I just had the coolest experience ever as a volunteer and I can't wait to tell you all about it!A few months ago, my teacher Mrs. Johnson told our class that we would be doing a volunteer project to help out at the local animal shelter. I love animals so I was super excited! She said volunteering means giving your time and energy to help others without getting paid. It's all about being kind and making your community a better place. When we got to the animal shelter, a nice lady named Sarah gave us a tour. The shelter takes in dogs, cats, bunnies, and all kinds of other pets that don't have homes. The pets stay there until a new family decides to adopt them. Sarah showed us where the animals sleep, eat, play, and even get bathed! It was like a doggy daycare and kitty kindergarten all in one. After the tour, it was time to get to work! My job was to help take the dogs for walks around the outdoor trail. Walking dogs is actually pretty hard work. Some of them were strong pullers and really excited to go outside. A couple tried to chase some squirrels too! But I held on tight to the leash like Sarah showed me.During our walks, I got to pet the dogs and play a little fetch with them. They seemed so happy to get exercise and attention. Their tails wouldn't stop wagging! I gave them lots of scratches behind the ears too, which they loved. Making the doggies feel loved and cared for made me feel awesome inside. After walk time was over, I got to go help out in the cat room. This was probably my favorite part! As soon as I walked in, the kitties came running over, rubbing against my legs and meowing away. Their fur was so soft and they loved getting petted. A few of them even let me hold them like little fuzzy babies! Holding a kitten is just about the cutest thing ever.Spending quality time with the cats tired some of them out, so they started taking adorable little cat naps right there on the floor. I felt so peaceful just sitting and watching them sleep. When a cat rolled over and exposed its belly, I couldn't resistgiving it a gentle tummy rub. That always made them kick their legs and squirm a little! Cats are so silly.I fed some kittens bottles of warm milk too - just like baby bottles but smaller. They made cute little squeaking noises while drinking their milk. One kitten even fell asleep in my arms after getting a full tummy! My heart melted into a puddle.Part of my job was also to help clean out the small animal cages - you know, like for bunnies, hamsters, guinea pigs and such. I swept out the bedding, gave them fresh food and water, and made sure their living areas were all nice and clean. Those little critters may be small but man can they make a mess! I didn't mind though, keeping them happy and comfy was worth a bit of work.At the end of our volunteer time, Sarah brought out some pet treats that had been donated to the shelter. We each got to give treats to the dogs and cats as a special reward for being so good. You should have seen how excited they got! Wiggling tails, meows galore, licking our hands - it was cuteness overload. Finally, it was time for us to go home. I was really sad to leave all the sweet pets behind. But Sarah told me they get taken care of by the amazing animal shelter staff every single day. Shesaid our volunteering helps a ton and means so much to the animals.I gave out one last round of pets, cuddles, and ear scratches before leaving. As we were walking out, I saw a couple families meeting some of the dogs and cats to possibly take them home. That's the best part about animal shelters - they help lots of loving pets find their "furever" families! On the bus ride back to school, I just sat there smiling, happy as a clam. Volunteering at the animal shelter was easily one of the most fun, heartwarming experiences I've ever had. Mrs. Johnson could tell how much I enjoyed it too. She said she was proud of me for working so hard to care for the animals. After this, I can't wait for our next volunteer project! Maybe we'll get to make care packages for kids in the hospital or help pick up litter at a park. Whatever it is, you can count me in. Volunteering is awesome! It's so incredibly rewarding to spend a day being kind, helpful and making others happy - even if they happen to have four legs and a tail. This experience has inspired me to keep giving back to my community however I can. Who knew doing good could be so much fun?篇2My Amazing Volunteer ExperienceHi, my name is Tommy and I'm 10 years old. I just had the best experience ever - I got to be a volunteer! Let me tell you all about it.A few months ago, my teacher Mrs. Roberts told our class that there was going to be a big neighborhood cleanup event. She said they needed kid volunteers to help pick up litter around the park, playground and streets near our school. I had never volunteered before but it sounded like a lot of fun, so I raised my hand right away to sign up!On the day of the event, I woke up bright and early, put on my favorite Captain America t-shirt and shorts, and had a huge breakfast to get lots of energy. My mom packed me a lunch with a sandwich, apple slices, crackers and a juice box. I was so excited! When we got to the park, there were already a bunch of other kids and adults there with big trash bags. A nice lady named Susan was in charge and she gave us all these really cool bright green vests to wear so cars could see us. She also gave us these awesome trash grabber