Whenever I'm feeling sad or upset, she always knows just what to say to make me feel better. She gives the warmest, most comforting hugs that make all my worries melt away. She's read so many books and learned so much from her life experiences. I love listening to her stories about growing up on a farm, going to college, and raising her own kids. She always has great advice to share, whether it's about school, friends, or just life in general. But my grandma isn't just smart – she's also really fun and silly! She loves telling jokes and playing games with us grandkids. One of our favorite things to do is have dance parties in herliving room, where we crank up the music and just let loose. My grandma has some serious dance moves for a 72-year-old!Another thing I really admire about my grandma is how hardworking and determined she is. Even though she's retired now, she used to work as a nurse for many years. She would often work long hours and overnight shifts, but she never complained. She just did her job with a smile, helping people and making a difference in their lives. My grandma is also incredibly talented and creative. She's an amazing cook and baker, and she's always whipping up delicious treats for us. Her chocolate chip cookies are out of this world! She's also a gifted artist and loves painting beautiful landscapes and portraits. You're the best grandma a kid could ever ask for!篇6My Awesome Big SisterI have an amazing big sister named Emily. She's 16 years old and just started her junior year of high school. Even though she's a teenager now, she's still really fun and we get along great. I look up to her a lot and I'm going to tell you all about why she's so awesome.First of all, Emily is super smart. She gets straight A's in all her classes without even trying that hard. Math, science, English, history - you name it and she aces it. I don't know how she does it! Our parents never have to nag her about homework or studying. She just automatically gets it done. I really admire how dedicated she is to her schoolwork.Emily is also incredibly talented when it comes to sports. Her main thing is soccer - she's been playing competitive club soccer since she was 8 years old. She's a forward and she's scored more goals than I can count over the years. Her soccer coaches are always saying how she's one of the most skilled players they've ever trained. Emily has gotten a bunch of awards and trophies from all her soccer tournaments and championships. But it's not just soccer - Emily is an all-around athletic superstar. She runs cross country in the fall and plays basketball in the winter for her high school teams. I've seen her outrun and outshoot kids way bigger than her. She makes it look so easy! I'm decent at sports myself, but nowhere near as good as my big sis.Another awesome thing about Emily is how creative and artistic she is. She's a really good artist and is always doodling or sketching in her notebook during her free time. Emily is especially good at drawing realistic portraits of people. Once formy dad's birthday, she drew a surprising picture of him that looked exactly like a photograph. We were all amazed by her talent.Emily also loves creative writing and is incredible at it. Every year she enters the big storytelling contest at her school and usually wins one of the top prizes. Her stories are so descriptive and imaginative. She has such a gift for creating vivid characters and fictional worlds. I've read some of her short stories and they're better than a lot of books I've read!My big sister isn't just talented though - she's also one of the nicest, most caring people you'll ever meet. Emily is the type who will go out of her way to help someone in need without even thinking about it. Like this one time when we were at the mall, she saw a little kid who got separated from their mom and was crying. Emily stayed with the kid and helped them find their mom, even though it made us late for our movie. That's just the kind of person she is.Emily is also a great role model for me when it comes to being a good friend. She has kept the same close-knit group of friends since middle school because she is so loyal and kind to them. Her friends know they can count on her for anything. Emily is always there to lend an ear if they need listening or give themgreat advice. She's the kind of friend who will drop everything if someone needs her.At home, Emily helps out our parents a ton too. Since she's the oldest, she often babysits me and my little brother when our parents have to run errands or go to appointments. She's really responsible and we trust her completely to be in charge when our parents aren't around. Emily is also a clean freak and keeps her room spotless. Sometimes she even voluntarily helps my mom clean the kitchen or do laundry without being asked!I really look up to Emily and how hard she works at everything - school, sports, art, you name it. She's so talented but also humble and never brags. Emily is always striving to be the best version of herself. I admire her determination and drive. Not only that, but Emily is a total role model when it comes to being a kind, caring person who looks out for others. She's the type of person who makes the world a better place wherever she goes. I feel so fortunate to have such an amazing big sister.Despite her few flaws, the truth is Emily is someone I deeply admire and want to be just like when I'm older. I'm so lucky to have her as my big sister and best friend. She inspires me every single day to work hard, be a good person, and make the most ofmy abilities. If I can grow up to be just half as incredible as Emily, I'll consider myself a huge success!。

六年级水平写一篇关于名人的英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Hero: Marie CurieHave you ever heard of Marie Curie? She was a famous scientist who lived a long time ago. I think she is one of the most amazing people who ever lived! Let me tell you all about her.Marie was born in Poland in 1867. Her full name was Maria Salomea Skłodowska. When she was a little girl, she was really good at school, especially science and math. Back then, not many girls got the chance to study those subjects. But Marie's parents believed in letting her get an education.Life was hard for Marie's family. They didn't have much money. As a teenager, Marie had to work as a governess, which is kind of like a tutor or nanny, to help provide for her family. She dreamed of going to university one day to continue studying science. When Marie was 24 years old, she was finally able to enroll at the University of Paris in France. This was a huge opportunitysince universities didn't often accept many women students in those days. Marie had to study very hard, attending classes during the day and giving lessons to earn money at night. She would study late into the night by the light of a lamp.At university, Marie met a professor named Pierre Curie. They fell in love and got married in 1895. Pierre admired how dedicated and intelligent Marie was. He believed women should have an equal opportunity in science. The two scientists began working together to study a new phenomenon called "radioactivity."Radioactivity was first discovered by the scientist Henri Becquerel. He found that certain elements like uranium gave off a strange invisible energy or rays. Marie decided to make this her area of focus. She spent years carefully experimenting and taking measurements.Marie had to handle and process tons of a rock called pitchblende that contained radioactive elements. She would work for hours, using cruel tools and harsh acids to isolate the substances. The conditions in her lab were terrible - it was a tiny, unventilated shed with a leaky roof. But she didn't give up.After many years of work, in 1898 Marie discovered two new chemical elements that were highly radioactive - polonium(which she named after her home country Poland) and radium. The following year, she and Pierre coined the term "radioactivity" to describe this new form of energy they had studied extensively. For making such groundbreaking discoveries about the nature of radioactive elements and their rays, Marie Curie became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize in 1903. Eight years later, she was awarded an incredibly rare second Nobel Prize for her work! No one had accomplished that before.Sadly, Pierre was killed in an accident in 1906, struck by a horse-drawn wagon. Marie was devastated but she carried on with her research and teaching. She was the first female professor at the University of Paris. During World War I, she developed mobile x-ray units to help treat wounded soldiers on the battlefield.Throughout her life, Marie Curie faced many obstacles and challenges, especially as a woman working in a field dominated by men. But she was extremely determined, working day and night with unwavering passion for her research. Her discoveries laid the foundation for our modern understanding of radiation and atomic structure.Marie's work had many important applications, from nuclear medicine to nuclear power. However, she didn't realize at thetime how hazardous it was to constantly expose herself to high levels of radiation in her lab. She carried test tubes of radium around in her pockets! Tragically, Marie eventually died in 1934 from health issues caused by her long-term radiation exposure.Despite the dangers of her work being unknown, Marie Curie will always be remembered as a pioneer who changed science forever. She inspired future generations of women scientists and showed that intelligence and perseverance can overcome any obstacle. She is still the only person in history to win the Nobel Prize twice. Marie Curie is my biggest hero for her immense courage, brilliance and curiosity that led to such amazing discoveries and accomplishments.篇2My Hero: Jane GoodallHave you ever wondered what it would be like to live with chimpanzees in the wild? That's exactly what the famous scientist Jane Goodall did! She is my biggest hero. Let me tell you all about her amazing life.Jane Goodall was born on April 3, 1934 in London, England. Even as a little girl, she was completely obsessed with animals of all kinds. She loved reading books about animals and watchingthem at the zoo or on TV shows. Her favorite stuffed animal was a toy chimpanzee named Jubilee that her father gave her. When Jane was 23 years old, she went on an incredible adventure to Tanzania in Africa. A famous paleontologist named Dr. Louis Leakey hired her to study chimpanzees in the wild. At that time, people didn't know very much about how chimpanzees really acted and lived their lives. Jane was very excited to learn all about them!Jane traveled to Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania. This was a perfect place to observe the chimpanzees, since the park had a huge population of them living free in the forests and mountains. At first, the chimpanzees were very afraid of Jane. They would run away whenever she got close. But Jane was incredibly patient. She would sit still for hours, allowing the chimpanzees to get used to having her nearby.Slowly but surely, the chimpanzees started accepting Jane's presence. They realized she wouldn't try to hurt them. Jane started giving them names like David Greybeard and Flo to help tell them apart. She brought smoked bacon and bananas to gain their trust. After months of work, the chimpanzees finally treated Jane like part of their family! They would groom her, share foodwith her, and even allow her to hold their babies. What an incredible experience!By observing the chimpanzees closely every single day, Jane made numerous groundbreaking discoveries about their behavior. She saw that chimpanzees are highly intelligent animals that can think, have emotions, and use tools. This was revolutionary at the time, since people thought humans were the only animals that could do those things. For example, Jane spotted chimpanzees taking sticks and stripping off the leaves to make tools for collecting termites from their mounds. She also watched as chimpanzees used rocks to crack open nuts before eating them. The chimps even had types of "language" with calls, gestures, and expressions to communicate with each other. Jane realized just how advanced and human-like their intelligence truly was.Jane's work helped change how the entire world viewed chimpanzees and other animal species. Through her research, she taught people that animals are much smarter than we ever imagined. She showed that we must protect animals and their habitats so these incredible creatures can survive. Jane's chimpanzee observations are some of the most important in the history of science. But Jane Goodall didn't just study the chimpanzees. She grew to love them and respect them like none other. While she lived in Gombe, her favorite chimpanzee became an amazing mother named Flo. Jane watched as Flo raised babies and led her family group with dignity and strength. Jane said Flo seemed like a "superb mother" who deeply cared for her children. What a compliment coming from someone as brilliant as Jane!In her decades of research, Jane endured many hardships and challenges in the harsh African wilderness. Sometimes she had to go for weeks with barely any food or clean water. She got malaria, a bad disease, multiple times. She also faced constant danger from leopards, snakes, and other animals in the forests. But Jane's passion for learning about chimps kept her going no matter what.Jane's life work led to her receiving many of the highest honors in the world. She has been named a Dame Commander of the British Empire and a United Nations Messenger of Peace. She has won prestigious awards like the National Geographic Society's Hubbard Medal and the Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement. Countless books, TV shows, and movies have been made about her too. Jane became a true global superstar because of her amazing accomplishments.Today, Jane Goodall is 89 years old. She spends her time traveling all over the world, giving lectures and speeches to raise awareness about protecting animals and the environment. She also runs an incredible youth organization called the Jane Goodall Institute which empowers young people to make the world a better place. What an inspiring person! In my opinion, Jane Goodall is the greatest primatologist and animal expert of all time. Her ability to live peacefully among chimpanzees and understand their behaviors changed science forever. She helped humans realize that chimpanzees are intelligent creatures deserving of our respect and protection. Most importantly, Jane showed that if you follow your passion and never give up on your dreams, you can make the world a much better place. What an amazing life she has led!篇3My Hero: Marie CurieWho is your hero? My hero is Marie Curie, the famous scientist who discovered radium and polonium. She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, and the first person ever to win two Nobel Prizes! I think Marie Curie is super cool and inspiring for many reasons.First of all, Marie Curie was incredibly smart and hardworking. She was born in Poland in 1867. When she was a kid, she loved learning about science and nature. Marie had to work as a governess and tutor to earn money for college because her family didn't have much money. But she never gave up on her dream of studying science. In 1891, Marie went to university in Paris to study physics and math. It wasn't easy being a woman trying to get an education back then. But Marie worked really hard, sometimes going days with little sleep or food so she could keep studying. Her hard work paid off when she earned her degrees and met her husband Pierre Curie, who was also a scientist.Together, the Curies did experiments on a new mysterious force called "radioactivity" that had recently been discovered. They worked in an old shed with used lab equipment, testing different minerals to see which ones were radioactive. The work was difficult and dangerous, but Marie and Pierre never gave up.In 1898, they discovered two new radioactive elements - radium and polonium. This was one of the most important scientific discoveries ever! Radium gave off an eerie blue glow and could be used to study radioactivity more closely. The Curiesworked tirelessly to isolate and study these amazing new elements.Tragically, Pierre Curie was killed in an accident in 1906. But even after losing her husband and lab partner, Marie Curie kept going. She took over his teaching position at the university and continued their research on radium on her own. In 1911, Marie won her second Nobel Prize, this time in chemistry, for discovering radium and polonium. She was the first person ever to win the Nobel Prize twice!Throughout her life, Marie had to overcome many challenges as a woman working in a male-dominated field. She was often treated unfairly and looked down upon by other scientists just because she was a woman. But she didn't let that stop her. Marie was determined to prove she was just as capable as any man. Her brilliance and work ethic eventually earned her worldwide respect and fame.Marie's discoveries laid the foundation for many modern scientific fields including atomic physics and nuclear chemistry. Radium's rays could be used to treat cancer, taking X-ray pictures, and more. The phenomenon of radioactivity that Marie explored has been crucial for developing nuclear power andradiation therapy treatments. Marie Curie's work changed the world forever!Unfortunately, all that exposure to radioactive materials eventually caused Marie to develop health issues. But she refused to stop working or abandon her research until the very end of her life in 1934. Marie Curie once said, "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."That brave, hardworking spirit is why Marie Curie inspires me so much. She overcame poverty, discrimination, loss of her partner, and danger from radiation because she was passionate about learning and pushed herself to achieve her dreams no matter what obstacles were in her way. Marie Curie showed that women can be just as brilliant as men, and that anyone can change the world through perseverance and curiosity.I want to have that same passion for knowledge as Marie Curie did. Like her, I face challenges - school can be hard sometimes, or teachers might call on me when I don't know the answer and I feel embarrassed. But I have to be brave like Marie and keep studying and working hard. Whenever I get discouraged, I think of her spending long nights in that cold shed, refusing to give up on her research. If she could do something soincredible, then I know I can achieve my goals too by never giving up. Marie Curie is my hero and role model for how to live a life of purpose and discovery.