• This movie tells us a story about girl named Liz Murray whose parents are addicted to drugs, and her mom has schizophrenia, blind, and later died of AIDS. She lives in shelter, sleeps in the subway, and never has a decent home. Sometimes, she also plays adult role to take care of her parents and sister. She also tears sitting in front of the sickbed mother. People around her are unhappy. She lived in a world without hope and dream .

• Relatives and friends all around her tell her that it is not possible to get into the university. But she gets the top of the class, and gets the chance to visit the Harvard. When she walks in the campus, She swears I must be a member of Harvard. In order to get into Harvard, she must apply for a scholarship. She discovers that the New York Times may offer sum scholarship to afford the expensive tuition. On the day of interview, she doesn’t even have one decent clothes, so she wears rags borrowed from her friend. At last, she gets the bonus. On the addressing day, she says her life would be changed. Liz Murray is one of the most poor and most courageous Harvard girl.
