题目(Topic):Some people believe that the best way to solve environmental problems is to increase the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles. Others think that there are better ways to achieve this goal. What is your opinion? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. (English Version):In my opinion, increasing the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles is an effective way to address environmental problems. Higher fuel prices can encourage people to use public transportation, carpool, or even consider alternative methods of commuting, which can significantly reduce carbon emissions and alleviate environmental damage.Firstly, raising the cost of fuel makes public transportation a more appealing option. When fuel prices are high, people are more likely to choose buses, trains, or subways for their daily commute. This increased usage of public transportation not only reduces traffic congestion but also decreases the overall carbon footprint of a community.Secondly, higher fuel prices can promote carpooling among commuters. Carpooling allows multiple individuals to share a ride in onevehicle, thereby reducing the number of cars on the road. Fewer cars mean less pollution and reduced consumption of fossil fuels, leading to a healthier environment.Additionally, expensive fuel can drive innovation and adoption of eco-friendly vehicles, such as electric cars and hybrids. As fuel prices rise, the demand for fuel-efficient and electric vehicles increases, prompting automobile manufacturers to invest more in environmentally friendly technologies. This shift towards cleaner transportation options is crucialin combating environmental problems caused by traditionalgasoline-powered vehicles.

Some people prefer to live in a big city, while others prefer to live in a small town. Which do you prefer and why?范文:Well, for me, I definitely prefer to live in a big city. You know, big cities are like a huge playground full of all kinds of fun stuff. First of all, there are tons of job opportunities. It's like a buffet of careers. Whether you're into high tech, fashion, or finance, you can always find something that suits you. For example, in my hometown which is a small town, there are only a few basic jobs like working in a local store or being a farmer. But in a big city, there are big companies with cool offices and high paying jobs waiting for you. Also, big cities are entertainment paradises. There are so many concerts, theaters, and clubs. I'm a huge music fan, and in a big city, I can see my favorite bands live all the time. It's like living in a non stop party. In a small town, the most exciting thing might be a local fair oncea year. That's just too boring for me.And don't even get me started on the food. Big cities have restaurants from all over the world. You can have Italian pizza one day, Japanese sushi the next, and then some spicy Mexican tacos. In a small town, you mightonly have the same old local dishes day in and day out. So, yeah, big city life is where it's at for me.。

People now are less happy and less satisfied than people in the past.No matter where we are and what we are doing, it is not difficult for us to feel the rapid development of modern economy and technology. The high speed of technology development does bring us convenience in many aspects. However, some people insist that people now are less happy and lee satisfied than people in the past, because the world is changing so fast. I strongly disagree with the statement. In my opinion, our life is easier and more efficient than the past owing to the development of science and technology. Take me for example, I am sitting in my cozy dormitory and writing an essay now, and I am typing what I want to say through the computer keyboard to a Microsoft Word file instead of putting them down on a piece of traditional paper. So I can keep my easy in electronic way, and then bring it with me everywhere and print it out whenever I want. It is obvious that what I am doing now is very convenient and can not be done in the past without the application of computer science. So our life has been changed into a quick and efficient way with the help of science and technology.Besides, our daily life has become more comfortable and convenient thanks to the quick development in society and science. For instance, we can get the place we want to with the assistance of the modern transportation system, which including bus, subway, train, ship, or airplane. And we can keep in tough with our relatives and friends with the support of the convenient communication system, such as mobile phones or chatting software, which is time-saving than traditional ways and we can even see each other no matter how far the distance is. Sometimes we can also do shopping at home with the help of the Internet, and we just order what we want and our purchase will come to us in a few days. What we can see from the examples I have listed is that our life really becomes different because of the social and scientific improvement.Although the quickly changing world may bring with the high pressure, its advantages overweigh its drawbacks. So I do not think people now are less happy and satisfied than the past. Maybe you can ask someone if he or she would like to come back to the old days, just see what his or her answer will be.。

托福写作话题满分范文(优选5篇)Business should hire employees for their entire lives. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. In some business cultures, it is the practice to hire workers when they are young and employ them until they retire. In other business cultures companies hire people to do a job and then fire them when they are not needed. To me, the important considerations in today’s economy is job performance: speed and change. Loyalty is not a consideration.Today there is a lot of competition and we need to hire workers who can perform a task well. We need to find skilled workers who can do a job without a lot of training. We need to match the job to the worker, and, if the job changes, we change the worker.Because of this increased competition, we need to be able to produce our goods or services quickly. We need young people who are willing to put in long hours. We need young people who are aggressive and will push themselves to do their job faster. In order to compete, we have to be innovative. By changing our workforce frequently, we can bring in new ideas. We must constantly be looking for new ways to do new things. We need fresh workers with fresh points of view.Although a company’s loyalty to a worker and a workers