试卷一:Motivation and methods in learning The great difference in learning outcomes, especially among those who are almost equally hardworking, has triggered a controversial issue as to the importance of motivation and methods for learning. Views on the topic vary greatly among people from different walks of life. Some believe that motivation and methods are the main factors accounting for the learning effect, but others consider them less important than hardworking. I personally agree with the former for the reasons presented below. Before learning, it is motivation that gets a person started. Without motivation -- that is, without interest or an exam that drives you to learn -- you won't even start the learning process, and naturally there won't be any outcome. During learning, it is again the motivation that encourages the learner not to give up half way. And this is when great methods come along. With proper methods, learning becomes easier and hence less frustrating because a learner can usually achieve more with less learning materials or practice. Consequently, it boosts motivation as well. However, hardworking with improper methods results in failure to produce positive outcome, and aggravates the feeling of frustration. From my perspective, it is crucial that we understand and accept the fact that motivation and methods are more critical to learning than hardworking. Only in this way can we make full use of our efforts and have better learning outcomes. 试卷二:mutual understanding and respect in interpersonal relationships Understanding and respect "You reap what you sow." The wisdom of this saying is not lost in our era, especially when it comes to mutual understanding and respecting others, yet arrogance seems rife nowadays. The implication of this message is, in the case of respect, that if you understand and respect others, you will be understood and respected in return. Understanding and respecting others is rewarding in three aspects. First, from a social standpoint, it enhances mutual trust and reduces the chance of conflicts between people with different beliefs because it urges people to think in others' shoes before criticizing their opinions thereby preventing impulsive conflicts. Moreover, it benefits the understanding and respectful person himself, too. Understanding and respecting others helps him to calm down and take a deeper insight into his own ideas, which means he is more likely to think in the big picture. Finally, we should always bear in mind that respect is earned with respect, and so is understanding, and you will never win them with arrogance and threat. When we understand and respect others, we command them from others as well. There is asimulative effect that kicks in when people stay humble and respect diversity. By respecting and harnessing each other's strengths, we boost opportunity for all people. 试卷三:the importance of team spirit and communication in workplace Team spirit and communication in workplace It is time, at last, to speak the truth about the importance of team spirit and communication, and the truth is this. Team spirit and communication are really not such outdated clichés, especially in the circumstance of the workplace. In the workplace, team spirit and communication are crucial in two aspects. Firstly, a job worth doing is usually worth doing together. Although some people do succeed by working independently, more indications tend to show that teamwork helps people achieve more, and it is the communication that transforms the chaotic crowds into orderly teams. Also, team spirit implies team objectives weigh more than individual accomplishment. It's like an orchestra performance. None of the performers is better than all of them. The performers “communicate” mutely and join their efforts. They know it clearly that no one can whistle a symphony on his own -- it takes a whole orchestra to play it. In a nutshell, team spirit and communication in the workplace shall never be underestimated. Only by working as a team and communicate well with colleagues can one attain greater accomplishment.

From my perspective, what we need are motivation and methods.Motivation refers to desire and determination in people to be continually interested in and committed to certain aims. It is an indispensable part of learning. If we want to complete heavy school work, motivation is a necessity. Without motivation, it is hard to overcome difficulties. The inventor of the electric bulb, one of the famous scientists in the world, Thomas Edison, is a good case in point. Before the bulb came into being, he had failed thousands of times. With motivation, he finally lit the whole world. With motivation we also need proper methods to study efficiently. Generally speaking, the more effectively you study, the greater success you will achieve. Method is a great element of learning. Without proper methods, we may go nowhere in our pursuit of success in study. In a word, motivation and methods play a vital role in successful study. The same is true of other aspects of our life, such as friendship, love and career. As the saying goes:”Motivation is what gets you started. Methods are what helps you keep going.”Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on the importance of mutual understanding and respect in interpersonal relationships. I argue that mutual understanding and respect are indispensable to maintain genuine interpersonal relationship. As competition in all fields grows increasingly fierce, nobody can achieve success in his life without the assistance of his partners. Take basketball hero Jordan for an instance, he can slam the dunk smartly because of contribution and assistance of his teammates. If people work separately, they will only suffer from frail minds and limited resources. It is a happy thing to understand and respect others in interpersonal relationships. Mutual understanding and respect can make people popular among others; mutual understanding and respect can bring hearts full of love; mutual understanding and respect can make people wise and benevolent. Without mutual understanding or respect, people cannot get along well with others.Let us try our best to be people who can understand and respect others for understanding and respecting others is making ourselves understood and respected.Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on the importance of team spirit and communication in the workplace. They are reluctant to assume vital tasks in life and study, instead focusing on their own personal matters. Yet one’s ultimate success is largely dependent on having the character to accept and fulfill the responsibility. The sense of responsibility is a precious moral quality in a person. No matter who you are, having th e sense of responsibility can win others’ respect and trust, which enhance close interpersonal relationship. Additionally, it can assist a person in attaining greater achievement. By proving themselves faithful in small things, a person can expect to be given greater responsibility, and hence greater opportunity. Therefore, the sound working atmosphere and interpersonal relationships among employees are crucial to both physical and mental pleasure. In addition, community responsibility can improve efficiency. In the fast-paced modern society, time is money and efficiency holds the key to saving time. As the saying goes, two heads are better than one. So great importance should be attached to the cultivation of the sense of community responsibility and we will eventually benefit from it.From what has been mentioned above, we can come to the conclusion that the sense of community responsibility is a kind of good personal quality, which deserves our attention.。

2019年6月大学英语六级真题第一套作文

2019年6月大学英语六级真题第一套作文

2019年6月大学英语六级真题第一套作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Thoughts on the TEM-8 Writing PromptHey there! Today I'm gonna tell you about this super tough writing prompt I had to do for the big English test called the TEM-8. It's a test that college kids have to take if they're studying English. I'm not in college yet, but my teacher asked me to take a look at the prompt and write about it. So here goes! The prompt was all about whether universities should allow corporate sponsors to pay for things on campus, like buildings or events, in exchange for advertising their brands. That's a really grown-up topic if you ask me! But I'll try my best to explain what I think. On one hand, I can see why universities might want corporate money. Schools don't have a ton of cash, and companies have lots of it. If a rich company wants to give a school some money to put their logo on a new science building or sports arena, that could really help the university. With moremoney, they can build better facilities, hire more teachers, and make the campus a nicer place for students. But on the other flip side, letting companies advertise on campus seems kind of weird and icky to me. A university is a place for learning, not a big advertisement! Imagine going to class in the "McDonald's Lecture Hall" or having your graduation ceremony at the "Walmart Commencement Center." That just feels wrong. Schools should be focused on education, not trying to sell students stuff.Plus, what if the companies that sponsor the school are for products that aren't good for students? Like if an alcohol company paid for the new student rec center, or a cigarette brand funded the library. That would be sending the wrong message for sure!Another thing I thought about is how corporate sponsorship could make universities lose their independence. If schools become too dependent on company money, then those companies might start trying to influence how the university is run based on what's best for their business. A professor might feel pressure to promote a certain company's products in class, or the school could be afraid to study topics that go againstcorporate interests. Universities are supposed to be places of independent thinking, not just doing whatever companies want.So those are some of the big pros and cons I see with the issue of corporate university sponsorship. I don't think there's an easy answer. While the money could really help universities in some ways, it also creates a bunch of potential problems and conflicts of interest. Universities should be careful about striking the right balance.Ultimately though, I'm just a kid. What do I know? This is a really complex issue that super smart university leaders will have to figure out. I just hope they make wise choices that keep the integrity and purpose of higher education intact. Students should be able to learn in environments free from crass commercialism. But that's just my two cents!Anyway, that's my take on the whole thing. Did I do a good job analyzing the prompt and looking at it from different angles? Maybe I'll be a writer someday who gets asked to share my thoughts on way tougher topics than this. A kid can dream! Thanks for reading my essay. I'll smell you later!篇2My Big Cousin Took a Super Duper Important TestYou guys, my big cousin Julia is super smart and she goes to a really good university! Last month, she had to take this giant test called the TEM-8. It's kind of like the hugest, most important test ever for university students who are majoring in English. It's so massive that they actually give it twice a year - once in June and once in December! The test has two main parts - listening and writing. For the listening part, Julia had to listen to recordings of people talking in English and answer questions about what they said. It tested if she could understand different accents and pick up on all the details. From what she told me, it was pretty tricky stuff! But the part I want to talk about today is the writing section. It had two tasks that Julia had to write essays for. I'll tell you all about Task 1 since that's the essay prompt they gave her in June 2019.Task 1 asked Julia to read two passages - one was an article about social media influencers, and the other was a letter to the editor criticizing influencers. After reading both texts, she had to write an essay summarizing and discussing the different views presented. Doesn't that sound hard?!In her essay, Julia first had to brieflysummarize the key points made in each of the two passages about influencers. Shesaid the