stick things so we didn't have to bend over and pick everything up. How neat is that? After Susan explained what we needed to do, we split up into small teams all over the neighborhood. Me, my best friend Jake, and his older sister Sophia were on a team together. We decided to start at the playground first since that's where we play the most.I couldn't believe how much trash was everywhere! There were candy wrappers, soda cans, plastic bottles, even a few diapers (so gross!). We quickly filled up our first few bags just from the playground area. As we were cleaning up, a bunch of little kids came over to play and they thought it was really cool that we were helping to keep their playground clean and safe. A few of them even helped us pick up some trash!Next we moved over to the area surrounding the baseball fields. This was pretty messy too with lots of peanut shells, popcorn bags and straw papers all over the ground from people watching the games. We spent over an hour just going back and forth along the dugouts and bleachers making sure we got everything. After the baseball fields, we headed into the neighborhood streets around our school. This was probably the hardest and most gross part. There were lots of fast food wrappers, plastic bags, bottles, and even some furniture and a couple of old tirespeople had just dumped on the side of the road! We couldn't believe how disrespectful some people were to our nice neighborhood. But we weren't going to let that stop us!By this time it was getting pretty hot outside so we took a break and had our lunches under a big shade tree. My sandwich tasted so good after working up an appetite. I felt really proud of all the hard work our team had done so far. After lunch, we tackled some of the worst areas we had seen on the streets. Some of the trash was really yucky like old diapers and dog poop, but we used our grabber sticks to get it all. A few times, the bags got crazy heavy so the adults had to stop and switch them out. I couldn't believe how much trash we were able to collect! When we met back up at the park at the end of the day, there was a huge mountain of trash bags that we had all picked up. It felt amazing to see how much of a difference we made in just one day. Susan thanked all of the volunteers for our hard work with big smiles and high fives. My mom gave me a gigantic hug and told me how proud she was of me.On the ride home, even though I was pretty tired, I felt so good inside. Volunteering was definitely hard work, but it wasalso a ton of fun. I loved being part of a team working towards an important goal. And it felt incredible to see howsthcmwe had cleaned up and made our neighborhood looks so much better. It made me want to do more volunteering from now on!Since that day, I've signed up to be part of my school's environmental club and do things like recycling drives, park cleanups and tree planting events year-round. Whenever I see litter on the ground now, I make sure to pick it up and throw it away instead ofjust walking by it. Taking care of our community and keeping it clean is something I really care about.I'd tell any kid that if you get the chance to volunteer, you absolutely have to do it! It's honestly one of the most fun and rewarding experiences I've ever had. You get to be outside, work together as a team, get a little exercise, and best of all - make a real difference in your neighborhood or community. What could be better than that?Being a volunteer is awesome and I can't wait for my next opportunity! I'm definitely going to keep on volunteering as much as I can. Who's with me?篇3My First Time as a VolunteerHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about the first time I did volunteer work. It was such an awesome experience! It all started a few months ago when my teacher, Mrs. Johnson, told our class that we would be volunteering at a local animal shelter. I loved animals, so I got really excited. Some of the other kids groaned, but I thought it sounded like a lot of fun.A couple weeks later, we took a bus to the shelter. When we got there, a nice lady named Jessica welcomed us. She worked at the shelter and took care of all the dogs and cats there. Jessica told us the shelter took in animals that didn't have homes and helped find families to adopt them.Jessica split us into two groups. My group started with the dog kennels. We had to scoop out the old bedding and put in fresh blankets and newspaper. It was kind of smelly, but I didn't mind. Then we filled up the dogs' water and food bowls. The best part was getting to pet and play with the pups! There was one dog named Buddy that was my favorite. He was a big golden retriever and was so friendly and happy. I gave him ear scratches and tummy rubs. Buddy loved the attentionand kept licking my face to say thanks! By the end, my face was covered in doggy slobber, but I just laughed. After we finished with the dogs, we switched to the cat room. We had to scoop out the litter boxes, which was definitely the smelliest job. I'm glad I wasn't scared to get my hands a little dirty though! While some kids pulled faces, I just tried not to breathe through my nose too much. Then we got to pet and brush the kitties. I loved watching them purr and knead their paws when I scratched behind their ears. A few cats even let me pick them up and snuggle them. Their fur felt so soft!We only had a couple hours at the shelter, but it went by really