loyalty to acompany is a noble idea, it is not practical today. Skilled workers do not want to be tied down to one company; they want the flexibility to improve their opportunities. Change makes the economy powerful. There are many people want to go to university or college every year and they decide to do so formany different reasons. I believe there are three common reasons are to prepare for career, increase their knowledge and get new experience.Prepare for career is very important for young people nowadays. In a competitive society, if theyhave not a good educational background, they will not get a good opportunity in their career oreven cannot find a job, so college and university can provide them new skills to meet therequirements of career. Also, students attend to university or college can increase their knowledge in subjects theyinterested, for many people, this is maybe the primary reason to go to college. There are manyexcellent professors and experts can give us a plenty of knowledge which including many areas. For many people this maybe their last chance for a long time to get knowledge that don't relate totheir career.Besides looking for knowledge, some people want to go to college or university because theydecide to live a new life. University can support young people an environment where they canintercommunicate about many topics such as literature, goal of life, art and emotions whicharehard to talked about after their university lives, so it is a special experience for young people tolive and study in college or university. All in a word, I prefer increase knowledge and get a special experience to prepare for career inuniversity because getting good opportunities in career is partly depend on your knowledge andexperiences on diverse areas. Now days, more and more people are trying to attend college or university. Different people do sofor different reasons. Some typical reasons are new experiences, career preparation and increasedknowledge. In my opinion, it is the fast developement, almost explosion, of our world that makepeople to consider attending college or university.People would usually get bored when they focus on one field for a long time. For this reason, theygo to college to pursue experiences in new areas. We often hear that an electrical engineer wentto a university to study art or music. With the new experiences, they expand their ken. Maybesome good ideas would jump out during their daily work.As for the young, they attend college for career preparation. Not only could they get knowledgeneeded for their future work, they could learn how to think and how to solve questions. Theprojects students attended are very like their future work. Some people, who have been graduated from universities for years, are also planning to go back toschool. Most of them reattend universities to increase their knowledge. Techlogy is developing sofast that people could not keep up with them unless they keep increasing their knowledge. All in all, people, who attend college or university, are preparing for their better futures.。

(1)Which one do you prefer, to solve problems on your own experience and knowledge, or to ask others for advice? As knowledge and experience serve as twim towers in problem-solving, one is often presented with two major paths that pave the way for final fulfillment, eitther to wrack his brain, just like what happened to Neuton, siiting for many years under an apple tree and eventually figuring out ond of the greatest universal rules that govern the whole globe, or to seek for others’ widsom through their advice, just as in the case of Benjinin Franklin, gathering great minds under one roof and then establishing a most world-renown libray. Both ways work. When a practical goal is involved, however, Benjimin Franklin may best be regareded as a role model in this respect and asking people for advice often turn out to be the prime alternative.Experience and knowledge borrowed or learned from others’ advice contribute greatly to effectiveness and effeciency for a goal-accomplishment. Not all experience and knowledge related to problem-solving can be obtained by personal effort alone due to limitations of mind and capabilities of each individual. A single thought in someone’s mind is, more often than not, far less shining compared with group’s wisdom. That explains the famous old saying that one sees further when standing upon the shoulders’ of past great giants; that explains why a great leader is always with greater minds; that also explains why teamwork in corperation is highly emphasized in the 21st century. Brainstorm and exchange of ideas between different thoughts never fail to enhance capabilities of each individula involved, a team, a company, an institution, a country, or even the entire global village.Asking others’ advice instead of getting everything done on one’s own promotes democracy and communication too. In terms of democracy, it is necessary to give others rights and chances to speak since the problem may concern them in different ways, and their saying in turn reflects our respect toward freedom of speech as well as their wisdom. In terms of communication, idea exchange sometimes focuses more than solutions, and hereby better mutual understanding about perspectives, principles, praticalities and personalities of each other.Admittely turning to others for help and suggestion by no means refers to absolute and irresponsible dependence. Consideration upon different thoughts and ideas broadens our mind, enlarges our vision, furthers understanding, enhances more effective and efficient brainstorm, and stresses mutual respect in groups and communities, which undoubtedly gives rise to better, if not the best solutions. As is paraphrased from John F Kenedy, brainstormed, there is little we cannot do while divided, there is little we can do. (2)Case of Benjinin Franklin, gathering great minds under one roof and then establishing a most world-renown libray. Others live in different towns and cities. Which do you think is beterr? Give reasons for your answer. After they complete their univerrsity studies, some students preferr to live in their hometowns while others choose to live in different towns or cities. Everybody has his own reasons for his preference. After my graduation, I will go back and live in my home city. I have made this decision because of the following reasons.Firstly, my home city is a big city that can offer a lot. There are plenty of opportunities for work, many big libraries for studies, several differrent musiums for visit, and numerous cinemas, theaters