Mid-autumn Day is a Chinese festival. It comes on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month .On that day we usually eat a big dinner and eat moon cakes. There are many kinds of moon cakes. They are small round cakes with meat, nuts or something sweet inside . Eating moon cakes has been our custom. Families staying outside in the open air have a big dinner and moon cakes. The most important thing is looking at the moon. On that day, the moon looks brighter and rounder. We call this moon the full moon. On that day, families get together, so we call this day Getting –together Day.

During Han dynasty, ther was a person who is called Wu Gang , he was absorbed in how to be a immortal .Therefore the emperor became angry and let him reside in the palace of the moon, made him cut down cinnamon in the palace of the moon , and said: “If you can cut down this cinnamon, I will give you magic”. But every time Wu Gang chops(砍), the axe(斧子) gets away but the tree wound heals right away, Then Wu Gang chops cinnamon day after day ,and can not cuts down the cinnamon in the palace of the moon.
The earth was saved when a strong archer, Hou Yi, succeeded in shooting down 9 of the suns. So he become famous and have his apprentices(徒 弟) .
