Culture
Thai language is one of the best symbols of Thai culture.
The Thai alphabet was invented by King Ramkamheng the Great in 1283 inspired by the ancient Indian alphabets and Pali languages through the medium of the old Khmer character. ราชอาณาจกั รไทย Kingdom of Thailand

National Flag
The flag shows five horizontal stripes in the colours red, white, blue, white and red, with the middle blue stripe being twice as wide as each of the other four.
Red stands for the nation and the power and devotion of the people.
White represents the purity of the religionBuddhism.
Blue symbolizes the royalty.

Thailand has a relatively diversified export-oriented economy that grew rapidly in the latter part of the twentieth century until the crash of 1997.
National Emblem
The national emblem features the Garuda.
In Thailand, this figure is used as a symbol of the royal family and authority.
The Garuda also features in the coat of arms of Indonesia and the city of Ulan Bator (the capital of Mongolia).
Thailand is composed of four main regions.
The northern mountainous region contains numerous ruins and temples, the ancient city of Chieng Mai (清 迈), and Thailand’s highest peak, Doi Inthanon (茵他农山 ).
Present
Today Thailand has a population of 54 million people, the vast majority of whom are of Thai ethnicity.
Significant minorities of Chinese, Malay, Khmer, Mons, and various hill tribes also reside in Thailand, in addition to tens of thousands of refugees in border camps from the more troubled countries of Southeast Asia.
Manufacturing and tourism led its growth, but agriculture continued to play an important role — employing over 60 percent of the workforce.

The country remains a major producer and exporter of agricultural products, including rice, rubber, and tapioca (木 薯).
Location
Thailand, is a constitutional monarchy in Southeast Asia, bordered by Myanmar to the northwest, by Laos to the northeast, by Cambodia and the Gulf of Thailand to the southeast, by Malaysia to the south, and by the Andaman Sea (安达曼海) to the southwest.
Religion
Buddhism is the dominant religion in Thailand, although a variety of tribal religions continue to be practiced.
Thailand's currency is called the baht.
