1My Life as a 6th Grader in ShenzhenHi there! My name is Xiao Ming and I'm a 6th grade student at Shenzhen Experimental School. I live right here in the heart of Shenzhen with my mom, dad, and little sister Mei Mei. Let me tell you all about my daily life!Every morning, my mom wakes me up at 6:30am to get ready for school. I brush my teeth, wash my face, get dressed in my school uniform, and head to the kitchen for breakfast. My favorite is when my mom makes jianbing - those crispy fried pancakes with egg, sauce, and crunchy wonton strips inside. Yum!After breakfast, I pack up my backpack with all my books, notebooks, pencils, and lunch box. My dad always checks to make sure I have everything before we head out the door at 7:15am. The subway station is just a five minute walk from our apartment building. I follow the crowds of students, office workers, and families all rushing to their destinations.Once I'm on the subway, I put in my headphones and listen to music or an audiobook to pass the time during the 25 minute ride to school. When I get off at the Hongli station, I join my friends and we walk the last ten minutes together, dodging things like delivery scooters on the sidewalks. Shenzhen is such a busy, crowded city!We arrive at school by 8am and quickly change into our indoor shoes before lining up for the morning assembly in the courtyard. We all stand at attention as the national anthem plays over the speakers. Then the principal gives announcements and reminds us about upcoming tests or events. Finally, we're dismissed to our classrooms at 8:20am.My favorite class is English because I love learning new vocabulary words and practicing conversation. My English teacher, Miss Wang, has us do fun role-playing activities where we order food at a restaurant or go shopping. I'm determined to become fluent in speaking and writing English. I want to travel the world someday!Other classes I have are math, Chinese language, science, history, art, music, and P.E. Math is probably my hardest subject. Fractions, long division, word problems - they make my brain hurt! Maybe I'll appreciate math more when I'm older. Duringour 40 minute lunch break, my friends and I reheat the food our parents packed for us in the microwave and eat together in the cafeteria. After classes end at 3:30pm, I attend my extracurricular activities a couple days a week. On Mondays, I go to Chineseyo-yo class to learn cool tricks with the diabolo and circular rings. On Wednesdays, I take piano lessons. My dream is to become good enough to perform at one of the big theaters in Shenzhen! When I get home around 5pm, I spend a couple hours on my homework for the night. I hate when we have huge projects or essays due. My parents are always nagging me to manage my time better. Maybe I do procrastinate a little too much...once my homework is done, I finally have some free time to myself!I love gaming on my computer or my dad's old PlayStation. My favorites are the action-adventure games where you go on epic quests and solve puzzles to defeat the enemy. I've gotten pretty good at them over the years. Occasionally, I'll video chat with online friends from other countries while we play games together. That's one way I practice my English conversation skills! For dinner, we'll either cook at home or order delivery from one of the many restaurants nearby. I'm obsessed with pizza, burgers, and all sorts of international cuisines thanks toShenzhen being such a global city. After dinner, I take a shower and then relax by watching videos,TV shows, or livestreams until bedtime at 9:30pm.On the weekends, I sleep in as late as I can! Then I'll often meet up with my friends and we'll explore different neighborhoods, go shopping at the malls, or catch a movie. We have to be careful crossing streets because the traffic in Shenzhen is no joke! There's cars, buses, bikes, and electric scooters everywhere you look.My parents also like taking me and Mei Mei on little trips around the area. We've visited parks, museums, beaches, and hiked some of the trails in the countryside just outside the city. You'd never know you were so close to a gigantic metropolis like Shenzhen! Sometimes we'll take the high speed rail篇2My First English Lesson in Sixth GradeWow, I can't believe I'm already in the sixth grade! It feels like just yesterday I was a tiny little kid starting elementary school. Now, I'm one of the big kids, and I'm ready to take on all the new challenges that come with being a sixth-grader.One of the things I was most excited about this year was having English lessons. I've been learning English since kindergarten, but this year, we're going to really dive deep into the language. I've always loved learning new words and phrases in English, and I can't wait to become even better at speaking, reading, and writing in this awesome language. On the first day of English class, our teacher, Ms. Johnson, greeted us with a big smile. She seems really nice and patient, which is good because I know English can be tricky sometimes. After we all introduced ourselves, she explained that we would be learning a lot of new vocabulary words, grammar rules, and even some fun idioms and expressions this year. One of the first things we did was play a game called "Word Bingo." Ms. Johnson gave us each a bingo card filled with different English words, and then she would read out definitions or show us pictures, and we had to find the matching word on our card. It was a really fun way to learn new vocabulary, and I even won a round! The prize was a cute little pencil with my name on it, which I thought was super cool.Next, we learned about different types of nouns – common nouns, proper nouns, and even some collective nouns like "herd" and "flock." We practiced identifying them in sentences and thenplayed a game where we had to sort different word cards into the correct noun categories. I got a little mixed up