人教版八年级英语上册阅读理解12篇(一)Many animals migrate-they move over long ways, often at the same time and to the same place each year. They move to places where the weather is warmer, where there is more food and water, or where their young will be safer. Here are three amazing examples of migration: One of the largest animal migrations happens on the Serengeti plains(塞伦盖蒂平原) in Africa. More than one million wildebeest(角马) migrate in a big group. As the seasons change, they follow the rain, looking for better grass to eat and water to drink. They stay in one place while the grass and water are good, and then they move on. They return to the same places each year. Thousands of zebras and other animals travel with the wildebeest.Out of all migrating animals, Arctic terns(北极燕鸥) travel the longest way. These seabirds lay their eggs and raise their young in summer in the north of Europe, Asia and North America. Each year around August, they fly south over the oceans. They spend about five months near Antarctica, while it is warmer there. Then after the southern summer ends, they fly north again. Arctic terns travel more than 70.000 kilometers in a year.Salmon(蛙鱼) live most of their lives in the ocean. But when it’s time for them to lay their eggs, they return to the rivers where they were born. They move up rivers and streams to find the right place. Scientists think that the fish remember the special smell of their river, and this is how they find their way. Salmon can swim strongly up hills, and will jump high to get over waterfalls. Here is the reason: seabirds mainly live on fish. When there are fish in the nets, seabirds can smell fish from far away and fly to the nets to catch fish. As a result, they get caught in the nets and then die. These fishing nets kill at least 400,000 seabirds every year. Some seabirds are in great danger now.Scientists know that many seabirds don’t like to see other animals’ eyes. If they do, they will fly away. So they came up with an idea. They designed a floating buoy(浮标) with big eyes and made the eyes large enough so that all seabirds could see the eyes. Also, scientists made the eyes keep moving in the water, so birds coming from different places could see them easily and then flew away. Scientists tested the buoys in the water for 250 hours. The result showed that the eyes made 20%-30% of ducks leave, and some seabirds visited the water less even three weeks after scientists took away the buoys. The test showed success and hope, but scientists found that the eyes didn’t work for all kinds of seabirds. In the fast-paced times we live in, train travel is a good way to slow down.

I dreamed of a getaway.Luckily, my best friend was also thinking of getting out of Los Angeles and invited me to go to Hawaii with her family. After two COVID-19 tests and a double-masked five-hour flight, our five-person group arrived on the Big Island in Hawaii. We packed into a car and drove to our rental (租的) house. It was late at night, so we didn’t really see the island until the next day. Our first day was bright and sunny, so we spent all day at the beach before getting shaved ice (刨冰).We found possibly the best shaved ice place on the island. Big Island Shaved Ice Company (BISIC) has homemade, natural shaved ice flavors (口味) such as passion fruit (百香果), lychee (荔枝), coconut and mango. Unsurprisingly, we visited the place every day.Other than the delicious dessert, Hawaii treated (招待) us to cloudy, sometimes rainy weather on the days we planned to go hiking to waterfalls, and sunny weather on the days we planned to head to the beaches (where I got very, very sunburned). My favorite activity, though, was when we went horseback riding. We saw bright green fields and breathtaking views of the island’s shoreline (海岸线). I rode a horse named Arya. They have drive-in movie theaters and drive-through restaurants. And they also drive for vacations. They often call it the “Great American Road Trip”: the whole family gets into a car or recreational vehicle (RV, 旅行房车), and goes on a summertime trip across the country.American cars are always big, but RVs are the biggest. These are houses on wheels. RVs have kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms. All across the country you can find RV parks. They are places to park your RV and spend the night. And, if you can’t find a good park, you can always make your home in a grocery store parking lot. When your little brother kicks you in the face all night in your small bed under the table, a big RV can seem very small. And, when the dog barks (吠) and Mom plays her country music on the radio——your family is not at its best. What’s worse, RVs are always breaking down. But RV travel can be a great time with the family, too. You can see the country in the comfort of your own “home”. You can spend every night in a different scenic (景色的) place, or just stay where you are. You don’t have to pay for hotels or restaurants, only gas. But, best of all, you are free to go wherever you want whenever you want in your home-away-from-home.6.Americans love to ________.A.cook B.drive C.shop D.sleep7.RVs are________ cars in America.A.smaller than B.not as big asC.bigger than D.the same as8.RVs have kitchens, bathrooms and________.A.parks B.bedroomsC.living rooms D.classrooms9.What is one of the disadvantages of the RV?A.It is always