一、Teaching objectives:
1. Ss are able to comprehend and use the greetings on phone , phone calls;

Other words: fine, Christmas holiday, want to, winter holiday, the
Big Ben, London Eye, the Bird’s Nest.

4. Be able to finish the exercises on the book.

一、Teaching contents:
Part 1. Look and read.
Part 2. Read, write, and say.
二、Teaching procedure:
Step One: Warming-up.
1. Greetings.
2. 激活学生已有知识。

T: I’m Mr. Zhou. What’s your name? S1/ S2/ S3/…: I’m …
T: How are you ? S1/ S2/ S3/…: I’m fine , thanks.
T: Nice to meet you. S1/ S2/ S3/…: Nice to meet you, too.
Step Two: Presentation.
1. Show some photos and introduce our good friends:
T: Who are they? They’re our good friends.
T: He’s Danny. She’s Janice. What are they doing?
T: They’re talking on phone. What are they talking about on phone?
T: Let’s listen and watch.
(1) Listen and watch first time and feel the greetings on phone.
(2) Listen and watch again, then give the students some questions:
Danny is going to ________. A: BeijingB: London
Danny wants to look at _______.
A: the Great Wall (长城) B: the Big Ben (大本钟)
2. After that, let’s read and learn the new words and sentences one by one.
speak---speaking, Christmas holiday, coming, look at, the Big Ben…
3. Bring in pictures of different places in the world. And introduce
the famous places in the world.
4.文化渗透：
教师在进行学习电话用语时，可以渗透中西方的打电话用语
文化差异：西方打电话语言比较规范和有一个固定的模式，并且非常有礼貌；而中方打电话语言比较随意，有时不讲究礼貌用语；
4. Read and try to understand the meanings of greetings on phone.
5. Check some students to read in role.
Step Three: Practice.
1. Act out the dialogue in pairs:
(1)师生角色扮演练习：
A: Hello, may Ispeak to……please?
B: Speaking.
A: Hi, ….This is …..How are you?
B: Hi, ….I’m fine, thanks.
………
(2) 学生之间模仿课文内容进行演练。

2. Make a new phone call to consolidate:
Show some pictures and key sentences. Ss try to make a new phone call in pairs.
3. Read and say, try to finish exercises on Page 67.
4. Try to understand the meanings of the dialogue, and Act it out the with the students.
Step Four: Extension.
1. Make a new phone call dialogue .
Ben: Hello. May I speak _______ Lisa, please ?
Lisa: ____________.
Ben: Hi, Lisa. This _____ Ben. How are you ?
Lisa: Hi, Ben. I’m fine, thanks.
Ben: New Year’s Day is coming. I’m going ______HongKong with my family.
Lisa: Great! What do you want ______do there?
Ben: I want to look ______the Disneyland Park.Goodbye, Lisa. Lisa: Bye, Ben.
2. Show the dialogue on the ppt and try to finish it.
3. Pair work.
4. Ask some groups to act out.
Step Five: Summary and Homework.
1. Read and try to remember the dialogue on book.
2. Try to make a phone call with your parents or good friends, and
try to write down on exercise book.