article talked about how influencers have become really popular and can make lots of money by promoting products to their followers on apps like Instagram. But the letter was pretty negative, saying influencers are just fake and materialistic people who try to get others to buy stuff they don't need. Then Julia had to give her own perspective on the issue, analyzing both viewpoints from the passages. She wrote that while some influencers do seem overly focused on making money and having luxurious lifestyles, many influencers also use their platforms for good causes like raising awareness about important issues. She gave examples of influencers who promote body positivity, mental health support, and sustainable living.Julia also discussed how influencers have changed the world of advertising and marketing. She explained that influencer marketing allows companies to target very specific groups of consumers more precisely than through traditional ads. But she pointed out that the influencers have to be transparent about being paid to endorse products. To wrap up her essay, Julia gave a balanced conclusion saying that influencers are neither all good nor all bad. She thinks they have both positive and negative impacts, and it's upto people to be smart consumers who think critically about the messages influencers are spreading. Can you believe my cousin had to write such a long, university-level essay in only 60 minutes?! And in English too! I was completely blown away when she described the crazy difficult writing tasks she had to do for the TEM-8 test. I don't know how she kept her cool under all that pressure.Julia studied so incredibly hard to prepare for this test. She spent months reviewing grammar, vocabulary, reading strategies, writing structures, and practice test materials. I remember her staying up late most nights, diligently prepping with stacks of books and notes spread out on her desk. Her dedication definitely paid off because she ROCKED that TEM-8 and got an amazing score!I'm just in elementary school, but Julia's experience with the TEM-8 test showed me how incredibly skilled you have to be in English to pass it. I have a newfound respect for just how talented and hardworking my cousin is. Who knows, maybe I'll follow in her footsteps and become an English major too when I get to university! But I better start studying now because that test is NO JOKE!篇3The Test for English Majors is Super Hard!Last month, my big cousin had to take the TEM-8 test which is like the super duper hardest English test ever for college students who are majoring in English. It's way harder than the tests I take at school! My cousin said the writing part was the most scary part of the whole test. The writing prompt was about whether famous people have a responsibility to be good role models. That's a really big idea for a little kid like me to understand! But I'll try my best to write about it like my cousin had to.I think famous people definitely have to be good role models. Famous people are, well, famous! That means lots of people know who they are and look up to them. Little kids especially love famous athletes, movie stars, singers and YouTubers. We want to be just like them when we grow up.If a famous person does bad things or says mean stuff, then kids might think it's okay to copy that bad behavior. That's no good! Famous people need to act proper and be on their best behavior all the time when they're out in public. They gotta set a good example.Like if a famous basketball player started cussing a lot and getting in fights during games, then all the kids watching might start cussing too and trying to fight people. Their moms and dads would be so mad! Or if a super popular YouTuber started making fun of people for how they look or where they're from, then their kid fans would probably start bullying people too. That's really mean.Instead, famous people should use their fame to do good things and spread positive messages. They can encourage kids to work hard, be nice to each other, help others, and stay away from drugs and alcohol. Famous people can even start charities to raise money for good causes too.My favorite example of a good role model is the author of my favorite book series, Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling is super famous but also seems like a really nice, smart lady. She writes about the importance of friendship, courage, and fighting against bad guys. Plus she gives lots of her money to charities that help kids. She'srich and famous but still wants to make the world better.Unfortunately though, some famous people do set bad examples. I remember a couple years ago there was a famous singer who would show up drunk to her concerts and slur herwords on stage. How disappointing for her fans! Then there was an actor who got caught driving drunk and went to jail for a little while. Man, I would be so upset if one of my heroes did something irresponsible and illegal like that.Even outside of breaking laws, some celebrities just seem rude, mean and full of themselves. There are definitely some famous athletes who are always bragging about how great they are and putting down their teammates. Or musicians who will start crazy feuds with other musicians over silly things. Yuck!I guess being famous and having tons of money, attention and power can go to some people's heads. They start thinking they can do whatever they want without consequences. But they're wrong! Famous people are human beings just like the rest of us. They still have to follow rules and be good citizens. If I was famous, I would definitely want to be a role model that kids could look up to. I would be kind, work really hard, share my money with charities, and never do anything illegal or unethical. I would use my fame to encourage kids to read more, be good people, and make the world better.Being famous seems like it could be really cool, but also really tough. You'd have to be careful about everything you say and do at all times, since millions of fans would be watching you.One mistake could disappoint a lot of people! But true role models don't let that pressure get to them. They stay humble, grateful and focused on doing good.I hope if I ever get super famous for something when I grow up, I can handle that responsibility well. It's a big job, but someone has to do it. After all, kids are going to find someone to look up to and try to be like, so why not have that person be a good role model? In the end, I agree with my cousin that famous people definitely do have an obligation to be role models, whether they like it or not. With great fame comes great responsibility! But if they can handle it, being a positive role model could be one of the most impactful and meaningful things a celebrity can do with their platform.