GEA WFI 水分配器说明书
PHARMA AND BIOPHARMARequirements profile for WFI pumpsREQUIREMENTS PROFILE FORWFI PUMPSWhen it comes to pumping sensitive media with low, medium or high viscosity GEA positive displacement pumps are the right choice for hygienic processes in the food, beverage or pharma industry. Why?1. The mediaWater is not only the stuff that all life on our planet has developed from. Water also covers 3/4 of our earth’s surface and is the most important element for man, animals and nature. The water that occurs in nature is more or less strongly contaminated with germs, depending on it source. Our potable water must be prepared as well to be used as a basis for pharmaceutical solutions, buffers, detergents, sol-vents in biotechnology and medical technology – e.g. for dialysis, parenteral medicines and infusion solutions. This highly pure water according to DAB 10 (aqua ad injectabilia) or water for injection (WFI) is produced of potable water or purified water. It must be free of pyrogens and sterile with a germ threshold of < 10 KBE/ml. Based on conventional distillation, there are several process steps today that will eventually lead to a quality correspond-ing to highly pure water. Selection of the materials, line routing and control technology, sterilization and CIP capacity of the components used – such as pipes, fittings and pumps – and the construction features of the plant components are very import-ant for ensuring a pharmaceutical facility’s quality.2. The requirements profilePumps for use in highly-pure water facilities (WFI), plant in the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnolo-gy and sterile process technology are subject to different laws and higher safety standards around the world. In spite of being simple to operate, they must offer the highest biological safety and must not have any negative influence on sensitive prod-ucts due to unfavorable hydraulics. In the European area, the “DIN EN 12462 biotechnology” specified performance criteria for pumps, the first specific definitions for cleaning and sterilization capacity, leakage tightness, materials and their surfaces, as well as constructional details regarding the CIP/SIP capacity of pumps. Specifically, the surface roughness of the special steel used in pumps is dealt with here and the electrochemical final treat-ment is emphasized as an optimal prerequisite for a smooth and low-particle surface. Design details such as the length-to-width ratio of gaps, are de-fined at < 1.5 and the ratio of length to diameter for dead spaces is indicated at < 2. This standard draft also names the test to be applied to certi-fy the cleanability of plant components for sterile processes. These are largely in compliance with the test method created by EHEDG. Further proof that the basic rules of hygiene-compatible design have been observed and cleanability of the com-ponents has been achieved was developed by the specialist department “Sterile process engineering in VDMA” together with the Chair of Apparatus and Plant Design at the TU Munich/Freising Weihen-stephan.3. The hygienic designMain criteria for cleanability of pumps include the cleaning-compatible construction, gap-free design of all inner parts and avoidance of dead spaces un-der observation of the ratio of length to diameter, which should be between 1 and 2. This applies, among others, to the sealing space of the slide ring packing and the arrangement, application and siz-ing of the residual emptying by diaphragm valve. The surface topography of the materials used is also integrated into the criteria for cleanability in terms of the physical properties and possible habitats for germs. The stainless steel centrifu-gal pumps of the GEA Hilge HYGIA and GEA Hilge CONTRA series meet these requirements in full in terms of cleanability (cleaning-in-place), steril-izability (SIP) and design. This also applies to the materials used and their surface properties, which2Pharma & Biopharmabecome the European standard for the area of pharmaceutics and biotechnology according to DIN EN 12462. The CIP-capable and sterilizable shaft seals are freely placed in the product space and have an o-ring seal against the housing cov-er and the impeller arranged according to hygienic design. This sterile sealing construction is avail-able in single-acting and double-acting tandem arrangement, flushed pressure-free. GEA has de-veloped a special solution for particularly sensitive applications: A double-acting slide ring packing in tandem design that can be operated with an over-laid pressure. This gasket particularly innovatively combines the benefits of “real” back-to-back slide ring packing with the requirements that sterile ap-plications pose