教学过程中要注重对英语的感知和模仿，通过大量的活动使学生积累感性认识，为以后学习奠定基础。教学中要强调语音、语调的规范和语感的形成，不讲解语法知识，单词拼写和句子结构。如①语音的教学，不要直接教语音知识，不要过分强调单音，应放在恰当的语调中练习，可利用韵律诗、绕口令等较强的节奏感让学生感受语言的语调，增强对英语的语感体验。②单词、句子的教学应采取整体学习的方法，坚持在一定的语境中学习新单词、新句子。新句子强调要整句学，整句用，这样有利于学生对句子的整体理解，也有利于学生掌握如何恰当使用。
3、英语教学要“泛而杂”，不必“少而精”。