篇4The 2019 June College English Test Band 6 Writing SectionHi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about the writing section from the big English test that university students took in June 2019. It was really hard but I'll try my best to explain it!The first writing topic was about social media. The question asked if social media does more harm than good. That's a very difficult question! On one hand, social media lets you connect with friends and family all over the world. You can share pictures, tell jokes, and chat about your day. It's a fun way to stay close even if you live far apart. But on the other hand, social media can also be kinda mean sometimes. People say nasty things because they don't have to say it to someone's face. And you can get addicted and waste tons of time just scrolling and scrolling. Some kids even get cyber bullied which is really horrible. If I had to write about this topic, I would say that social media is mostly good if you use it wisely. Don't spend too much time on it, be kind to others, and make sure you also go outside and see friends in real life! Everything is okay as long as you find a good balance. The next writing topic was about employment. The question asked if employers should look at college graduates' social media activity when hiring. This is another very hard topic with pros and cons.I can understand why employers might want to look at social media. If someone posts pictures of themselves breaking laws orbeing irresponsible, maybe that's not a good employee to hire. Social media can show what kind of person the graduate really is in their free time. But it's also an invasion of privacy to dig into someone's personal life before you've even met them. We all joke around and act silly sometimes on social media but it doesn't mean we'll be unprofessional at work. And some employers might be biased against certain posts about politics, religion, or other beliefs that have nothing to do with job performance. For this topic, I would write that employers should be very careful about checking social media. Maybe create strict rules about only looking at public, work-related posts rather than creeping on someone's entire life. And definitely don't discriminate against grads for things like their religious views or sexuality that aren't relevant to the job.The last writing topic was about social trends. The question asked if the disappearance of outdated customs and traditions is lamentable. That's an extremely complicated topic with lots to unpack!I think most kids my age would say good riddance to many old traditions and customs that are unfair or oppressive. Like customs that treat women as less important than men, ortraditions of racism towards certain groups. The world is better off without traditions of hate and injustice like that. Who would want to keep those? At the same time, maybe some customs die because people have lost touch with their history and culture. It's sad if beautiful art forms or meaningful rituals fade away just because no one appreciates them anymore. My grandma tells me stories about fun family traditions when she was little that none of us do now. That feels kinda disappointing. So in my essay, I would say that it's great to let go of unkind or discriminatory traditions that society has outgrown. But we should also work hard to preserve customs that are unique, enriching, and bring people together, even as times change. The good cultural traditions are worth holding onto!Phew, that was a lot of heavy topics to think about! University students definitely have to ponder some very complex issues for that test. I'm just a 10-year-old so maybe I didn't fully understand everything. But I gave it my best shot explaining those writing prompts like a kid would. Hopefully it gave you a better idea of what to expect! Let me know if you have any other questions.篇5College Tests Are Really Hard Work! You know what stinks? Having to take big important tests like the CET-6 exam when you're in college. My older cousin Sally just had to take that test and she said it was super duper hard! The writing part especially made her want to cry. Let me tell you all about how hard it was for poor Sally. The CET-6 writing section had two parts - Task 1 and Task 2. For Task 1, Sally had to read some long boring passage and then write a summary about the main ideas. Can you imagine having to read something so dull and dry and then try to sum it all up? Yuck!Sally said the reading was about how robots and artificial intelligence are becoming more advanced. It talked about how robots can now do lots of jobs that humans used to have to do, like work in factories, drive cars and trucks, and even perform surgeries! The passage said AI is getting smarter and smarter and might one day be as intelligent as human brains, or maybe even smarter. Isn't that just crazy? After reading all that robotic mumbo jumbo, Sally had to write a summary of the key points in just one paragraph using120-170 words. She could use her own sentences but couldn't copy directly from the passage. That's really hard, don't you think? Like, how do you fit all the main ideas into such a short paragraph? I probably would have just written "Robots are getting super smart and might take over the world one day." But I guess that's not a very good summary! For Task 2, poor Sally had to write an entire essay of 300-400 words. She got to choose between two topics. One was about whether AI and robots will create more jobs than they replace. The other option asked if advanced technology