We believe the legal defects in school bulling is the primary reason. We have to let those bullies know “If you hurt someone, we won’t tolerate it. And school bullying is not only a joke.”
Different countries hold different views to handle School bullying . American law punish the bully severely without mercy. Western countries can’t stand verbal and physical abuse. The subject of bullying in criminal law convicted of felony in America. If it caused serious consequences, even under the age of 18, it can be used as adult criminal cases.

Chinese National Students Bullying Case
On Feb. 17, the sentence of “Chinese National Students Bullying Case” which Chinese netizens focus on was announced. Defendant Zhai Yunyao was sentenced to 13 years in state prison, while her co-defendant Zhang Xinlei was given a six year prison sentence. The third defendant, Yang Yuhan, was sentenced to 10 years in state prison.
As far as China is concerned, treatment of bully, education is held essential with punishment as a supplement. In most cases, even if the school authorities and the police stepped in, the punishment of the bully is often much lighter. They usually do it privately through compensation. This perhaps the reason why domestic bullying case repeated. Criticism or education is not enough to deal with bullying, law is also needed.

• In China, most of school bullying cases are not up to the standard of the crime. Emotional bullying, verbal bullying and cyber bullying could destroy a victim's life. But the majority of those bullies are legally guiltless and they're cost free. In this situation, those bullies have convinced them they can act without punishment.

Two days later, Zhai, Zhang and Yang kidnapped an 18-year-old girl from Honeymee in Rowland Heights and took her to Rowland Heights Country Park. While at the park, the victim was stripped naked and repeatedly beaten, spat on, punched, kicked and burned with cigarettes in an assault that lasted over five hours. Zhang provided scissors to cut the victim’s hair, which she was then forced to eat.
They tortured her, Slapped her with slippers, forced her to dance. After that they shot video and sent it to others. If she refused, they will beat her up after lights out. So cruel but the bullies are only deserved serious warnings and given demerit. Compared with the above-mentioned America’s case, bullies, you should be glad you're not in America. Throughout those two cases, we think to deal with bullying, education and law is equally important.
The local media said, “It’s rare in the US criminal case.” We could find that these atrocities are common in Chinese school bullying. But the bullies are seldom punished by law enforcement. Many cases of bullying are settled among parents and schools. Apparently, the punishment such as warning and demerit recording from school is not effective enough. The crime cost of bullies is too low. Law can’t be a “bystander” in school bullying case. Legal punishment is as important as education.