breaking down.B.The space of RV is very big.C.There is no noise in RV.D.The radio is always breaking down.10.When you travel by your RV, you can________.A.only stay in the parkB.pay for hotels or restaurantsC.spend every night in a different scenic placeD.only go out on the weekend(2023秋·全国·八年级专题练习)Time for familyOne of my most memorable (难忘的) vacations took place on a farm. When I was a boy, my parents and I traveled from New York City to the countryside for a weeklong taste of rural life. We stayed in a guesthouse on a farm, joining in the daily routines (日常事务) and eating meals with the farmer and his family. We got up early to see the cows as they were milked. I even tried my hand at milking one, then joined the farmer as he released the cows into the field afterward. Later, while my parents busied themselves with farm chores, I helped feed the other animals, then played with the farmer’s kids.Decades later I still have vivid memories of that trip and of experiencing a lifestyle different from my own. It made me realize the value of a vacation, of seeing new things, meeting new people and sharing memorable experiences with family members. To this day I still consider that family trip when I plan my approach to taking time off with my wife and kids. Vacations are a time for resting and connecting. As a bank manager, I spend much of my workday encouraging mycustomers to save their money. One of the reasons I give is that we should all have enough for a family vacation every year. In our busy lives, family is what we should be saving our money, and time for.For my family, our vacations start when we begin planning the trips. We talk about destinations and our budget ahead of time. Among the things we discuss: Can we save money by renting a house instead of spending six nights in a hotel? Would it be better to buy groceries and cook for ourselves rather than eat out every night?Involving the kids in planning the vacation makes sure that they have a great vacation too. While I prefer to visit historical sites and museums, they love to fish and swim. So I build in some relaxation time so that the vacation works for everyone. Each year, setting aside vacation time to spend together is especially important to us. A relaxing environment opens the doors to all kinds of conversations—deep, silly, meaningful. There’s no pressure from the usual everyday tasks. This is the one week a year when I don’t car e whether my kids cleaned their room or did the dishes. What matters that week is that everyone is having a great time.11.The author’s family stayed in a________ on a farm for a weeklong taste of rural life.A.greenhouse B.hotelC.yard D.guesthouse12.What does the author do?A.He is a teacher. B.He is a bank manager.C.He is a farmer. D.He is a guide.13.The author thinks that________.A.we should spend much moneyB.we should donate moneyC.we should save money for family vacationsD.we should deposit all money in the bank14.What does the underlined word “budget” mean?A. 15.From the passage, we can learn that________.A.setting aside vacation time to spend with family every year is importantB.making more money is importantC.saving more money for shopping is importantD.the author didn’t have great time when he was young(2023秋·全国·八年级专题练习)Holiday homeThe British people have just discovered a new country. It’s called the UK! More and more people are choosing to take their holidays in their own country rather than travel abroad. One of the most traditional British holidays is the “seaside holiday”. Stereotypically (典型地), families get on a train or into a car and travel to British seaside towns. In the late 1970s, air travel became affordable (负担得起) for the average (普通的) family, and more and more British people started traveling abroad for their summer holidays. After all, the British weather isn’t very good, even in summer, so a lot of Britons leave the UK for a vacation.British holidaying habits have begun to change, however. Climate (气候) change means that the UK now has a hotter climate than before, so people do not need to go overseas to find good weather. Also, the credit crunch (信贷危机) has affected (影响) the international value of the British pound, so going abroad is more expensive than it used to be. As a result, more and more Britons are choosing to spend their summer holidays in the UK.In the UK, the domestic (国内的) tourism industry—when people go on holiday in their own country—is healthier than it has been before. UK newspapers have even invented a new word: a “staycation”. It is a term to describe the vacation when people stay in their own homes and go on a few day-trips rather than spending money on hotels. In some ways, therefore, the UK has come full circle. There is now an increased appreciation (欣赏) among Britons for the diversity (多样性) of the UK. It is not just the geography that is diverse, ranging (范围包括) from the green hills of England to the mountains of Scotland. It is also the diversity of cultures that is beginning to be of interest to domestic tourists. People forget sometimes that there are different accents (方言), languages, traditions, cuisines (美食) and peoples across all the regions of the UK.The UK has always been famous for its international explorers (探险者). It is only just starting to discover itself.16.The British weather was ________ in the late 1970s.A.very good B.not very goodC.changeable D.cold17.