is a threat to human society and values. I don't know which one Sally picked, but I bet they were both mega tough to write about! Can you imagine trying to write a whole long essay about robots taking over human jobs or maybe turning against us? I'd be so scared the robots would read my essay and get mad at me! Or what if I wrote the robots are mostly helpful, and then they go and enslave humanity? Yikes!Essay writing is just the worst, especially when you have to do it for a big important test that helps decide if you can graduate college or not. No wonder Sally came home feeling so stressed and ready to take a long nap. I'm just really glad I'm still in elementary school and don't have to worry about AI robotoverlords or summarizing research articles yet. Being a kid is so much easier!Well, I've probably gone on long enough. Writing this made me tired just thinking about how hard Sally had to work on her CET-6 writing tasks. I sure hope I don't have a test like that waiting for me in the future. Let's all hope the robots stay friendly and helpful instead of trying to replace us!篇6The Prompt Was About FriendsHi there! My teacher asked me to write about the topic for the big English test that university students took last summer. The question was all about friends and what makes a good friend. That's a subject I know a lot about because I have plenty of good buddies at school!First off, I think the most important quality in a true friend is being kind and caring. My best pal Johnny always looks out for me on the playground and shares his snacks if I forget my lunch. He never teases me or makes fun of me like some other kids do. Instead, he sticks up for me when bullies try to pick on me. That's what real friends do - they treat each other with respect and look out for each other no matter what.Another key part of friendship is being loyal and trustworthy.I can always count on my friends like Sarah and Michael to keep my secrets safe. If I tell them something private, they never blab it to the entire class or spread rumors about me. They've got my back and I've got theirs too. We're a team that way.Having fun together is huge when it comes to being pals too! The best times are when we're just being silly and goofing around without a care in the world. Like last week when we had a massive game of tag at recess and ran around like maniacs. Or when Michael brings his remote control cars over and we race them up and down the sidewalk for hours. True friendship means you can just cut loose and not worry about impressing anybody. That's not to say we don't get into tiffs sometimes though. Even I've gotten into arguments with my friends before over things like forgetting to give back a borrowed toy or breaking a silly promise. The important thing is that you talk it out instead of holding grudges. My buddy Sarah and I had a huge blowout last month over a game of dodgeball. We went a couple days without speaking until I finally said I was sorry for hurting her feelings. Now we're as tight as ever again! Forgiveness and making up is crucial for any friendship.Speaking of making up, another big part of being a friend is being there for each other through good times and bad. When I failed my math test a few weeks ago, Johnny and the gang showered me with encouragement and built my spirits back up. And when Sarah's dog ran away last year, we all painted pictures and told jokes to try and make her smile again. Real pals don't abandon ship when life gets rough - they batten down the hatches and weather the storms together. So in summary, what makes a good friend? It's being kind, loyal, trustworthy and forgiving. It's being silly together and knowing how to fix your problems. It's supporting each other's highs and lows equally. With buddies like that in your life, you can overcome just about any obstacle! Those university students wrote essays about all that too I'll bet. Being a good friend is one of the most important skills a person can learn, whether you're an 80-year-old grandpa or a kid like me.Well, I hope my take on the big test prompt was on the money! If not, I'll get my friend Johnny to proofread my work next time. That's what friends are for - proofreading each other's essays and sticking together through thick and thin. Thanks for reading, study hard, and make lots of great pals!。

Those signs are as following: when to shake hands and what to say when meet people, when and how to give tips, how to make purchases, when to accept and refuse invitations, when to take statements seriously and when not. These signs, which may be words, gestures, facial expressions, or customs, are acquired by all of us in the course of growing up and as much a part of our culture as the language we speak or the beliefs we accept. All of us depend on hundreds of these signs for our peace of mind and day-to-day efficiency, but we do not carry most at the level of conscious awareness. Now when an individual enters a strange culture, all or most of these familiar signs are removed. The pattern of sharing in tasks and in decisions makes for equality and this in turn leads to further sharing. In such a home, the growing boy and girl learn to accept equality more easily than did their parents and to prepare more fully for participation in a world characterized by cooperation rather by the “battle of the sexes”.If the process goes too far and man’s role is regarded as less important—and that has happened in some cases—we are as badly off as before, only in reverse. It is time to reassess the role of the man in the American family. We are getting a little tired of “Monism”—but we don’t want to exchange it for a “neo-Popism”. What we need, rather, is the recognition that bringing up children involves a partnership of equals. There are sings that psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and specialists on the family are becoming more aware of the part men play and that they have decided that women should not receive all the credit—nor the blame. We have almost given up saying that a woman’s place is in the home. We are beginning, however, to analyze man’s place in the home and to insist that he does have a place