in particular to slide ring packing: Cleanability, sterilizability and no dead spaces. The housing gasket is inserted gap-free accord-ing to the criteria of sterile technology. All gasket parts and the materials used are FDA-compliant. The stainless steel pumps of the GEA Hilge HYGIA series in the power range of up to 110 m3/h and delivery heads of up to 70 mFls as well as the GEA Hilge CONTRA series in the power range of up to 40 m3/h and delivery heads of up to 160 mFls were also tested for their cleaning capacity and accept-ed according to the provisions of the European Hy-gienic Equipment Design Group (EHEDG).This examination was conducted by the interna-tionally renowned research center Weihenstephan of TU Munich. The test result not only confirmed that the pumps can be cleaned without residue by cleaning-in-place, but that, in contrast to the reference tube, no residual contamination could be documented anymore either. This perfectly en-sures safety of a sterile process control. 4. The GEA Hilge CONTRA seriesIn addition to the GEA Hilge HYGIA series, the in-novative single- and multiple-stage pump series GEA Hilge CONTRA has been developed based on the criteria for Qualified Hygienic Design (QHD). This new pump series is executed according to the corporate philosophy using high-quality Cr-Ni-Mo materials of low-carbon quality 1.4404 or 1.4435 (316L) only. In addition to deep-drawn material for the deflector stages, the impellers, pressure pieces and suction covers use forged materials of the same quality. The impellers and guide vanes of the deflector stages are designed openly. The housings and impellers in the multi-stage pumps are sealed, among others, by an o-ring seal in ac-cordance with the criteria of Hygienic Design, gap-free with defined application pressure and with a metal stop. This ensures absolute cleaning capac-ity and sterilization in CIP/SIP processes and, as a result, safety for the user and operator of a system with sterile process control. In accordance with the high quality standard, the forged impellers have milled contours for optimal efficiency as well as very good NPSH values and smooth running. The entire construction, including the inner sterile mechanical seal (the pump is also available with a double-acting gasket arrange-ment), exclusively conforms to the criteria of Qual-ified Hygienic Design (GMP, FDA) and is also certi-fied to these criteria. Due to this fact and because of use of perfectly pore- and cavity-free materials of Cr-Ni-Mo steel (316L), the pump is outstanding-ly suitable for use in the pharmaceutical industry, medical technology and in process facilities of bio-technology. Special fields of applications result in the area of highly pure water transport (WFI) and in facilities for production of parenteral medicinesand infusion solutions.LeftFigure 1GEA Hilge HYGIAcasing with DrainvalveRightFigure 2Section of GEA HilgeCONTRA (5-stage)3The designs In addition to the classical block design and the pump design on a base plate with load carrier, integration of the GEA Hilge CONTRA series with the Adapta block is of great interest. This Adapta-block connects the pump to any IEC standard motor or Nema motor for the US market without use of a stub shaft, but with an elastic, short serial coupling. This ensures simple maintenance and permits removal of the motor without disas-sembly of the pump. Subsequent costs are minimized and the wet part of the pump can be left in the system (validation). Another criterion in the area of aseptic processes is the ability of completely draining the pumps. This draining capacity is largely achieved with a diaphragm valve at the bottom-most location of the housing.Since this option is not a perfect technical solution in mul-tiple-Since this option is not a perfect technical solution in multiple- stage pumps, the GEA Hilge CONTRA is offered in a vertical in perfect condition for this application. The vertical installation guarantees for absolute residual emptying via the suction socket. To ensure residue-free discharge of the liq-uid from the pump, all product-contacting components have been applied with the corresponding radii and inclinations, in-cluding the eccentric pressure piece. The vertical installation additionally saves space within a system, with the Adapta de-sign offering the additional benefit of leaving the entire pump in the system when dismantling or assembling the motor. This is a benefit not only for aseptic processes, in which, howev-er, additional sterilization cycles and validations that may be-come necessary if the pump is opened or dismantled can be dispensed with. The materials In addition to the requirements profile of the design according to hygienic