篇4My Hero: Marie CurieHave you ever heard of Marie Curie? She's my biggest hero! Marie was a scientist who lived a long time ago, but she was way ahead of her time. She made some of the most amazing discoveries in science, even though she had to overcome so many challenges as a woman.Marie was born in 1867 in Warsaw, which was part of Russia back then. Her full name was Maria Salomea Skłodowska, but you can see why people just called her Marie Curie! Her parents really valued education and wanted Marie and her siblings to study hard. Even though she was a brilliant student, Marie couldn't go to a regular university in Russian-controlled Poland because she was a woman. Can you believe that? Just because she was a girl, she wasn't allowed to get a university education in her own country. That's so unfair! But Marie didn't let that stop her. She was determined to get an education no matter what. She took underground classesfrom professors who taught in secret, and she studied so hard on her own at home. Marie even gave lessons to make money so she could pay for her education. When she was 24 years old, she was finally able to go to university in France, where women could study science and math courses. Yay for France! In 1894, Marie met a man named Pierre Curie at the university. He was a scientist too, and they fell in love and got married. Pierre totally respected Marie's intelligence and supported her research. Both of them studied a new science about radioactivity and the energy given off by certain elements like uranium. I'll be honest, I don't fully understand radioactivity even after my teacher explained it. But Marie Curie basically founded the entire study through her brilliant experiments! The most amazing thing Marie discovered was two brand new elements that no one had ever seen before. She called them "radium" and "polonium" - isn't that so cool to literally discover fundamental parts of the universe? Marie had to process tons and tons of a mineral called pitchblende to find just a few pieces of radium, but she never gave up. Her hard work, patience, and brilliant mind paid off.Marie won篇5My Hero: Marie CurieHave you ever heard of Marie Curie? She was a famous scientist who lived a long time ago, from 1867 to 1934. Marie Curie is my biggest hero because she was incredibly smart, worked really hard, and made amazing discoveries that changed the world!Marie was born in Poland when it was part of Russia. Her full name was Maria Salomea Skłodowska. Her parents were both teachers and they valued education a lot. Even though she was a girl, Marie's parents encouraged her love of learning and science from a young age. When Marie was 10 years old, her oldest sibling died from typhus, which is a terrible disease carried by lice. This was a very sad time for her family. It also motivated Marie to want to study science and find cures for diseases when she grew up.Going to university was difficult for Marie because she was Polish and universities in Russia didn't accept many Polish students. She had to go to an underground, secret university called the Floating University to continue her studies after highschool. Marie worked as a governess and tutored kids to save up money. In 1891 when she was 24 years old, Marie was finally able to leave Poland and attend the prestigious Sorbonne University in Paris, France to study physics and mathematics. She was one of the first women to study sciences at this famous university! While in Paris, she lived in a tiny, freezing cold apartment and had very little money for food and heating. But Marie didn't care – she was just thrilled to be studying her favorite subjects. At the Sorbonne, Marie met a professor named Pierre Curie who was teaching Physics. They fell in love because they both loved science so much. In 1895, they got married in a simple ceremony at an old town hall office. Pierre was Marie's biggest supporter and believed women should have equal rights and opportunities as men. After getting married, Marie had to go by the name "Marie Curie" because that was the tradition for wives to take their husband's last names in France. I think she didn't mind too much because she loved Pierre very much and the name "Marie Curie" is now one of the most famous in science history! The Curies began researching a new mysterious phenomenon called "radioactivity" that had recently beendiscovered by the scientist Henri Becquerel. Radioactivity described how certain elements like uranium gave off invisible rays of energy and light. No one understood radioactivity very well yet.Marie and Pierre spent years experimenting with radioactive elements like uranium in their tiny, poorly ventilated lab shed. They refined a new technique to identify elements by how strongly they were radioactive. Using this technique, in 1898 they discovered two new radioactive elements that no one had ever seen before - radium and polonium! This was one of the greatest discoveries in all of chemistry and physics. For their pioneering work on radioactivity, in 1903 Marie and Pierre Curie were awarded the prestigious Nobel Prize in Physics, along with Henri Becquerel. Marie was the first woman in history to receive a Nobel Prize! This was an amazing honor but also kind of sad because universities and laboratories still discriminated against Marie for being a woman. She wasn't allowed to have an official teaching position at universities for a long time.Tragically, in 1906 Pierre Curie was killed after being struck by a horse-drawn carriage on a rainy Paris street. Marie was absolutely devastated to lose her beloved husband and scientificpartner so suddenly. For a while, she considered giving up her research entirely because she was so heartbroken. But Marie decided to persevere and continue their work in Pierre's honor. In 1911, she received a second Nobel Prize, this time in Chemistry, for successfully isolating radium and discovering its properties. She is the only person in history to win the Nobel Prize twice in multiple sciences! How amazing is that?Throughout her career, Marie faced many challenges because she was a woman. Sexist professors and scientists did not take her seriously and tried to deny her credit for her achievements. But Marie never let them discourage her. She kept studying radioactivity tirelessly and training other scientists, both women and men.Marie Curie revolutionized modern physics and chemistry through her work on radioactivity. The radioactive elements she discovered enabled many important innovations in medicine, including radiation therapy to treat cancer. X-ray machines used in hospitals today also rely on radioactive materials.Sadly, Marie's lifetime exposure to radioactive materials took a heavy toll on her health. By the 1920s she was exhibiting signs of radiation sickness and burns. In 1934, she died at age 66 from leukemia most likely caused by her exposure to radiation. Untilthe very end, Marie was still just as curious and diligent about her research. In my opinion, Marie Curie is a true hero for her brilliance, resilience, and dedication to science despite all the obstacles she faced as a woman. When I am feeling discouraged or lazy, I think about how hard Marie worked in her tiny shed with almost no money or support. If she never gave up on her passion, then I shouldn't give up either!Marie once said, "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood." This is an inspiring quote because it reminds us to face our fears by learning more and being curious like a scientist. Marie approached life, science and even tragedy with immense courage and wisdom. That is why I admire her so much.Marie Curie truly changed the world and opened up new frontiers in physics that we still benefit from today. I hope that someday I can make an important discovery or positive impact like she did through her persistence and love of learning. Marie Curie is the perfect role model and my biggest hero!篇6My Hero: Marie CurieHave you ever heard of Marie Curie? She was a very smart and important scientist who made some amazing discoveries. Marie Curie is my hero because she never gave up, even when things were really hard. She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, and then she went on to win another Nobel Prize too! I think her life story is super inspiring.Marie Curie was born in Poland in 1867. Her full name was Maria Salomea Skłodowska. When she was a young girl, Marie loved learning about science and nature. She was one of the smartest students in her whole school. However, back in those days, universities in Poland didn't accept many women as students. So when Marie finished school, she didn't have a chance to continue her education like she wanted to.For several years, Marie had to work as a teacher and a governess to earn money. She dreamed of being able to go to university and study science someday. Finally, in 1891, Marie got her wish - she was able to enroll at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France to study physics and mathematics. Marie worked incredibly hard, often studying late into the night by candlelight since she couldn't afford proper lighting. She didn't let anything stop her from learning. In 1894, Marie had a life-changing meeting with a professor named Pierre Curie. Pierre was a brilliant scientist who was working on some fascinating experiments with radiation and magnetism. Marie and Pierre quickly became best friends who shared a passion for science. They fell in love, and in 1895 they got married. Marie took Pierre's last name, becoming Marie Curie. The Curies made an excellent team in the laboratory. They began investigating a mysterious phenomenon called radioactivity, which had recently been discovered. Through years of meticulous experiments and hard work, in 1898 Marie Curie discovered two new chemical elements - radium and polonium. This was an amazing achievement that no one had done before! In 1903, Marie and Pierre's scientific contributions were recognized with the Nobel Prize in Physics. Marie was the first woman in history to be awarded this prestigious honor. The Curies could have rested on their laurels after this great success. Instead, they kept working tirelessly to expand human knowledge through research.Sadly, in 1906 tragedy struck when Pierre Curie was killed after being struck by a horse-drawn wagon. Marie was absolutely devastated to lose her beloved husband and co-worker. She fellinto a deep depression. Many people doubted whether the "Polish lady" could continue the scientific work on her own.But Marie Curie was not a person who gave up easily. She pulled herself together and took over Pierre's teaching position at the Sorbonne, becoming the first female professor there. She persisted with her research into radioactivity, despite the fact that many people looked down on her just for being a woman.Marie Curie's hard work and dedication paid off in an extraordinary way in 1911, when she was awarded a second Nobel Prize - this time in the field of Chemistry! Curie was the first person in history to win the Nobel Prize twice. This cemented her reputation as one of the greatest scientists who ever lived. For the rest of her life, Marie Curie continued to make pioneering contributions to science. Her work paved the way for future breakthroughs like nuclear power and radiation therapy to treat cancer. She traveled the world giving lectures and sharing her findings. The media called her the "Mother of Modern Physics."Marie Curie's life was not an easy one. She battled poverty, discrimination, and personal tragedies. However, she never let obstacles discourage her. Marie just kept persisting withdetermination and passion for her work. As she once said: "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood." Those are words of wisdom that I try to live by.In my opinion, Marie Curie is a role model for boys and girls alike. She proved that with enough hard work, intelligence, and resilience, any dream is possible - even for a poor Polish girl who defied expectations to become one of the most famous scientists in history. Marie Curie is a true superhero and endless source of inspiration for young people like me who want to change the world through science someday. I am thankful for pioneers like her who paved the way.。

We've known each other since we were little kids in kindergarten. I remember the first day I met her - she was the new girl and didn't know anybody. I went up to her during recess and asked her if she wanted to play on the swings with me. From that day on, we were inseparable!Sara is the most caring and loyal friend anyone could ask for. Whenever I'm having a bad day or feeling sad about something, she's always there to listen and give me a big hug. She never judges me and always has my back, no matter what. I can tell her anything and she'll keep it a secret. That's what true friendship is all about. One of the things I admire most about Sara is how brave she is. She's never afraid to try new things or put herself out there. Like the time in 4th grade when we auditioned for the school play together. She is one of the most special people I know and I can't imagine my world without her in it. I love you, Sara!篇4My Best Friend SamI want to tell you all about my best friend Sam. Sam is the coolest kid I know! We've been buddies since kindergarten and now we're in 6th grade together.Sam is really tall for our age, with shaggy brown hair and bright green eyes. He's always smiling and making silly jokes. Sam loves to play basketball and he's really good at it too. During recess, we're always shooting hoops and having fun. Sometimes the other kids join in our games. One thing I really like about Sam is that he's a great listener. If I'm having a bad day or struggling with something, Sam is there for me. He lets me vent and never judges me. Sam gives the best advice and always knows just what to say to cheer me up. He's super loyal and I know I can count on him no matter what.Sam is also wicked smart. He gets really good grades but doesn't act like a teacher's pet or anything. Sam just loves learning about science, history, you name it. He's always sharing cool facts he learned. Did you know that a sneeze travels out of your mouth at over 100 mph? Sam told me that one!Despite that flaw, Sam is hands-down the most fun, caring, awesome person I know. We have so many crazy adventures and make so many amazing memories together. Like the time we camped out in his backyard and stayed up all night stargazing and roasting s'mores. Or when we entered the school talent show and put on a hilarious magic act (let's just say there were a lot of disappearing acts thanks to us being so uncoordinated!).I feel so lucky to have a best friend like Sam. We've been through so much together already, even though we're just kids. I know that no matter what middle school, high school, or life throws our way, Sam will be right there by my side. We'll take iton together with a lot of laughs and a few crazy schemes along the way! Here's to having a friend as great as Sam.