on it. Nor is that place irrelevant to the healthy development of the child. The family is a co-operative enterprise for which it is difficult to lay down rules, because each family needs to work out its own ways for solving its own problems.Excessive authoritarianism (命令主义) has unhappy consequences, whether it wears skirts or trousers, and the ideal of equal rights and equal responsibilities is pertinent (相关的,切题的) not only to a healthy democracy, but also to a healthy family.16. The ideal of equal rights and equal responsibilities is .A. fundamental to a sound democracyB. not pertinent to healthy family lifeC. responsible for MonismD. what we have almost given up17. They know a cohesive team composed ofgreat communicators plays an irreplaceable role in enhancing the operational efficiency and productivity of anenterprise.Just as they say, many hands make light work.Team members will only become highly motivated to fulfll their own duties when they stand united in thepursuit of a common goal and communicate smoothly. Moreover, mutual respect, support and encouragement ina team helps foster a sense of belonging, maintain harmony in the workplace and thus improve job satisfaction.Consider the tech giant Alibaba, whose huge success, as its CEO Jack Ma acknowledges, benefits considerablyfrom joint efforts and efficient coordination among both clerks and departments, driving the corporation tohandle arduous tasks, confront tough challenges and evenpull through severe crises. In short, team spirit and effective communication are conducive to employee and business performance alike.Any leader who has an ambition to run a successful business, therefore, must create a corporate culture thatemphasizes teamwork and communication skills.(二)题目:Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on the importance of mutual understanding andrespect in interpersonal relationships. You should write at least 150) words but no more than 200 words.范文:How to deal with the complicated interpersonal relationships always remains a major worry for most of us.Wise words or books that aim to teach us to tackle this daunting issue are, almost without exception, puttingstress on mutual understanding and respect, the significance of which seems self-evident.Mutual understanding requires us to put ourselves in each other's place and be forgiving of others5difficulties. By doing so,we will become more easy-going and accessible, and thus more likely to avoidunnecessary conflicts and frictions with others, a common trigger for a failed relationship. Mutual respect—forprivacy, lifestyles, hobbies, professions, opinions and the like—helps creatc a friendly atmospherethatencourages us to share and exchange our ideas openly without the fear of feeling offended. To sum up, this principle of socializing is certainly a prerequisite for healthy and stable interpersonalrelationships. More and morestudents have regarded the pursuing of a master degree as an indispensable part of their education. What is to account for their enthusiasm for a post-graduate diploma? You should write at least 150 words following the outline given below.1.当今大学生面临着严重的就业压力2.这个现象的产生有多方面的原因3.解决的办法College Students on the Job Market_____________________________________________________________ ________________Part I Writing【参考范文】More and more graduates are going out of universities and entering into the society every year while the demand on the job market remains stable. The college students are facing greater and greater pressure in job-hunting.There are many reasons behind the current phenomenon. To begin with, the economy has been confronted with depressionin recent years on a global level, and it takes time for the worldwide economy to recover. What's more, there is anelement of irrationality in the enrollment of the campuses. Some hot majors have enrolled too many students, and many people compete for one position after graduation, whereas the majors with little attention have few students, and more graduates are needed than the campus can supply. The solution to this problem lies with both the government as a whole and the individual in specific. The government takes whatever measures possible to help the economy recover and to create more job opportunities for the applicants. And for the individual students, it is better to study what they are interested in and to gain experience through practice, thus better prepared for the society.Part ⅡReading Comprehension (Skimming and Scanning) (15 minutes)Directions: In this part, you will have 15 minutes to go over the passage quickly and answer the questions on Answer Sheet 1. For questions 1-7, choose the best answer from the four choices marked A), B), C) and D). For questions 8-10, complete the sentences with the information given in the passage. Will Electronic Medical Records Improve Health Care?Electronic health records (EHRs) have received a lot of attention since the Obama administration committed $19billion in stimulus funds earlier this year to encourage hospitals and health care facilities to digitize patient data and make better use of information technology. The healthcare industry as a whole, however, has been slow to adopt information technology and integrate computer systems, raising the question of whether the push to digitize will result in information that empowers doctors to make better-informed decisions or a morass of disconnected data. The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) knows firsthand how difficult it is to achieve the former, and how easily an EHR plan can fall into the latter. UPMC has spent five years and more than $1 billion on information technology systems to get ahead of the EHR issue. While that is more than five times as much as recent estimates say it should cost a hospital system, UPMC is a mammoth network consisting of 20 hospitals as well as 400 doctors' offices, outpatient sites and long-term care facilities employing about 50,000 people.UPMC's early attempts to create a universal EHR system, such as its ambulatory electronic medical records rolled out between 2000 and 2005, were met with resistance as doctors, staff and other users either avoided using the