with some of the proper nouns at first, but Ms. Johnson was really helpful and patient in explaining the rules to me.After that, we moved on to learning about adjectives. Adjectives are words that describe nouns, like "big," "small," "happy," or "red." We played a game where one person would pick an object in the classroom, and the rest of us had to take turns describing it using as many adjectives as possible. It was really fun to see how creative everyone could get with their descriptions!Throughout the lesson, Ms. Johnson kept things interactive and engaging. She even taught us a few simple English songs and rhymes, which made it easier to remember certain grammar rules or vocabulary words. I found myself humming the "Noun Song" all the way home on the bus!Overall, my first English lesson in sixth grade was a blast. I learned so many new things, and I can't wait to keep building on that knowledge throughout the year. English is such a cool language, and I'm determined to become really good at it. Who knows, maybe one day I'll even be able to read my favorite books or watch my favorite movies without subtitles!I know that learning a new language can be challenging at times, but I'm up for the task. With Ms. Johnson's guidance and my own hard work and dedication, I'm confident that by the end of the year, I'll be speaking, reading, and writing in English like a pro. Bring it on, sixth grade English – I'm ready for you!篇3Title: My Wonderful Life in ShenzhenHey there! I'm Lei, a sixth-grader at Shenzhen Experimental School. Let me tell you about my life in this awesome city!Shenzhen is the coolest place ever. It's a modern, bustling metropolis with towering skyscrapers, vibrant shopping malls, and exciting attractions. But what I love most about it is the perfect blend of urban flair and natural beauty. The city is surrounded by lush green hills and pristine beaches. Sometimes, my family and I go hiking in the mountains or spend a day at the seaside. It's so refreshing to escape the city's hustle and bustle and immerse ourselves in nature.Speaking of my family, they are the best! My dad is an engineer, and my mom is a teacher. They both work really hard to provide for us, but they always make time for family activities. On weekends, we often go to one of Shenzhen's many parks orvisit interesting museums. My favorite is the Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum, where I get to see all sorts of cool exhibits and interactive displays. I'm fascinated by science and technology, and this museum fuels my curiosity and love for learning.School is another highlight of my life in Shenzhen. My school is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including computer labs, science labs, and a massive library. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated, and they make learning fun and engaging. I particularly enjoy my English classes because I love communicating in this universal language and learning about different cultures. One of the best things about living in Shenzhen is the delicious food! From mouth-watering Cantonese cuisines to international flavors, there's something to satisfy every palate. My favorite local dish is wonton noodles – the dumplings are so juicy, and the broth is simply divine. Whenever my family craves international cuisine, we head to one of the many diverse restaurants in the city. I'm a big fan of Italian food, especially pizza and pasta.Shenzhen is also a shopper's paradise! The city is home to numerous shopping malls, markets, and boutiques sellingeverything from trendy clothes to exotic souvenirs. My friends and I love exploring the markets, where we can find unique handcrafted items and bargain for great deals. It's so much fun!Despite all the modern marvels, Shenzhen also has a rich cultural heritage. The city hosts numerous festivals and events throughout the year, celebrating Chinese traditions and customs. One of my favorite events is the Shenzhen Lantern Festival, where the streets are adorned with beautiful, intricately designed lanterns. The atmosphere is electric, and the vibrant colors and lights create a magical ambiance.Life in Shenzhen is truly wonderful. It's a dynamic,ever-evolving city that offers countless opportunities for growth, learning, and fun. I feel incredibly fortunate to be growing up in such an amazing place. Who knows what the future holds? Maybe one day, I'll become an engineer or a scientist and contribute to Shenzhen's technological advancements. Or perhaps I'll travel the world, experiencing different cultures and sharing the best of Shenzhen with others. Whatever path I choose, I know my roots in this incredible city will always be a part of me.篇4My Awesome City ShenzhenHi there! My name is Lily and I'm a sixth-grader at Shenzhen Experimental School. I absolutely love living in the amazing city of Shenzhen! It's such a vibrant and exciting place, especially for a kid like me. Let me tell you all about it.First off, Shenzhen is known for being a high-tech hub and it totally lives up to that reputation. Everywhere you look, there are tall, gleaming skyscrapers and modern buildings. My favorite is the Ping An Finance Center – it's one of the tallest buildings in the city and has this really cool twisted design. At night, the whole building lights up in different colors and patterns. It's so pretty! Our subway system is also really advanced. The trains are super fast and run on time. Plus, they have these cool interactive maps that show you exactly where you are and which stop is next. My friends and I love taking the subway to Window of the World to check out the miniature landmarks from different countries. The Eiffel Tower there is my favorite! Then there are the beaches. Shenzhen has some beautiful golden sand beaches along the coast. Dameisha Beach is one of the most popular. I have so many great memories of building sandcastles, playing