and centers for entertainment. When I go back there, I will have no difficulty in finding a job suitable for me and I can make use of all the facilities available there.Secondly, if I go back to my home city, I can look after my parents. I take this into consideration because I am their only child and they are now weak and getting on in age. If I live in the same city with them, I can visit them very often and help them whenever it is necessary.Thirdly, if I live in my home city, I will have a lot of friends, schoolmates and relatives to visit and to turn to for help when I need. Of course, I could get acquainted with many people and make many friends if I were to go to live in a strange place, but that takes time. If I go back to my home city, everybody will be waiting for me and I will be able to settle down comfortably without any trouble and waste of time.In short, my choise is based on a careful consideration of my home city and my family. I think it is a better or sensible choice; in a certain sense, it is a must.Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualities of a good neighbor? Use specific details and examples in your answer. (4)If you have a good neighbor, you are a lucky person. You have someone who cares about your needs and your property, who is helpful in the little day-to-day situations that come up, and who is supportive in times of crisis.A good neighbor is someone who, for instance, understands that your children may occasionally run across his lawn,- even though you tell them not to. He'll realize that children can be careless about things like that, and he won't make a big fuss about it unless it becomes a regular thing. In the same vein, he knows that you'll understand if some of the trash from his trash cans blows across into your yard. In other words, he is sensitive to the unintentional things that can happen. He doesn't make a big deal about them.A good neighbor is also respectful of your property. For example, she asks your permission before doing anything that interferes with what's yours. This means she wouldn't plant a huge tree in between your houses without asking how you felt about it. If she wanted to put up a fence, she would let you know first. She might work with you to decide where it should be placed. Maybe the two of you would even split the cost.A good neighbor would lend you some milk if you ran out. She'd give you a ride to work if your car was broken, and let your children stay at her house in the evening if you got stuck working overtime. You would do the same for her. Both of you would help make the other's life easier. When something really awful happens to you, like a death in the family, a good neighbor will volunteer to help in any way he can. This could mean something small, like making some casseroles to put in your freezer to feed visiting relatives. Or it could mean something big, like helping you get through the sadness of the funeral.I think only someone who has experienced a bad neighbor can really appreciate a good one!A good neighbor can be a good friend. He or she can make all the difference in the world to your life. (5)Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants. Other people prefer to prepare and eat food at home. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and esamples to support your answer. Some people like to eat out at food stands and restaurants, while others like to prepare food at home. Often it depends on the kind of lifestyle people have. Those with very busy jobs outside the house don’t always have time to cook. They like the convenience of eating out. Overall, though, it is cheaper and healthier to eat at home. While eating in restaurants is fast, the money you spend can add up. When I have dinner at a restaurant with a friend, the bill is usually over twenty dollars. I can buy a lot of groceries with that much money. Even lunch at a fast-food stand usually costs five or six dollars for one person. That’s enough to feed the whole family at home.Eating at home is better for you, too. Meals at restaurants are often high in fat and calories, and they serve big plates of food-much more food-than you need to eat at one meal. If you cook food at home, you have more control over the ingredients. You can use margarine instead of butter on your potatoes, or not put so much cheese on top of your pizza. At home, you can control yourportion size. You can serve yourself as little as you want. In a restaurant, you may eat a full plate of food "because you paid for it."It’s true that eating out is convenient. You don’t have to shop, or cook, or clean up. But real home cooking doesn’t have to take up a lot of time. There are lots of simple meals that don’t take long to make. In fact, they’re faster than eating out, especially if you think of the time you spend driving to a restaurant, parking, waiting for a table,, waiting for service, and driving home. Both eating at restaurants and cooking at home can be satisfying. Both can taste good and be enjoyed with family and friends. I prefer cooking at home because of the money and health issues, but people will make the choice that fits their lifestyle best. It has recently been announced that a new movie theater may be built in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.A New Movie TheaterEntertainment is an important part of everyone’s life. We all need to take time to relax insgroupsto live healthy lives and do our work efficiently. It is easier to relax when an appropriate form of entertainment is convenient and close by. Therefore, I would support a proposal to build a new movie theater in my neighborhood.Entertainment places can bring some disadvantages to a community such as increased traffic and noise, but I believe the advantages of a new movie theater would outweigh these concerns. For one thing, the people in my neighborhood would save time. When they wanted to see a movie they could simply walk to the new theater rather than spend time traveling by bus or car. In addition, it would be safer for children to visit a nearby movie theater rather than one in some other part of the city. And finally, a new theater might attract other businesses, such as restaurants and coffee shops, where the people of my neighborhood could go to relax. In short, a new movie theater in the neighborhood would increase the number of entertainment options for the residents. They could enjoy themselves more easily without spending a lot of time traveling to another part of the city. For these reasons I would support the building of a movie theater in my neighborhood.