篇5My Best Friend SamI want to tell you about my best friend Sam. He's the coolest guy I know! Sam is 12 years old like me and we've been friends since kindergarten. We live on the same street which is really convenient for hanging out.Sam has a great sense of humor and always makes me laugh. He does really funny impressions of our teachers and cracks jokes all the time. Even when I'm having a bad day, Sam can cheer me up. He's the class clown but in a good way - the teachers don't get too mad at him because his jokes are harmless and clever rather than mean.We have a lot of the same interests which is part of why we get along so well. We're both obsessed with basketball and play on the school team together. Our dream is to make it to the NBA one day! Sam is an amazing shooter and can sink three-pointers from halfway across the court. I'm more of a defensive player but we make a good team.Video games are another shared passion. Sam has the coolest gaming setup in his basement with every new console and game. I'm over at his house basically every weekend and we spend hours battling it out, taking breaks for pizza and soda. His mom is so nice and always makes sure we have snacks. But Sam isn't just about goofing off - he's really smart too. He gets pretty much all A's without even trying that hard. I definitely have to study more than him. Math is his best subject and he helps me with my homework a lot. I don't know what I'd do without him explaining algebra to me!Sam is also a great artist. His dream is to become a professional comic book illustrator one day. You should see the amazing superheroes and villains he can draw. The details and action scenes are so cool. He even writes the stories to go along with the comics. I've been trying to learn to draw from him but let's just say I'll never be the next Stan Lee!Outside of school, Sam is active in scouts and plays on a local soccer team. He's crazy talented at every sport - seriously, it's scary how coordinated he is. I'm more of a klutz so I tend to just be the cheerleader on the sidelines. But Sam never makes me feel bad about it.One of the best things about Sam is how kind and loyal he is. He always has my back and vice versa. If someone was picking on me, he would totally defend me. And I know he would never ditch me for newer, cooler friends or anything like that. We've been tight since we were little kids.I feel so lucky to have Sam in my life. We have a million crazy memories already and I know we'll make a million more. From sleepovers to toilet papering houses to getting in trouble together, you name it - we've done it all as a dynamic duo! I can't imagine navigating middle school without my best bud by my side.No matter what happens in the future or where life takes us, I know Sam and I will always be friends. We'll go to different colleges eventually, maybe get married and have kids someday. But no matter what, we'll still be causing mischief in our old age! That's just how we roll. Here's to my one-of-a-kind, unforgettable best friend Sammy!篇6My Best Friend AnnaHave you ever had a really good friend? Someone who was always there for you and made you laugh no matter what? That's my best friend Anna for me.Anna and I met in kindergarten on the very first day of school. We were both really shy and didn't know anyone. The teacher had us go around the room and say our names and one thing we liked. When it was my turn I said I liked reading books. Then Anna said she liked reading too! From that moment on, we became best friends. We've been inseparable ever since that first day six years ago. We're in the same class again this year, which is really fun. We always partner up for group projects and activities. Anna is really smart and creative, so we make a great team. Like when we had to design a Rube Goldberg machine for science class, Anna had so many clever ideas for what to include. And she's an amazing artist too. She drew these totally cool pictures to plan out our machine. I'm more of a planner and organized person, so I made sure we followed all the steps and got it done on time. Working together, our machine was one of the best in the class!Even though Anna is really talented in a lot of ways, she doesn't brag or act stuck-up about it at all. Actually, she's one of the most humble people I know. Whenever someonecompliments her art or an invention idea she had, she just smiles shyly and says "thanks." She never brags, even though she definitely could. I admire that about her.Another awesome thing about Anna is how caring and thoughtful she is. Like this one time, I was really sick with the flu and out of school for a week. Anna came over to my house with a get well soon card she had made herself, along with my favorite snacks. She left them on my doorstep so she wouldn't get my family sick. It was such a kind thing to do and it made me feel so much better. She's always thinking of little ways to brighten someone's day like that.We have so much fun together too - Anna has an amazing sense of humor and can make pretty much any situation funny and laughing. She's a total goofball in the best way. Like at recess, she'll do imitations of our teachers or make up these crazy games and adventures for us to play. She's never afraid to be silly and goofy, which I love. We laugh pretty much non-stop when we're together.Even when we do have disagreements or get into little arguments, which every friend does once in a while, we're always able to work it out pretty quickly. I guess it's because we know each other so well and we truly care about each other. A sillyfight just isn't worth losing a friendship as great as ours over. We can disagree, but then we talk it through, apologize if needed, and move on.All in all, Anna is quite simply the best friend I could ever ask for. She's kind, caring, silly, creative, smart, humble, and an amazing artist. But most importantly, she's sempre there for me, just like I am for her. We share so many interests and secrets and memories. I feel so lucky to have a friend like Anna in my life. I don't know what I'd do without her! Here's to many more adventures and laughs with my bff.。

六年级下册介绍名人英语作文40个词全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Hero: Marie CurieDo you have a hero? Someone you really look up to and admire? My biggest hero is Marie Curie. She was a brilliant scientist who made amazing discoveries, but she also had to overcome many challenges in her life. To me, she is the definition of courage, brilliance, and perseverance. Let me tell you her inspiring story.Marie was born in Poland in 1867. From a young age, she was extremely curious and loved learning. However, back then women didn't have the same opportunities as men when it came to education. Marie's family didn't have much money, but her parents still supported her thirst for knowledge. When she was 10 years old, Marie's incredible mind shone through when she won a medal for her performance on an extremely difficult exam. Her intelligence and hard work helped pave the way for her future successes. However, her journey was filled with obstacles.Since universities in Poland didn't accept female students at the time, Marie had to find alternative ways to continue her studies. She ended up leaving her home country and moving to France to attend the University of Paris - one of the few places that allowed women to get a higher education.Once in Paris, Marie faced poverty, hunger, and discrimination for being a woman. She lived in a tiny, freezing apartment and often went without food so she could afford textbooks. But Marie never let her difficult circumstances stop her. She kept pushing forward with her education.Marie's dedication paid off when she earned degrees in physics and mathematics. Not long after, she met and married Pierre Curie, a professor and brilliant scientist himself. The two made an incredible team and research partners.Marie and Pierre began investigating a strange phenomenon - rays that were emitted from uranium that could pass through human flesh. They called this mysterious occurrence "radioactivity." The couple worked tirelessly to understand it, conducting experiment after experiment in a run-down shed.Their hard work led to an astounding discovery - two new elements on the periodic table, polonium and radium. These elements were millions of times more radioactive than uranium. The Curies' breakthrough changed the world and opened up a new scientific field. For their pioneering work on radioactivity, Marie and Pierre were awarded the prestigious Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903. Marie was the first woman to ever receive this high honor. Sadly, just a few years later, Pierre was killed in a tragic accident. But Marie powered through her grief. She took over Pierre's teaching position, becoming the first female professor at the University of Paris. Once again, she faced immense sexism and discrimination. Some people didn't want a woman teaching at the university. But Marie kept going, continuing her research. In an amazing achievement, Marie Curie won her second Nobel Prize in 1911 - this time in Chemistry. She is the only person in history to have won the Nobel Prize twice in multiple sciences. Her discoveries paved the way for x-rays, radiation therapy for cancer treatment, and many other vital breakthroughs.Though her brilliance revolutionized science, Marie's life was also marked by great sadness and sacrifice. Her work with radioactive materials made her very ill and she eventually passed away in 1934 from illnesses caused by radiation exposure.Yet Marie Curie's remarkable legacy lives on. She shattered glass ceilings for women in science and beyond. More than that, she showed that with passion, persistence, and a thirst for knowledge, any dream can be achieved no matter the obstacles.Whenever I face difficulties, I think of Marie's incredible determination and courage in the face of poverty, discrimination, and personal tragedies. Her life is a shining example that anything is possible. Marie Curie is the ultimate role model of resilience, brilliance, and strength. She will always be my hero.篇2My Hero: Marie CurieHave you ever heard of Marie Curie? She is one of the most amazing scientists who ever lived! Marie Curie was a woman from Poland who made incredible discoveries about radiation and radioactivity. She was the first person to win two Nobel Prizes in different fields. How awesome is that?Marie was born in 1867 in Warsaw, which was part of Russia at t he time. Her full name was Maria Salomea Skłodowska. Her family valued education a lot, even though it was difficult for women to get educated back then. Marie was a brilliant studentfrom a young age. She had a passion for learning, especially math and science subjects. When Marie was 10 years old, her older sister Bronya had to stop attending an illegal underground education for Polish women because the family couldn't afford it anymore. So Marie took Bronya's secret classes instead! She worked very hard and was at the top of her class. Education meant everything to young Marie. After high school, Marie wanted to study at a university, but women were not allowed at universities in Poland at that time. So in 1891, at age 24, she went to live with her sister Bronya in Paris, France to continue her education. She had to work as a governess and tutor to support herself while studying at the University of Paris.Marie excelled in her physics, mathematics, and chemistry classes. In 1894, she met a brilliant scientist named Pierre Curie. They fell in love because they shared the same passion for science. They were married in 1895 and went on to make amazing discoveries together about radioactivity.Do you know what radioactivity is? It's when unstable atoms emit energy and radiation. Marie coined the term "radioactivity" in 1898. She and Pierre discovered two new chemical elements -radium and polonium! They had to work very hard, processing tons of pitchblack material from uranium mines to find these new radioactive elements. Their work was extremely dangerous because radiation can cause serious health issues if you're exposed to too much of it.In 1903, Marie and Pierre Curie, along with Henri Becquerel, won the Nobel Prize in Physics for their groundbreaking research on radioactivity. Sadly, Pierre was killed in an accident in 1906 when he was run over by a horse-drawn carriage. But Marie did not give up on her work.In 1911, Marie Curie won a second Nobel Prize, this time in Chemistry, for discovering the elements radium and polonium. She is the only person in history to win Nobel Prizes in two different sciences! How incredible is that? Marie continued her pioneering work and research on radioactivity throughout her life.Marie faced many challenges as a woman in science. At the time, very few women were accepted in universities or in scientific fields dominated by men. But she never gave up and followed her dreams. Marie said, "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."Curie's discoveries laid the foundation for many areas of modern physics and chemistry. Radiation and radioactive materials are now used in x-ray machines, radiation therapy for cancer treatment, and nuclear power plants. But Marie Curie paid a heavy price for her work - she died in 1934 of aplastic anemia caused by radiation exposure.Despite all the hardships and discrimination she faced, Marie Curie never stopped pursuing knowledge. Her brilliant mind, passion, and resilience paved the way for women in science. Marie once said, "Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained."Those are wise words that inspire me to follow my own dreams and never give up, no matter how difficult things may seem. Marie Curie is my hero because she was a pioneering scientist who changed the world through her discoveries. But she was also a determined, hardworking woman who overcame many obstacles and proved that females are just as capable as males in fields like science. Her life story motivates me to work hard, believe in myself, and keep pursuing my goals with passion and perseverance.篇3My Biggest Hero: Marie CurieHave you ever heard of Marie Curie? She was a famous scientist who lived a long time ago, but her amazing discoveries changed the world forever. Marie Curie is my biggest hero, and I'm going to tell you all about her incredible life.Marie was born in 1867 in Warsaw, which was part of Russian Poland at the time. From a very young age, she was an excellent student who loved learning, especially about science and math. However, back then universities in Poland didn't accept women. Can you imagine that? Just because she was a girl, Marie couldn't get a higher education in her home country. But Marie didn't let that stop her. She was determined to keep studying no matter what. In 1891, she went to France to attend the University of Paris, one of the few places that allowed women to get university degrees. It wasn't easy though. Marie had to work as a governess and tutor to support herself while going to school. Even so, she worked extremely hard and graduated at the top of her class! After getting her degree, Marie met a professor named Pierre Curie. They fell in love and got married in 1895. Not onlydid they make a great couple, but they also made an incredible scientific team. Pierre was just as passionate about science as Marie. Together, they began researching a new mysterious phenomenon called "radioactivity."You see, a few years earlier, the physicist Henri Becquerel discovered that certain elements like uranium gave off mysterious rays, almost like invisible light. But nobody knew what these rays were or where they came from. Marie and Pierre were determined to figure it out.For years, they worked tirelessly in their tiny, unheated shed laboratory. Marieeven had to carry heavy buckets of the radioactive ore pitchblende up several flights of stairs because they had no equipment! Can you imagine how hard that must have been? But through their intense hard work and brilliance, they made an earth-shattering discovery. In 1898, Marie and Pierre realized the pitchblende contained two brand new elements that were highly radioactive. They named one "polonium" after Marie's home country of Poland. The other they called "radium." Marie had to process TONS of the pitchblende ore, getting radiation exposure, to produce just a tiny bit of radium. It took her four years of backbreaking work!Marie's discovery of radium and polonium was one of the greatest scientific breakthroughs ever. It completely changed our understanding of energy, matter, and the universe itself. Radium's rays could actually destroy cancer cells, leading to a new therapy that saved countless lives. That's why Marie Curie is considered the mother of modern radiation science. After their amazing discovery, things should have been easy for Marie and Pierre, right? Sadly, tragedy struck in 1906 when Pierre was killed after being struck by a horse-drawn wagon. Marie was devastated to lose her husband and partner. But she knew their work was too important to give up.Shockingly, rather than helping her continue Pierre's research, the French science community tried to hold Marie back because she was a woman. Some didn't even want to let her teach at the University. But Marie persevered through the discrimination. In 1911, she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for her work on radium and polonium. She was the first woman ever to win a Nobel Prize!Marie didn't stop there though. She was also awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903 for other discoveries about radioactivity, along with her husband Pierre and Henri Becquerel.Marie is the only person in history to ever win the Nobel Prize twice in multiple sciences. How amazing is that?Unfortunately, Marie's life of pioneering work was cut short due to the radiation exposure she endured over the years from handling radioactive materials. She passed away in 1934 at the age of 66 from anemia caused by her exposure.Even though her life was difficult and ended too soon, Marie Curie accomplished so much through her passion, brilliance, and perseverance. She revolutionized science, proved that women could be great scientists and academics, and opened up a whole new field of atomic physics that still impacts our world today. That's why Marie Curie will always be my biggest hero. Her story of overcoming barriers, discrimination, and personal tragedy through strength and determination is incredibly inspiring. Whenever I face challenges or setbacks, I think of Marie working tirelessly in that tiny shed to change the world. If she could achieve so much against all odds, then I know I can overcome any obstacle too. Marie Curie is a shining example that with hard work, belief in yourself, and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, anyone can make groundbreaking discoveries and leave an amazing legacy.