frisbee, and splashing in the water with myfamily there. The sunsets over the ocean are just breathtaking too.But you know what I love most about Shenzhen? The food! We have the most incredible variety of delicious foods from all over China and the world. My favorites are jiaozi (dumplings), tangyuan (sweet rice balls), and banana fritters from the street food stalls. Yum! Shenzhen is also known for its barbecue and hotpot restaurants which are super fun to go to with a big group. There's always something going on and new things to explore in Shenzhen. We have big amusement parks like Window of the World and Splendid China Folk Village. They're filled with all kinds of cool exhibits and rides. For Chinese New Year, there are incredible light shows, fireworks, dragon dances, and festivals all around the city. It's absolute chaos but in the best way possible!I feel so lucky to call this vibrant, high-tech, food-loving city my home. As I get older, I know there will be more and more opportunities for me here in Shenzhen. Maybe I'll end up working in one of the cool startups or big tech companies. Or maybe I'll open my own awesome restaurant or business. Who knows? One thing's for sure though - my heart will always belong to Shenzhen. It's just the best city ever!篇5My Sixth Grade YearHello, my name is Xiaoming and I'm a sixth grade student at Shenzhen Experimental School. I wanted to write about my experiences this year as a sixth grader. It has been quite an exciting and challenging year!At the start of the school year, I was both nervous and eager to begin the final year of primary school. Sixth grade means taking more difficult classes and having higher expectations from our teachers. It also means preparing for the transition to middle school next year, which seems both scary and exhilarating. One of the biggest challenges this year has been the increased homework load compared to previous years. My backpack feels much heavier with all the textbooks and notebooks I have to lug back and forth daily. The homework assignments require much more effort and time too. My parents are always reminding me about the importance of developing good study habits for middle school. I do my best, but sometimes I get frustrated when I don't understand something and the homework piles up.Despite the challenges, I have enjoyed learning new topics and concepts across my different subjects. In math, we began studying ratios, probability, data analysis and pre-algebra concepts. It has been mind-bending but rewarding when I master a new skill. In science, we explored chemistry, physics force and motion concepts through many hands-on experiments and projects. My favorite was the baking soda and vinegar volcano! For Chinese literature, we read classical poems and analyzed deeper meaning and literary devices. English class has focused on reading comprehension, vocabulary building, grammar skills and writing longer essays and stories. One of my favorite units in English was learning about different cultures and traditions around the world. It was fascinating to learn about holidays, foods, customs and values across many countries. I loved sharing about Chinese traditions while also learning about cultures I knew very little about before. Geography became much more interesting when connected to the cultural lessons. I now want to travel to experience some of these cultures firsthand. My English teacher also introduced new games and activities to make language learning more interactive and fun. We played educational online games to reinforce grammar, did role playconversations to practice speaking, and participated in fun group competitions. One week we had an English Language Arts Olympics where we competed in spelling bees, tongue twisters, impromptu speech competitions and other challenging activities. My personal highlight was winning the class vocabulary bee!Outside of academics, sixth grade opened up more social opportunities and extracurricular activities. At the beginning of the year, I tried out for the school basketball team. While I didn't make the top team, I was selected for the developmental squad which was very exciting. Twice a week, we had extended practices to work on our dribbling, shooting, passing and overall skills. The coaches were very patient with us while still pushing us to give maximum effort. Our team even played a few matches against other local schools. Although we didn't win, the experience built my confidence and love for the sport. In terms of social life, my closest friends and I spent a lot of our free time this year hanging out, playing online games, and discussing the latest trends in music, video games, movies and social media. Sometimes we would explore different neighborhoods in Shenzhen by bus or metro to try new foods and desserts. My favorite was this amazing French bakery we discovered that had the most incredible chocolate croissants. Wespent many evenings hanging out there sipping hot chocolate and snacking on their delicious pastries. As the year went on, I also experienced more independence and responsibilities. My parents started allowing me to take public transportation home from school activities without supervision. I had to be very diligent about time management between completing homework, fulfilling household chores, and making time for personal interests. Time management andself-discipline definitely became major areas of growth for me this year. Now, as we approach summer break, I have conflicting emotions. On one hand, I am excited for the freedom of no homework, staying up late, sleeping in, and having abundant free time. However, I will miss the routine of school, my friends, and frankly, the sense of security and predictability this year provided. Sixth grade has been a stepping stone into becoming a more mature, independent, and capable student. While I had many highs and lows, I can recognize how much