criteria, the selection of materials is particularly decisive for quality and safety in process control in the area of the pharmaceutical industry. Thus, the sterile pumps of the GEA Hilge HYGIA and GEA Hilge CONTRA series use only stainless Cr-Ni-Mo special steels in the low carbon rolled steel quality 316L. The product-contacting surfaces are mechani-cally ground, polished and electrochemically finished accord-ing to the surface standard of the defined sterile class. In par-ticular, the process of electro-polishing is decisive for sterile technology, since a surface that has only been mechanically polished with its sharp peaks and valleys is predestined for hiding contaminants. In addition to this, the sharp peaks neg-atively influence the passive layer built up on the special steel that is responsible for the corrosion resistance. It may even be interrupted, which may impair the material resilience against the highly pure water. Electro-polishing levels out such peaks and removes them until a much smoother, more corrosion re-sistant and low-particle surface results.Figure 4GEA Hilge CONTRA series in the vertical Adapta design4Pharma & BiopharmaThe sterile pumps of the GEA Hilge HYGIA and GEA Hilge CONTRA series are available in the following surface/sterile standards and materials, with the surface roughness being defined in accordance with ISO 468 and DIN EN 12462 for biotechnology.Figure 5 Milled impeller,Rₐ ≤ 0.4 µm Surface roughness RₐMaterial Impeller, weldseams≤ 0.8 µm 1.4404/1.4435Impeller casted≤ 0.8 µm 1.4404/1.4435Weldseams ground, impeller milled≤ 0.8 µm 1.4435 Fe < 1 %Weldseams ground, impeller milled≤ 0.4 µm 1.4435 Fe < 1 %Weldseams ground, impeller milled5Ferrite content/“rouge”Corrosion-resistance of the smooth material sur-face and influence of the ferrite content play a de-cisive role due to the high aggressiveness of the highly pure water used in pharmaceutical produc-tion. Systems with highly pure water show color-ations that range from green to yellow and red and are defined as iron oxide (rust) in analysis. These discolorations and partial deposits are summarized under the term “rouge”. Some examinations clear-ly indicate the possible influence of the ∂-ferrite share, which leads to a lower expected corrosion resistance above a 1 % ferrite content in any case. Although Cr-Ni-Mo-steel materials according to the Schaeffler diagram are clearly in the austenitic area, in particular Cr-Ni-Mo cast steel has ferritic sections due to fine phases with high iron and low chrome contents. The occurrence of this ∂-ferrite share is due to the process by which the special steel melt freezes, in which ferritic contents oc-cur in addition to the primary austenitic textures. This ferritic content then leads to the development of rust in highly pure water such as WFI that only contains dissolved CO₂ – with all other analysis values below the evidence threshold. The colloi-dal …rust“ (ferritic oxide) may reduce the quality of highly pure water until it drops below the USI quality standards and is rendered useless for phar-maceutics and biotechnology. This “rouge” phe-nomenon can cover entire sections of tanks, pump and plant components that have a ferrite share in excess of 5 % according to the current scientific insights (among others in the USA) rather than complying with the quality of “low carbon” rolled steel of 316L with defined ferrite contents in WFI systems. There are some welding and processing procedures to supply e.g. pumps in materials suchas 1.4435 with a ferrite content of 1 % and to also Figure 6GEA Hilge HYGIA with drain6Pharma & Biopharmakeep the standardized material AISI 316L (1.4404) at a ferrite content far below 5 % after processing and the corresponding pre-selection. Of course, processing of the materials and aftertreatment as well as final cleaning (passivation) of the system before commissioning are important for the occur-rence of “rouge” in addition to selection of the right material. The fight against “rouge” by permanent passivation of entire plant components (a common process today in many companies of the pharma-ceutical industry) is effective as well, but consti-tutes a very expensive solution. Only the conse-quences of partially unsuitable plant and materials design are targeted here, rather than removing the causes described. It seems urgently advisable to start on a different approach here. The gasketsAll static and dynamic gaskets have been chosen according to the requirements of their hygienic fit-ting and design, as well as in light of resilience, CIP and SIP capacities, and to meet the requirements profile of FDA conformity:• S tatic gaskets: EPDM with FDA conformity. Options: FKM, FEPM and FFKM also with