商务函电的作用,一是索取信息或传递信息,二是处理商务交流中有关事宜,三是联络与沟通感情。

商务英语函电也是公司与公司之间用以联系顾客的工具,在对外贸易中发挥着沟通买卖双方的媒介作用;它涉及外贸业务中的各个环节包括建立业务关系、询盘、发盘、还盘、接受、执行订单、装运、保险、付款、索赔等。
