Well, actually it's more than a garden, it's like a park, It's called Princes Street Gardens and it's very large. Apparently it was created from an old loch, like a lake, which dried up.It's been there for hundreds of years now and has a lot of trees, plants, flowers and other interesting things like statues, monuments and fountains and stuff like that. It's a public garden and every day you can see hundreds of people there - some of them are tourists visiting Edinburgh - and others are just walking through the gardens on their way to someplace, or you can often see people sitting having something to eat or drink at one of the cafes.Just last week I saw several people sitting on some of thebenches reading, now that the weather has turned nice again.I used to go to the gardens a lot when I first arrived here from abroad. I found it very relaxing - so much greenery - in the middle of the capital city. Now I try to go every couple of weeks to explore a little and learn a bit more about the gardens. I have some favourite places in the gardens, for example, the Ross Fountain, and there are many other monuments and commemorative sites which honor explorers, reformers, and volunteers and people who died in various wars and for various causes throughout history. It's almost like walking through a history book sometimes. I would love to have enough time to learn about all of them. But one of the things I like most is that you can always find a quiet place to be by yourself if you go - or you can go to different parts where there are a lot of people all around - there's a lot of variety and you can see, and sometimes even meet, people from all over the world.I suppose if you were really interested in flowers and trees and things like that it would be a great place to spend some time too.Flowers don't really interest me, but it's easy to see that there are a lot of different plants and shrubs throughout the gardens.Personally, I just like going there because there is always something to do and different people to see, and to see how different the gardens look as the seasons change.雅思口语part3Do your friends visit this garden too?Yes, some of them do, but not all of them. Sometimes I go with two or three friends, but I also like going by myself whenever I can, just to relax.Do you think gardens are important for people? For some people, yes, but not for all people. Some people aren't really interested in gardens - so they don't really appreciate the beauty and tranquility you can find there. But it's important to have gardens in cities or urban areas because it helps people reconnect with nature which is difficult to do when you're surrounded by concrete structures. What are the benefits of gardens for different age groups?Well, I suppose some of the benefits are the same irrespective of age - I mean children and older people can both enjoy the flowers and colors of a garden, but children might enjoy playing on the grass or in the special play areas provided for them while older people might like to simply sit and enjoy the peacefulness and fresh air.Should governments encourage more gardens in cities?Personally, I believe they should because they are extremely important for many people. As I mentioned before, for some people it's the only opportunity they get to see any greenery if they never get out of the city.Gardens are also usually a quiet place you can escape to amongst the hustle and bustle of the city - which can help people relax or just have a quick break from their normal hectic routines, so yes it's a good idea if governments or city planning authorities include plenty of gardens and other green areas when they plan urban developments. P2Describe a park you visited when you were a child. You should say:Where the park isWhat you did in the parkAnd explain how you felt about itP3Why is it important to build parks?Should parks be built in big cities? What kind of facilities should a park provide?Do you think parks should be free of charge? What do people in your country like to do in parks雅思口语part2高分话题范文:你最喜欢的公园/花园Describe your favourite park/garden.You should say:Where it isWhat can be seen thereHow often you go thereAnd explain why you like it. Well, as you can imagine, I've been to quite a few parks and gardens, but if I had to pick a favourite, I guess I would probably say Taiziwan Park, which is somewhere in the centre of Hangzhou, not far from the West Lake. And regarding what you can see there, well I guess the first thing to mention would be the tulips, which are really gorgeous, and are all over the place. In fact, I'm sure if you look on the Internet, you'll probably be able to see some photos of the park and the flowers. And as well as the tulips, another thing that a lot of people go to see is the cherry blossom, which is quite literally stunning, especially in the spring time. Unfortunately though, I've seen quite a number of people shaking the blossom off the branches, which means it disappears quicker than it would do naturally. So it's a bit of a pity, as nothing much can really be doneabout it. But anyway, it's honestly no exaggeration to say that the park is incredibly beautiful, and that's why you'll also see a lot of young couples there taking wedding photos.Anyway um, as for how often I go there, well if truth be told, I don't really go there all that often, probably only something like three or four times a year, the main reason being that it gets really crowded on weekends, and it's a bit of an effort to get to from where I live.So finally then, with regard to why I like this park, well there's not really that much more to say about it, you know, it's just a really nice and scenic place to go and relax. Oh yeah, and the other great thing about it is that it's free entrance, which didn't use to be the case a while ago, so I guess I'll be going there more often in the future!