“Staycation” is a vacation when _________.A.people stay in hotels and go on a few day-tripsB.people travel to British seaside townsC.people stay in their homes and go on a few day-tripsD.people go abroad18.British people find that ________.A.the UK is also a good place to spend their holidays inB.more and more people like to travel to other countriesC.the UK isn’t a good place to liveD.going abroad is cheaper than it used to be19.British people are paying more attention to Britain’s ________.A.economy B.climateC.diversity D.language20.What does the passage mainly tell us?A.More and more Britons travel abroad.B.More and more Britons travel in their own country.C.The weather in the UK changes a lot.D.The credit crunch in the UK.(2022秋·八年级校考单元测试)It may be the best of times for the Chinese parents—and the worst of times for young video game players. On Monday, the government officially limited(限制) the weekly time a student can spend on video games.According to the official notice, companies can only offer services to teenagers for one hour between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and other public holidays. The move made many adults happy online and off.Research showed that youths who lost themselves in video games can play as much as 10 hours a day, and many have no interest in studies or playing with others in real life. What’s more, too much screen time at a close distance can cause myopia(近视). This can also make students not sleep well. Too much screen time may also make students become fat. While there are good sides of video games, it might be important to remember bad habits have to start somewhere. And young children should learn to control themselves and manage(管理) their time. The move sounds a little hard to kids. But as the Chinese saying goes, good advice doesn’t so und nice, and bitter medicine has effective results. It is, of course, good for kids to develop good habits. But regulations(法规) are only one piece of the problem. Parents and teachers’ help is also very important. They should suggest more healthy activiti es that can develop the youth’s love for real life—in the real world.21.How many days can’t students play video games in a week usually?A.Two. B.Three. C.Four. D.Five22.What does the writer want to express in Paragraph 7?A.The time limit is surely helpful for students.B.The time limit is a sad thing for students.C.There’re no better ways to solve the problem.D.Keep the good habit and you will make success.23.Why does the government limit the time a student can spend on video games?A.To protect the healthy development of students.B.To make parents feel more relaxed.C.To improve students’ interest in study.D.To improve the relationship between students and parents.24.How should parents or teachers help students develop good habits according to the writer?A.They should give more homework to students.B.They should play with students for longer time.C.They should lead students to join in some healthy activities.D.They should tell students more about the bad sides of playing video games.(2022秋·八年级校考单元测试)A great number of people in the world have never seen snow. Others see more of it than they want to. Hail is much more common: it happens even in deserts.Hail is a small round ball of alternating layers(交互层) of snow and clear ice. It forms inside large dark clouds that you can see before or during a storm. There are two ideas about how hailstones form (构成).One idea shows that hail forms when drops of water freeze in the upper air. As they fall, they collect more drops of water. They also collect snow. The ice and snow build up in layers. If you cut a hailstone, you can see these alternating layers. The other idea says that hail starts as a raindrop. The wind cries it higher into the atmosphere(大气层) where it gets covered by snow. It becomes heavy and begins to fall. As it falls, it gets a layer of water, which freezes. Then the wind carries it back up to the snow area, and it gets another layer of snow. This can happen a number of times. Finally the hailstone is too heavy to travel on the wind, and it falls to the ground.Only a thunderstorm, a storm with loud noises and lightning can produce hail, but very few of them do. He stopped the meeting an asked everyone what would happen if Sony took away the recording function and speakers and sold headphones with a tape player instead. Almost everyone thought he was silly. However Ibuka kept his idea and worked at it. The result, of course, turned out to be the successful Sony Walkman.Good ideas often start with a really silly question. Bill Bowerman was making breakfast one day. As he stood there making cakes for his son, he asked himself what would happen if he put rubber into his mold(模具) Later, he tried it and the result was something like the bottom of most sports shoes we see today. Still, when he took his idea to several shoe companies, he was laughed at. In fact, every single company turned him down. Though rather disappointed, Bowerman went on to form his own company, making NIKE sports shoes. We know today, of course, that each of these ideas caused a successful thing that has changed the way many of us live. The best questions are usually open-ended and are often silly. Children aren't afraid to ask such questions, but adults usually are.
