A Vacation with My MotherI had an interesting childhood. It was filled with surprise and amusement, all because of my mother---loving, sweet, yet absent-minded and forgetful. One strange family trip we took when I was elven tells a lot about her.My two sets of grandparents lived in Colorado and North Dakota, and my parents decided to spend a few weeks driving to those states and seeing all the sights along the way. As the first day of our trip approached, David, my eight-year-old brother, and I unwillingly said good-bye to all of our friends. Who knew if we would ever see them again? Finally, the moment of our departure arrived, and we loaded suitcases, books, games, camping equipment, and a tent into the car and bravely drove off. We bravely drove off again two hours later after we’d returned home to get the purse and traveler’s checks Mom had forgotten.David and I were always a little nervous when using gas station bathroom if Mom was driving while Dad slept: “Y ou stand outside the door and play lookout (放哨) while I go, and I’ll stand outside the door and play lookout while you go.” I had terrible pictures in my mind: “Honey, where are the kids?” “What?! Oh, Gosh (I)thought they were being awfully quite.” We were never actually left in a strange city, but we were not about to take any chance. On the fourth or fifth night, we had trouble finding a hotel with a vacancy. After driving in vain for some time, Mom suddenly got a great idea: Why didn’t we find a house with a likely-looking backyard and ask if we could set up tent there? David and I became nervous. To our great relief, Dad turned down the idea. Mom never could understand our objections(反对). If a strange family showed up on her front doorstep, Mom would have been delighted. She thinks everyone in the world is as nice as she is. We finally found a vacancy in the next town.

2017 浙江高考英语读后续写读后续写 ((满分25分))On a bright, warm July afternoon, Mac Hollan, a primary school teacher, was cycling from his home to Alaska with his friends. One of his friends had stopped to make a bicycle repair, but they had encouraged Mac to carry on, and they would catch up with him soon. As Mac pedaled(骑行)along alone, he thought fondly of his wife and two young daughters at home. He hoped to show them this beautiful place someday. Then Mac heard quick and loud breathing behind him. “Man, that’s a big dog!” he thought. But when he looked to the side, he saw instantly that it was not a dog at all, but a wolf, quickly catching up with him.Mac’s heart jumped. He found out his can of bear spray. With one hand on the bars, he fired the spray at the wolf. A bright red cloud enveloped the animal, and to Mac’s relief, it fell back, shaking its head. But a minute later, it was by his side again. Then it attacked the back of Mac’s bike, tearing open his tent bag. He fired at the wolf a second time, and again, it fell back only to quickly restart the chase.Mac was pedaling hard now. He waved and yelled at passing cars but was careful not to slow down. He saw a steep uphill climb before him. He knew that once he hit the hill, he’d be easy caught up and the wolf’s t eeth would be tearing into his flesh. At this moment, Paul and Becky were driving their car on their way to Alaska. They did not think much of it when they saw two cyclists repairing their bike on the side of the road. A bit later, they spotted what they, too, assumed was a dog running alongside a man on a bike. As they got closer, they realized that the dog was a wolf. Mac heard a large vehicle behind him. He pulled in front of it as the wolf was catching up fast, just a dozen yards away now.

In November 2017, the Zhejiang province in China held its annual college entrance examination, also known as the Gaokao. One of the subjects tested was English, and students were required to read a passage and write a continuation based on the given content. This task challenged students to not only demonstrate their language proficiency but also their creativity and critical thinking skills. The passage provided a scenario where a group of students were stranded on a deserted island after a shipwreck. The students had to work together to survive and eventually find a way to be rescued. The story was filled with suspense and drama, leaving readers eager to know what would happen next.In my continuation of the story, I envisioned the students facing various challenges on the island, such as finding food and shelter, dealing with conflicts among themselves, and overcoming their fears. I highlighted the importance of teamwork and cooperation, as the students realized that they could only survive and escape the island by working together. As the story unfolded, the students discovered hidden talents and strengths within themselves, which they never knew existed. Some students excelled at hunting for food, while others were skilled at building shelters. Through their shared experiences and hardships, the students formed strong bonds and friendships that would last a lifetime.Despite the difficulties they faced, the students remained resilient and hopeful, never giving up on their dream of being rescued. They learned valuable lessons about perseverance, resilience, and the power of unity. The experience on the island transformed them into stronger, more mature individuals, ready to face whatever challenges life threw their way. Finally, as the students heard the sound of a helicopter approaching the island, signaling their rescue, they felt a mix of emotions – relief, gratitude, and a sense ofaccomplishment. They knew that they had overcome adversity together and emerged victorious. In conclusion, the continuation of the story of the students stranded on a deserted island was a testament to the human spirit and the power of teamwork. It demonstrated that even in the face of adversity, with determination and cooperation, anything is possible. The students' journey on the island was not just a test of survival, but a journey of self-discovery and growth. And as they boarded the helicopter and flew towards safety, they knew that they were forever changed by their unforgettable experience.。