A garden you visited and likedYou should say:where it ishow it looks likeand explain why you often go thereToday I’d like to describe my home garden, which I think is a beautiful one and which I like very much. The garden is part of my home’s backyard, and my house is located in the su burbs, about a 1-hour drive from the city of San Francisco. There is a big tree right in the middle of my garden, which is surrounded by a hot tub, a small water fountain, several bushes, a section for vegetables, and different kinds of flowers. This garden was actually one of the reasons why my wife and I chose to buy our house because it had been beautifully maintained by the previous owner ’ s gardener and landscaper. It ’ s been only 1 year since we bought the house and now we are taking care of the garden ourselves. Even though we are not experts in gardening, we still try our best to plant things that we like, such as roses and tulips, and we even grow our own tomatoes.Whenever family and friends come to visit us, we invite them to have a relaxing time in our hot tub, and enjoy the view. So in other words, our garden has also become a kind of resort! Itdefinitely requires lots of hard work to properly maintain the garden, but it gives us a great sense of accomplishment to “decorate” it the way we like. All in all, the garden is one of the best features of my home and it is a place where I can relax after a long day of work or during the weekends. What is your opinion about the phenomenon that many people like to plant vegetables by themselves? Why do people like houses attached with garden?Do you often go to visit gardens? Are there any houses or apartments with gardens?Except houses, is there any other types of housing with gardens? How about organic food? I remember visiting a big garden at my uncle’s house when I was a college student. The garden was so big and was so beautiful that I still remember it. It was at my maternal uncle’s firm house and was adjacent to a narrow lake. My uncle lives in a 4 storied building but he had a firm house and a very nice garden that he looked after. This was a very good earning source for him as well. One day he invited me to visit the garden with him and I agreed to visit it. I became speechless when I entered into the garden. It was at lease 2-3 acres and had been placed beside a lake. A soft, balmy wind was blowing and the flowers were dancing with the wind. I have never seen so many flowers together that I watched in this garden. There were fence all around the garden to protect it from savage animals. There were several types of trees in this garden including flowers trees, vegetable & fruit trees and big trees to give shadows to other trees. This was not a public garden so the entry was restricted for the people to enter inside the garden. But I have noticed that people could easily come near the garden as the lake was a public place. They enjoyed the beauty of the garden from outside. The people who takes care of the garden water the trees, cut of the unexpected branches of the trees, takes away the dust and rubbish from the garden and keep close eye in the garden so that wild animals can’t do any harms of it.I remember the garden because it was so beautiful and was near the lake. The several numbers of flowers in the garden and the chattering of the known and unknown birds overwhelmed me. I was supposed to be there for an hour or so but I was so much attracted to the beauty of this garden that I stay there for several hours.Similar Cue Card topics:Your ability to talk about this Cue Card Topic would enable you to talk about the following Cue Card Topics as well:1. 1. Do you like parks? Why / why not?Yes, I like parks because they're great places to relax or gofor a walk. I think everycity needs some green space where people can escape from the crowds.

看前句,讲理由时“they are great places to relax or go for a walk”,扪心自问的话,我们在面临相同语境时,往往容易说随口成“people can relax or go for a walk in parks”,两句话的高下立现。

simon在此处可以说很带感的讲述了park对于城市人的意义:green space where people can escape from the crowds,简洁而富感染力。

2. How often do you visit parks? There's a park very close to where I live, so I probably go there once or twice a week if the weather's nice. There's a park very close to where Ili ve”和” if the weather's nice”,可以说作者很清晰直白地向我们展示了如何将一个贫瘠的回答”I probably go there once or twice a week”优化得有血有肉的过程。

