高中英语 Unit 18 Beauty Section Ⅶ Writing——影评讲义 北师大版选修6
Section ⅦWriting——
第二段:情节概述(main plot of the film)。
包括主要演员及故事梗概。
电影简介不宜太长,只需把自己要评论的内容突出即可。
第三段:观后感受,发表评论(making comments/review in some way)。

Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, and fellow cinephiles,Today, I stand before you to embark on a thrilling journey through the cinematic masterpiece that is Christopher Nolan's "Inception." A film that not only pushes the boundaries of storytelling but also challenges our perception of reality itself. Allow me to take you through the labyrinth of dreams and subconscious that has left an indelible mark on the world of cinema."Inception" is a film that defies categorization. It is a heist movie, a science fiction thriller, and a psychological drama all rolled into one. At its core, it is a story about the human mind and the power of dreams. It explores the idea that the subconscious can be manipulated and exploited, leading us to question the very nature of reality. The film follows Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio), a skilled thief who specializes in the art of "extraction" – stealing secrets from within the subconscious during the dream state. Cobb is haunted by the memories of his late wife, Mal (Marion Cotillard), who has left him alabyrinthine maze of her subconscious to navigate. His only hope of redemption lies in a seemingly impossible task: planting an idea into the mind of a CEO's son, Robert Fischer (Cillian Murphy), in a process known as "inception."The concept of inception is beautifully executed by Nolan, who masterfully weaves together multiple layers of dreams within dreams. Each dream level is more complex than the last, challenging the audience's understanding of time, space, and perception. The visual effects are nothing short of breathtaking, with gravity-defying sequences and mind-bending set-pieces that keep us on the edge of our seats. What sets "Inception" apart from other films is its rich thematic depth. It delves into themes such as guilt, regret, and the human desire for redemption. Cobb's struggle with his past and his quest for forgiveness is both poignant and heart-wrenching. The film also raises intriguing questions about the nature of reality and the power of the subconscious. Can we trust our own perceptions, or are we all just dreaming? The ensemble cast of "Inception" delivers outstanding performances, with DiCaprio leading the way as Cobb. Cotillard's portrayal of Mal is haunting and captivating, as she represents Cobb's inner turmoil and the weight of his past. Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, and Ken Watanabe all deliver memorable performances, bringing depth and nuance to their respective characters.Nolan's direction is nothing short of genius. He expertly balances the film's intricate plot with stunning visuals and a haunting score by Hans Zimmer. The film's pacing is perfect, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the world of dreams while keeping us guessing at every turn."Inception" is a cinematic experience that transcends the ordinary. It challenges us to think, to question, and to explore the depths of our own minds. It is a testament to the power of storytelling and the endless possibilities of the human imagination. In conclusion, "Inception" is a masterpiece that deserves its place in the pantheon of great cinema. Its groundbreaking concept, stunning visuals, and unforgettable performances make it a film that will be remembered for generations to come. So, my fellow cinephiles, let us embrace the dream within and journey through the labyrinth of "Inception."Thank you.。

Steps
2. Identify main themes.
When you have completed the initial viewing, take out a piece of paper and brainstorm the main themes and key characters and concepts of the film. Don‟t be afraid of writing down trivial(琐碎的) points --- these could be more important than you think! Simply scribble down everything that comes to mind without reserve(无保留的)- save the analysis for later. At this stage it is also a good idea to briefly write a synopsis or summary of the film. These notes will provide you with easy access to the basic concepts and themes of the film as you continue to plan your review.
The General Structure?
Conclusion
You could state your early opinions in the synopsis part , but here don‟t give too much away too soon. Your aim is to make the audience want to finish the article. Even though your article should show from the start what your opinions are, at the end of the piece you should give a conclusion that states strongly what you think.
For writing good film reviews you need to do the following:
Formulate a specific opinion in one sentence. Your job as movie reviewer is to give an
opinion of the movie. Ultimately, this may come down to a "thumbs up" or "three stars out of five." But you want to have a specific thesis to drive your critique. For example, "I didn't like this comedy" becomes "The story had funny moments but it went on too long." "This horror movie is good" becomes "This horror movie works because it builds suspense right up until the end." So, try to find that very specific opinion that will be the foundation of your review.

Is the movie based on a book or an historical event? Is it a remake or a sequel? Look into those kind of things. All of this information will help you understand the movie better. You„ll pick up on(熟悉) details, allusions, trademarks of the actor or director, and probably have more insight into important story elements.
