We're going to spend a couple nights camping and exploring some of the national parks there like Arches and Zion. I'm a little nervous about camping because I've never really done it before, but Mom and Dad say it will be fun. As long as we don't have to dig holes to use as bathrooms, I'll be okay!Next up is Nevada, and you know what that means – Vegas baby! Just kidding, Mom and Dad won't actually let me go gamble or anything. But we are going to stay in Las Vegas for a few nights, mostly just to experience how crazy and bright and larger-than-life everything is. I've seen pictures of the huge hotels and fancy shows, and it looks like nothing else in the world. We might go see a magic show or one of those hilarious comedy shows while we're there. I just hope it's not too hot!Once we've had our fill of the craziness, we'll drive over to California. I'm probably most excited about this part because we're going to spend over a week right near the beach in Santa Monica. Can you imagine waking up every morning and watching the sun rise over the Pacific Ocean? I can't wait to spend my days building sandcastles, boogie boarding, and having picnics on the beach. And the best part is, my older cousin Emma who's in high school is going to come stay with usfor a few days too. She's so cool and we always have a blast together.Once our time is up in California, we'll start the long journey headed back home to Maryland. I'm definitely going to be sad for our trip to end, but we have one more fun stop planned along the way. We're going to swing through Las Vegas one more time on our way back so we can visit the Hoover Dam! I learned about it in school last year and thought it seemed so cool how they actually built a huge dam to hold back that massive river.