Task:It has been said, “Not everything that is learned is contained in books.” Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?. We all crave knowledge, especially in this Age of Information, but what is the best source of knowledge? Are we to believe Albert Camus, who stated” The place we are to get knowledge is in books”? Or are we better served by following Albert Einstein's counsel that “The only source of knowledge is experience”? Although books have their place in one's learning, there is no substitute for experience; indeed, it is experience that is ultimately the most important source of knowledge.First, let us consider the knowledge needed to undertake a profession-for example, that of a physician. Knowledge gained from books provides the foundation of a doctor's training: study in a medical school begins with a near-overload of reading on anatomy, physiology and maladies both rare and common. However, during this time the medical student is also learning through experience, beginning with dissecting cadavers from almost the first day of medical school. Then, the aspiring physician must complete four years of residency, consisting of actual supervised experience at a hospital in which he or she now must put into practice all of the knowledge he or she has edge of dealing with patients, prescribing medication, and the joy and sadness of saving and losing patients; in other words, it is through experience that these residents finally learn what it means to be a doctor. What about knowledge other than professional expertise-for example, knowledge about another culture? In this realm as well, both books and real-life experience enrich and edify us. For example, Paris is perhaps the most talked-about and written-about city in the world. We could read Hemingway's A Moveable Feast, in which he describes the excitement and intellectual spirit-as well as the restaurants and plentiful red wine-of Paris in the 1920's. Or, we could travel to Paris and eat at bistros, walk across the Pont Neuf and look at the river Seine, visit the Louvre museum, and have adventures of our own. Clearly, most people would have attained more lasting and vivid knowledge by visiting Paris on their own rather than reading about it secondhand. In summary, experience, rather than books, is more central to our quest for learning, especially with regard to professional expertise. With regard to learning about another culture, experience is also irreplaceable. Yet not everyone in the world will have the health or financial resources to carry out a trip to Paris. But many people have access to a local library where they can borrow A Moveable Feast and, at no cost, read Hemingway's vibrant descriptions of Paris. We cannot forget the complementary and unique knowledge afforded by books, but experience is the most precious source of knowledge. Some people say that computers have made life easier and more convenient. Other people saythat computers have made life more complex and stressful. What is your opinion? Use specificreasons and examples to support your answer. Some universities require students to choose a variety of subjects; others only require students tospecialize in one subject. I deem the first one as the premier choice. Among countless factors, there are three conspicuous aspects as follows. The main reason for my propensity that students should take classes in many subjects is that theycan make full use of the abundant resources that a university has to offer. A university has plentyof educational and research resources. It is a very good idea to make full use of these valuableassets while studying in the university. The best way to achieve this is to take a variety of subjectsas much as possible. Through learning these courses, a student can get access to knowledge andresources in different areas. On the contrary, if a student only specializes in one subject, he willnot have a chance to get access to other resources offered by the university.Another reason can be seen by every person is that by choosing many subjects students can broaden their knowledge and make a solid foundation for their future concentrated study. Whatever the student will concentrate on in his senior years in college, it is necessary that hechoose a wide range of subjects to build the knowledge foundation. Take the field of BusinessManagement for example, the student has to acquire knowledge in writing, accounting, economicsand human resource management before he can successfully start his major concentration argument I support in the first paragraph is also in a position of advantage because studentscan be more adaptable in their future career if they choose a variety of subjects during theiruniversity study. It is obvious that the development of modern society requires people with inter-disciplinary and comprehensive knowledge. If a student chooses a variety of subjects in hisuniversity study, and gained a breath and width of knowledge, he will be more adaptable to therequirement of the society, and be able to easily adjust to many kinds of jobs. This will benefit hisfuture career. In a word, taking into account of all these factors, we may reach the conclusion that studentsshould take classes in many subjects in a university. In 1990, new rules and guidelines were adopted in the United Kingdom that has changed the whole field of Archaeology in that country. The new guidelines improved the situation in all there areas discussed in the passage.First, the new guidelines state that before any construction project can start, the construction site has to be examined by archaeologists to see whether the site is of archaeological interest or value. If the site is of archaeological interest, the next step is for the builders, archaeologists and local government officials to get together and make a plan for preserving the archaeological artifacts, either by building around them or by excavating and documenting them properly before the construction is allowed to proceed.Second, an important part of the new guidelines is a rule that any archaeological work done on the construction site will be paid for by the construction company not by the government. The construction company has to pay for the initial examination of the site, and then for all the work carried out under the preservation plan. This is a whole new source of financial support. The funding from construction companies has allowed researchers to study a far greater range of archaeological sites than they could in the past.Last, the new guidelines provide a lot of paid work for archaeologists, work that didn’t exist before. Expert archaeologists are now hired at all stages of the process to examine the site for archaeological value, then to help draw up the preservation plan to do the research in a professional scientific manner and finally to process the date and write reports and articles. The increased job and career opportunities in Archaeology have increased the number of professional archaeologists in Britain, which is now the highest it’s ever been. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The best way to travel is in a group ledby a tour guide. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. There are a lot of views whether the best way to travel is in a group led by a tour guide. Differentpeople has different viewpoint. In my opinion, a group led by a tour guide is the best way totravel. The argument for this view goes as follows:In the first place, there are many advantages when people travel in a group. First, people will notfeel boring in a long trip. People can talk, laugh and make joking like a big family. Second, thegroup will help you a lot when you have any emergency. The people in the group could help youfigure out the awkward situation that will be unimaginable when you travel alone. Third, with thegroup discount, such as the discount for airplane ticket, the hotel, and the admission ticket, travelers can save a lot of money when they use the group discount. In the second place, there are many advantages too when people travel led by a tour guide. Thetour guide will arrange all the details about the trip in advance. The traveler need not worry aboutwhere to find the hotel, where to rent the car, and how to find the direction. It will make the trip a little bit easy. Another advantage is that led by a tour guide will save much time than travelingalone. With the professional knowledge, tour guide will make the smartest schedule. I wouldnever forget that one of my friend, a city tour guide in the Shanghai, China, said that she can leadtraveler to visit the whole city by one day which people should spend two or three days to finishit. In conclusion, there are many advantages when people travels in a group led by a tour guide, suchas save money, save time, do not feel boring, and is easy to take care of. Therefore, I stronglyagree that the best way to travel is in a group led by a tour guide.。

Do you prefer to study in a group or study alone? Well, you know, I'm more into studying alone. Here's the deal. When I study alone, I can really focus on my own rhythm. I don't have to worry about others' pace. For example, if I'm trying to figure out a super tough math problem, I can just take my time, think deeply without any interruption. And I can also be as weird as I want. I might talk to myself, make funny faces when I finally understand a concept. But in a group, it's often a mess. There are always some people chatting off topic, or somemight be too bossy and want to lead the whole study session in their own way. So, yeah, for me, studying alone is the way to go.
The university is planning to build a new cafeteria. Which ofthe following do you think is the most important feature? 1. Having a wide variety of food. 2. Having a large dining area. 3. Having affordable prices. Oh, man, this is a tough one. But if I have to choose, I'd say having affordable prices is the most crucial. Look, as a student, most ofus are on a tight budget. We can't afford to splurge on food every day. I mean, who wants to be broke just because they had a meal? Sure, a wide variety of food sounds great. You can try different things. And a large dining area? Well, it's nice to have space. But if the prices are sky high, it doesn't matter how much variety there is or how big the place is. Idon't want to have to choose between paying my tuition and having a decent meal. So, affordable prices should be the top priority for the new cafeteria. The university is considering a new policy called "Green Campus Initiative." The aim is to reduce energy consumption on campus. One way to do this is to install solar panels on the rooftops of campus buildings. This can generate electricity from sunlight, which can be used to power lights, computers, and other electrical devices in the buildings. The man in the conversation supports the idea. He says that currently, the electricity bill of the university is really high. By using solar panels, they can save a lot of money in the long run. Also, it's good for the environment. He mentions that he has seen other campuses doing this and they have become much more environmentally friendly. He also says that students can learn from this. They can see how clean energy works and it might inspire them to be more environmentally conscious in their own lives. So, there's this "Green Campus Initiative" about installing solar panels on campus buildings. And the guy in the conversation is allfor it. I'm with him too. First off, the money thing. The university spends a fortune on electricity. With solar panels, they can cut down on those costs big time. It's like, instead of pouring money into the power company's pockets, they can use it for other cool stuff on campus, like improving the library or getting new equipment for the labs. And thenthere's the environmental part. It's so important these days. We need to be more green. If our campus does this, it can be a role model. Students will see the solar panels every day and think, "Hey, that's a great way to save energy." It might even make them more aware of their own energy usinghabits. So, overall, this "Green Campus Initiative" with the solar panelsis a really good idea. The professor is talking about a concept called "co sleeping" in animals. Co sleeping is when animals sleep together in groups. There aretwo main benefits. One is protection. For example, meerkats live in groups and sleep together. When they sleep, there are always some meerkats on guard. If a predator comes, the guards can alert the others, and they canall run away together. So, by sleeping together, they increase their chances of survival. Another benefit is warmth. Small animals like mice, in cold winters, will huddle together when they sleep. Their body heat combines, and they can keep warm. This way, they can survive in harshwinter conditions. So, the professor was talking about this really interestingthing called "co sleeping" in animals. It's basically when animals snooze together in groups. And there are some really cool reasons for it. First, there's protection. Take meerkats, for instance. They're all cuddled up together when they sleep. But not all of them are just sleeping soundly. There are some meerkats on lookout duty. So, if some big bad predator shows up, those guards can be like, "Hey, everyone, wake up! Danger!" And thenall the meerkats can skedaddle together. That's way better than sleeping alone and being an easy target. Then there's the warmth factor. Little mice in the cold winter, they're like, "Brr, it's freezing." So, what do they do? They all huddle up together when they sleep. Their body heat gets all mixed together, and they can stay nice and warm. It's like they're having alittle furry friend powered heater. So, "co sleeping" is a super smart survival strategy for animals.。