As the final year students in Zhejiang province were sitting in the exam hall, they were nervous yet determined to do their best in the English section of the college entrance exam. The reading comprehension portion was particularly challenging, with a passage about the impact of technology on society. In the passage, the author discussed the pros and cons of technological advancements in modern society. Theyhighlighted how technology has brought about convenience and efficiency in various aspects of life, such as communication, transportation, and healthcare. On the other hand, the author also pointed out the potential negative effects of over-reliance on technology, such as social isolation, loss of privacy, and job displacement caused by automation. After reading the passage, the students were asked to write a continuation of the passage, expressing their own views on the topic. Many students took a moment to gather their thoughts before starting to write. Some argued that the benefits of technology far outweighed the drawbacks, citing examples of how it has improved their lives and the lives of those around them. Others, however, expressed concerns about the negative consequences of technological advancement, and emphasized the importance of finding a balance between embracing progress and preserving traditional values. One student, in particular, took a different approach and proposed potential solutions to mitigate the harmful effects of technology. They suggested that society should prioritize education and training in the face of automation, and that regulations should be put in place to protect individuals' privacy in the digital age.As the students finished their essays and handed in their papers, a sense of relief and accomplishment filled the air. They knew that they had done their best to articulate their thoughts and opinions on a thought-provoking topic. Regardless of their individual perspectives, one thing was clear - the impact of technology on society is a complex and multi-faceted issue that requires careful consideration and ongoing discussion.。

1Title: The Mysterious IslandIt was a crisp November morning in Zhejiang, China. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a warm golden glow over the small island in the East China Sea. This island had always been shrouded in mystery, with tales of hidden treasure and ancient legends making it a popular destination for adventurous travelers.A group of friends, including Jane, Tom, and Michael, had decided to explore the island. They had heard stories of a hidden cave that was said to hold incredible riches, and they were determined to find it. As they made their way through the dense jungle, they couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. After hours of searching, they stumbled upon a small clearing that contained a large stone with strange symbols etched into its surface. Excitedly, they began to decipher the markings, which led them to a hidden entrance to the cave.As they entered the cave, they were greeted by a dazzling display of sparkling jewels and glittering gold. It was like nothing they had ever seen before. But their joy quickly turned to fear as they heard a low growling coming from the shadows.Suddenly, a massive dragon emerged from the darkness, its scales gleaming in the dim light of the cave. The friends were frozen in terror, unsure of what to do. But then, a voice rang out from the depths of the cave."Welcome, brave travelers," the voice said. "I am the guardian of this treasure, and only those who are pure of heart may claim it."Realizing that they had nothing to fear, the friends approached the dragon, who bowed its head and allowed them to take as much treasure as they could carry. With their pockets full of gold and jewels, they thanked the dragon and made their way back to the mainland. As they sailed away from the island, they knew that they would always remember their adventure and the mysterious island that had brought them such fortune. And they also knew that they had learned a valuable lesson: sometimes, the greatest treasures are found not in gold and jewels, but in the courage and friendship that we share with those we love.篇2Title: A Memorable Experience in ZhejiangIt was November 2017 when I had the opportunity to visit Zhejiang, a beautiful province in China. The trip was a part of a cultural exchange program, and little did I know that it would turn out to be one of the most memorable experiences of my life.As I arrived in Zhejiang, I was greeted by the warm hospitality of the locals. They welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home. I was amazed by the natural beauty of the province - the picturesque mountains, the serene lakes, and the lush greenery everywhere. It was truly a sight to behold.During my stay in Zhejiang, I had the chance to visit several ancient towns and temples. One of the most impressive places I visited was Wuzhen, a water town with a history dating back over 1,300 years. The traditional architecture, the cobblestone streets, and the tranquil canals all added to the charm of this place. I also visited the Lingyin Temple, a renowned Buddhist temple nestled in the mountains. The peaceful atmosphere and the intricate carvings on the walls left me in awe.Apart from exploring the cultural heritage of Zhejiang, I also got to taste some of the most delicious local cuisine. Fromsteamed dumplings to braised pork belly, every dish was a culinary delight. The flavors were so rich and varied, reflecting the diversity of the province. But what truly made my trip to Zhejiang unforgettable was the people I met along the way. I made friends with locals who shared with me their stories, their traditions, and their way of life. It was heartwarming to see how despite our differences in language and culture, we could still connect on a human level. In conclusion, my visit to Zhejiang in November 2017 was a life-changing experience. It opened my eyes to a new world, filled with beauty, history, and kindness. I will always cherish the memories I made in Zhejiang, and I hope to return someday to relive those moments once again.篇3Title: A Memorable November in ZhejiangNovember is always a special month in Zhejiang, with its colorful autumn scenery and various cultural events. In 2017, one particular event that stood out was the International Literary Festival held in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang province. The festival brought together writers, poets, and literary enthusiasts from all over the world to celebrate the beauty ofwords and stories. I had the privilege of attending the festival, and it was an unforgettable experience. The venue was a beautiful old theater that added to the charm and magic of the event. The festival kicked off with a keynote speech by a renowned author from France, who spoke about the importance of literature in today's world. His words were inspiring and thought-provoking, setting the tone for the rest of the festival. There were panel discussions, book signings, and readings by authors from different countries, showcasing the diversity and richness of literature. One of the highlights of the festival was a poetry recital by a young Chinese poet who mesmerized the audience with her powerful words and evocative imagery. Her performance was a reminder of the beauty and power of poetry to touch hearts and souls.Apart from the literary festival, November in Zhejiang also offered opportunities to explore the natural beauty of the province. I took a trip to the picturesque West Lake in Hangzhou, where the autumn leaves were ablaze with colors. The serene lake, dotted with ancient pagodas and weeping willows, was a sight to behold. In addition to the cultural and natural attractions, November in Zhejiang also provided a glimpse into the local traditions and customs. I had the chance to participate in a tea ceremony, where I learned about the art of brewing and savoring tea. The peaceful ambiance and delicate flavors of the tea made for a memorable experience.Overall, November in Zhejiang was a month of discovery and enrichment. From the literary festival to the natural beauty of West Lake, the province offered a perfect blend of culture, nature, and tradition. It was a time to be inspired, to reflect, and to appreciate the wonders of life. I left Zhejiang with a heart full of memories and a renewed love for this enchanting province.。