FDA conformity• D ynamic gasket: Single-acting certified sterile slide ring packing Option: Double-acting gas-ket arrangement with internal or external flush-ing or blocking water supply Material pairs: Silicon carbide/silicon carbide, FDA compliant Cr-Ni-Mo steelThe connectionsThe pumps are designed in such a way that all com-mercially available sterile connections according to DIN, ASME or ISO and customer-specific versions can be integrated. The following connections are intended by default:• S terile thread according to DIN 11864-1• Sterile flanges according to DIN 11864-2• C lamp connection according to DIN (e.g. DIN 11864-3), ASME or ISO• Tri ClampDocumentationDocumentation is an important part for validation and FDA approval of a pharmaceutical system. GEA supplies the following option for the sterile pumps of the GEA Hilge HYGIA and GEA Hilge CONTRA series as a certified operation purs. to DIN ISO 9001 for the specified standards:• T est report/acceptance minutes according to DIN EN 10204, 2.2• M aterial certificate according to DIN EN 10204, 3.1• F DA declaration of conformity for the gasket materials and other materials used • Measuring record surface roughness• Measuring record ferrite content• EHEDG test certificate• 3-A certificate• F urther inspections and certificates are avail-able on request. The pump as an integral control component in the WFI system process:The VE or WFI water system poses different re-quirements to the pump due to process-related situations. The pump design must consider the maximum acceptance quantities plus minimum flow in the reverse run. The resulting conveying quantity forms the basis for calculation of the pow-er demand of the pump. The conventional centrif-ugal pump works over-dimensioned across long distances. This is the case particularly for cases like “request of partial volumes” or “only recircula-tion”, e.g. during weekend operation. This hydrau-lic partial load operation will emit a larger share of the available energy to the product as heat. This energy form is removed again in part via the cool-ers – but this solution is process-technically par-adox and not economically sensible. It is much more elegant to avoid unnecessary heat input. Us-ing frequency converters between the pump and the supply grid adjusts the speed and therefore the performance of the pump smoothly. Pressure or quantity-dependent control circuits supply any demand with the corresponding pump output. Re-quests in WFI loops with few demand differences may partially be solved via fixed frequencies (with-out actual value sensor). The speeds from this are determined empirically, saved in the converter’s memory and then selected digitally. Use of fre-quency converters permits free definition of the delivery head H and the displacement volume Q of a pump. Running over the common grid frequen-cy clearly improves efficiency of the pump at small volume demands. The cost benefit by use of small-er pumps exceeds the extra costs of a frequen-cy converter. Recent developments in the power electronics sector make it possible to merge the components frequency converter and electric mo-tor. Without any change to the procurement costs for frequency converters, integrated versions are preferable due to the lower connection effort and space requirement (no control cabinet needed). The relocation of intelligence from the control cabinet into the field is described in the chapter on “decentralized peripherals”. Field bus systems connect individual subscribers and permit access to functions and data from one control level. The pump with integrated frequency converter is pre-pared for decentralized use and becomes a trans-parent actuator in the WFI loop. It determines a comfortable and economically efficient process.7。

The synchronisation accuracy of volumetric dividers is signifi cantly higher than that of oil fl ow divider solutions.Construction typeMZB m ulti-chamber v olumetric d ividers d iffer f rom M LH linear stroke volumetric dividers only in terms of their construction. In principle a multi-chamber volumetric divider consists of a line of cylinders, whose pistons are attached sequentially to one continuous piston rod. T he number o f c hambers e quates t o t he n umber o f c ylinders they are required to operate. Each of these operating cylinders that are driven by the MZB must be of equal dimensions. Preference is given to double acting orsynchronous cylinders. Single acting cylinders may be possible d epending o n t he p articular c onstruction t ype. Telescopic cylinders are not suitable. The volume of oil per chamber is specifi ed as being approximately 10% higher than the volume of the operating cylinder.Method of operationAll the MZB’s