2014年上海高考作文及样例

学校英语报正在酝酿改版，拟从现有的三个栏目（健康、娱乐、文化）中去除一个，并从三个备选栏目（时尚、职业规划、读者反馈）中挑选一个纳入该报。假设你是该校学生程飞，给校报编辑写一封电子邮件，表达你的观点。邮件须包括以下内容：

1. 你建议去除的栏目及去除的理由；

2. 你建议增加的栏目及增加的理由。

I’m writing to express some of my opinions towards our school’s English newspaper.

In my point of view, among health, entertainment and culture, I would choose “entertainment” to be the one to be eliminated. Although it’s necessary for students to get some relaxation, I’m worried that the main news the entertainment column offers will eventually turn into celebrity gossip, which is neither helpful to the growth of students nor to the development of our school. We are already living in a world that is crammed with useless information, and there’s no need to add some more. The main focus of the newspaper is supposed to be placed on the students --- not Brad Pitt’s new movie.

As for the column to be added, I highly recommend the “career planning”. I know that right now a large number of students still have absolutely no idea about what they truly want to become in the future, so it’s quite urgent and necessary to give students basic understanding of what different kinds of jobs are like and what kind of qualities are required for different jobs. This may help students gain a better understanding of their strengths and weakness and this figure out their goals. To me, it’s much more meaningful than “fashion” or “readers’ feedback”.

I am a Grade 3 student in your school and my name is Cheng Fei. I used to be an editor of the school English newspaper, so I want to express my opinion.

At my point of view, the topic of entertainment should be removed. Not only is this topic far from our study life, but also it may distract our attention from learning. Instead, I suggest that some interesting stories can be put to the topic of culture, which serve quite the equal function of the topic of entertainment.

In addition, the topic I think should be added is the readers’ feedback. It’s important for the editor to know the reaction of the readers to the newspaper. In this way, the newspaper can carry popular among students.

I hope that the English paper can achiever success and I’m looking forward to hear from you as soon as possible.

I’m Wang Ming, an ordinary citizen. It is said that your museum is to hold an exhibition of famous paintings and you are collecting public views on the exhibition site. Between the museum and the community library. I would like to choose the latter. First, compared with the museum, the community library is much more convenient. Residents nearby can walk there rather than spend an hour on the way by bus or underground. Furthermore, instead of serious circumstances in the museum, the community can create a more casual atmosphere. Visitors will relax and absorb themselves more easily in the paintings.

All in all, although the exhibition in on famous paintings, it will be less meaningful unless it is closer to ordinary people. So in my opinion, the community library is the better choice.

I’ve read about your poster about selecting the location of an exhibition of famous paintings, and I suggested that the museum is a nice place.

First of all, compared with those libraries, the museum is an excellent place which inspires our eagerness for knowledge. It’s certain that visitors will be more absorbed in the fantastic surroundings. By contrast, I don’t think those normal libraries in communities match well with paintings with great fame and high prices.

While some of my friends insist that libraries are more convenient. I maintain that since the transportation system in Shanghai is very advanced the museum in located in the city centre, it’s not a bit difficult for us to reach the show.

All in all, I am firmly convinced that the museum is a better place for this grand painting exhibition, and it will be a great honor if I could study those wonderful paintings in the best museum in Shanghai. I hope that you’ll accept my suggestion.
