以下为《Unit 8 Body language》的课文内容:

Text A

Lesson 1

Body language is a way of communication without using words. It is believed that over 55% of communication is through our body language. So, understanding body language can help us understand what others are thinking and feeling.

Now, let's learn more about body language.

Facial expressions can tell us a lot about what people are feeling. For example, when someone smiles, we usually think they are happy. And when someone frowns, we usually think they are angry or unhappy.

Eye contact is another important aspect of body language. In many cultures, making eye contact is considered a sign of respect and attentiveness. But in some cultures, avoiding eye contact shows respect and politeness.

Gestures are also a form of body language. For example, nodding our heads means "yes" in most cultures, while shaking our heads means "no". Thumbs up is a positive gesture, while thumbs down

is negative.

Posture is the way we sit or stand. How we place our body can show how confident or relaxed we are. For example, standing up straight with our shoulders back can make us appear more confident, while slouching or hunching our shoulders can make us appear less confident.

Overall, body language is an important part of communication. By paying attention to other people's body language, we can better understand their thoughts and emotions.