fast. By the end, my arms were tired from lifting food bags and my clothes were pretty messy. I didn't care though – I had so much fun!On the bus ride back to school, my teacher complimented us on our hard work. She said the people at the shelter really appreciated us volunteering our time. I felt proud that I could help take care of the animals, even if it was just for a little while. When I got home that day, I told my parents all about my volunteer experience. They were impressed by how much I haddone. My mom said she was glad I enjoyed it so much. My dad joked that maybe we should get a puppy since I loved the dogs so much!A few weeks later, the shelter sent some photos to our class of all the animals. I was happy to see Buddy had been adopted by a nice family with a big backyard. I hoped all the other dogs and cats would find loving homes too.Ever since then, I've kept an eye out for more volunteer opportunities. I want to do it again sometime soon. Giving my time to help out made me feel really good inside. Plus, spending a day with cute puppies and kittens wasn't so bad either! If you get a chance to volunteer, I definitely recommend you try it. You're never too young to start giving back. Who knows, you might just find your new favorite hobby – and make some new furry friends too!篇4My Big Volunteer AdventureHi everyone! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I want to tell you all about the super cool time I had volunteering this summer. It was the best!It all started when my mom saw a flyer at our community center about a volunteer program for kids. She asked me if I wanted to sign up and at first I wasn't sure. The idea of spending part of my summer vacation doing work didn't seem that fun. But then my mom explained that volunteering means helping others for free, just because it's a nice thing to do. Well, when she put it that way, it sounded pretty awesome! There were lots of different volunteering activities to choose from. You could help out at an animal shelter, clean up parks and beaches, or visit elderly people among other things. I really wanted to do something involving animals because I LOVE pets so much. My neighbor's dog Bingo is seriously my best friend. So I decided to volunteer at the local animal shelter. On my first day, a nice lady named Jessica showed me around the shelter. I couldn't believe how many dogs and cats they had there! There were rooms and rooms full of crates with puppies and kittens of all shapes, colors and sizes. Some were napping while others were barking and meowing hoping to get attention. I just wanted to hold and cuddle every single one!Jessica said my main job would be cleaning out the crates, making sure the pets had fresh water and food, and playing with them when I could. She also told me how some of the animalsended up at the shelter because their owners couldn't take care of them anymore or because they got lost and no one claimed them. It made me so sad thinking about pets not having a loving family. I decided right then that I would be super nice and loving to all of them to make up for it.The first few days were a little tough not gonna lie. Cleaning up you-know-what from the crates was pretty gross! But I got used to it quickly. Spending time around all those cute animals made even the yucky stuff worth it. Plus, it felt really good to give them exercise, play time and cuddles knowing that's all some of them get. I made sure to give every single one plenty of love and attention. My favorite part was feeing time because I got to make their kibble and give them treats. I'd talk to them in a silly voice while I filled up their bowls which made them go crazy wagging their tails. The kitties would rub against my legs purring to let me know they were hungry too. I just wanted to take them all home with me!In addition to doing our regular shelter duties, Jessica also let me help out when the vets came to give checkups and shots. I'm not gonna lie, watching the pets get shots made me a little queasy. But I knew it was to keep them healthy so I tried to keepthem calm by petting them and giving them treats after. The veterinarians were so nice and showed me what they were doing which was really interesting. I learned a ton about how to take care of animals properly.Another fun experience was when families came in to potentially adopt a pet. I loved seeing people's faces light up when they found their perfect furry match. When a dog or cat went home with their new owners, we'd throw them a little party with doggy treats and toys to celebrate. It made me so happy giving them a great send off to their forever homes. The best day though was when a local firefighter named Marcus came in. He wanted to find a puppy that could be trained as a fire safety dog! He brought the whole crew with him in their big red truck. They lined up all the puppies and did a bunch of different tests to see which one was the bravest and smartest. It was adorable watching them put the pups through their paces. In the end, they picked an energetic little dalmatian mix to be the new fire pup. We had a huge going away party for him with doggy ice cream and everything! Knowing he'd go on to be a hero dog just warmed my heart.Overall, volunteering at the animal shelter was one of the most fun and rewarding things I've ever done. Yeah, there weresome not-so-great parts like all that cleaning. But seeing how happy it made the dogs and cats made