He hoped to show them this beautiful place someday. Then Mac heard q uick and loud breathing behind him. He knew thatonce he hit the hill, he’d be easy caught up and the wolf’s teeth would be tearing into his flesh. At this moment, Paul and Becky were driving their car on their way to Alaska. They did not think much of it when they saw two cyclist repairing their bike on the side of the road. A bit later, they spotted what they, too, assumed was a dog running alongside a man on a bike. As they got closer, they realized that the dog was a wolf. Mac heard a large vehicle behind him. He pulled in front of it as the wolf was catching up fast, just a dozen yards away now.Paragraph 1:The car abruptly stopped in front of him.Paragraph 2:A few minutes later, the other two cyclists arrived.Paragraph 1:The car abruptly stopped in front of him.Seeing the car stop, Mac jumped off his bicycle immediately and rushed to the door of the car. So frightened was he that he hardly said a whole sentence, but stammered, “the wolf ……, please let me in.”Seeing the wolf running towards the car, Paul opened the door without any hesitation, pulling Mac into the car. Three men in the car were staring out of the window and saw the wolf standing there, thinking how to fight back the wolf.Paragraph 2:A few minutes later, the other two cyclists arrived. About a hundred meters away, the two men stopped and realized what had happened to their friend. Being aware of the wolf’s cruelty and not to startle the wolf, they were determined to stay where they were and attempted to think out an idea. Suddenly, one of the cyclists touched the food bad which they brought. A good idea occurred to him that they could lead the wolf to the forest by throwing their beef and pock away. Smelling the flavor of the meat, the wolf turned around and ran alongside the meat. The two cyclists u-turned in a crossroads. What comforted the two cyclists was that Mac did not get injured. “Thank you for stopping to save me, said Mac to Paul and Becky. Mac and his two friends decided to go back home in case they would run into the wolf again.。