inputs are channelled through one line. One MZB output is connected to each operating cylin-der. When the volumetric divider is driven the volume of oil is forced simultaneously into all operating cylin-ders. The volume of oil only travels between the MZB and the operating cylinders. It is possible to change the oil when required using the B29 manifold as later described.Synchronous operationThe aim is perfect synchronisation and this is achievedto a ll i ntents a nd p urposes w hen t he o perating c ylinders are subject to the same load. This is preconditioned on the absence of air bubbles in the oil fl owing between the MZB and the operating cylinders.Inaccuracies only result from differences in the toleran-ces of the cylinder components and the possibility of the cylinder seals used containing seepage oil. Due to these potential sources of error it is not possible to claim 100% synchronous operation, yet the variance from the optimum value is hardly detectable in practice. However, consideration must be given to one error that is caused by compression of the oil when the operating cylinders are subject to quite different loads. A pressure variance of 10 bar between two operating cylinders results in a difference in travel of approx. 0.07%. If the pressure is equal in the operating cylinders, the compression that occurs in the oil columns has no effect on the synchronous operation. It is only when unequal loads cause different pressures in the indivi-dual operating cylinders that a compression related synchronisation error occurs. This error also remains the same during the stroke, since the fi xed volume does not change. If, for example, the load distribution becomes more uniform during the stroke, this error is reduced accordingly.ApplicationMulti-chamber volumetric dividers are used primarily for:• Precise stroke mechanisms with small oil fl ows • Stroke mechanisms with the least oscillation and vi-bration possible (e.g. theatre stages, cylinder raising in the print industry and in heavy machinery).• Tipping equipmentDimensionsMulti-chamber volumetric dividers can be manufactu-red with up to 12 chambers. For the standard versions the potential volume per chamber is between 150 cm 3 and 65.000 cm 3.The current limitation in terms of length is 6000 mm and a total weight of 2000 kg.DesignThe multi-chamber volumetric dividers are designed so that the number of chambers equates to the number of operating cylinders. They are confi gured according to the maximum oil velocity between the multi-chamber volumetric divider and the operating cylinders. The distance the multi-chamber volumetric divider needs to travel and consequently the volume of oil per chamber is based on the volume of oil required by the operating cylinders. The specifi cation is that the volume of oil in the multi-chamber volumetric divider is 10 to 15% higher than this so as to ensure that the operating cylinders are always able to travel to their end limit p osition a nd a c ompensatory ‘reset’ i s n ot n ecessary after each stroke. It is important to note the minimum travel for each particular version. It is not a disadvantage to have a larger chamber vo-lume than that which is necessary for the operating cylinders.Piston rod on both sidesIf requested multi-chamber volumetric dividers can be supplied w ith p iston r ods e xtending f rom b oth s ides (e.g. to be used to activate direction control valves). DMSMulti-chamber volumetric dividers can be supplied op-tionally with adjustable proximity sensors in a special protective casing. They come as standard with 2 switch points for minimum and maximum travel. Additional switch points can be supplied. The minimum distance between switch points is 38 mm. It is also possible to supply a v ersion w here o ne s witch p oint c an b e s witched by two proximity sensors independently of each other. In this version a smaller distance between the switch points is possible than is the case for the standard ver-sion. The proximity sensors are supplied with an open or close function.Position measuring systemsMulti-chamber volumetric dividers can be supplied on request with various position measuring systems. Hydraulic fl uidsAs a rule HL and HLP hydraulic oils are used for which NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) seals are fitted. For other hydraulic fluids (HFC, H FD o r b io-degradable fl uids) o ther sealing materials (such as FKM) may be necessary. W hen making an enquiry it is necessary to state the hydraulic fl uid that will be used.Mounting positionThe preferred mounting position is horizontal.SpeedWith the use of low friction cylinder seals it is possible to operate the MZB extremely slowly. Stick/slip free movement is