About this Ma nual

This is an op erating manual for safely and correctly imp lementing any of the controls

below using a system consisting of the field-tested AE1000, various sensors and an electric

actuator (plus other related equipment).

This section is limited to explaining the operating mode.

For an exp lanation of the settings mode (i.e., the mode for modifying p arameters or

carrying out confirmation) and other details, p lease refer to the AE1000 Instruction

Manual (QJ2801.*-E).

Control Types (excluding options)

EPC (Edge Position Control)

EPC is used to prevent the across-the-width position from moving out of alignment by

monitoring one edge of a web* (the edge position) by sensor.

CPC (Center Position Control)

CPC is used to ensure that a web passes through a machine center by monitoring both

edges of the web with two sensors and always ensuring that the output of the two sensors

is the same.

LFC (Line Follower Control)

LFC is used to prevent the across-the-width position from moving out of alignment by

monitoring a web control target (i.e., a printing line, printing edge, etc.).

Note:"Web" refers to any sheet-shaped product, including paper, film and metal sheeting that passes through a printing or processing line.

Up/Down key ( , key)

These keys increase and decrease the value when in the gain adjustment or shift

adjustment screens.

Otherwise, the keys are used to switch screens (P1 to P6) while in operating mode.

Polarity inversion key (NOR/REV key)

This key reverses the polarity of a sensor signal.

The function ap p lies to SNS1 POL or SNS2 POL for the p arameters (internal

settings).

Note:By default, inversion is effective only when the LH8B sensor is selected.
