什么叫做“哑巴英语”?哑巴英语是特指学习了几年以上的英语,有一定的阅读能力,但听说能力很差或根本不会的情况。中学阶段的学生常可以看到这样的现象:学生笔试成绩很好,却很少有会用英语交流的;偶尔用英语交谈,在谈话过程中,他们头脑中可能有自己的一套表达思路,可是一旦要口头表达,就抓耳挠腮,表达断断续续,说不出来。那么“哑巴英语”的原因是什么呢

首先,我认为主要是中国的应试教育造成的。为了提高素质教育,我们进行了相应的教育改革,如重新编定了新教材等。在目前教学考试制度的引导下,教师不能把更多的时问和精力花在口语教学上,学生对口语也不重视,这不利于提高学生的综合语言能力,必然导致了“哑巴英语”现象的存在。

其次,是英语表达能力和表达欲望的缺乏,“恐讲心理”的影响。多数人口语不好通常是因为学了不用或用的太少,他们只把英语作为知识来学,而不是将英语当作一种语言工具来用。怕出错,怕出了错受老师责备,被同学耻笑。这种恐惧心理常导致学生在口语表达时显得焦虑和紧张,影响他们正常的思维和顺利的表达。造成这种心理的原因就是学生平时缺乏足够的口语练习机会,刚开始学说英语时没有得到及时的肯定鼓励,因此,在开口时没有一种自信感,同时又过多考虑所说的词句是否符合语法规则。这种“恐讲”心理阻碍了口语训练的顺利进行。