She was my good friend in high school and we haven’t seen each other for almost a year. As we were both having our semester break, we wanted to meet and catch up over dinner. We actually planned to meet each other at the park and then decide on where to go later, but my friend got there pretty late so we ended up staying there. We got two takeout milk tea glasses and kebabs from a small street vendor and found a comfortable corner to enjoy ourselves. We sat there watching people passing by, talking about random things that came up. The weather that day was pretty nice actually. It was raining in the evening all week, so we were worried that we might have to go home early. But it turned out to be a fine evening.I guess what makes the day special was the fact that, despite having to wait for my friend to show up and then not going anywhere like we originally planned to, we still had a lotmore fun than I had expected. We updated each other on what was going on in our lives and discussed our plans for the future. It was a nice feeling to know even though we couldn’t meet and talk frequently, we could still bond easily over milk tea and kebabs. It made me realize that sometimes we only need good company and good conversations to make something memorable. Part 3Who should people spend more time with?Family or friends? The main reason why family time is important is because you need to develop ties and bond with your family. This is one reason. Another explanation for trying this out is I've never done snorkelling before so I think I must do itonce in a life. Overall, probably I'd have been done this sport by next month end.雅思口语part3What’s the difference between outdoor sports and indoor sports?Outdoor games are typically any game which must be played outside, or otherwise requires a large play area. Badmitten, horseshoes, etc are examples of outdoor games. Equipment for most outside games may be considered sporting goods rather than gaming equipment. Many outdoor games are considers to be sports and even have official competitions, such as Frisbee.Indoor games are typically any game which must be played inside, away from the possibility of interference due to weather (rain, wind, etc.) These games involve a very small play area, usually limited to a single tabletop. Pretty much any game you find in the game section of your big box store is an indoor game. Like outdoor games, some indoor games are considered a sport if only because there are official competitions, such as chess. What kinds of water sports are popular nowadays?Swimming is one of the most popular water sports all over the world. It has evolved tobecome one of the most common recreational activity. Swimming competitions are common, and many of them take place in swimming pools or in open water like lake or seas. It tests the body’s fitness and stamina. It’s a great workout for the whole body. Why should we develop water transport?Water transport is the cheapest and the oldest mode of transport. It operates on a natural track and hence does not require huge capital investment in the construction and maintenance of its track except in case of canals. The cost of operation of water transport is also very less. It has the largest carrying capacity and is most suitable for carrying bulky goods over long distances. It has played a very significant role in bringing different parts of the world closer and is indispensable to foreign trade.Do you think it is necessary for everyone to learn to swim?It is a good way to develop and enhance the growth of children, improve their posture and let them have a good time. It maintains your heart rate and takes away stress from the body. It builds muscular strength and increases immunity. Exercises your lungs and helps to keep you fit. It helps to burn calories which in turn reduces weight. It is the only physical activity which involves and tones all of bodies muscles. Describe a practical skill you learnedYou should say:What it wasWhen you learned itWhy you learned itAnd how you felt about itPart 3What is the most important practical skill in modern society? What kinds of skills are difficult to learn? What kinds of professions require practical skills? What are some special skills that people can learn? OK! I'd like to start off by saying a practical skill I've learned recently. It is a mobile phone repairing. It is more about electronics and technology and involves an understanding of the Printed Circuit Board.I have a vivid memory of doing the course of repairing electronic items. When I was in the second year of my graduation, I was told that people should have extra skills so that later in life they will find livelihood jobs.I had enrolled for the course diploma course in electronics. I learned to repair Television, Radio, Mobile. Initially, the mentor teaches us a theory about how any equipment works and gradually it took us how to troubleshoot and fix the exact issue. I was quite challenging learning this skill.Overall, it helped me a lot as physics was my major in graduation, the practical session was a piece of cake for me. In my view, everyone should have such skill because it is often that failure of their electronic device, so with this skill they could easily fixthemselves.雅思口语part3:What is the most important practical skill in modern society? They knew that success in today’s economy depended far less on their university degree, and more on the practical ways they could apply their learning to real life situations. What practical skills do children leant at school in your country?I’m afra id that there are not many. Academics are stressed so highly in schools that they seem to overshadow practical skills. I suppose students probably leant to listen to their teacher and how to behave and sit for long periods at a time and apply themselves. They also have to learn how to interact amongst themselves in a satisfactory way. They have to learn how to get up on time and be at their school, which teaches them responsibility. I guess it would help to define what practical skills we are talking about. How useful will these skills be to the children alter they leave school?Well as I was saying in the previous question, these skills would be very helpful to children after they leave school. When a teenager goes from high school to college he has to startmanaging things on his own without the security of mom and dad. Even more so when a young adult graduates from college or university, he would also be very grateful to have some practical knowledge on how to survive in the working world.Do you think it’s useful f or adults to attend classes to further their education?Sure, why not, if it is something that they find useful in their lives and something that they enjoy. Learning is lifelong and I don’t know if it has to stop in old age. Now I know that a lot of times these adults are looked upon as teachers, but if they feel so inclined why not attend a class to further their education. If they are not able to keep up with the young students then this would be a detriment, but if there are no disruptions why not? What kinds of courses exist in your country for adults? There are wonderful exercise classes that are available for adults. I don’t know if you have seen large groups of older women out on the streets performing with various percussion instruments, but these are classes that help them to work together and perform for audiences. There arc dancing classes available. There are even English classes available for senior citizens. There are Tai Chi classes also available to seniors here. As time goes on and the country develops there will be more classes that will be available for seniors.。