any hard work totally worth it. Not only did I get to make a difference in those animals' lives, but I also learned so much about how to properly care for pets. It inspired me to start asking my parents for a puppy of my own!I'm so grateful I spent part of my summer break volunteering instead of just sitting around. It felt amazing to help out in my community, even as a kid. Getting hands-on experience taught me the importance of kindness, hard work and compassion. I made a ton of new four-legged friends and got to use my love of animals for good. I can't wait to volunteer again next year!If you've never volunteered before, I really think you should try it, even if you're young like me. You can do it with your parents or friends to make it extra fun. There are so many great篇5My Super Fun Volunteer ExperienceHi friends! My name is Emily and I'm 10 years old. I just had the best experience ever as a volunteer and I can't wait to tell you all about it!A few weeks ago, my mom told me that a local animal shelter was looking for kid volunteers to help take care of the dogs and cats there. I love animals so much, so I begged my mom to sign me up. She said yes and I was super excited!Last Saturday was my first day volunteering at the shelter. When we got there, a nice lady named Mrs. Jenkins greeted us. She was in charge of the volunteers. She showed us around and told us that our job would be to play with the animals, give them treats, and make sure their cages were clean.First up were the dog kennels. I loved seeing all the cute puppies and big friendly dogs. Mrs. Jenkins gave me some dog treats to feed them. The dogs went crazy over the treats! They were jumping up and licking my hands. I giggled so much. Their tongues were so warm and wet! A few of the bigger dogs even gave me slobbery kisses on my cheeks. Yuck but also kind of fun! After giving the dogs treats, Mrs. Jenkins handed me a leash. She said I could take one of the dogs out to the fenced-in yard to play. I picked the cutest little beagle named Buddy. As soon as I opened his kennel door, he jumped up and started licking my face like crazy. I laughed and laughed. Then I clipped the leash onto his collar and we headed outside. The yard had tons of fun dog toys like balls, frisbees, and rope tugs. I threw Buddy's ball and he ran after it at full speed, his floppy ears bouncing up and down. He brought the ball back and dropped it at my feet. We played endless rounds of fetch until Buddy got tuckered out and started panting hard. I gave him some water and petted his soft fur. He was such a sweetie.Next were the cat cages. The kitties were so fluffy and cute! We gave them canned food treats which they seemed to love. My favorite was an orange tabby named Garfield. He let me pick him up and snuggle him. Garfield purred so loud, it tickled my ear! I gently brushed his sleek fur as he cuddled up in my arms. I could have held him all day.For the rest of my volunteer shift, I cleaned out litter boxes and made sure all the animals had fresh water. I even got to bathe a couple dogs which was messy but a lot of fun. I loved getting soaked from their shaking off the water! By the end of the day, I was worn out but felt so happy. I couldn't wait to go back next weekend.Volunteering at the animal shelter was one of the best experiences I've ever had. All the dogs and cats there need a loving home. I wish I could take them all home with me! But for now, I'll keep volunteering and taking good care of them. I hopelots of other kids will volunteer too. It's hard work but so awesome to spend time with the cute animals. Maybe you could join me next weekend? We'll have a total blast!篇6My Awesome Volunteer ExperienceHi, my name is Emily and I'm 10 years old. I want to tell you all about the really cool volunteer activity I did last weekend. It was so much fun and I feel really proud that I got to help out!It all started a few weeks ago when my teacher, Mrs. Johnson, told our class that there was going to be a big neighborhood cleanup event. She asked if any of us would like to volunteer to help pick up litter around the park and playground near our school. My best friend Sophia immediately raised her hand because she loves the outdoors and keeping it clean. I wasn't sure at first, but then I thought it could be a nice way to get outside, do something good for the community, and spend time with Sophia. So I raised my hand too!Mrs. Johnson gave us permission slips to take home and have our parents sign. My mom was really happy when I told her I wanted to volunteer. She said she was proud of me for wanting to help out. The next day I turned in my signed slip. Altogetherthere were about 20 kids from our class who signed up, plus a bunch of adult volunteers too. Finally, last Saturday was the big day. Bright and early, my dad drove me over to the park. There were already lots of people there - kids, parents, even some high school volunteers. A couple ladies from the community center were passing out green vests for us to wear so we could be seen easily. They also gave us these really cool litter grabber tools to pick up trash with so we didn't have to bend over and touch it with our hands. Finally, each volunteer group was given a big trash bag to collect everything in.My group had me, Sophia, two other kids from our class, and one mom. The ladies from the community center told us to focus on the area around the playground equipment first. As