A Vacation with My MotherI had an interesting childhood. It was filled with surprises and amusements , all because of mymother―loving, mother―loving, sweet sweet, and yet absent-minded and forgetful. One strange family trip we took when I was eleventells a lot about her.My two sets of grandparents lived in Colorado and NorthDakota Dakota,, andmy parents decided to spend a few weeks driving to those states and seeing all the sights along the way. As the first day of our trip approached , David , myeight-year-old brother , and I unwillingly said good-byeto all of our friends. Who knew if we’d ever see them again again?? Finally , the moment of our departure arrived arrived,,and we loaded suitcases , books , games , camping equipment ,and a tent into the car and bravely drove off. We bravely drove off again two hours later after we’d returned hometo get the purse and traveler’s checks Mom had forgotten.David and I were always a little nervous when using gasstation bathrooms if Mom was driving while Dad slept slept:: “Youstand outside the door and play lookout (放哨)(放哨) while I while I go go,, and I’ll stand outside the door and play lookout whileyou go.” I had terrible pictures in my mind: “Honey, where are the kids kids?” ?” “What?! Oh , Gosh… I thought theywere being awfully q uiet.” We were never actually left behind in a strange city , but we weren’t about to take any chances. On the fourth or fifth night , we had trouble finding a hotel with a vacancy. After driving in vain for some time time,,Mom suddenly got a great idea idea:: Why d idn’t we find a housewith a likely-looking backyard and ask if we could set up tent there ? David and I became nervous. To our great relief relief,, Dad turned down the idea. Mom never could understand our objections (反(反??Γ?. And when we came back back,,Dad and Mom had already lain on the grass comfortably in front of the tent tent,, talkingmerrily with a local boy at our age age,, whoalways cast a glimpse at this tent curiously. Soon we learnt that the boy in rags even didn’t have a home to live. Of course course,,Mom “forgot” to take this tent with us again. We drove through several states and saw lotsof great sights along the way. And we also had a nice time living with my grandparents during that vacation. But whatimpressed me most was that tent , which was forgottendeliberately by Mom. Title: A Journey to Remember - A Continuation of the Reading Passage from Zhejiang November 2017As I stepped off the bus onto the dusty road, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement building inside me. The small village of Dali was like something out of a storybook, with its quaint houses and cobbled streets. I could hear the sound of children laughing and playing in the distance, and the smell of freshly baked bread wafted through the air.I made my way through the winding streets, taking in the sights and sounds of the village. The locals greeted me warmly, offering me food and drink as I passed by. I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for their hospitality. As I continued on my journey, I came across a group of children playing in a field. They waved excitedly at me, calling out greetings in broken English. I smiled and waved back, feeling a sense of connection with these young souls.I sat down on a nearby bench, watching the children play. They were carefree and full of life, their laughter filling the air. I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia for my own childhood, when the world seemed so simple and full of possibilities. As the sun began to set, I made my way back to the bus stop. The sky was painted in shades of pink and orange, casting a warm glow over the village. I knew that this journey would stay with me forever, a reminder of the beauty and kindness that can be found in even the most unexpected of places. And as the bus pulled away, taking me back to the hustle and bustle of the city, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the experience I had just had. Dali may have been a small village, but it had left a big impression on my heart.。

One weekend in July, Jane and her husband, Tom, had driven three hours to camp overnight by a lake in the forest. Unfortunately, on the way an unpleasant subject came up and they started to quarrel. By the time they reached the lake, Jane was so angry that she said to Tom. “I'm going to find a better spot for us to camp" and walked away. With no path to follow,Jane just walked on for quite a long time. After she had climbed to a high place. she turned around, hoping to see the lake. To her surprise, she saw nothing but forest and, far beyond, a snowcapped mountain top. She suddenly realized that she was lost.“Tom! "she cried. "Help!"No reply. If only she had not left her mobile phone in that bag with Tom. Jane kept moving, but the farther she walked, the more confused she became. As night was beginning to fall, Jane was so tired that she had to stop for the night. Lying awake in the dark, Jane wanted very much to be with Tom and her family. She wanted to hold him and tell him how much she loved him.Jane rose at the break of day, hungry and thirsty. She could hear water trickling (滴落)somewhere at a distance. Quickly she followed the sound to a stream. To her great joy,she also saw some berry bushes. She drank and ate a few berries. Never in her life had she tasted anything better. Feeling stronger now. Jane began to walk along the stream and hope it would lead her to the lake.As she picked her way carefully along the stream, Jane heard a helicopter. Is that for me? Unfortunately, the trees made it impossible for people to see her from above. A few minutes later, another helicopter flew overhead. Jane took off her yellow blouse, thinking that she should go to an open area and flag them if they came back again.注意:1.所续写短文的词数应为150左右;2.应使用5个以上短文文中标有下划线的关键词语:3.续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;4.续写完成后,请用下划线标出你所使用的关键词语。
