Chinese and Western Food

Food culture plays a crucial role in the development of society and advancement of human civilization. And everyone has to absorb nutrition from food in daily life. For breakfast,Chinese eat fried fritters and drink soy milk,while westerners eat eggs,bread and drink milk. Moreover,we always find other imparities between Chinese and western foods. The reason why Chinese and western foods have their own distinctive characteristics is the difference.

Both of Chinese and western foods can be grouped into different varieties,such as the former including Sichuan,Hunan,Guangdong and Dongbei dishes,the latter including French,British,Italian and American foods. Although they have common similarities, there still are greater imparities between them.First of all,the staple of westerners is bread,while staples of Chinese are rice,noodles and steamed buns. In addition,Chinese have a meal with a bowl,a spoon and a pair of chopsticks,while westerners use knives and forks. What's more,westerners put olive oil or butter into the pot,while Chinese cook the meal with peanut oil or soybean oil. Furthermore,westerners like to match raw vegetables with food,just like raw broccoli and tomatoes,on the contrary Chinese hardly do this. Similarly, westerners like beefsteaks cooked

medium-well,while Chinese prefer well-done food. Last but not least,Chinese food owns profound culture accumulations from generation to

generation,contributing to various cooking methods,including

boiling,stewing,frying,steaming and baking etc.

As far as I'm concerned,both of them have their special features. The same is that they are famous,prevailing food culture belonging to human. Thus,we should respect their differences and give the best play to their superiority.
