Plot Overview

A new neighbour Bingley ($bachelor) instantly became the hunting target of Mrs Banner. • Bingley felt in love at the first sight with the eldest daughter Jane.
• Darcy.Bingley's friend($) • extremly arrogant. • deemed all of Banner's daughters were unquailified to dance with him. However,felt in love with Jane's sister Elizabeth and gruadually changed his attitude.
• Meanwhile Wickham elopes with Lydia ; Darcy traces them and provides for their marriage. • Elisabeth realises that she was mistaken about Darcy and accept his renewed proposal , in spite of the opposition of Lady Catherine de Bourgh, Darcy’s arrogant aunt. • Then Bingley comes back and get engaged with Jane and so the novel ends with the happy marriages of the two couples.

Darcy can't stand for the ignorance of Elizebeth's sisters so he persuaded Bingley not to marry Jane. Being persuaded by his sister and Darcy,Bingley left and headed to London.But Jane still loved him so much.

Marriage was the only path to financial security. • women devoted themselves to attracting a husband. A well-rounded education was not essential, since women would spend their time in the home.