篇4My Favorite Famous Person: Neil ArmstrongOne of my favorite famous people is Neil Armstrong. She was an amazing scientist who made groundbreaking discoveries in the fields of physics and chemistry. Even though she lived a long time ago, her story continues to inspire people all over the world, especially young girls like me who dream of becoming scientists one day.Marie was born in 1867 in Warsaw, which was part of Russia at that time. From a very young age, she was extremely curious and loved learning about the world around her. Unfortunately, she faced many challenges because she was a girl. Back then, girls weren't allowed to go to good schools or universities in Russia. But Marie was determined to get an education no matter what. When she turned 10 years old, Marie's parents set up a secret classroom at home where she and her sisters could studyand learn. They had to be really quiet so that no one would find out! Can you imagine having to sneak around just to learn? Marie worked incredibly hard, studying late into the night by candlelight. Her dedication paid off, and she eventually earned a degree in Physics. After graduating, Marie moved to Paris where she met a scientist named Pierre Curie. The two fell in love and got married. Not only were they a wonderful couple, but they also made an amazing scientific team! Together, they made one of the most important discoveries of the 20th century - a glowing,energy-filled element called radium.Working deep into the night in a tiny, cramped shed, Marie carefully separated radium from a mineral called pitchblende. It was backbreaking work, and the intense radiation made her very sick. But she never gave up. Marie's hard work and perseverance led to many important uses for radium, including the treatment of cancer. For her incredible achievements, Marie Curie became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize in 1903. But that wasn't all - she did it again in 1911, becoming the first person ever to win two Nobel Prizes! Her dedication to science paved the way for future discoveries in physics, chemistry, and medicine. What I admire most about Marie Curie is her curiosity, determination and courage in the face of adversity. She overcame so many obstacles just because she had a passion for learning and wasn't afraid to dream big. Those words guide me every day as I work towards my goal of becoming a scientist. Like Marie, I want to discover new things that can help make the world a better place. Who knows, maybe I'll even win a Nobel Prize someday! Marie's incredible legacy serves as a reminder that with hard work, determination and a thirst for knowledge, anyone can achieve amazing things.篇6My Idol: Jane GoodallDo you know who my biggest idol is? Jane Goodall! She's this amazing British woman who has spent most of her life studying chimpanzees in Africa. In just 40 words, let me tell you why she inspires me so much: She's brave, caring, determined, and has made groundbreaking discoveries about animal behavior. But let me give you the full story on this incredible lady. Jane Goodall was born in 1934 in London, England. From a very young age, she was obsessed with animals and books about nature. Her favorites were the stories of Tarzan and Dr. Dolittle. Can you imagine how excited she must have been reading those as a little girl? I get so excited just thinking about her reading them! When Jane was 23 years old, she had an amazing opportunity. She got to travel to Kenya and visit a friend's family who owned a farm near the Gombe Stream Game Reserve. This reserve had tons of chimpanzees living wild in the forests. At the time, hardly anyone had tried to study chimps closely in their natural habitat. The famous paleoanthropologist Louis Leakey realized Jane's passion and invited her to live in Gombe and observe the chimpanzees. Can you believe that? She had no formal college training, but this famous scientist gave her a chance to make history! So in 1960, Jane packed her bags and headed to Gombe. She set up a small tent in the forests and just spent hours watching the chimps, taking notes on their behavior. The first few months were really tough. The。

She's a famous British scientist who studied chimpanzees in Africa for over 60 years. Her work taught us so much about how alike humans and chimps really are. I'll tell you all about her amazing life and why she inspires me.Jane was born in 1934 in London, England. Even as a little kid, she was obsessed with animals and books about them. Her favorite storybook was the Tarzan series, about a boy raised by apes in the jungle. Jane used to imagine herself living in the jungle too, making friends with gorillas and chimpanzees. She loved the outdoors and kept lots of animal friends like chickens, rabbits, and squirrels. When Jane was 23 years old, she got a huge lucky break. A famous paleontologist named Louis Leakey hired her to study chimpanzees in Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania, Africa. At the time, people didn't know much about chimps and how they really lived in the wild. Most scientists thought they were mindless animals. But Leakey guessed chimps were a lot smarter than we realized.Imagine moving to Africa at age 23 with no university degree! Jane was so brave. When she first got to the forest, the chimpanzees ran away from her. It took months for them to get used to her presence. She had to be extremely patient, quiet, and still while observing them. She gave them names like David Graybeard and Goliath to tell them apart.Through her meticulous observations, Jane made groundbreaking discoveries. We learned chimps are highly intelligent and use tools like sticks to catch termites. They have strong family bonds, complex emotions, and even wage wars with neighboring chimp communities. Before Jane, we thought only humans made tools and waged war!Perhaps her most famous finding was that chimps hunt and eat meat. One day in 1960, Jane witnessed a chimpanzee hunt, kill, and eat a baby bush pig. This flew in the face of what scientists thought - that chimps were vegans and couldn't be violent meat-eaters. Jane's supervisor was so shocked he dismissed her findings at first! But eventually, Jane's researchshattered the belief that hunting and eating meat is a uniquely human trait.Jane had many more adventures in the years studying the Gombe chimps. She got charged by ill-tempered adults, had babies grabbed from her arms, and endured harsh outdoor conditions. Once, she had to hide from an enraged chimp for four days! Through it all, her curiosity and empathy for the animals never wavered. After decades in the field, Jane became a passionate environmentalist and animal rights activist. She saw how human activity like deforestation destroyed chimp habitats. Jane began touring the world, giving lectures and raising awareness about protecting chimps, forests, and the planet. Her efforts led to the creation of the Jane Goodall Institute, which continues her conservation work today. In her 80s now, Jane hasn't slowed down one bit. She spends 300 days each year traveling the globe to speak about saving the environment. Jane's mantra is that every individual matters and can make a positive difference. I really take this message to heart - even as a kid, I can help protect animals and nature in my own way. Whether it's recycling, picking up litter, or just learning about wildlife, small actions add up to big changes.I'm so inspired by Jane's amazing life journey - from a curious little animal lover like me to becoming the world's top expert on chimpanzees through sheer passion and grit. She never let naysayers discourage her unorthodox path into primatology without a college degree. Despite facing many dangers, she stuck with her research year after year. Jane's empathy for animals taught us they aren't so different from humans in their intelligence, emotions, and social bonds. And now she's devoted her life to saving their habitats and our planet.Jane Goodall is the ultimate role model for following your childhood dreams, never giving up, and making the world a better place through small actions. I hope to have her sense of wonder, resilience, and commitment to protecting nature. If we all try to be a little more like Jane, the world will be a much better place for humans, animals, and the environment we all share. I can't wait to see what amazing work Jane does next!篇2My Grandpa: The Most Interesting Man I KnowEveryone has someone in their life who they really look up to and admire. For me, that person is my maternal grandfather, whom I affectionately call "Grandpa." At 72 years old, Grandpa has led such an amazing and adventurous life. Whenever I spend time with him, I'm in awe listening to his incredible stories and words of wisdom. He's the most interesting man I know!Grandpa was born in a small village in Guangdong province in 1951. Life was very tough for his family back then - they didn't have much money and he had to work extremely hard alongside his parents and siblings on their little farm from a very young age. Despite the daily struggles of poverty, Grandpa excelled at school and was recognized as one of the brightest students in his village. His hard work and intelligence paid off when he earned a scholarship to attend university in Guangzhou in the early 1970s. Moving to the "big city" was a huge culture shock for a country boy like Grandpa. He had never seen buildings taller than two stories before! However, he was determined to take advantage of this incredible opportunity for education and a better life.Grandpa studied electrical engineering and graduated at the top of his class. His first job was working for an electronics company here in Guangzhou. He was part of the team that helped develop some of the earliest consumer electronics liketelevisions, radios and rice cookers that became available in China in the late 1970s and 80s. How cool is that?In his mid-20s, Grandpa had the chance to further his education abroad as one of the first Chinese students to study in the United States after diplomatic ties were re-established in 1979. He attended graduate school at the University of California, Berkeley and later worked as an electrical engineer in Silicon Valley during its early tech boom years. Grandpa loves telling me stories about his time in America, living in the San Francisco bay area and experiencing Western culture. After several years working in the U.S., Grandpa made the difficult decision to return home to Guangzhou in the late 1980s to care for his aging parents. He went on to have a successful career working as an engineering manager for a major technology company here in the city. Grandpa was able to give his family (including my mom when she was a little girl) opportunities he never dreamed of from his humble beginnings in the poor countryside village where he was born.Even after retiring 15 years ago, Grandpa has stayed active and spends lots of his free time giving back to the community. He volunteers teaching math and science to underprivileged kids, hoping to inspire the same love of learning that transformed hisown life. Whenever my class goes on field trips to the science museum or planetarium, I get so proud seeing Grandpa serving as a knowledgeable tour guide. In his "spare" spare time, Grandpa has cultivated a love for gardening and grows the most amazing tiny garden of bonsai trees, beautifully sculpted from larger trees and plants. His bonsai garden is one of the most peaceful, zen environments I've ever experienced. Grandpa has taught me so much about the patience, balance, and harmony required to create and properly care for bonsai. It's almost like a living art form or meditation practice.More than anything, what I admire most about Grandpa is his humility, wisdom and generosity of spirit. Despite all of his accomplishments and life experience, he has never lost his humble, down-to-earth village roots. Grandpa doesn't brag whatsoever about his successful career or opportunities he received - he is incredibly grateful for every blessing and isn't materialistic at all.The wisest people are always the ones who can acknowledge how much they still have to learn. Grandpa definitely exemplifies this. At 72 years old, he still views himself as a lifelong student, sponging up as much knowledge from the world and peoplearound him as possible. I'll never forget his advice to me: "Never stop being curious. Don't be afraid to ask questions. That's the only way we can continually grow."Grandpa has such a kind, warm soul and is always giving of himself to help others. Just last month, he spent two weeks with our family helping my parents take care of my baby sister while they were both sick. Having Grandpa here to lend an extra set of loving hands meant so much during that stressful period. His calm, patient presence could bring peace to any chaotic situation!I could go on forever about why Grandpa means so much to me and is the most incredible person I know. His unbelievable life story - rising from poverty to great opportunities through hard work and perseverance, forging an accomplished career while staying humble and kind, his intellectual curiosity and passion for helping others...Grandpa is living proof that it's not what you're born into, but what you decide to make of yourself that defines the person you become. He has set an extremely high bar for the role model I hope to be for my own kids one day. If I can be even half as wise, caring and accomplished as Grandpa when I'm older, I'll consider myself a huge success. For now, I'll just do my best to soak up as muchof his guidance, stories and life lessons as possible. Grandpa - thank you for being you and inspiring me daily to be the best version of myself.篇3My Best Friend, LilyI want to introduce you to my best friend, Lily. She's the most amazing person I know, and I'm so lucky to have her in my life. Lily and I have been friends since we were in kindergarten, and we've been inseparable ever since.Lily is a year older than me, but that has never mattered. We're both in the 6th grade now, and we're in the same class. Lily is the smartest girl in our class, and she always gets the highest grades. She's really good at math and science, and she loves to read books about space and the universe. Lily wants to be an astronaut when she grows up, and I know she'll achieve her dream one day.But Lily isn't just smart; she's also really kind and caring. She's always there for me whenever I'm feeling sad or worried about something. She's a great listener, and she always knows just what to say to make me feel better. Lily is also really funny, and she always makes me laugh with her silly jokes and crazy stories. One of the things I love most about Lily is how adventurous she is. She's always up for trying new things, whether it's a new sport or a new hobby. Last year, we both joined the school's badminton team, and even though we were terrible at first, we kept practicing and eventually got pretty good. Lily never gives up, and she always encourages me to keep trying, too.Lily is also really creative. She's a great artist, and she loves to draw and paint. She's even won a few art competitions at school. But Lily's creativity doesn't stop there. She also loves to write stories and poems, and she's really good at it. Sometimes, she'll read her stories to me, and I'm always amazed at how talented she is.But Lily isn't just talented; she's also really humble. She never brags about her achievements or tries to make others feel bad. Instead, she always tries to help others and make them feel good about themselves. Lily is the kind of person who always puts others before herself, and that's one of the things I admire most about her.One of my favorite memories with Lily is when we went camping with our families last summer. We had so much funhiking, swimming, and roasting marshmallows over the campfire. But the best part was lying under the stars at night and talking about all the amazing things we wanted to do with our lives. Lily told me about her dream of becoming an astronaut and exploring the universe, and I told her about my dream of becoming a writer and creating amazing stories. No matter what happens in the future, I know that Lily and I will always be best friends. We've been through so much together already, and I know that our friendship can withstand anything. Lily is the most amazing person I know, and I'm so grateful to have her in my life. She inspires me every day to be the best version of myself, and I know that with her by my side, I can achieve anything I set my mind to.