nature, relationships, and the quest for inner peace. Directed by the talented Wong Jing, the film stars Andy Lau and Tony Leung as two martial arts masters from different backgrounds who are brought together by fate. The storyline is engaging and thought-provoking. It weaves together themes of rivalry, respect, and the search for personal growth. The characters are well-developed, with each having their own unique traits and challenges. Andy Lau's character, Master Zhang, is a disciplined and focused martial artist who values tradition and honor above all else. On the other hand, Tony Leung's character, Master Li, is more open-minded andwilling to experiment with new ideas, even if they contradict his own beliefs. The fight scenes are breathtaking, choreographed with precision and executed with incredible skill. But what truly sets this movie apart is its exploration of the emotional and psychological complexities of the characters. The film asks questions about the role of martial arts in modern society, and how it can be used not just as a means of self-defense but also as a tool for inner growth and understanding. What struck me most about "Pushing Hands" is its message of tolerance and understanding. In a world full of differences and conflicts, the film reminds us that true strength lies not in physical prowess but in the ability to embrace and learn from others. Master Zhang and Master Li's journey from rivals to friends is a powerful testament to this philosophy. The film also touches on the importance of balance in life. Whether it's in martial arts or in our daily lives, finding that perfect balance between discipline and flexibility, betweentradition and innovation, is crucial for personal growth and happiness. In conclusion, "Pushing Hands" is not just a great martial arts movie; it's a profound exploration of human nature and the quest for inner peace. It left me feeling inspired and motivated to seek that balance in my own life, and to embrace the differences that make us all unique.

201045639222Give me a chance, I will give a wonder back----- The Shawshank Redemption电影观后感Someone says this is a male film, because there are almost no female roles in the film. Someone says this is an inspirational film, because it passes the belief of never giving up. Someone says this is a legendary film, because it fully demonstrates the brilliance of human nature. The Shawshank Redemption is an American drama film directed by Frank Darabont in 1994. It is a classic film I have seen and I read the book The Shawshank Redemption in high school, The story begins with the trial of a young banker, Andy Dufrense, who victimized by circumstantial evidence. The Shawshank where people there all had been in the prison for ten years, they lived here for years without hope, and they lived in each small prison, where nobody knew what was their dream, what was their hope. Like the old man said: “Some birds aren't meant to be caged, but most birds will choose to stand it”. They had tried so many times to get away but they never finished it, at last they gave up. Nonetheless, Andy tried, and he had the bright brain, Spirit of perseverance and the most important thing----hope.Hope--- never give upRed:” Hope is a dangerous thing, and it is the root of mental anguish”. As he had been heavily squeezed for more than 30 years in prison, he was qualified to say this. Because when the first day he got in the prison, the warden said: "give the soul to God, I have the body.” However, Andy told him: “Remember, hope is a good thing, even the best thing, and no good thing ever dies.” Then Andy spent more than 20 years in digging a tunnel which Red thought it was unable to drill though spent 600 years on it. At last he got out of the prison by the tunnel.Through the film, the part impressed me most was when Andy got out of the jail. He could not help shouting in the heavy rain. He extended his arms in front of himself as if he were welcoming the fresh air and the freedom. At that moment, I saw that confidence would win the darkness; I saw the power of hope, and I found out thatthe most important thing to success was never giving up! When Andy in tunnel, it also was the darkest time, stench surrounded him, couldn’t see anything in front. I thought at that moment he must tell himself: “Hope is a good thing; maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!” And he didn’t think too much, just insisted in crawling, because the hope was in his heart.Freedom ---- catch it before lose itThere was a Scene when the two Italian women were singing 《Le Nozze di Figaro》, Prisoners didn’t know what they were singing, In fact, no one wanted to know. But they lost in the voice; the voice flew so highly that hit the cloud top. The voice like a beautiful bird freely flew in the sky, and then flew into the gray prison and all prisoners in the prison felt moment of freedom.Prisoners are the people do really understand how important and valuable the freedom is, as ordinary people we can not realize the pain of loss of freedom. But it is wise of you to cherish it, before you lose it.Friendship---give you a handThis is also a movie about friendship, not loveIn my opinion, without Red’s help, Andy couldn’t get out of the prison successfully; he could not breathe the fresh air out of the prison, neither. The friendships between men in prison shocked me. The friendship between Andy and Red was built under the wall, but it seemed purer and cleaner than anyone’s in the world. They were both introvert, but they knew each other well. So when they met each other on the small island they smiled happily and brightly.I think success is derived from friendship, or teamwork. Friendship is one of the most important relationships in the world. Marx and Engels are famous not for their theory but also for their great friendship. Without Engels’s help《Das Kapital》couldn’t be finished. Without Engels’s help Marx might ha d starved to death before he became famous.Someone says it’s a movie about hope, I agree with this opini on. It tells me never lose hope and I should stick to my faith, because I can hold my fate. In fact, everyone lives in a prison, which has its own rule. It is the rule that imprison us, not the walls. You can’t change the rules, but you can struggle for yo ur own life, so never give up!。