new technology altogether or clung to individual, disconnected software and systems that UPMC's IT department had implemented over the years. On the mendAlthough UPMC began digitizing some of its records in 1996, the turning point in its efforts came in 2004 with the rollout of its eRecord system across the entire health care network. eRecord now contains more than 3.6 millionelectronic patient records, including images and CT scans, clinical laboratory information, radiology data, and apicture archival and communication system that digitizes images and makes them available on PCs. The EHR system has29,000 users, including more than 5,000 physicians employedby or affiliated with UPMC.If UPMC makes EHR systems look easy, don't be fooled, cautions UPMC chief medical information officer Dan Martich, who says the health care network's IT systems require a "huge, ongoing effort" to ensure that those systems can communicate with one another. One of the main reasons is that UPMC, like many other health care organizations, uses a number ofdifferent vendors for its medical and IT systems, leaving the integration largely up to the IT staff.Since doctors typically do not want to change the waythey work for the sake of a computer system, the success ofan EHR program is dictated not only by the presence of the technology but also by how well the doctors are trained on, and use, the technology. Physicians need to see the benefitsof using EHR systems both persistently and consistently, says Louis Baverso, chief information officer at UPMC's Magee-Women's Hospital. But these benefits might not be obvious at first, he says, adding, "What doctors see in the beginning is that they're losing their ability to work with paper documents, which has been so valuable to them up until now."Opportunities and costsGiven the lack of EHR adoption throughout the healthcare world, there are a lot of opportunities to get thisright (or wrong). Less than 10 percent of U.S. hospitals have adopted electronic medical records even in the most basic way, according to a study authored by Ashish Jha, associate professor of health policy and management at Harvard Schoolof Public Health. Only 1.5 percent have adopted acomprehensive system of electronic records that includes physicians' notes and orders and decision support systemsthat alert doctors of potential drug interactions or other problems that might result from their intended orders.Cost is the primary factor stalling EHR systems, followed by resistance from physicians unwilling to adopt new technologies and a lack of staff with adequate IT expertise, according to Jha. He indicated that a hospital could spend from $20 million to $200 million to implement an electronic record system over several years, depending on the size of the hospital. A typical doctor's office would cost an estimated $50,000 to outfit with an EHR system. The upside of EHR systems is more difficult to quantify. Although some estimates say that hospitals and doctor's offices could save as much as $100 million annually by moving to EHRs, the mere act of implementing the technology guarantees neither cost savings nor improvements in care, Jha said during a Harvard School of Public Health community forum on September 17. Another Harvard study of hospital computerization likewise determined that cutting costs and improving care through health IT as it exists today is "wishful thinking". This study was led by David Himmelstein, associate professor at Harvard Medical School. The cost of getting it wrongThe difference between the projected cost savings and the reality of the situation stems from the fact that the EHR technologies implemented to date have not been designed to save money or improve patient care, says Leonard D'Avolio, associate center director of Biomedical Informatics at theMassachusetts Veterans Epidemiology Research and Information Center (MAVERIC). Instead, EHRs are used to documentindividual patients' conditions, pass this information among clinicians treating those patients, justify financial reimbursement and serve as the legal records of events. This is because, if a health care facility has $1million to spend, its managers are more likely to spend it on an expensive piece of lab equipment than on information technology, D'Avolio says, adding that the investment on lab equipment can be made up by charging patients access to it as a billable service. This is not the case for IT. Also, computers and networks used throughout hospitals and health care facilities are disconnected and often manufactured by different vendors without a standardized way of communicating. "Medical data is difficult to standardize because caring for patients is a complex process," he says. "We need to findsome way of reaching across not just departments but entire hospitals. If you can't measure something, you can't improve it, and without access to this data, you can't measure it."To qualify for a piece of the $19 billion being offered through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), healthcare facilities will have to justify the significanceof their IT investments to ensure they are "meaningful users" of EHRs. The Department of Health and Human Services has yetto define what it considers meaningful useAggregating info to create knowledgeIdeally, in addition to providing doctors with basic information about their patients, databases of vital signs, images, laboratory values, medications, diseases, interventions, and patient demographic information could be mined for new knowledge, D'Avolio says. "With just a few of these databases networked together, the power to improve health care increases exponentially," D'Avolio suggested. "All that is missing is the collective realization thatbetter health care requires access to better information—not automation of the status quo." Down the road, the addition of genomic information, environmental factors and family history to these databases will enable clinicians to begin to realize the potential of personalized medicine, he added.1. In America, it is slow to adopt information technology because —————.A) the funds invested by the government is not enough in the pastB) EHRs