On May 1st，2015，seven middle school students went swimming in the Dongjiang River．At first，they had a great time playing in the water．Suddenly one of the boys had a cramp（抽筋）．He went up and down in the water and shouted for help．Two of them tried to save him，but got drowned．At that time，a man called Li Jinlin was fishing nearby．When he heard the shout，he jumped into the water without a second thought．He tried his best to save the second one，he ran out of energy and couldn’t go up again．Two students and he lost their loves．

More about Little Free Library：

The idea was started in 2009in Hudson, Wisconsin, when Todd Bol placed a homemade wooden box in his front yard. The box looked like a one-room schoolhouse. Inside were a dozen or more books free for the taking. It was put there in memory of Todd's mother, a teacher who loved reading. She had died several years earlier．

His neighbors and friends loved it, so he built several more and gave them away. Later, more people joined Todd in starting the project called Little Free Library．In 2017, the were more than sixty thousand Little Free Libraries in over eighty countries around the world．

Mother’s Day is celebrated in the USA. It is also a holid ay in some other countries. It is on the second Sunday in May. It is a day to thank mothers. We should make mothers happy on that day.

Where does the idea for the holiday come from? We should thank Miss Anna M. Jarvis. She brought up the idea of having such a day. She lived in West Virginia. Her mother died on May 9th, 1905. She had a deep love for her mother. She wrote letters to some important persons. In her letters she asked them to decide a day for all mothers. Then Mother's Day was made on the second Sunday in May by the USA in 1913.

In China, children give presents to their mothers on Mother's Day, or the whole family go out and try to do something nice for their mothers. Because mothers always think of others more than themselves. They love their children and families very much. Everybody should show his love to his mother and help her as much as possible.

Welcome to Woodlands Junior School. Our school is big and it has 380 students aged 7-11. However, it only had 108 students and four teachers when it was open on September 10th, 1964.

Main Teaching Building

As you can see, the school has a huge yard and next to it is the main teaching building. It is a two-storey building with twelve classrooms, six on each floor. In each classroom there is a computer, an overhead projector (投影仪), and a smart whiteboard. It also has a small reading area with different kinds of books offered by the students.

Library

Our school library is used for all the reading classes weekly and at lunch times. The members of the reading club also meet here and do some reading after school.

School Hall

We have a fantastic school hall. It is used for gym, meetings and having lunch. It is the place where we hold many events, such as school plays, concerts, indoor games and so on.

Other Rooms

We have a well-equipped music room for music lessons, a computer room of thirty-two computers and a large staffroom for teachers o have a rest during lunch times.

Playgrounds

We are lucky to have two playgrounds. The y are used by the students for ball games and cross-country runs. Our students enjoy themselves here after school every afternoon.

Report One

People with sweet childhood memories，especially good relationships with parents，will have less stress and fewer diseases after they grow up，according to a research in the magazine Health psychology．

"We found that good memories seem to have a good effect on health．Perhaps they can reduce stress or help us keep healthy choices in life，"said the researchers of the study．

The researchers used more than 22，000 people in two studies．The first period followed adults in their mid﹣40s for 18 years and the second period followed adults 50 and over for 6 years．

In both groups，people who remembered higher levels of love from their mothers as children experienced better physical health later in life．Those who had memories with more support from their fathers also had less feelings of sadness．

Many people may experience the time when they are sad or feel they can't enjoy anything．They hate being weak．So they hide their true feelings．But the report says this behavior can even make the depression worse．The more attention people pay on happiness，the more disappointed they might probably be．Researchers call on the people to have a more friendly and patient attitude （态度）about the depression．Only in this way will people not be afraid of it．They will be more likely to speak out the problems，and then take actions to deal with them．