篇4My Superhero MomYou know how some kids say their mom is a superhero? Well, my mom really is one! She's the most amazing, hard-working, loving person I know. Let me tell you all about her.First of all, my mom is stunningly beautiful. She has long black hair that shines like silk. Her eyes are a warm brown that sparkle when she smiles. And her smile could light up a wholecity! She's tall and slim with perfect skin. But her beauty goes way beyond her looks. My mom has the kindest heart of anyone I've ever met. She's always thinking of others before herself. Like when my little brother was sick last winter, she stayed up all night holding him and keeping him comfortable. Or when our elderly neighbor Mrs. Wang fell and broke her hip, my mom went over every day to clean, cook meals, and keep her company until she recovered. My mom never thinks twice about helping people in need. Not only is she kind, but my mom is crazy smart too! She was at the very top of her class all through school. She could have become a doctor, scientist, lawyer - anything she wanted. Instead, she chose to become a teacher because she loves working with kids and helping them learn and grow. All of my friends say she's the best teacher ever. She makes even the hardest lessons easy to understand with her fun examples and patience. 六年级介绍名人优秀作文英语简短全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Inspiring Hero: Marie CurieHave you ever heard of Marie Curie? She was a famous scientist who made some really cool discoveries about radiation and radioactivity. Let me tell you more about why I think she was such an amazing person!Marie Curie was born in 1867 in Warsaw, which was part of Russia at that time. Her full name was Maria SalomeaSkłodowska, but she took the French name "Marie" when she moved to France. She came from a poor family, but she was really smart and loved learning about science and math from a young age. When Marie was just 10 years old, her mother died, which was very sad. But Marie didn't let that stop her from pursuing her dreams of getting an education. She studied really hard, often staying up late reading books with her sisters by candlelight since their family didn't have much money for fancy lamps.Even though Marie did incredibly well in school, it wasn't easy for her to go to university since she was a woman living in the 1800s. You see, back then women weren't really allowed or encouraged to get higher education like men were. But Marie didn't let that stop her either! She became a governess (which is kind of like a private tutor) to earn money so she could eventually attend an underground university called the Floating University. After years of hard work and perseverance, Marie was finally able to move to France in 1891 to attend the University of Paris, one of the best universities in Europe at that time. She was thrilled to finally have the chance to study science and math at such a prestigious school! That's where she met and fell in love with Pierre Curie, who was also a brilliant scientist.Marie and Pierre got married in 1895 and made an incredible team, working side-by-side in their humble little lab on the cutting edge of physics research. What they were most famous for was their pioneering work on radioactivity - that's the process where unstable atoms release energy and radiation. In 1896, they discovered a new radioactive element that they named "polonium" after Marie's home country of Poland. Then in 1898, they made an even bigger discovery - a new, intenselyradioactive element that they named "radium." This was a huge breakthrough at the time and provided many new insights into the mysteries of atoms and radiation. For their groundbreaking research on radioactivity, Marie and Pierre were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903, along with Henri Becquerel. Marie was the first woman to ever win a Nobel Prize! Sadly though, just a few years later in 1906, Pierre was killed after being hit by a horse-drawn wagon in a tragic accident. Even after losing her beloved husband, Marie carried on with her scientific work. Her hard work and amazing discoveries didn't go unnoticed. In 1911, Marie was awarded a second Nobel Prize, this time in the field of Chemistry! She was the first person ever to win the Nobel Prize twice. Pretty incredible, right? Marie dedicated the rest of her life to continuing her research on radioactivity and also training other young scientists. What I admire most about Marie Curie was her perseverance, brilliance, and passion for science despite all the obstacles she faced as a woman in those times. She once said, "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood." Marie never let things like being poor, losing loved ones, or facingdiscrimination and sexism stop her from achieving her goals. She was a true pioneer!Marie's work laid the foundation for many modern scientific fields like nuclear physics and radiation therapy for cancer treatment. She proved that women are just as capable as men when it comes to doing groundbreaking scientific research at the highest level. To me, Marie Curie is not only one of the greatest scientists who ever lived, but an inspiring role model who defied expectations and changed the world.篇2My Hero: Jane Goodall and Her Amazing Work with ChimpanzeesHave you ever dreamed of living in the jungle and studying amazing animals up close? That's exactly what Jane Goodall did! She's one of my biggest heroes and I'm going to tell you all about her incredible life and work.Jane was born on April 3rd, 1934 in London, England. Even as a little kid, she was obsessed with animals and animal stories. She loved the books of Tarzan and Dr. Dolittle and dreamed of living in Africa and talking to the animals herself one day. Can youimagine how excited she must have been when she finally got to go to Africa as a young woman in 1957?At that time, not many people knew much about chimpanzees and their behavior in the wild. Chimps are one of humans' closest relatives in the animal world, but scientists hadn't really studied them closely before. Jane had the opportunity to travel to what is now Tanzania and live in the Gombe Stream National Park to observe the chimpanzee groups living there. She was one of the first researchers to study great apes in their natural habitat rather than in zoos or labs.Living in the jungle and getting close to the chimpanzees was not easy at first. The chimps were afraid of Jane and would run away whenever she got near them. She had to be extremely patient, quiet, and still in order to earn their trust over time. Jane gave the chimps she observed nicknames like Fifi, David Greybeard, and Goliath so she could tell them apart. After months of careful watching, the chimps started to accept Jane's presence. She made incredible discoveries about how intelligent they are and how complex their behavior and family relationships are. She saw chimps making and using tools, something that was thought to be unique to humans. She watched them having "blood wars" with other chimp groupsover territory and food sources. She named the different chimp families and tracked their dramas, rivalries, and alliances over decades of research.Perhaps Jane's most famous observation was of a chimpanzee using a twig to "fish" or extract termites from a termite mound to eat them. This was amazing because until that point, science defined "humans" as "the tool-making species." Jane's finding showed that our closest genetic relatives could also make and use tools, which challenged previous assumptions.Over the course of nearly 60 years in Gombe, Jane revolutionized the field of primatology and taught the world so much about our fellow great apes. She wrote many books about her experiences, like In the Shadow of Man and Through a Window. She also worked hard to protect chimpanzee habitats from deforestation and the bush meat trade which threatened their populations. In 1977, Jane established the Jane Goodall Institute to support protection of chimpanzees through research, education, and promotion of sustainable livelihoods for local communities. Today, the institute is a global leader in great ape conservationacross Africa. Jane realized the local people and the chimps needed to be able to coexist peacefully long-term.At age 88, Jane is still an activist for animals and the environment. She travels the world nearly 300 days per year giving lectures and interviews about her work. Jane inspires young people through the Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots youth program in over 120 countries. The program empowers kids to make a difference through community service and civic action.I really admire Jane's courage to follow her childhood dream and live in a remote jungle in order to make scientific discoveries. Her patience, perseverance, and respect for the chimps as intelligent beings led her to overturn mistaken assumptions. She has done so much to help humans understand chimpanzees better and protect their habitats and survival. Jane once said, "What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." Her life is a shining example of making a positive difference for animals and the planet. I hope that when I grow up, I can be as brave, curious, and determined as Jane Goodall in pursuing my passion and doing important work that betters the world.篇3My Favorite Famous Person: Marie CurieHave you ever heard of Marie Curie? She's one of the most famous scientists who ever lived! Marie Curie was a Polish woman born in 1867. Even though women didn't have very many rights or opportunities back then, Marie worked incredibly hard and made some amazing discoveries in physics and chemistry.Marie grew up in Warsaw, which is the capital of Poland. Her father was a teacher and she was the youngest of five children. From a very young age, Marie was a brilliant student who loved learning, especially math and science. She would read every book she could get her hands on!When Marie was 10 years old, her oldest sister fell very ill. Sadly, there was a lack of good doctors and hospitals in Poland at that time. Marie's sister passed away, which was extremely difficult for the family. This tragedy made Marie realize how important science and medicine were. She decided she wanted to help make the world a better place through her study of science. After finishing at the top of her high school class, Marie wanted to continue studying at an advanced university level. However, universities in Poland did not accept female students back then. Can you imagine? Marie was so determined that shecontinued taking classes illegally until she was finally able to enroll at an underground, illegal university for women.Marie had to work as a governess and tutor to earn money during this time. She worked day and night, studying advanced courses like physics, chemistry and math. Finally, in 1891 when she was 24 years old, Marie was able to enroll at the prestigious University of Paris in France to pursue a degree in physics. In Paris, Marie met Pierre Curie, a brilliant scientist who was her instructor. The two fell in love because of their shared passion for science. They were married in 1895 and went on to change the world together through their scientific research and discoveries. The most famous work of Marie and Pierre Curie was their groundbreaking research into a new scientific field called "radioactivity." Radioactivity refers to some elements and materials that naturally give off energy and light. Marie coined the term "radioactivity" to describe this phenomenon. The Curies experimented tirelessly with different chemical elements and materials, trying to understand the source of radioactivity. In 1898, they discovered two new chemical elements that were highly radioactive - polonium (named afterMarie's home country of Poland) and radium. This was one of the greatest scientific breakthroughs in history!Marie had to devise her own special techniques and equipment to safely study these dangerous radioactive materials. She spent years painstakingly extracting small amounts of radium from tons of the mineral pitchblende. Marie's work enabled radical new treatments and understanding of radioactivity and atomic energy. In 1903, Marie and Pierre Curie, along with Henri Becquerel, were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics. This made Marie the first woman in history to win a Nobel Prize! She remains one of only a few individuals to win the Nobel Prize twice, as she also won the 1911 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for her discovery of the elements radium and polonium.Marie Curie's pioneering work laid the foundation for many modern scientific fields we still use and study today, like nuclear physics, radiation therapy for cancer treatment, X-rays, and even solar batteries. Her work proved that women are just as capable as men when it comes to elite scientific research and discovery.Tragically, Pierre Curie was killed in an accident in 1906 when he was struck by a horse-drawn carriage. This left Marie a widow with two young daughters to support on her own. Despite thedevastating loss and challenges of being a single working mother, Marie persevered and took over Pierre's teaching position at the University of Paris, becoming the first woman professor there.Throughout her life, Marie faced incredible hardship, discrimination and adversity simply because she was a woman trying to work and make her way in the male-dominated sciences. She had to use special lead-lined protective gear while working with radioactive materials, which eventually took a toll on her health. Marie's Papers from the 1890s are still too radioactive to handle, even today!Marie Curie died in 1934 at the age of 66 from complications caused by her prolonged exposure to radiation during her research. However, her brilliant mind, grit, determination and passion for science contributed some of the most important discoveries and achievements in human history. She overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles and discrimination to blaze a trail for future women in science.I am in awe of Marie Curie's bravery, brilliance and persistence in the face of adversity. She never took no for an answer or let anything stop her from achieving her dreams in science. Marie once said, "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is onlyto be understood." That inspires me to face challenges with curiosity and determination, just like she did. I hope to make the world a better place through science and discovery, following in Marie Curie's pioneering footsteps.