目的：
中美在各方面都存在着很大的差异。
除了政治、经济、军事、教育以外，家庭教育同样也存在很大的差异，两国的差异是从两国的人民决定的；人的差异是根据各种环境和教育决定的；最基本的就是人刚出生的家庭环境和家庭教育。
通过对中美家庭教育模式的差别进行研究,再根据儿童思维发展的过程以及环境对儿童思维的影响进行论述.目的是将中美家庭教育模式对儿童思维发展有益或有害列举出来,取长补短,让每个儿童都会在一个好的家庭教育环境下健康的成长。
意义：
人类的思维是高级的认识活动,是智力的核心.思维是脑对客观事物的概括的、间接的反映。
思维的产生、发展对儿童心理发展的意义意味着儿童的认识过程完全形成，引起了其他认识活动的质变。
思维的影响还渗透到情感、社会性及个性的各个方面。
所以家庭教育对儿童的思维发展是有非常重要的影响，儿童的性格也随家庭的教育逐渐形成。
父母说话、做事的方式都在影响着孩子的思维。
从而影响着孩子对事物的判断。
更因为中美文化的差异导致家庭教育的方式的不同。
从而对儿童思维发展的影响也是不同的。
没有绝对的好坏之分。
但能再对比中要到更好教育方式来正确的影响儿童的思维发展。
国内外同类课题研究现状及发展趋势：
国内：
我国的家庭教育，源远流长，成效卓著，为世界所公认。
这特点的形成，可以远溯至尧舜时代，他是我国原始氏族社会的遗风。
当今社会对家庭教育也是越来越重视，关于如何让家长教育孩子方面的书籍也是层出不穷的。
国家也对家庭教育非常重视，中国家庭教育学会也做出了《关于申报全国家庭教育“十一五”研究课题的通知》。
国外：
美国有它独特的地“家庭学校教育”（Home schooling)在美国又被称为“在家教育”或“在家上学”,是一种不同于学校教育的教育形态。
这也就说明国外对家庭教育的重视和认可的。
美籍华人科学家杨振宁教授认为：这种家庭教育是美国教育的一个突出的特点，从知识的学习角度来看，它不在于给学生什么明确的、系统的知识，而主要是通过这个过程，让学生通过自己一点一滴的体会进行学习。
在这个过程中，虽然学生不能形成一个坚实的知识基础，但它有利于形成学生的独立思考和创造能力。
发展趋势：
现在国内外对家庭教育是越来越重视。
更多人开始进行胎教、买跟多的书学习怎么教育孩子，因为家庭教育不仅对儿童的性格的形成有重要的作用，更重要的也在影响儿童的思维的发展。