have received less attention of the public in the pastC) whether it will be useful to doctors or not is doubtfulD) UPMC knows how difficult it is to digitize the hospital2. The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) —————.A) is the first medical center to adopt information technologyB) satisfy the requirement of the government on information technologyC) spent less money on information technology than it was estimatedD) attempted to created a universal EHR system, but met some difficulties3. The health care network’s IT systems require a lot of effort to ensure it can communicate with one another mainly because —————..A) the integration among different system is largely up to the IT staffB) UPMC is like many other health care organizations in the United StatesC) UPMC makes EHR systems look easyD) UMPC began digitizing some of its records in 19964. The most important reason of most hospitals being reluctant to adopt EHR system is that —————.A) the cost is too high for the hospital to affordB) physicians are unwilling to adopt itC) there is a lack of staff with adequate IT expertiseD) doctor worry about its negative influence on patients6. According to the study led by David Himmelstein through health IT —————.A) it is possible to cut the costs of the hospitalB) it is possible to improve the health careC) it ensure neither cost saving nor improvement in careD) it could save as much as $100 million annually7. The hospital’s managers prefer to —————.A) spend money on an expensive piece of equipment than on information technologyB) charge patients access to the information technology as a billable serviceC) purchase the information technology to improve the health care of the hospitalD) invest more money on the training of the physicians to charge patients more money8. 2. 有的人愿意去农村工作。

3. 你有何选择?Your compositions should be no less than 120 words.作文范文:Where Do you Prefer to Work, in City or in the Country?People have many reasons for working in cities. In the first place, there are more and better jobs with good pay in cities which attract graduates fresh from schools and colleges who are badly in need of money. Not only do city dwellers have better jobs and higher salaries, they, too, have more opportunities to be promoted. Besides, cities also provide more entertainments and other facilities, such as concerts, exhibitions, amusement parks, museums, gymnasiums, theaters, and night-clubs. In a word, city life is more exciting and colorful. Those who would like to work in the country probably think that a quiet, clean working and living environment free frompollution is more important than a well-paid job. They invariably like the fresh air, green lawns, exuberant trees and a peaceful life without tensions and cut-throat competitions.Personally, I am more incline to work in a big city where I can be exposed to both good opportunities and severe competitions. I believe in “the survival of the fittest” and am prepared to meet the challenges of city life.。

2019年12月大学英语六级写作作文范文仿写练习(18)Simple Gestures Of SolaceOffering ComfortSometimes it is difficult to see someone we love struggling, in pain, or hurting. When this happens, we might feel like we need to be proactive and do something to ease their troubles. While others may want our help, it is important to keep in mind that we need to be sensitive to what they truly want in the moment, since it can be all too easy to get carried away and say or do more than is really needed. Allowing ourselves to let go and simply exist in the present with another person may actually provide a greater amount of comfort and support than we could ever imagine.Perhaps we can think back to a time when we were upset and needed a kind word, hug, or listening ear from someone else. As we remember these times, we might think of the gestures of kindness that were the most healing. It may have been gentle words such as “I care about you,” or the soothing presence of someone holding us and not expecting anything that were the most consoling. When we are able to go back to these times it becomes easier for us to keep in mind that giving advice or saying more than is really necessary is not always reassuring. What is truly comforting for another is not having someone try to fix them or their problems, but to just be there for them. Should we begin to feel the urge arise to offer advice or repair a situation, we can take afew deep breaths, let the impulse pass, and bring our attention back to the present. Even though we may want to do more, we do not have to do anything other than this to be a good friend. The more we are attuned to what our loved ones are feeling, the more capable we are of truly giving what is best for them in their hour of need. Keeping things simple helps us give the part of ourselves that is capable of the greatest amount of compassion—open ears and an understanding heart.。

【范文】The Importance of Motivation and Methods in LearningAll university students would like to be successful in learning. Some have achieved their wishes while others haven’t. In my opinion, the secret lies in motivation and methods. On the one hand, motivation is very important in learning. As is well known, motivation can help the students start, maintain and fulfill their learning activities. Those with strong motivation show much enthusiasm for learning and focus on what they learn. On the contrary, those with weak motivation don’t have much interest in learning. Whenever they meet with difficulties, they tend to give up half way. On the other hand, methods are of great importance in learning. As Einstein once pointed out, success results from hard work and correct methods. Good learning methods can help the learners get twice the result with half the effort. Those with good learning methods can reach the other side of success easily while those with poor learning methods will fall into the deep valley of failure. Therefore, if we want to be successful in learning, we must develop strong motivation and develop scientific methods. In this way, we can not only enjoy the sweet fruits of learning but also live a successful and meaningful university life.【参考译文】所有的大学生都想在学业上取得成功。
