《实用英语》

非英语专业普招生各专业
四、教学目的
本课程应作为培养非英语专业普招生达到预期培养目标的基础课。在学生现有的英语基础上,巩固、扩大学生的基础知识,发展听、说、读、写的基本技能,培养在口头上和书面上进一步用英语进行交际的能力,即,能够通过扩大词汇量来提高听力水平;能够形成良好的语感,用基本正确的语音表达自己的想法,能够通过熟练掌握常用句型以及运用各种应用文写作方法进行应用文写作(如,书信、传真、便条、通知、假条等);能够较为准确地进行汉译英的句子翻译以及英译汉的段落翻译。最终使学生能以英语为工具进行简单的交流,为日后服务于社会打下良好的外语基础。
五、教学要求
学习本课程需要具备起点词汇量为1500个以上单词,熟悉英语的基本表达方式,掌握英语常用的基本句型,能够听懂常用课堂用语和日常用语。
学习本课程除采取课堂讲授、问答、适当讨论等方法以外,还应适时辅以听录音,模仿听说等教学手段。
本课程应使学生扩充词汇量约为4000个左右。

1.Grasp the basic skills necessary to understand and talk to other people when meeting them for the first time;
2.Understand the main ideas of Text A, B and C , and master the useful sentence structures and words and expressions found in the relevant exercises of the first two texts;
3.Know clearly how to use the present simple tenses of English;
4.Fill in a form with their personal information;
5.Understand the main idea of an English paragraph and identify the topic sentence.
