Atlow air flow rates, the majority of the air flows throughventuri section (A). The rest of the air slightly deflects andflows by the restrictor disc (I). The velocity of the airflowing through venturi section (A) creates a pressuredrop at throat section. This lower pressure allows oil to beforced from the reservoir through the pickup tube (B) pastthe check ball (C). The rate of oil delivery is then con-trolled by metering screw (D). Rotation of the meteringscrew (D) in the counterclockwise direction increases theflow rate; in the clockwise direction decreases the flowrate. Oil then flows through the clearance between innerand outer sight domes (F) where the drops are formedand drip into the nozzle tube (K). It is then broken intofine particles as it expands in the low pressure venturi. From there the atomized oil flows through the curvedscoop (J) and is deflected against the interior wall of thereservoir. This action causes the larger particles of oil tofall back into the reservoir where they can recirculatethrough the system. The remaining mist of fine particles(2 micron or smaller - about 3% which passed through thesight dome) is then carried through opening (G) where itjoins and mixes with air that bypassed the restrictor disc(I). As air flow increases, the restrictor disc (I) deflects, allowing most of the inlet air to bypass the venturi section(A). However, a proportion of the inlet air passes throughthe venturi, assuring that oil delivery increases linearlywith increased air flow rate. This proportioning method isadvantageous at low inlet flows because the venturidesign remains efficient. The check ball (C) prevents reverse oil flow down thepickup tube when air flow stops. Thus, oil delivery canresume immediately when air flow restarts. Micro-mistlubricators can be filled only when the air supply isshut off.Operating Temperature Range:Polycarbonate Bowl: -20o F (-29o C) to 125o F (+52o C)Metal Bowl: -20o F (-29o C) to 175o C (+79o C)Port Thread: 1/4 InchSeals: NitrileSight Dome: Transparent PolycarbonateSuggested Lubricant: Schrader Bellows F442 OilPetroleum based oil of 100 to 200 SSU viscosity at 100o F and ananiline point greater then 200o F.(DO NOT USE OILS WITH ADDITIVES, COMPOUNDED OILSCONTAINING SOL VENTS, GRAPHITE, DETERGENTS, ORSYNTHETIC OILS.)Venturi & Check Valve Assembly: PlasticKFABIGJBCDAir Preparation UnitsOrdering InformationPerformance CharacteristicsDimensions:Polycarbonate bowls, being transparent and tough, are ideal for use with Filters and Lubricators.
