About the author
Gabriel Garcí a Márquez , born on March 6, 1927, is a Colombian novelist, short-story writer, screenwriter and journalist. Considered one of the most significant authors of the 20th century, he was awarded the 1972 Neustadt International Prize for Literature(拉丁美洲文学最高奖— — 加列戈斯文学奖）and the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Everyone in the book is a lonely individual, but also a complete history of family. Even though the loneliness throughout their lifetime, it is not the same lonely cause. For example, my favorite character in the book is Ursula whose loneliness is rational. With struggling, pushing and watching until die of old age, she still make the effort to the family alone. Nobody to thank her, no one to support her, no one to inherit her, no one pay attention to her, her efforts is unprecedented while her loneliness is also a boon to the family, the only rational alone.
One Hundred Years of Solitude is a story of seven generations of the Buendia Family in a hundred years in the town named Macondo. The founding patriarch of Macondo, José Arcadio Buendíand Ursula, his wife (and first cousin), leave Riohacha, Colombia, to find a better life and a new home. One night of their emigration journey, whilst camping on a riverbank, JoséArcadio Buendí dreams a of “Macondo”, a city of mirrors that reflected the world in and about it. When they find the city, the curtain rises . This novel depicts the rise and fall of this family.