篇4My Hero: Marie CurieHave you ever heard of Marie Curie? She was one of the most amazing scientists who ever lived! Marie Curie is my hero because she never gave up, even when things were really hard. She discovered two new elements and was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. Let me tell you all about her incredible life.Marie was born in 1867 in Warsaw, which is now the capital of Poland. Back then, Poland was ruled by Russia and Polish people weren't treated very well. Marie's parents really valued education and made sure Marie and her siblings studied hard. Marie was such a good student that she had to do her studying in secret because universities in Poland didn't accept women at that time! When Marie was 10 years old, her older sister became very sick. Watching her suffer inspired Marie to want to become a scientist and find cures for diseases. She knew she would have toleave Poland to get a good education, so at age 24 she went to France to attend the University of Paris.Life was really difficult for Marie in Paris. She was very poor and had to survive on little food and live in a tiny, freezing apartment. But she studied harder than anyone and got the highest scores in her classes. In 1894, she met a professor named Pierre Curie who was just as passionate about science as she was. They fell in love and got married the next year. The Curies started researching a strange phenomenon called radioactivity. Using tons of pitchblende, a radioactive mineral, they discovered two new elements that gave off radiation - radium and polonium. Radium glowed a brilliant blue color and could be used for x-rays and cancer treatments. It took years of backbreaking work to purify enough radium for experiments. The Curies had to grind up tons of pitchblende by hand and use dangerous chemicals. The fumes made Marie desperately ill, but she kept going. In 1903, the Curies and another scientist were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for their radium and polonium discoveries!Sadly, Pierre was killed in a tragic accident in 1906 when he was struck by a horse-drawn carriage. Heartbroken but determined, Marie took over his teaching position at theUniversity of Paris, becoming the first female professor there. No woman had ever done that before! In 1911, Marie won her second Nobel Prize, this time in Chemistry, for her work on radium. She was the first person ever to win the Nobel Prize twice. Her research was so important, but it also caused her terrible health problems from radiation exposure.During World War I, Marie invented a mobile x-ray machine that could be used to treat wounded soldiers on the battlefield. She drove the x-ray truck herself to the frontlines, putting herself in great danger but saving many lives. What courage!Marie Curie accomplished so many amazing firsts for women in science. But it wasn't easy at all. She faced poverty, discrimination, illness, and tragedy. Still, she worked harder than anyone and never stopped believing in herself and the power of science. Her grit, brilliance, and humanity make her one of the most inspirational figures in history.Marie's story shows that you should never give up on your dreams, no matter how hard things get. If you are determined and work your hardest, you can change the world like she did. I know Marie Curie will inspire generations of boys and girls to come to love science and use it to make the world a better place.篇5My Hero: Jane GoodallHave you ever wondered what it would be like to live among chimpanzees in the wild? That's exactly what Jane Goodall, one of the world's most famous primatologists and anthropologists, did for over 60 years! She is my biggest hero and inspiration.Jane was born in 1934 in London, England. Even as a young child, she was fascinated by animals and dreamed of living with them in their natural habitats in Africa. When she was just 23 years old, she got the chance to travel to what is now Tanzania and study chimpanzees up close in Gombe Stream National Park.At that time, hardly anyone had tried to observe chimps in the wild before. Most scientists thought it was impossible to get close to them without disturbing their natural behaviors. But Jane was incredibly patient, spending hours sitting quietly in the rainforest, letting the chimpanzees get used to her presence. Slowly but surely, they began accepting her into their world. One of Jane's most groundbreaking discoveries was that chimpanzees are capable of making and using tools. She observed them stripping leaves off twigs to "fish" for termites, and breaking off branches to use as tools for gathering food orscaring away predators. This showed that humans aren't the only beings with intelligence and ability to use objects as tools.Jane also found that chimpanzees have very complex social lives, with friendships, conflicts, and even warring factions, kind of like humans! They communicate through calls, gestures, and even hugs and kisses. She realized that chimpanzees are so much more like us than anyone had imagined. But Jane's work wasn't just about observing the chimps. She also made it her mission to protect them and their habitats from threats like deforestation, poaching, and disease. She started programs to stop illegal hunting and habitat destruction in Africa. And she helped establish new protected areas for endangered species.Jane's tireless efforts to understand and protect chimpanzees have inspired millions of people around the world. She has written many books about her experiences and findings. Some of her most famous ones are In the Shadow of Man, The Chimpanzees of Gombe, and Reason for Hope. Her work has been featured in countless TV shows and documentaries too. What I admire most about Jane is her patience, determination, and lifelong commitment to helping animals and the environment. Even though she faced a lot of doubters andobstacles early on, she never gave up on her dream. Now at 88 years old, she is still an activist, speaking out to raise awareness about threats to chimpanzees and the need to protect their forest homes.Jane once said, "What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." Those words have really stuck with me. I want to make a positive difference in this world, just like Jane has done through her tireless work as a scientist, conservationist, and educator. Her life and achievements have taught me that you don't have to be a certain type of person or come from a privileged background to achieve great things. It just takes passion, perseverance, and compassion for all living beings. Jane grew up loving animals, pursued her dreams, and ended up revolutionizing our understanding of our closest relatives in the animal kingdom.I feel so lucky to be living in a world that Jane Goodall has impacted through her groundbreaking research and advocacy. She is a true pioneer and real-life hero. I hope that someday I can leave as lasting and meaningful a legacy as she has. Her incredible spirit of curiosity, adventure, and determination willalways inspire me to work hard to make this planet a better place for humans, animals and nature alike.篇6My Hero: Marie CurieHave you ever heard of Marie Curie? She was a famous scientist who made incredible discoveries over 100 years ago. Even though she lived a long time ago, her work changed the world and still impacts us today. That's why I consider her my hero!Marie was born in Poland in 1867. When she was a kid, she loved learning about science and nature. Girls back then didn't always get the same education as boys, but Marie's parents valued education for all their children. Marie worked very hard and was a brilliant student. After finishing school in Poland, Marie went to university in Paris, France to study physics and math. This was unusual for a woman at that time. Most women didn't get to go to university. Marie had to overcome many challenges as she pursued her dream of becoming a scientist. In 1895, Marie met a professor named Pierre Curie. They fell in love, got married, and became scientific partners. They made an amazing discovery together - a new element they named "radium." Radium is radioactive, which means it gives off energy kind of like a fire, but you can't see the energy. The Curies' work with radium helped launch a whole new field of science called "radioactivity." Their findings allowed later scientists to develop important things like X-ray machines and treatments for cancer. For their pioneering work on radioactivity, Marie and Pierre were awarded the prestigious Nobel Prize in 1903, along with another scientist named Henri Becquerel.Sadly, Pierre was killed in an accident just a few years after winning the Nobel Prize. But Marie kept working tirelessly in her lab. In an amazing achievement, she won a second Nobel Prize in 1911 for her discovery of two new chemical elements - polonium and radium. She was the first person ever to win the Nobel Prize twice!Marie had to deal with many hardships in her life beyond just being a woman in a male-dominated field. She lost her husband, faced criticism from other scientists, and struggled to get funding for her research. But she never gave up. Her brilliant mind and courageous spirit drove her to keep making newdiscoveries that helped advance our understanding of physics, chemistry, and medicine. The effects of Marie's work are still seen today. Many modern technologies like nuclear power, radiation therapy for cancer treatment, and household smoke detectors all rely on principles of radioactivity that Marie and Pierre discovered. Marie was a true pioneer. But more importantly to me, Marie showed that with passion, hard work, and perseverance, you can overcome obstacles and achieve amazing things - even things that "can't be done." She inspires me to dream big, work hard, and never give up on my goals no matter how difficult they may seem. That's why Marie Curie will always be my hero!。

六年级下册英语第三单元介绍一位名人的作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Who is Your Hero? All of us have people we look up to and admire. They inspire us to dream big and work hard. My biggest hero is Marie Curie, the pioneering scientist who made amazing discoveries in physics and chemistry.Marie was born in Poland in 1867. From a young age, she was a incredibly bright student who loved learning, especially mathematics and science. However, being a woman in those days made it very difficult for her to get a good education or pursue a career in academia.Poland was under Russian control at the time, and the universities did not accept Polish students. This did not stop the determined Marie. She attended an underground, illegal university known as the Floating University to continue studying. Can you imagine having to sneak around just to learn? Marie's thirst for knowledge was unquenchable. When Marie was 24 years old, she was finally able to enroll at the University of Paris in France to study physics and mathematics. As one of the few female students, she faced many challenges, but her brilliance could not be denied. She earned degrees in physics and mathematical sciences. It was around this time that Marie met Pierre Curie, a scientist who would become her husband and closest collaborator. The two were unitedly deeply in love with science. Marie once wrote, "Nothing is to be feared, it is only to be understood." This outlook drove her curiosity and passion for unlocking the mysteries of the natural world. In 1896, Marie began studying a strange phenomenon called radioactivity, which had recently been discovered. Using dangerous and pioneering techniques, she isolated two new elements - radium and polonium. This was an extraordinary achievement that no one thought possible!Radium in particular proved to be an extremely powerful source of energy. Marie's work laid the foundations for many modern fields including atomic physics and nuclear chemistry. She helped us understand the awesome power contained within the tiniest particles.Marie and Pierre worked tirelessly in a shabby, unventilated shed studying these new radioactive materials. Sadly, the scientific work that made Marie famous also exposed her to extremely high levels of radiation. This radiation is what eventually caused her to develop leukemia, the cancer of the blood that took her life in 1934 at age 66.Even after Pierre's tragic accidental death in 1906, Marie bravely continued her scientific research. In 1911, she became the first person ever to win two Nobel Prizes - one in Physics for her pioneering work on radioactivity, and another in Chemistry for isolating radium. No one has matched this incredible achievement to this day.During World War I, Marie bravely tended to wounded soldiers using X-rays she helped develop. She taught doctors how to use her radiology techniques to better treat injuries and make medical discoveries. Marie showed there were no limits to what women could accomplish through hard work and perseverance. Why do I admire Marie Curie so much? For one, she represents the endless possibilities of human potential. Despite facing discrimination, poverty, and countless obstacles just for being a woman, she never gave up on her passion for scienceand truth. Marie carved out her place in history through sheer grit and brilliance. She was also amazingly humble, turning down prestigious job offers to continue her research work. In her autobiography, Marie wrote: "Life is not easy for any of us. But it must not be a dull existence - we must cast aside sadness and find joy in work."Most of all, Marie's determination shows how curiosity and hard work can change our understanding of the world. Her pioneering studies into radioactivity laid the foundations for modern physics, chemistry, medicine and engineering.Whenever I look through a X-ray machine at the dentist, receive radiation therapy for an illness, or learn about nuclear power, I think of the great Marie Curie. Her brilliance and sacrifice blazed a trail for others to follow. Marie shines as an inspiration for young students like myself to pursue our passions with courage.Despite her incredible accomplishments, Marie remained humble and dedicated fully to expanding human knowledge. In her own words: "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."篇2My Favorite Celebrity - Taylor SwiftHi everyone! She was a really amazing scientist who lived a long time ago. Marie Curie was born in 1867 in Warsaw, which is now the capital of Poland, but back then it was part of Russia. Her full name was Maria Salomea Skłodowska, but she's best known as Marie Curie.Marie came from a family that valued education a lot. Her father was a teacher and her mother was the principal at anall-girls school. Even though women didn't have very many opportunities back then, Marie's parents always encouraged her to study hard and pursue her interests in science and math. When Marie was 10 years old, her oldest sister died of typhus, which is a terrible disease spread by lice. This was really hard on Marie and her family. But Marie kept working hard in school because she dreamed of one day becoming a scientist and making important discoveries. It wasn't easy though. In Russian-controlled Poland at that time, the universities were not allowed to teach in Polish and women were not allowed to get higher education. So Marie had to attend an underground, illegal university called the FloatingUniversity. She took classes in secret with other students who wanted to learn. After graduating, Marie wanted to continue her studies in science but she couldn't afford to go to university. Her brother gave her some of his money so she could move to France and attend the University of Paris. This was a huge opportunity for Marie because French universities actually allowed women to enroll! In Paris, Marie had to live in a tiny, freezing apartment and survive on very little money. She had to struggle a lot, but she remained dedicated to her studies. In 1893, she earned degrees in physics and math, which was an amazing accomplishment for a woman in those days. The next year, Marie met a professor named Pierre Curie who was interested in the same areas of science. The two got married in 1895 and began working as research partners, studying a new phenomenon called radioactivity. This was uncharted scientific territory at the time.Marie and Pierre spent years experimenting and investigating radioactivity. Through this work, they discovered two new chemical elements that give off radiation - polonium(named after Marie's homeland of Poland) and radium. This was a groundbreaking achievement in physics and chemistry! For their pioneering work on radioactivity, Marie and Pierre were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903, along with another scientist named Henri Becquerel. Marie Curie was the first woman ever to receive a Nobel Prize! Sadly though, Pierre Curie was killed in an accident just a few years later when he was struck by a horse-drawn wagon.Even after her husband's tragic death, Marie Curie kept working tirelessly and making more major contributions to science. In 1911, she received a second Nobel Prize in Chemistry for her discovery of the elements polonium and radium. To this day, she remains the only person to ever win the Nobel Prize twice in multiple scientific fields.During World War I, Marie Curie dedicated herself to helping the war effort. She developed mobile x-ray units called "petit Curies" that could be used to treat soldiers injured in battle. She drove these x-ray vehicles herself to the battlefront, facing danger to help wounded soldiers. Marie Curie's work saved countless lives and helped make x-rays an important medical tool.Marie Curie accomplished so many amazing things as a scientist and had to overcome so many obstacles as a woman in her time period. But she never gave up on her dream of making groundbreaking discoveries. Her work proved that women are just as capable as men when it comes to science, math, and academics.Sadly, Curie's lifetime work with radioactive materials took a major toll on her health. She was constantly exposed to high levels of radiation during her research, not realizing how dangerous it was. Marie Curie passed away in 1934 at age 66 from illnesses caused by radiation exposure.Even though her life was cut short, Marie Curie left behind an incredible legacy as one of the most influential scientists in history. She opened doors for women in science and made pioneering contributions in the study of radioactivity and its medical uses.Marie Curie showed that with hard work, intelligence, and perseverance, a person can overcome any obstacles and achieve greatness. She inspires me to always keep pursuing my passions and to never let anyone tell me I can't succeed because of my gender. Marie Curie is proof that women can change the world through science.I hope you found this essay interesting and that you learned something new about the remarkable life of Marie Curie. She is definitely one of my biggest heroes and role models. Even though Marie lived over 100 years ago, her achievements and spirit of determination still motivate people like me today.