Push Hands" is a profound exploration of the intricacies of human relationships, culture, and the quest for personal understanding. The film masterfully captures the essence of tai chi as not merely a martial art but a philosophy and a way of life. Through the lens of its characters, we see how the practice of push hands serves as a metaphor for the delicate balance between yielding and assertiveness in relationships. The central conflict revolves around the protagonist, a young man struggling to find his place within a traditional world that often feels suffocating. His interactions with others, particularly his mentor, illuminate the challenges one faces when trying to reconcile personal desires with familial expectations. The mentor’s teachin gs emphasize the importance of intuition and adaptability, qualities that arereflected in the nature of push hands itself, where a practitioner must be attuned to their partner's movements and intentions. This idea resonates deeply, highlighting how understanding and empathy can lead to harmony, both inmartial practice and in life.Visually, the film is stunning. The choreography of the push hands sequences is graceful and fluid, embodying the philosophical underpinnings of tai chi. Each movement is deliberate, demonstrating a deep respect for the art form as well as the emotional currents flowing between the characters. The cinematography captures the serenity of the practice, contrasting with the internal turmoil experienced by the protagonist. The slow-motion scenes of practicing push hands reflect a deeper understanding of time and presence, conveying that mastery comes not just from physical abilitybut also from emotional maturity. Moreover, the film does not shy away from addressing the cultural tensions experienced by individuals navigating the modern world against the backdrop of tradition. The generational divide is palpable, and the protagonist's journey is emblematic of many young people today who grapple with the expectations imposed by their elders. By incorporating themes of identity, the narrative invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences of balancing tradition with self-actualization.Ultimately, "Push Hands" is a thought-provoking narrative about connection, growth, and the art of living. The lessons derived from tai chi resonate beyond the practice itself, urging viewers to reflect on their relationships and the ways in which they engage with the world. It's a film that encourages a deeper understanding of the interdependence of life and the gentle strength required to navigate both personal and communal spheres. In a world that often emphasizes aggression and competition, the film offers arefreshing perspective on grace, understanding, and the power of yielding.。

Title: The Art of Persuasion: A Non-Linear Reflection。
1. Embracing the Unpredictability:As I watched the film "The Pusher," I was captivated by the unorthodox world of persuasion, not bound by neat paragraphs or logical sequences. It's like stepping into a chaotic marketplace, where every move is a strategic pivot. The characters, these '推手,' are masters of serendipity, their words and actions defying conventional wisdom.2. The Art of Subversion:Each scene was a microcosm of the power of subversion. They didn't simply tell you what to think, they challenged your assumptions, making you question the very foundations of your beliefs. It's a reminder that sometimes, the most effective persuasion is the one that upends your expectations.3. The Art of Human Connection:What struck me was the human element. These 'pushers' weren't just cold strategists, they understood the emotional triggers. They didn't manipulate, they seduced. Their ability to connect on a personal level was as crucial as their verbal prowess. It's a lesson in empathy, not just manipulation.4. The Price of Persuasion:The film didn't shy away from the darker side. The cost of manipulating others, the price of winning at all costs, was a stark reminder of the moral complexities involved. It's a harsh reality, a harsh lesson in the art of power.5. The Evolution of the Skill:In today's digital age, the art of persuasion has evolved. It's not just about words, but about understanding the algorithms, the nuances of social media. It's a blendof psychology, technology, and a touch of guile. The'pushers' of the future are the ones who can navigate these digital landscapes. In conclusion, "The Pusher" is a thought-provoking exploration of the art of persuasion. It's a rollercoaster ride of emotions, a dance between reason and manipulation. It's a reminder that the game of influence is never as simple as it seems, and that's what makes it truly fascinating.。
To be honest, I don’t think I can tell the cultural difference s between East and West very well. Since I have grown up in China and I never go abroad. On the other hand, I didn’t make too much communication with foreigners when I was at school. So I just know the Western culture from some films, newspapers and magazines. After seeing the film -- 《Pushing Hands》, I got some strong feelings from myself. First, I found that western young people prefer to live their own life, that is to say, they don’t like to live with their own parents. But in Chinese traditional culture, parents brought up their children, then their children should provide for their own parents when they grew up, which even means living with their parents. Chinese considers this behavior o bedient and responsible. But western people don’t think so. They want to have their private space. The second difference is about the education. Western people think that children should be brave, strong and independent. If their children fell down, they w ouldn’t help them, they would encourage their children stand up by themselves. By contrast, Chinese parent give too much fondness to their children so that their children aren’t independent enough. And those children are excessively independent on their parents. In fact, that is harmful to those children. On the other hand, western parents encourage their children to be imaginative, for example, let them watch cartoons. But Chinese parent think it violent, and they think it harmful to their children. The third difference is about the details in daily life. Such as the way of having fun, having food, doing sports and so on. In this film, the Chinese old man, Mr. Zhu is proficient in Chinese traditional culture, he is not only a Tai chi master, but also a person who is good at Chinese Calligraphy and air—pocket therapy. He likes listening Beijing Opera and playing Tai Chi, and he used using a big bowl to having meals, he especially likes to eat meat. But the American woman—Martha, she is a novelist, she likes making up many imaginative stories. She used having fast food, and she likes eating some vegetables. All of those differences reflect the cultural difference between East and West.In fact, there are many other differences between East and West in reality. Such as the way of making communication, thinking, behaving and so on. Generally speaking, these differences contain social consciousness, historical cultures, customs and so on various aspects of human society all features. As far as I can see, the process of discovering the differences really let me enjoy. I think it very interesting. At last, I want to say that we should value culture whether it is from East or from West in a right attitude. We can’t worship everything foreign. At the same time, we can’t be blind rejection of foreign things, either.。
