1. Concept表示过去发生或已经完成的某一动作对现在造成的影响或结果,或从过去开始一直延续到现在的动作或保存的状态,或开始于过去持续到现在(也许还会继续进行下去)的动作或状态。

常和for, since引导的表示一段时间的时间状语连用,如“for+时间段”、“since+过去时间点”、“since+过去时的从句”、“since+一段时间+ago”,且for与since引导的时间状语可以相互转换。

谓语动词多用延续性动词。

(2)Similarities between for and sincea. or与since都能与现在完成时连用b. 二者可转换:for+一段时间=since+一段时间+agoHe has been here for five years.=He has been here since five years ago.他到这儿已经有五年了。

c. 均须与延续性动词连用,也可以与非延续性动词的否定式连用I haven't bought anything for two months.=I haven't bought anything since two months ago.我已经2个月没买东西了。

d. 二者引出的时间状语往往用how long提问—How long have you had this book?—For two weeks./Since two weeks ago.——这本书你买多久了?——买两周了。

(3)Differences between for and sincea. for+时间段for其后只能接表示“一段时间”的名词性短语,可用于多种时态,表示动作或状态持续时间段长短。

He usually sleeps for ten hours every day.他通常每天睡10个小时。

I have lived in this city for five years.我在这座城市居住了5年了。

b. since+时间点接表“时间点”的短语或从句(过去时);接“一段时间+ago”,用于完成时态;用于句型“It is+时间段+since+一般过去时”,表过去某个时间发生并持续到说话时的动作或状态。

She has worked here for five years.=She has worked here since five years ago.她在这工作5年了。

It is two years since I came to China.c. since能引导时间状语从句(主句现在完成时,从句一般过去时),而for则不能。