篇6My Favorite CelebrityHi everyone! 写关于介绍一个名人的英语作文50字六年级全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Hero: Serena WilliamsYou know how some people are just really, really good at something? Like, they're so amazing that you can't even imagine being that talented? That's how I feel about Serena Williams and tennis. She's my hero and I'm going to tell you all about why she's so incredible.First of all, her tennis skills are out of this world! She hits the ball so hard and fast, it's like a rocket launcher. And the way she moves around the court is like a cheetah chasing its prey. She's so quick and agile, it's crazy. But it's not just her physical abilities that make her great. She also has this intense determination and mental toughness that I've never seen in anyone else. When Serena steps onto the court, you can see the fire in her eyes. She's there to win, no matter what. And she never gives up, even when she's down and things look really bad. I've seen her come back from losing the first set and being behind in the second to somehow find a way to turn it all around and win. It'slike she has this magical power to just dig deeper than anyone else and find that extra gear when she needs it most. But it's not just her skills and determination that make her my hero. It's also the way she carries herself and the example she sets. Despite all her success and fame, she remains humble and down-to-earth. She never brags or acts like she's better than anyone else. And she's always gracious, whether she wins or loses. But what I really admire about Serena is how she's used her platform to inspire and empower others, especially young girls and women. She's been outspoken about issues like gender equality, body image, and racism in sports. She's shown that you can be a powerful, strong woman and still be feminine and beautiful. And she's never let anyone's doubts or criticisms hold her back from achieving her dreams.Whenever I feel like giving up or letting other people's negative words get me down, I think about Serena and how she's faced so much adversity and criticism throughout her career, but she's never let it stop her. She just keeps pushing forward and proving her doubters wrong, time and time again.I'll never forget the time I got to see her play in person. It was the most amazing experience ever. The way she commandedthe court and the crowd was mesmerizing. And when she won the match, the whole stadium was going crazy, cheering her on. It was like we were all part of something bigger than just a tennis match. We were witnessing greatness in action. And that's what Serena Williams represents to me –greatness. She's shown that with hard work, determination, and an unwavering belief in yourself, you can achieve anything you set your mind to, no matter how impossible it may seem. She's broken down barriers and shattered glass ceilings, and she's inspired millions of people around the world to dream big and never give up on their goals. So yeah, Serena Williams is my hero. She's the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) in tennis, but she's so much more than that. She's a role model, an inspiration, and a true champion in every sense of the word. And I hope that one day, I can be even half as amazing as she is.篇2My Biggest Hero: Neil ArmstrongHave you ever dreamed of walking on the moon? Well, my hero Neil Armstrong actually did it! He was the first person ever to set foot on the lunar surface. How crazy is that?Neil Armstrong was born in 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Even as a little kid, he was obsessed with airplanes and flying. When he was 6 years old, he went to the Cleveland Air Races and got so excited watching the planes zoom through the sky. From that moment on, he knew he wanted to be a pilot. As a teenager, Armstrong took flying lessons and got his student pilot's license before he could even drive a car! After high school, he studied aeronautical engineering at Purdue University. He was an excellent student and even had a student job at a drug store to pay for flying lessons. After graduating, Armstrong joined the U.S. Navy and became a test pilot. His job was to fly brand new, experimental planes for the first time to test them out. It was extremely dangerous work, but Armstrong was brave and skilled enough to handle it. Over his career, he flew nearly 200 different aircraft models! In 1962, Armstrong was selected by NASA to join the astronaut program. His first mission into space was the Gemini 8 in 1966. During that flight, there was a critical malfunction and Armstrong had to take over manual control of the spacecraft to prevent a disaster. Everyone was amazed at how calmly and skillfully he handled the emergency.Because of his incredible piloting talents and his coolness under pressure, Armstrong was chosen to be the commander for the historic Apollo 11 lunar landing mission in 1969. On July 20th of that year, the tiny lunar lander carrying Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin seperated from the main spacecraft and began its descent to the moon's surface. As they got closer, Armstrong had to take over the controls because the computer was headed for a boulder-filled crater area that would be too dangerous for landing. Armstrong found a safe spot and landed the delicate craft with just seconds of fuel remaining! His famous first words from the moon were, "The Eagle has landed."A few hours later, Armstrong climbed down the ladder of the lander and firmly planted his boot into the powdery, gray lunar soil. "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," he said in that unforgettable moment watched by millions of awestruck people on Earth.Armstrong and Aldrin spent about 2.5 hours out on the moon's surface. They took photographs, set up scientific experiments, and collected nearly 50 pounds of rock and soil samples to bring back for study. When it was time to leave, Armstrong had to skillfully maneuver the lander's engines to liftoff from the moon's weak gravity and rejoin the main spacecraft for the journey back to Earth. The whole mission was an amazing accomplishment! After returning home as a world famous hero, Armstrong resigned from NASA in 1971. He went on to teach aerospace engineering at the University of Cincinnati for many years. Even though he was such a celebrated astronaut, Armstrong stayed very humble and private. He didn't like giving autographs or making a big deal about his incredible achievements. To me, Neil Armstrong is the greatest American hero who ever lived. Not only was he an amazing pilot and astronaut, but he risked his life to accomplish something no one else had ever done before. His bravery, skill, and coolness under pressure allowed him to go where no man had gone before. He made one of the most daring and historic journeys in all of human history.Armstrong proved that with hard work, determination, and perseverance, you really can achieve your wildest dreams - even walking on the moon! His "one small step" was truly a "giant leap" that inspired the whole world and sparked our continuing exploration of space. Neil Armstrong's unforgettable moon landing will be remembered and celebrated forever. He's my biggest hero of all time!篇3My Biggest Hero: Neil ArmstrongWho is your biggest hero? For me, it's Neil Armstrong - the first person to ever walk on the moon! He was an American astronaut who made history with the famous words: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."Neil Armstrong was born in 1930 in Ohio. As a kid, he loved studying airplanes and flight. He got his student pilot's license before he could even drive a car! During college, he became an amazing pilot in the Navy. He flew nearly 80 combat missions during the Korean War. After the war, he joined NASA's astronaut program. In 1966, Neil Armstrong was picked to be the commander for the historic Apollo 11 moon mission. On July 16th, 1969, a powerful Saturn V rocket blasted Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins into space. Their destination? The moon!It took them four days to get there. When they arrived in lunar orbit, Armstrong and Aldrin transferred into the lunar module nicknamed "Eagle." Collins stayed behind orbiting in the command module. Armstrong and Aldrin began their descent. But with minutes left, computer alarms went off and theguidance system temporarily failed! It was really tense. Luckily, Armstrong calmly landed Eagle with his brilliant flying skills. As they landed, Armstrong announced: "The Eagle has landed!" Those words were heard all over the world. A few hours later, at 10:56 PM on July 20th, 1969, Armstrong opened Eagle's hatch and made his way down the ladder. When he finally stepped onto the powdery surface, he said his famous quote about the "giant leap for mankind." I get chills every time I hear it!Armstrong and Aldrin spent over 21 hours exploring and conducting experiments on the lunar surface. They took photos, planted an American flag, collected rock samples, and even hit a golf ball! After their historic moonwalk, they reunited with Collins and headed back to Earth. When they returned home, the three astronauts were celebrated as heroes by people all around the world. There were parades in their honor in cities like New York and Chicago. They were awarded the highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom. After his moon mission, Neil Armstrong left NASA and became a professor at the University of Cincinnati. But his legacy as the first man on the moon will live on forever. His bravery, skills, and coolness under pressure allowed humankind to achieve one of its greatest accomplishments.Neil Armstrong sadly passed away in 2012 at the age of 82. But his legendary moonwalk continues to inspire generations of explorers, astronauts, scientists, and dreamers. He once said: "Mystery creates wonder, and wonder is the basis for mankind's desire to understand." Armstrong's moonwalk was one of history's greatest mysteries solved and wonders revealed. To me, Neil Armstrong will forever be my biggest hero and role model. His incredible journey to the moon showed me that with hard work, perseverance, and big dreams, we really can achieve the impossible. I hope that one day I too can push the boundaries of exploration and make a "giant leap" that inspires the world.篇4My Favorite Famous Person: Malala YousafzaiHave you ever heard of Malala Yousafzai? She's one of the bravest and most inspiring people I know. Malala is a Pakistani activist who has fought tirelessly for girls' education rights. Even though she's still quite young, she has accomplished so much already!Malala was born in 1997 in the Swat Valley region of Pakistan. From a very young age, she loved going to school and learning new things. However, the Taliban militant group had taken control of her town. They started issuing threats against girls' education. They actually banned girls from attending school! Can you imagine not being allowed to go to school just because you're a girl? Malala couldn't accept that. At just 11 years old, she began speaking out publicly against the Taliban's policies. She gave speeches and wrote a blog under a fake name about her desire for all girls to have access to education. In 2012, when Malala was 15 years old, something truly horrific happened. A gunman boarded her school bus and shot her in the head! The Taliban had tried to assassinate her because they didn't want her speaking out. Thankfully, Malala survived the attack after receiving emergency medical treatment. After recovering, Malala didn't back down from her activism. In fact, she became even more determined! She continued advocating for girls' education rights on a global scale. In 2014, when she was just 17 years old, Malala received the Nobel Peace Prize. She was the youngest person ever to win that prestigious award! These days, Malala uses her platform to speak out about injustices and inequalities girls face in getting an education around the world. She runs the Malala Fund, which works to remove barriers preventing over 130 million girls from going to school. Her courage and resilience in fighting for such an important cause is just amazing.I really admire Malala for her bravery and for never giving up, no matter how difficult things got. She faced threats to her life for simply wanting to go to school and learn. Yet she refused to be intimidated or silenced. Malala's story proves that one person really can make a positive difference in the world. Her fight for girls' education continues today. Malala says, "One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world." I believe her words and hope to follow her inspiring example of using my voice for good. Malala is living proof that we should never underestimate the power of students to create change. She's more than just a famous person to me. Malala Yousafzai is a real-life hero who has shown incredible strength, resilience and dedication to an important cause. She overcame unimaginable adversity and tackles difficult issues head-on. I'm in awe of her courage and accomplishments at such a young age.Malala's story motivates me to always stand up for what's right, work hard, get an education, and use my voice to make the world a little bit better. That's why she's my favorite famous person!篇5My Favorite Famous Person: Malala YousafzaiHave you ever heard of Malala Yousafzai? She's this super brave and inspiring Pakistani girl who stood up for girls' education rights even though it put her own life in danger. I think Malala is really cool and I want to tell you all about her amazing life story.Malala was born in 1997 in the Swat Valley region of Pakistan. When she was just a young kid, a group of extremists called the Taliban took over the area. The Taliban didn't believe girls should be allowed to go to school and get an education. Can you imagine that? Not being able to learn reading, writing, math and all the other important things we learn in school?Even though the Taliban made a bunch of strict rules against girls going to school, Malala kept attending classes because her parents were really supportive of her education. Her father Ziauddin actually owned and ran a school themselves. Malala loved learning and was an excellent student from an early age. When Malala was 11 years old in 2008, the Taliban issued an outright ban on girls attending school in Swat Valley. But Malala didn't let that stop her from speaking out. She started writing an anonymous blog for the BBC where she chronicled her life under Taliban rule and advocated for girls' education rights. She used the name Gul Makai for safety reasons.Through her blog, Malala quickly became a public voice and symbol of resistance against the Taliban's oppressive policies towards women and girls. In 2009, she even gave a speech titled "How dare the Taliban take away my basic right to education?" Wow, that took some serious courage, especially at such a young age!Malala continued her activism and public speaking over the next few years, despite constant death threats from the Taliban. Sadly, their threats turned out to be very real. On October 9th, 2012, a masked gunman boarded Malala's school bus and shot her in the head at point-blank range. Miraculously, she survived the horrific attack after months of medical treatment.Rather than being silenced, the assassination attempt only amplified Malala's voice and cause on a global scale. People all over the world rallied behind her with vigils and protests againstthe Taliban. She won Pakistan's first National Youth Peace Prize and was nominated for the International Children's Peace Prize. In 2013, Malala and her family were forced to leave Pakistan for their safety and relocated to England. There, Malala kept up her studies at a girls' secondary school while also writing a best-selling book called "I Am Malala" that detailed her incredible journey. In 2014, at just 17 years old, Malala was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, making her the youngest person to ever receive that honor! Her powerful quote about the prize says it all: "One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world." She donated her entire 500,000 prize to finance a secondary school for girls in Pakistan. Now 25 years old, Malala has become a renowned international advocate for human rights, women's rights and access to quality education for girls all over the world. She travels the globe visiting refugee camps, fundraising, giving speeches and literally putting her life on the line to make the world a better place.I think Malala's life story is just mind-blowing. She went through something so traumatic, but instead of being defeated, she turned it into a global movement to empower young girlsthrough education. Her courage, resilience and passion for helping others is really motivating. She makes me want to stay dedicated to my own studies and find ways that I can also make a positive difference, even as a kid.To me, Malala represents the importance of fighting for your beliefs and human rights, no matter what obstacles you face. She is living proof that even young people can be powerful voices for change that impact the whole world. When I think about how fearlessly Malala stood up to extremely dangerous people like the Taliban at such a young age, it inspires me to be brave and have conviction in what I know is right. I hope her story can motivate you too!