soon as we started looking around, I was shocked by how much trash and litter was there! There were candy wrappers, plastic bottles, broken toys, and even an old dirty diaper (yuck!). We spread out and got to work.Using the grabber tool was actually kind of fun. It was like a game to see who could pick up the most litter. Sophia and I were being little slugs crawling around, reaching into every nook and cranny to pull out anything that didn't belong. The trash bagstarted getting heavier and heavier. A couple times it ripped and we had to shake everything into a new bag. After we finished the playground area, our group moved over to a section of the park that had a walking trail through the trees. This part was even messier than the playground! I couldn't believe how many bottles, cans, and food wrappers were just thrown on the ground. We had to be really careful not to step on broken glass or needles. I used my grabber to pick up a gross old sock (I'll never understand why people just leave their old socks lying around!). One kid in our group found a whole bag of litter that looked like it had been there for years - it was moldy and smelled terrible! We worked really hard for a couple hours picking up literally hundreds of pieces of trash. I've never sweat that much in my life! But I didn't even care because I was having so much fun hanging out with Sophia and knowing we were making a difference. When our bags were completely stuffed full, we dragged them back to the community center ladies who took them away. After we turned in our grabbers and vests, all the volunteers got to enjoy free pizza and lemonade at the park pavilion. It was delicious and totally hit the spot after working up such an appetite. While we were eating, the community center ladiesannounced which group had collected the most trash bags. It wasn't our group, but we still got a round of applause for our hard work. I've never felt so proud of myself! Sophia and I traded high fives. As I was leaving the park that day, I looked around at how clean and beautiful it looked. All the litter and trash was gone. The playground was nice and safe for kids to play on again. The walking trails were clear and you could see all the greenery and trees without any ugly litter spoiling it. It felt so good knowing that Sophia and I, along with all the other great volunteers, had made such a big positive impact on our park just by spending a few hours picking up litter.I'll never forget what an amazing experience it was to volunteer that day. It made me realize how easy it is to make the world a little bit better if we all pitch in. From now on, I'm going to keep encouraging my friends and family to look for volunteer opportunities in our community. You're never too young to start giving back! Seeing a area so dirty inspired me to also cut down on waste by reusing and recycling as much as I can. Thanks for reading about my awesome day, and I hope you'll consider signing up to volunteer soon too. It's hard work but SO worth it!。

志愿者活动英语作文,原文加译文英文回答:Volunteering has always been a big part of my life. I believe that giving back to the community is important and fulfilling. There are many reasons why I enjoy volunteering, but one of the main reasons is the sense of satisfaction I get from helping others. One of my favorite volunteering experiences was when I helped out at a local soup kitchen. I spent a few hourseach week serving meals to those in need. It was such a rewarding experience to see the smiles on people's faces when they received a hot meal. I remember one elderly woman who came in every week and always thanked me for my help.It warmed my heart to know that I was making a differencein someone's life.Another great thing about volunteering is the sense of camaraderie you feel with other volunteers. I have met somany amazing people through volunteering, and it's great to work together towards a common goal. We often joke around and have a good time while still getting the job done. It's like having a second family that you can rely on and havefun with.In addition to the personal satisfaction and social aspect of volunteering, it also provides valuable skillsand experiences. For example, through volunteering, I have learned how to work well in a team, communicate effectively, and problem-solve in difficult situations. These are all skills that are transferable to other areas of my life, such as school and work.Overall, volunteering has had a positive impact on my life, and I plan to continue giving back to the communityfor as long as I can.中文回答:志愿活动一直是我生活中的重要组成部分。

志愿者英语作文精彩9篇志愿者的英语作文篇一Every day, we can see the figures of the volunteers. Actually, they have formed a kind of scenery of the city. Some people hold that volunteering is merely a waste of time, because the volunteers have no gains with pains. However, I believe that doing voluntary is quite rewarding. In the first place, we can put into practice what we have learnt before, for instance, when we were asked by a foreigner about the way to some place, we could practice our oral foreign language, it’s definitely a good opportunity to express ourselves in a foreign language correctly and clearly. In the second place, we could make a lot of new friends while we are volunteering As a proverb says, “At home one relies on one’s parents and outside on one’s friends”, so it is never a bad thing to have lots of friends. Finally, helping others is a good way to make you feel happy and when you help others solve a problem successful, you will feel fulfillment. In this sense, we reap a bountiful spiritual harvest by doing voluntary work.On the whole, we can benefit a lot by engaging ourselves in the voluntary work. Therefore, I suggest those that have abundant spare time registering as volunteers for the welfare for the public.每一天,我们都能看到许多的志愿者,事实上,他们已经成为城市的一道风景线了。