Well, as you can imagine, I've been to quite a few parks and gardens, but if I had to pick a favourite, I guess I would probably say Prince's Bay Park, which is somewhere in the centre of Hangzhou, not far from the West Lake.Regarding what can be seen there, well I guess the first thing to mention would be the tulips, which are really gorgeous, and are all over the place. In fact, I'm sure if you look on the internet, you'll probably be able to see some photos of the park and the flowers yourself. And as well as the tulips, another thing that a lotof people go to see is the cherry blossom, which is quite literally stunning, especially in the spring time. Unfortunately though, I've seen quite a number of people shaking the blossom off the branches, which means it disappears quicker than it would do naturally, so it's a bit of a pity, as nothing much can really be done about it. But anyway, it's honestly no exaggeration to say that the park is really incredibly beautiful, and that's why you'll also see a lot of young couples there taking wedding photos.Anyway, as for how often I go there, well if truth be told, I don't really go there all that often, probably only something like once or twice a month, the main reason being that it's pretty crowded on weekends, and I tend to only go when friends of mine come to see me in Hangzhou, as it's one of the places I like to show them when they're here, for the reasons I've mentioned. So finally then, with regard to why I like this park, well there's not really that much more to say about it, apart from the fact that it's just a really nice and scenic place to go and relax, and simply enjoy the beauty of nature. The other great thing about it is that it's free entrance, which didn't use to be the case a while ago, so I guess I'll be going there more often in the future! That's pretty much it, then, so thanks for listening.。

Describe a public park or garden you often visit
You should say:
Where it is.
What it looks like.
What you usually do there.
And explain how you feel about it.
Well, speaking of a park I often visit,I feel really proud to say there is a wonderful park just located in the centre of our community so that almost all the residents living nearby enjoy going there for various
activities despite their age.
You can always see young couples taking their kids for a picnic somewhere in the park on weekends, and it's also easy to notice some students holding a book to read on sunny mornings. However,it is definitely the most popular place for elder people to go to for morning exercise, such as Taiji, jogging,or even public dancing. As for me,my favorite leisure activity is to take a walk with my family after dinner, and that is what makes me truly happy.
To be honest,I don't think there is anything special about it.I mean, like most other public parks, there're many big green trees planted all over the park, which cover most areas of the park, especially when I look down from the windows of our apartment.Apart from those trees,we can also discover some awesome plants with the blossom of beautiful
flowers when each spring comes, which makes it quite a charming place to visit. What's more, our local government has also constructed quite a number of benches inside so that visitors could have places to sit for a rest, especially when they get a bit tired after exercise.
I personally favor this park a lot cuz it is so accessible, meaning its locations make it so easy for me as well as my family to visit it anytime we want to.On top of that,I always have a great time greeting people when I take a walk in that park as most visitors are my neighbors so that it does give me an intimate feeling when I spend time in this park.。