possible even with very small oil fl ows. The maximum oil fl ows are given in the tables for the respective versions.Operating noiseAs is usual cylinders produce hardly any noise when in operation. Due to the absence of vibration or oscillation the multi-chamber volumetric divider can be employed successfully precisely in applications where such side effects are unacceptable (e.g. hospitals, theatre stages, etc.)ConnectionsSince the applications generally use minimal oil fl ows, it was possible to design the connections to be relatively small. Larger threaded or SAE connections can be sup-plied on request. However this version does affect the width of the intermediate fl ange and therefore also the overall length.Pressure dropPressure drops only occur when seals are impinged on both sides. At 5-7 bar, depending on respective size, these are signifi cantly lower than is the case with radial piston oil fl ow dividers and gear oil fl ow dividers.Page 4H Y D R A U L I K www.jah ns-h ydraulik.deB29 ManifoldFor multi-chamber volumetric dividers it is important to use a manifold that enables the following functions:• the equipment to be fi lled when commissioning • pressures between multi-chamber volumetric divi-der and the operating cylinders to be assured • any loss of oil to be compensated ‘reset‘• the oil to be changedThe B29 manifold consists of an input manifold and one segment for each chamber of the multi-chamber volumetric divider. The input manifold is fi tted with a pressure reducing valve and a 4/2 directional control valve. Each segment is equipped with a pressure limit valve for a maximum of 140 litres/min., a non-return valve, electrically switchable 2/2 directional control valve as well as a G1/4” test port. The pressure limit valves in the B29 manifold are responsible for assuring the pressures between the multi-chamber volumetric divider and the operating cylinders. They do not enable a end limit position compensation as it is the case for radial piston flow dividers (MTO, HTO, MT-GM, MTL and STL).The input manifold can be supplied with NG-6 or with NG 10 valves. The larger valves make it possible to fi ll or replace the oil between the multi-chamber volumetric divider and the operating cylinders more quickly. The user connects the manifold to the multi-chamber volumetric divider externally using a pipe connection. The B29 manifold is a further advance on the previous versions B26, B27 and B28.When using proprietary manifolds it is essential to ensure that the pressures between the multi-chamber volumetric divider and the operating cylinders meet the maximum pressure values of the multi-chamber volumetric divider at the given volumetric fl ow rate. StorageDry, dust and frost free storage must be ensured. It is also necessary to avoid any ingress of contamination. To prevent corrosion during longer term storage it is recommended that the volumetric divider is fi lled with oil. Exposed parts (e.g. piston rod) must be greased.InstallationWhen installing the multi-chamber volumetric divider maximum cleanliness must be ensured. The end caps in the connections should only be removed immedia-tely before fi tting the threaded fi ttings. Pipes must be free of dirt and swarf. When the connecting pipes have been welded it is essential that any scaling is comple-tely removed before installation. Where possible the pipes should be dipped. The cylinder connections are designed for all readily available screw fi ttings with a cutting edge.In addition it is essential that the volumetric divider installation is stress-free and also that unacceptable la-teral forces do not occur when it operates. These could result in the guide and sealing components suffering premature wear which may lead to failure of the volu-metric divider.CommissioningBefore connecting the multi-chamber volumetric di-vider it is necessary to fl ush through the pipe system. Information (with wiring diagram) on how to fi ll and evacuate air from the multi-chamber volumetric divi-der in conjunction with the manifolds is provided from page 18 onwards.MaintenanceThe simple design of the multi-chamber volumetric divider ensures very reliable operation combined with minimum maintenance that is limited mainly to a pe-riodic control of any potential leakage losses. It is essential to check that the oil is clean with respect to the p ressure l imit a nd n on-return v alves. S warf m ay o ften be present in the system particularly when at the time it is fi rst started. Having successfully fi lled the system, it should operate synchronously. If it does not, it will be necessary to check the above valves for particulate.Page 5H Y D R A U L I K www.jah ns-h ydraulik.dePage 6H Y D R A U L I Kwww.jah ns-h