关于学校志愿者活动的英语作文80词全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Being a volunteer helper at my school is so much fun! I get to assist teachers with tasks and help younger kids. My favorite is reading buddies where I listen to first graders practice reading stories. I also like monitor duty where I hold the door open and greet everyone with a smile. Volunteering makes me feel proud to contribute. It's a great way to give back to my school community. I can't wait for more volunteer opportunities next year!篇2My School's Amazing Volunteer ActivitiesHi there! My name is Emma and I'm a 4th grader at Sunnyville Elementary School. Our school has the coolest volunteer activities that let us kids help out our community while having tons of fun. I can't wait to tell you all about them! One of my favorite things we do is tend to the school garden. We have this huge garden right on the playground with rowsand rows of veggies, fruits, herbs and beautiful flowers. A few times a month, we put on our little gardening gloves and get to work pulling weeds, watering the plants, and picking the ripe vegetables and fruits. It's awesome getting dirt under our nails and learning how food grows. The best part is that we donate a lot of the harvest to a local food bank, so families in need get fresh, healthy foods. Isn't that great?Another really cool volunteer activity is visiting the animal shelter down the street. They are always in need of helpers to clean the kennels, feed the dogs and cats, and most importantly, play with them and show them love! We make the most adorable dog toys out of old t-shirts and tennis balls. Then we get to throw them around and play fetch with the pups. They go crazy with excitement when we come, wagging their tails like crazy. I just want to take them all home with me! But I know they're waiting to find their forever families. Hopefully making them feel loved helps them get adopted faster.Speaking of animals, we also run a school supply and pet supply drive every year. We make posters and flyers encouraging our families to donate new notebooks, pencils, markers, backpacks, and other school items. We also ask for pet food, toys, beds, you name it! Then we pack everything up and someparents drive it all over to a local shelter and school in alow-income neighborhood. Last year we collected over 500 pounds of donations! The kids who received those supplies were so grateful. Those are just a few examples of our volunteer work, but we do lots of other cool activities too. Sometimes we'll make holiday cards and desserts for retirement home residents who don't have much family nearby. Other times we'll pick up litter around parks and playgrounds to keep our community clean and green. We even help out our own school by tutoring younger kids in reading, manning the Lost and Found, or organizing food drives.I feel really lucky that my school encourages us to volunteer from such a young age. It teaches us the importance of helping others, taking care of our environment, and using our time and energy for good causes. We learn that one person really can make a difference, no matter how small. And bonus - it's crazy fun! We get to go on field trips, get a little messy, and make friends with kids from other classes that we may not normally hang out with.I hope reading this has convinced you that my school's volunteer activities are awesome. If your school doesn't offer opportunities like this yet, maybe you could pitch some ideas toyour principal! Trust me, volunteering is an incredible way to explore your community, lend a hand to humans and animals in need, and have unforgettable experiences with your friends. What could be better than that? Let's all get out there and volunteer!篇3My School's Fun Volunteer ActivitiesHi there! My name is Timmy and I'm in the 5th grade at Oakwood Elementary School. Our school has the coolest volunteer activities that I want to tell you all about! We get to help out with all sorts of fun projects and events. One of my favorite things is being a Reading Buddy. A few times a week, some 4th and 5th graders like me get to go read books to the younger kids in kindergarten and 1st grade. It's really nice because the little ones love having us older kids read to them. We use silly voices and make it really animated so they stay engaged. The teachers say it helps build their early literacy skills too. I feel so proud when I see their smiling faces as I turn the pages. We also have this awesome Green Team at our school focused on environmental projects. A group of studentvolunteers tends to our school's community garden every week. We plant fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers. It's hard work hauling soil and weeding, but so worthwhile! We even have some sunflowers taller than me. Our harvest goes to the cafeteria to supplement their meals. And we sell some of the extras at a little farm stand to raise money for future plantings. It teaches us so much about sustainable gardening. I love getting my hands dirty while doing