(1)Which one do you prefer, to solve problems on your own experience and knowledge, or to ask others for advice?范文:As knowledge and experience serve as twin towers in problem-solving, one is often presented with two major paths that pave the way for final fulfillment, either to wrack his brain, just like what happened to Newton, siting for many years under an apple tree and eventually figuring out ond of the greatest universal rules that govern the whole globe, or to seek for o thers’ wisdom through their advice, just as in the case of Benjamin Franklin, gathering great minds under one roof and then establishing a most world-renown libray. Both ways work. When a practical goal is involved, however, Benjamin Franklin may best be regarded as a role model in this respect and asking people for advice often turn out to be the prime alternative.Experience and knowledge borrowed or learned from others’advice contribute greatly to effectiveness and efficiency for a goal-accomplishment. Not all experience and knowledge related to problem-solving can be obtained by personal effort alone due to limitations of mind and capabilities of each individual. A single thought in someone’s mind is, more often than not, far less shining comparedwit h group’s wisdom. That explains the famous old saying that one sees further when standing upon the shoulders’ of past great giants; that explains why a great leader is always with greater minds; that also explains why teamwork in cooperation is highly emphasized in the 21st century. Brainstorm and exchange of ideas between different thoughts never fail to enhance capabilities of each individual involved, a team, a company, an institution, a country, or even the entire global village.Asking others’advice instead of getting everything done on one’s own promotes democracy and communication too. In terms of democracy, it is necessary to give others rights and chances to speak since the problem may concern them in different ways, and their saying in turn reflects our respect toward freedom of speech as well as their wisdom. In terms of communication, idea exchange sometimes focuses more than solutions, and hereby better mutual understanding about perspectives, principles, practicalities and personalities of each other.Admittedly turning to others for help and suggestion by no means refers to absolute and irresponsible dependence. Consideration upon different thoughts and ideas broadens our mind, enlarges our vision, furthers understanding, enhances more effective and efficient brainstorm, and stresses mutual respect in groups and communities, which undoubtedly gives rise to better, if not the best solutions. As is paraphrased from John F Kenedy, brainstormed, there is little we cannotdo while divided, there is little we can do.(2)After they complete their university studies, some students live in their hometowns. Others live in different towns and cities. Which do you think is better? Give reasons for your answer.范文:After they complete their university studies, some students prefer to live in their hometowns while others choose to live in different towns or cities. Everybody has his own reasons for his preference. After my graduation, I will go back and live in my home city. I have made this decision because of the following reasons.Firstly, my home city is a big city that can offer a lot. There are plenty of opportunities for work, many big libraries for studies, several different museums for visit, and numerous cinemas, theaters and centers for entertainment. When I go back there, I will have no difficulty in finding a job suitable for me and I can make use of all the facilities available there. Secondly, if I go back to my home city, I can look after my parents. If I go back to my home city, everybody will be waiting for me and I will be able to settle down comfortably without any trouble and waste of time.In short, my choice is based on a careful consideration of my home city and my family. I think it is a better or sensible choice; in a certain sense, it is a must.(3)Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualities of a good neighbor? Use specific details and examples in your answer.范文:If you have a good neighbor, you are a lucky person. You have someone who cares about your needs and your property, who is helpful in the little day-to-day situations that come up, and who is supportive in times of crisis.A good neighbor is someone who, for instance, understands that your children may occasionally run across his lawn,- even though you tell them not to. He'll realize that children can be careless about things like that, and he won't make a big fuss about it unless it becomes a regularthing. Or it could mean something big, like helping you get through the sadness of the funeral.I think only someone who has experienced a bad neighbor can really appreciate a good one! A good neighbor can be a good friend. He or shecan make all the difference in the world to your life.(4)Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants. Other people prefer to prepare and eat food at home. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.范文:Some people like to eat out at food stands and restaurants, while others like to prepare food at home. At home, you can control your portion size. You can serve yourself as little as you want. In a restaurant, you may eat a full plate of food "because you paid for it."It’s true that eating out is convenient. You don’t have to shop, or cook, or clean up. But real home cooking does not have to take up a lot of time. I prefer cooking at home because of the money and health issues, but people will make the choice that fits their lifestyle best.(5)题目:It has recently been announced that a new movie theater may be built in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.范文:A New Movie TheaterEntertainment is an important part of everyone’s life. We all need to take time to relax insgroupsto live healthy lives and do our workefficiently.