I have grown academically and personally. In just a few months, I will be starting a new chapter by becoming a middle school student. The transition will come with many new challenges like navigating a larger campus, takingclasses frommultiple teachers, dealing with more rigorous curriculum, making new friends, and experiencing increased independence. However, thanks to my sixth grade experiences, I feel prepared to take on these new obstacles and opportunities. Sixth grade taught me perseverance, diligence, social skills,self-advocacy and so much more.I am grateful to my parents, teachers, and friends for supporting me through this pivotal year. While I look forward to the adventures ahead, I will also cherish the memories of my final days as an elementary school kid. Shenzhen Experimental School has provided me a strong foundation to go forth and pursue my dreams in middle school and beyond. Thank you, sixth grade, for an incredible year! I will miss you!篇6My Life in ShenzhenHi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm a 6th grader at Shenzhen Experimental School. I was born and raised right here in the amazing city of Shenzhen. Even though I'm just 12 years old, I feel so lucky to call this incredible place my home.Shenzhen is known as a modern metropolis, but it has such an interesting history too. Did you know Shenzhen used to be atiny fishing village? It wasn't until 1980 that it became one of China's first Special Economic Zones. In just a few decades, it transformed into a global hub of innovation and finance. Wild, right? These days, Shenzhen is a city reaching for the skies –literally! We have so many jaw-dropping skyscrapers here, including the second-tallest building in China. Wherever I look, there are glass and steel towers soaring all around me. At night, the neon lights make the city feel like a futuristic wonderland.Despite all the urban buzz, there's tons of beautiful nature in Shenzhen too. My favorite spot is Lianhuashan Park with its lush forests, winding trails, and breathtaking waterfalls. Whenever I need a break from the hustle and bustle, I love escaping there for some peace and quiet. The fresh air is amazing! As you can probably tell, I'm really proud to be from Shenzhen. Our city is known for being at the forefront of technology and design. We have awesome tech companies here like Tencent, Huawei, and DJI (they make those cool drones!). Even young kids like me are exposed to all the latest gadgets and gizmos. It's so fascinating!Speaking of technology, let me tell you about my usual day. I wake up around 6:30am and the first thing I do is check mysmartphone for any messages from friends or updates on my favorite video games. Then it's time to grab some breakfast – my favorites are dāngrēnbǐng (egg pancakes) or shāobǐngyóutiáo (those delicious deep-fried dough sticks). After fueling up, I hop on the metro to get to school. The metro system in Shenzhen is incredible – the stations are spotless and the trains are smooth and ultra-modern. No more bumpy bus rides for this kid! I'm usually playing games on my tablet or watching videos during my short commute. At school, we have a heavy focus on math, science, and coding from an early age. A lot of my classmates are already talking about wanting to be engineers, programmers, or entrepreneurs when they grow up. We have awesome facilities like 3D printing labs, robotics workshops, and even a room with VR headsets. Sometimes regular classes feel a bit boring compared to all the hands-on tech stuff! One of the best parts of living in Shenzhen is how amazing the food scene is. We have thousands of restaurants serving up dishes from all over China and the world. On weekends, my friends and I love grabbing sugar cane juice or feasting on shellfish and satay skewers from the hawker stalls. And you can'tbeat authentic Cantonese cuisine – my mouth waters just thinking about dishes like dimsum, wonton noodles, or milk tea!In my free time, I'm either gaming online with friends, watching the latest movies (Shenzhen has tons of huge fancy theaters), or exploring different neighborhoods. The city is quite sprawling so there's always some fresh Instagrammable spot to check out. I also take kung fu lessons which is a great way to stay active while learning about Chinese culture.Every few months, my parents take me and my little sister on fun outings around the Greater Bay Area. We'll spend a day in Hong Kong riding the iconic double decker trams and eating egg tarts. Or we'll visit Macau to wanderaround the historic Portuguese ruins and colorful city squares. The mix of East and West is really cool.I have to admit, the summers in Shenzhen can be brutally hot and humid. That's when you'll find me and my friends hanging out at the massive indoor shopping malls, playing arcade games and watching the latest movie releases in 4D! Some malls here are so giant they have entire themed zones like Tencent's fun video game exhibition area.In the evenings, I love strolling around the city and soaking in the neon sights. The Shenzhen skyline is always glittering withlights and lasers – it's such an electrifying vibe. My friends and I will pop into the hawker stalls to sample yummy snacks like stinky tofu, sugar peachy, and quail eggs on a stick (I know it sounds weird but it's delicious!)That's a little glimpse into my daily life here in Shenzhen. Even though my family doesn't have a lot of money, I feel so fortunate to live in such an exciting, opportunity-filled city. With its blend of innovation and deep-rooted tradition, Shenzhen really does feel like the future. I can't wait to see what other amazing changes will happen by the time I'm an adult. Maybe I'll even start my own tech company here one day! Who knows what's possible in the hustling, bustling powerhouse of Shenzhen.。

Let’s read astory. Les’rea d a story.
Let’s talk.
Let’s read a story.
What’s your favourite fruit ?
