Dear Miss Li,
I’d like to thank you for sending money to “Animal Helpers”, an organization(组织) set up to help disabled people. You see, you have helped make it possible for me to have “Lucky”, who has filled my life with pleasure and joy. Let me tell you my story.
Being blind, deaf, unable to walk or use your hands easily is something that most people can hardly imagine. But there are many people who have to face the challenges, and I am among them. Because I can’t use my arms or legs well, normal things like answering the phone, opening and shutting doors or carrying things have always been difficult for me. Then one day last year, a friend of mine said that she would like to help me out. She said she would talk to “Animal helpers”to see if it would be possible for me to get a trained dog. I told her I love animals and I’d love to have a dog.
After six-month training with a dog at “Animal helpers”, I was able to bring him home. My dog’s name is “Lucky”—a good name for him because I feel very lucky to have him. You see, I am only able t have a “dog-helper”because of your kind donation(捐赠)!
How does Lucky help me, you may ask? Well, he has been trained to understand different instructions. For example, I say, “Lucky, get my book,”and he does it at once. He is very clever and understand many English words, even some difficult ones like “upstairs”. Lucky is an amazing dog. I’ll send you a photo of him if you like, and I could show you how he helps me too one day. And so I thank you for supporting “Animal helpers”. It is very important that this organization doesn't run without money. And the money is well used to help disabled people like me.
Best wishes,
Liz Smith

India is next door to China. Besides curry (咖喱) and the Taj Mahal (泰姬陵), and what else do you know about this country?
Chinese President Hu Jintao is going to visit India from November 20 to 23. He will start
free trade (贸易) talks with Indian leaders. He hopes his trip will bring the two countries closer. China and India are both developing Asian countries so they have a lot in common. They can learn a lot from each other. Both are big countries with several languages, different kinds of food and different climates (气候). They have a lot of farmers and are among the fastest growing countries in the world. Even the two countries' economies (经济) work well together. For example, in computer business, China is strong in hardware while India is strong in software. China's computer hardware factories developed fast. Big computer companies like IBM and Intel are busy building factories in China. The Indian software business has been growing very fast since the 1990s. Today, India sells software and services to nearly 95 countries around the world. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao once said that if China and India helped each other, they "could lead the world's IT industry into an 'Asian century.'" In the coming years, China and India have some problems to solve. Both of them have large populations. China has 1.3 billion people and India has 1 billion. That's one third of the world's population. With so many people, the two countries need to "keep growing fast to provide jobs for tens of millions of people every year," said an economy expert.