something good for the planet.Another cool thing is the Tech Buddies program where kids who are great with computers help out teachers and younger students. We learn skills like troubleshooting, data entry, coding and web design. Then we assist in classrooms, libraries and computer labs. The older Tech Buddies even build and repair school devices! It's awesome getting hands-on experience with technology from a young age. I'm definitely interested in pursuing a career in the tech field when I'm older.During the holidays, our whole school participates in an annual canned food drive to support the local food bank and shelters. Students form teams and go door-to-door collecting non-perishables from neighbors. There's a huge trophy that the winning team gets to display in their classroom for the year. We get so competitive with it! My team has won the past two yearsby collecting over 2,500 pounds of food each time. Helping to feed people in need is such an amazing feeling. The food bank director says our school's food drive provides meals for hundreds of families. Those are just some examples of the fun volunteer work we get to do! There's always a new project or event on the horizon. My personal favorite time of year is in late spring when we host a carnival to raise money for new playground equipment. Students run all the game booths, food stands, ticket sales -- you name it! It's a ton of work but so rewarding. We made nearly 10,000 at last year's carnival which paid for new monkey bars, swings and a climbing wall. Nothing beats that sense of accomplishment!I feel really lucky that my school provides so many great opportunities to give back while learning valuable skills. Volunteering teaches us the importance of community service and activism from a young age. It's not just a chore, but something fun and engaging! I'm constantly in awe of how much impact we can make, even as elementary students. It inspires me to continue volunteering as I move onto middle school, high school and beyond. Who knows, maybe I'll start my ownnon-profit organization someday! For now though, I'm justproud to be part of Oakwood Elementary's awesome volunteer crew.篇4I love helping out at school! Every week, I join the recycling club and collect bottles and cans. On Earth Day, we clean up trash around the neighborhood park. My favorite is reading buddies where older kids like me get to read books to the little kindergarteners. Volunteering makes me feel good inside. It's fun to help others and make my school and community better. I can't wait to do more volunteer activities next year too!And here is a 2000 word essay on the same topic, also written from a child's perspective:Volunteering at My Elementary SchoolHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm a fifth grader at Oakwood Elementary School. Today I want to tell you all about the really cool volunteer activities we get to do as students at my school. Get ready, because there's a ton of awesome stuff to cover!Where do I even begin? I guess I'll start with my absolute favorite - the reading buddies program. This is where kids in theolder grades like me get paired up with a kindergartner or first grader. Once a week during our reading time, we get to go read books and do fun literacy activities with our little buddies. It's just the best!I love everything about being a reading buddy. Getting to be the "big kid" and have one of the little ones look up to me makes me feel so proud and responsible. And it's amazing to see how quickly the younger students pick up reading skills when they have supportive older role models encouraging them. Honestly, which little kid wouldn't love having a big fifth grade mentor to spend time with and get special attention from? We quickly become their friends and they always get so excited for our reading sessions together. From my end, it's awesome practicing my own reading fluency by reading aloud to my buddy. And coming up with cool extension activities related to the books really gets my creative juices flowing. I remember one time, after reading "The Little Red Hen" we made paper bag puppets of the characters and put on a mini puppet show. My buddy thought that was just about the coolest thing ever. Seeing the pure joy and excitement on their little faces when we do special activities like that is just priceless. It makes me so happy to know I'm enriching their learning experience and getting them fired up about reading!Being a reading buddy has honestly been one of the most gratifying experiences of my elementary school years so far. It's given me a sense of purpose and responsibility, not to mention some super adorable new friends! I really look up to the older kids who make an impact like that. In fact, I can't wait until I'm in middle school so I can volunteer to be a high school reading buddy. Full circle!Another awesome volunteer program at my school is the recycling club. Now, you might think, isn't recycling just about sorting bottles and cans? Well, sure, that's part of it - but we do so much more for the environment too!In recycling club, we learn all about the importance of sustainability and take a ton of actions to reduce waste and energy usage at our school. For example, we have developed entire units on composting, renewable energy sources like solar power, upcycling materials into cool crafts and art projects, and so on. We've created recycling contests between classroom to see