篇6Who is Walt Disney? If you ask any kid who Walt Disney is, they will probably tell you he's the guy who created Mickey Mouse and all those wonderful Disney movies. But Walt Disney was so much more than that! He was an artist, entrepreneur, innovator, and pioneer of the American animation industry. Let me tell you all about this remarkable man.Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. He was one of five children, four boys and a girl. When Walt was four years old, his family moved to a farm in Marceline, Missouri. Some of Walt's happiest childhood memories were from living on this friendly farm town. He loved exploring the great outdoors and developed a love for drawing pictures of animals and nature scenes. When Walt was older, his family moved to Kansas City. While in school, Walt began developing a keen interest in art and photography. After graduating high school, he tried to join the Army but was rejected because he was too young. Determined to still contribute, 16-year-old Walt joined the Red Cross and was sent to France for a year once the war ended, driving an ambulance and chauffeuring Red Cross officials. After returning to the U.S., Walt moved to Kansas City to pursue a career as an artist. He got a job as an artist at an advertising company, making commercials based on cutout animations. It was here that Walt discovered his true calling - animation and cartoons. These early creative works were the seeds that would one day blossom into the mighty oak tree known as the Walt Disney Company. In 1923, Walt Disney moved to Hollywood with just 40 in his pocket and big dreams. Along with his brother Roy, he set up the Disney Brothers Studio. Here he created and produced the first few classic Disney cartoons starring his iconic character, Mickey Mouse. "Steamboat Willie" in 1928 was the first cartoon with synchronized sound and music, revolutionizing animation forever. As Mickey's popularity soared through animated shorts, Walt pushed to make the very first full-length animated film - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937. The production was an enormous risk, employing a team of over 500 artists who created over 250,000 drawings frame-by-frame. But Snow White was a huge hit, pioneering a new art form and proving Walt's ambitious vision was possible. From there, Walt just kept pushing the boundaries of animation and storytelling through classic films like Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi. He also began expanding the Disney company into television, theme parks, and merchandising. The world's first Disney theme park, Disneyland, opened in 1955 in Anaheim, California to astounding success.Walt Disney wasn't just an incredible visionary, he was also a true innovator. His animation studios pioneered manyadvancement in cameras, special effects, sound effects, and other audio/visual technologies. Walt was one of the first to embrace television and its potential, starting the iconic Walt Disney anthology TV series. He produced some of TV's firstfull-length movies like "The Shaggy Dog." Always pushing forward, Walt was also an early adviser and investor in what would become photocopying technology.Despite his creativity and ambitious vision, Walt Disney never lost his childlike sense of wonder, enthusiasm, and optimism. He firmly believed that all his stories should project strong ideals like good conquering evil, never lying, and keeping promises. Walt lived by the creed: "I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse." He was truly the greatest storyteller of the 20th century.Sadly, Walt Disney passed away on December 15, 1966 from lung cancer at the too-young age of 65. In his lifetime, he won 22 Academy Awards and garnered over 950 honors and public recognitions from all over the world. But Walt's true legacy lives on through the amazing Disney studios, movies, parks, and merchandise that have brought joy and inspiration to billions worldwide across multiple generations.Today, Walt Disney's creations have touched the lives of kids and adults in every corner of the globe. Mickey Mouse is one of the most recognizable icons ever created, with the third most recognizable face in the world behind Santa Claus and Jesus Christ. Kids and grownups alike continue to be enthralled by Disney's magical worlds of animation, from the classic golden age films to today's Pixar blockbusters. And the incredible Disney parks and resorts allow all people, young and old, to be transported to realms of fun, imagination, and make-believe adventure.Simply put, Walt Disney was a true trailblazer who changed the face of entertainment forever. But beyond his visionary talents and commercial achievements, his lasting gift to the world was instilling that priceless childlike sense of wonder, optimism, and belief that our fondest dreams can become reality, no matter how impossible they may seem. As Walt himself said: "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." Amen to that, Walt. You continue to inspire kids and kids-at-heart around the world every day.。

六年级下册介绍人物英语作文范文五句全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Grandpa is the Best!I want to tell you about my grandpa. He's the coolest person I know! My grandpa's name is Jonathan but I call him Pops. Pops is 72 years old but he acts way younger than that. He has white hair and wrinkles on his face from smiling so much over the years.Pops used to be a teacher when he was younger. He taught science at the middle school down the street from where we live. Pops loved being a teacher because he got to help kids learn new things every day. Even though he's retired now, he still loves learning and teaching me stuff.Whenever I go over to Pops' house, he always has some kind of fun activity or project planned for us to do together. One time we built a model rocket ship and launched it in his backyard. Another time we made our own volcano using baking soda, vinegar, and food coloring. It was so awesome when the "lava"started oozing out! Pops has a huge imagination and comes up with the coolest ideas. My favorite thing about Pops is how funny he is. He's always cracking jokes and doing silly voices or sound effects. He makes me laugh so hard my stomach hurts sometimes! Like when we're playing cards, he'll do a robot voice and say "You have activated my poker face protocol!" Pops says laughter is the best medicine for anything.Pops is also really caring and kind. He's the one who taught me to always be respectful, work hard, and treat others how I want to be treated. Pops goes out of his way to help anyone he can, like shoveling the elderly neighbor's driveway when it snows or volunteering at the soup kitchen around the holidays. He's just an all-around great person.I feel so lucky to have a grandpa like Pops in my life. He's hilarious, brilliant, and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. My friends all think he's the coolest grandpa ever too. I hope when I'm older I can be just like Pops - curious about the world, full of joy and laughter, and making a positive impact on the people around me. Pops will always be my hero!篇2My Awesome Big Sister EmilyMy big sister Emily is the coolest! She's 16 years old and is a junior in high school. Emily is really smart and gets great grades, but she's not a nerd or anything. She's actually really fun and nice to everyone.Emily has long brown hair that goes past her shoulders. She has pretty green eyes and always has a big smile on her face. She's kind of tall for a girl at 5'8". Emily looks a lot like our mom with her curvy figure and olive skin tone. I think she's really pretty.Even though she's a teenager, Emily still likes to hang out with me sometimes. We'll play video games together or she'll help me with my homework if I get stuck. Emily is patient and explains things in a way I can understand. She never makes me feel dumb if I ask a lot of questions. My sister always encourages me to do my best.On the weekends, Emily likes to hang out with her friends. They'll go to the mall, see a movie, or just drive around listening to music. Sometimes Emily's friends come over and they'll order pizza or make snacks in our kitchen. They're all really nice to me and include me in their jokes and conversations. It's cool getting to hang out with the older kids.Emily is super involved at her high school too. She's on the volleyball team and runs track in the spring. Emily is also really good at art and is the president of the art club. She's entered paintings in local competitions and has won a bunch of awards. Our parents have to build shelves to display all her trophies and ribbons! My sister has a great sense of humor and loves to prank people in a silly, harmless way. One time she rearranged all the furniture in the living room while our parents were out. When they got home, they were so confused! Another time she put a rubber snake in my backpack as a joke. I totally freaked out until I realized it was fake. Emily loves making people laugh.Emily is a great role model for me. She works hard in school, pursues her interests, and treats everyone with kindness. She's shown me how important it is to be a good person with integrity. Even though she's my big sister, I look up to Emily and hope I can be as cool as her when I'm a teenager.I'm really lucky to have Emily as my sister. She's helped shape who I am in such a positive way. Emily is genuinely one of the nicest, funniest, most caring people you'll ever meet. I don't know what I would do without her love and support. My big sis is the absolute best!篇3My Awesome Big BrotherMy big brother Jake is the coolest guy ever! He is 16 years old and a sophomore in high school. Jake is really tall, like 6 feet, with shaggy brown hair and blue eyes. He's a total goofball but also super smart.Jake is the funniest person I know. He's always cracking jokes and doing silly impersonations of our parents or teachers. One time, he put a whoopee cushion on Dad's chair at dinner and when Dad sat down, it made the loudest fart noise! We all cracked up laughing so hard. Mom pretended to be mad but I could tell she thought it was hilarious too. Jake has this way of making everything more fun.Even though he jokes around a lot, Jake is really smart too. He gets straight A's in all his classes without even trying that hard. He's the captain of the school Science Bowl team and wants to be an engineer when he grows up. Last summer, he got an internship at this big engineering company downtown. I'm not super into science and math, but I think it's cool how passionate Jake is about that stuff. My favorite thing about Jake is how supportive he is of me. He always comes to my baseball games and concerts and cheers really loudly, even though he thinks baseball is boring. After my games, he gives me a big high five and tells me I played awesome. If I strike out or miss a catch, he doesn't get mad but just tells me to shake it off for next time. Having Jake's support means so much.Jake is also a great role model for me in how he treats people. He's literally friends with everyone at his school - jocks, nerds, theater kids, you name it. He doesn't look down on anyone and is super nice and inclusive to everybody. Jake has taught me how important it is to be kind and accept people for who they are. I want to be just like him when I get to high school.I feel so lucky to have such an awesome big brother in my life. Jake is hilarious, smart, supportive, and an all-around great guy. He's seriously the best brother anyone could ask for. I hope when I'm 16, I can be half as cool as Jake!篇4My Best Friend JennyJenny is my best friend ever since we were in kindergarten together. She's the coolest, funniest, and nicest person I know!Jenny has beautiful long brown hair that she always wears in a ponytail. Her eyes are a pretty green color that sparkle when she smiles. She's a little taller than me but we're about the same height.Jenny is really good at sports, especially soccer. She's the star player on our school's soccer team! At recess, we always choose her as the team captain because she's so athletic and runs super fast. I'm not as good at sports as her, but she never makes me feel bad about it. Jenny is really patient and encourages me to keep practicing. She's an awesome friend like that. One of my favorite things about Jenny is how funny she is. She's always cracking jokes and making our whole friend group laugh so hard we can barely breathe! Once, she did this hilarious impression of our really strict math teacher Mrs. Johnson. Jenny made a super mean frown and said in a grouchy voice "You kids better be doing your long division homework or else!" We all collapsed into a giggling pile on the floor. Jenny is the class clown but never in a mean way. She just has this gift for seeing the funny side of everything.Jenny is also wicked smart. She gets straight A's on almost every test and assignment. I don't know how she does it!Whenever I'm struggling with my homework, Jenny is happy to tutor me after school. She never makes me feel dumb and explains things in a way that's easy to understand. Sometimes we'll study together at her house and her mom will make us fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. Those are the best days!Overall, Jenny is truly one-of-a-kind. She's talented, hilarious, kind, patient, and crazy smart. I'm so lucky to have a best friend like her in my life. I don't know what I'd do without her! Here's to many more years of awesome memories and laughing until our stomachs hurt. Jenny is the best!篇5My Grandpa Is The Best!I want to tell you about my grandpa. He is the best grandpa in the whole wide world! His name is William but I call him Papa Will. Papa Will is 75 years old but he is still very active and healthy.Papa Will has white hair and a kind smile with wrinkles around his eyes from smiling so much over the years. He has bright blue eyes that sparkle when he laughs. Even though he is old, he walks very straight and tall. My grandpa is not very bigbut he is strong from working hard his whole life on the family farm.My favorite thing about Papa Will is that he always has time for me. Whenever I go to visit him, he stops whatever he is doing to give me a huge hug and ask how I'm doing. Then we go outside to do fun activities together. Papa Will taught me how to fish, how to take care of the vegetable garden, and all about the different birds and animals on the farm. He is an amazing teacher and makes learning feel like playtime!I also love listening to Papa Will's stories from when he was young. He grew up on that same family farm during the Great Depression. Times were very hard back then but he always smiles when he talks about those days. He tells hilarious stories about the mischief he and his brothers got into as little kids. Papa Will says he didn't have many toys, so he and his siblings had to use their imagination to create their own fun games and adventures. My grandpa is the wisest person I know. Whenever I have a problem or I'm feeling sad, I go talk to Papa Will. He always knows just what to say to make me feel better. His advice is simple but smart. Papa Will taught me that the key to being happy is to work hard, spend time with your family, appreciatethe little things in life, and eat plenty of apple pie! I'm so lucky to have a grandpa like him. Papa Will is my hero!。
