I am talking about breaking through the confines of reality to achieve our dreams.We all have dreams. Be it big or small, we all have something that we aspire towards, something that fills us with a sense of purpose and direction. For some of us, it might be becoming a doctor or a lawyer, for others, it might be starting our own business or traveling the world.However, the harsh reality of life often gets in the way of our dreams. We might face financial constraints, familial pressure, societal norms, or any number of obstacles that make it seem impossible to reach our goals. And in such moments, it can be easy to feel defeated, to give up on our dreams and resign ourselves to a life of mediocrity and unfulfillment.But true success, the kind that is worth striving for, comes not from giving up but from breaking through. Breaking through the mental and emotional barriers that hold us back, breaking through societal norms and constructs, and breaking through the physical limitations of our circumstances.I grew up in a small town in the countryside of China, where opportunities were few and far between. My dream was always to become fluent in English and study abroad in one of the world-renowned universities. But coming from a non-privileged background and an underdeveloped region made this dream seem like a mere fantasy.Yet, I refused to let my background define me or my future. I broke through the societal norms that dictated what I should and should not do. I worked hard to earn top grades in school and took every opportunity to improve my English skills, even when it meant sacrificing personal time and leisure activities. Eventually, I was awarded a scholarship to study abroad.But even this was not enough. I faced countless challenges and obstacles along the way, from homesickness toacademic pressure. But I refused to give up. I continuously worked to improve myself and my skills, to build connections and networks that would help me succeed, and to push myself beyond my limits.Today, I stand before you as a proud alumna of a top university, with a successful career in a global organization. My journey has not been easy, but it has been worth it, because it has taught me that the only limits we face are the ones we set for ourselves.So I urge you today, to break through your own limits, to dare to dream big and work towards your goals with determination and persistence. To refuse to let your circumstances define your future and to instead create your own path towards success. Because only by breaking throughcan we truly achieve our dreams and become the best versionof ourselves.Thank you.。

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen; when I was in the primary school, I had a dream，I want to invent a device which could bring you from one place to another in no time at all. When I was in the secondary school, my dream was to study in my ideal university. And when eventually I got into the university, my dream was to graduate. How pathetic! When we grow up, we dream less and become more realistic. Why? Why do we have to change our dreams, so, so in order to let it be “fulfilled”? Why do we have to surrender to the so-called “reality”? What is the reality actually?
Ladies and gentlemen, the reality is not real. It is barrier keeping us from all possible fantasies. Flying, for example, had been a dream to mankind for thousands of years. A hundred years ago, “man could not fly” was still regarded as the “reality”. Now if that was really the reality, what did the Wright brothers do? How did some of you get to Macao? Only when we believe that the reality is not real can we soar with our dreams. People say that our future is a battle between the reality and our dreams. And if, unfortunately, Mr.Reality wins this war, then I see no future of mankind at all. AIDS will never be curable as this
is the reality; People living in the undeveloped countries will suffer from starvation forever as this is the reality; Disputes among different countries would never be settled as this misunderstandings and intolerance is the reality.
Ladies and gentlemen, how many of you have a dream of being able to make a lot of money? Please raise your hands. Oh, quite a number of you! Actually, ladies and gentlemen, this is not a dream, but a task. Every one of us has to make a living, right? Anyway I hope your task will be accomplished. How many of you think hat you have already fulfilled your dream and that you don’t dream anymore? Dear adjudicators, what do you thi nk?
C.S.Lewis once said, “You are never too old to dream a new dream. “So for our future, please dream and be unrealistic. Now that I am university student, my goal is to graduate with excellences. But at the same time, I have dream deeply rooted in our future. One day, people living in the areas now sweltering with the horror of wars will be able to sit with their families and enjoy their every moment. One day, from the rich countries are willing to share what they have with those from the poor countries and those from the countries will eventually be able to make their own happy living themselves. One day , different cultures in this age of globalization will coexist with tolerance
and the unfriendly confrontations among them will be eliminated. One day, the globe will share the dream with me and we will all contribute to making our dream come true. One day, our dream will defeat the reality!。