who can recycle the most and have fun competitions like trash-free lunch days to encourage low-waste practices. My personal favorite is our school grounds clean-up days where we get to go outside and pick up all the litter around campus. We all get ziplock baggies and those grabber stick tools and go to town! It's crazy how much trash accumulates that people have just carelessly tossed on the ground. After a couple hours of work, you can really see and feel the impact of howwe've spruced up the school. It feels so good to take pride in caring for the outdoor spaces of the place I spend so much of my time. Those grounds clean-up days always remind me of another big volunteer event we do each year - helping out at the local parks and greenspaces around town for Earth Day. We get to go with our recycling club crew and work alongside community volunteers to do all kinds of cool conservation projects. Stuff like planting new trees and bushes, clearing hiking trails, cleaning out ponds and streams, making bird houses and bee baths, you name it! We learn so much about the local ecosystems and why it's so important to preserve natural habitats for all the critters who call those outdoor spaces their homes.I'll never forget this one Earth Day a few years back when we made seed balls out of clay, compost and wildflower seeds. Once they had dried, we got to throw them across meadows andvacant urban lots to help reseed those areas with native plants. It was like getting license篇5I love volunteering at my school! Every week, I help clean up the playground and pick up any litter. It makes me feel proud knowing I'm helping keep our school clean and beautiful. Sometimes I also read books to the younger kids which is really fun. Volunteering teaches me responsibility and how to be a caring community member. My favorite part is seeing the smiles on people's faces when I lend a hand. I can't wait for more volunteer opportunities!篇6Volunteering at My SchoolHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I go to Oakwood Elementary School and I just love it there. Our school is really cool because we have lots of fun volunteer activities that kids can participate in. Let me tell you all about them! One of my favorite things is the School Garden Club. A bunch of us get together once a week after school to take care of the vegetable garden behind the cafeteria. We pull weeds, waterthe plants, and even get to harvest some of the veggies when they're ready. Last year, I grew the biggest tomato ever! The cafeteria ladies use the vegetables we grow to make healthy meals for us. It's so awesome to eat food that you helped grow yourself.Another great club is the Recycling Rangers. We go around the school every Friday collecting bottles, cans, paper, and cardboard from the classrooms to be recycled. We have special blue bins that everyone uses. It's important to recycle so we can take care of our planet. My friend Jacob is the best recycling ranger - he never misses a can or bottle! At the end of the year, the class that recycles the most gets a pizza party. My class won last year and it was the best day ever. But my very favorite activity is being a Reading Buddy. Once a week, a few of us older kids get paired up with one of the kindergarten or first grade students. We spend an hour reading books together and working on their reading skills. The little kids just light up with excitement to have a "big kid" reading partner. I remember when I was that age, I thought the reading buddies were sooo cool. It makes me feel really good to help out the younger students. My reading buddy this year is named Lily andshe's absolutely adorable. Her favorite books are the Puppy Pals series. There are also lots of other volunteer activities at my school like the Safety Patrol team who helps kids cross the street safely, the Office Helpers who answer phones and do tasks for the front office staff, and the Classroom Assistants who help teachers setup for activities. No matter what, there's something for everyone to get involved with.Volunteering teaches us super important lessons about being a good citizen, helping others, and taking care of our community and environment. I'm really glad my school provides so many opportunities for kids to volunteer from an early age. Not only is it fun, but it makes me feel happy and proud to give back. I can't wait to see what new volunteer activities they'll have for us next year!So those are some of the awesome volunteer programs at my elementary school. If your school has anything similar, I highly recommend getting involved. Or if not, maybe you can start your own club! Either way, volunteering is an amazing way for kids to make a positive difference. We're never too young to start giving back and changing the world!。

An increasing number of cases are being reported every day. It’s thought that H1N1 flu spreads in the same way that regular seasonal influenza viruses do, that is, spreading from person-to-person, mainly through the coughs and sneezes of people who are sick with the virus. Faced with this severe disease, here are some everyday measures we should take to stay healthy. First, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way. If you get sick, stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them. Finally, H1N1 flu is not a terribly deadly disease, which is curable. So, don’t be nervous and just keep calm as usual. 正如我们所知,不断爆发的H1N1流感已经在许多国家引发了。
