Brief Introduction to Some Festivals
§Harvest Festival
• Christians celebrate harvest festivals in the autumn. It is a thanks giving to God for his beautiful and fruitful creation.
Lent
• Lent is the 40 day period before Easter beginning with Ash Wednesday, the weekdays of this period being devoted to fasting and penitence.
• Easter is the season in which Christians remember the death and resurrection （复活） of Jesus.
May Day (1st May)
• It is the time of year when summer is coming and flowers and trees start to blossom. It is said to be a time of love and romance.
• It is the most important festival in the Christian year.