Some people think zoos are cruel and all the zoos should be closed. However, some people think zoos are useful to protect the rare animals. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Currently, the discussion about whether to close zoos is becoming popular. Some people proclaim that zoos are cruel and all should be closed, on the other hand, towards the same issue, some others are confident that zoos are useful to protect rare animals. It is quite natural that people from different backgrounds may have divergentattitudes towards it.People, who advocate that caging animals in zoos are cruel and therefore all of them should be closed, have their sound reasons. The main reason is that keeping animals in captivity goes against animal rights. In addition, man should not believe that he has the disposable power of treating other species. Moreover, it will give bad influences to animals evolution if we keep them in cages for their whole life and they will lose the ability of seeking food themselves. To begin with, caged animals may lose their natural instinct to seek food, to protect them against natural predators, and to solicit breeding partners. Accordingly, this will lead to a miserable life that they are compelled to accept, rather than willingly to lead. In addition, because bared animals are carefree, they would again lose their in-born abilities that would otherwise enable them to survive and thrive at a natural habitat. Consequently, even when they are freed after being kept in cage for some time they will probably drop the ability to undergo a natural evolution. There is no denying that there is some truth in the above point of view. However, to some peoples mind, it is useful to protect rare animals of using zoos. Above all, although man is the dominant species on the planet, all species enjoy the same right to survive here, we should respect other life forms by taking every effort we can to prevent the extinction of existing species. For another, zoos are suitable habitats for some species which are on the verge of dying out due to hunting. Finally, in fact, farming animals is much less brutal than the pain and hardship that animals inflict on each other in the wild.To sum up, we cannot deny that both sides arewell-grounded. In my opinion, the best way is building natural protect area to replace zoos. Then, we can protect every species no matter they are in extinction, and children can see the vivid life to expand their knowledge, also can keep the ability of animals of seeking food. If there are more natural protect areas, that will be the perfect way for our sustainable development. Ambition is an important characteristic of people. How important is it for people to make success in life? Is it a positive or negative characteristic for success?

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: It is more important for students to study history and literature than it is for them to study science and mathematics?I strongly agree with the statement that studying history and literature is more important for students than studying science and mathematics. While science and mathematics are undoubtedly valuable subjects, history and literature provide students with a well-rounded education that fosters critical thinking, cultural understanding, and communication skills.History allows students to learn from the past, understand the evolution of societies, and gain insights into the consequences of human actions. Literature, on the other hand, exposes students to diverse perspectives, fosters empathy, and enhances language skills. While science and mathematics are essential for technological advancements, history and literature provide the ethical and cultural context necessary for responsible innovation. Therefore, a balanced curriculum that includes history and literature is vital for developing informed and well-rounded individuals.2. Some people believe that technology has made children less creative than they were in the past. Do you agree or disagree?I disagree with the notion that technology has made children less creative. While technology has introduced new forms of entertainment and learning, it has also provided opportunities for creativity and innovation.Technology enables children to engage in various creative activities. They can create digital art, compose music using software, and even design video games.Additionally, access to information and diverse perspectives through the internet can inspire creativity and expand their horizons. Moreover, technology often requires problem-solving and critical thinking skills, which are fundamental to creativity. Children who use technology to solve puzzles, code, or explore scientific concepts are actively engaging their creative minds. In conclusion, technology can serve as a powerful tool to foster creativity in children when used thoughtfully and in moderation. It opens up new avenues for expression and problem-solving, making it a valuable asset rather than a hindrance to creativity.3. Some people think that environmental problems are too big for individuals to solve, and that only governments and large companies can make a difference. To what extent do you agree or disagree?I disagree with the notion that individuals cannot make a difference in solving environmental problems. While government and large companies play significant roles, individual actions collectively have a substantial impact on the environment.Individuals can reduce their carbon footprint by conserving energy, using public transportation, and adopting sustainable practices in their daily lives. By making environmentally conscious choices, such as reducing plastic waste or conserving water, individuals contribute to positive environmental change.Furthermore, individual actions can influence governments and corporations. Grassroots movements and consumer demand for eco-friendly products have led to policy changes and increased corporate responsibility. For instance, the push for renewable energy sources and stricter environmental regulations has been driven, in part, by public awareness and advocacy. In conclusion, individuals have the power to make a difference in addressing environmental problems through their choices, actions, and influence on largerentities. While governments and corporations have a crucial role to play, individual efforts are integral to creating a sustainable future.4. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: It is important for governments to spend money on art such as music, painting, and dance?I strongly agree with the statement that it is important for governments to spend money on art. Art plays a vital role in society, fostering cultural enrichment, creativity, and social cohesion.Government investment in art supports cultural preservation and heritage. Museums, galleries, and cultural institutions receive funding to protect and showcase valuable artworks, preserving the cultural identity and history of a nation.Art also enhances creativity and innovation, benefiting society as a whole. Exposure to various forms of art, such as music, painting, and dance, stimulates creative thinking, problem-solving, and individual expression. This creativity can have positive impacts in fields beyond art, including science, technology, and business.Additionally, art contributes to social cohesion by providing a platform for shared experiences and expressions of diverse perspectives. Cultural events and artistic performances bring communities together, fostering a sense of unity and belonging. In conclusion, government investment in art is a wise allocation of resources that promotes cultural preservation, creativity, and social cohesion. It enriches society in ways that extend beyond the artistic realm.5. Some people believe that immigrants should adopt the culture of their new country, while others think they should maintain their own cultural traditions. Discuss both views and give your opinion. The question of whether immigrants should adopt the culture of their new country or maintain their own cultural traditions is a complex one, with valid arguments on both sides.Advocates for cultural assimilation argue that adopting the culture of the host country is essential for social cohesion and integration. They contend that shared values, language, and customs facilitate better communication and understanding among diverse communities. Cultural assimilation, they argue, helps immigrants become active and productive members of their new society. On the other hand, supporters of cultural preservation argue that maintaining one's cultural traditions is vital for preserving identity and diversity. They believe that a multicultural society is enriched by the contributions of various cultures and that immigrants should not be forced to abandon their heritage. Cultural preservation, they argue, can lead to a more vibrant and inclusive society. In my opinion, the ideal approach lies in a balance between assimilation and cultural preservation. Immigrants should have the freedom to choose which aspects of their cultural heritage they wish to maintain, while also respecting and adapting to the cultural norms and values of their new country. This balance allows for the coexistence of diverse cultures while fostering integration and understanding within the broader society.6. Some people believe that the government should promote a vegetarian diet to improve public health, while others think it should be a personal choice. Discuss both views and give your opinion. The promotion of a vegetarian diet by the government to improve public health is a topic of debate. Some argue that it should be a personal choice, while others believe in government intervention.Proponents of government promotion of a vegetarian diet argue that it can lead to better public health outcomes by reducing the consumption of meat, which is associated with various health risks. They contend that government campaigns can educate the public about the benefits of a vegetarian diet and provide incentives for healthier eating. On the other hand, advocates for personal choice argue that individuals should have the freedom to make their dietary decisions based on their preferences and beliefs. They believe that government should not interfere in matters of personal choice, including what people choose to eat.In my view, the government should play a role in promoting healthy dietary choices, but it should not mandate a vegetarian diet. Education and awareness campaigns can provide information about the health benefits of reducing meat consumption, but the ultimate decision should rest with individuals. Encouraging a balanced and informed approach to diet is key to improving public health.7. Some people argue that the death penalty should be abolished because it is inhumane, while others believe it serves as an effective deterrent for serious crimes. Discuss both views and give your opinion. The debate over the death penalty is a contentious one, with arguments on both sides regarding its humanity and effectiveness as a deterrent for serious crimes.Opponents of the death penalty argue that it is inhumane and violates the right to life. They contend that there is a risk of executing innocent individuals, and that the death penalty does not serve as an effective deterrent, as there is no conclusive evidence that it reduces serious crimes. On the other hand, proponents of the death penalty believe that it serves as a powerful deterrent for heinous crimes such as murder. They argue that it provides closure to victims' families and ensures that dangerous criminals do not have the opportunity to commit further crimes. In my opinion, the death penalty should be abolished. The potential for irreversible errors in judgment and the ethical concerns surrounding taking a human life outweigh any potential deterrent effect. Alternative forms of punishment, such as life imprisonment, can ensure public safety without resorting to state-sanctioned killing.8. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: All students should be required to study art and music in secondary school.I strongly agree with the statement that all students should be required to study art and music in secondary school. Art and music education offer numerous benefits that contribute to a well-rounded education and personal development.Firstly, art and music stimulate creativity and self-expression. They provide students with an outlet for their emotions and thoughts, fostering imagination and critical thinking. These skills are valuable in various aspects of life and can enhance problem-solving abilities.Secondly, art and music education promote cultural appreciation and awareness. They expose students to different artistic styles, historical periods, and culturaltraditions, fostering empathy and an understanding of diverse perspectives. This cultural awareness is essential in an increasingly globalized world.Furthermore, art and music can have a positive impact on emotional well-being. They provide avenues for stress relief and self-reflection, contributing to mental and emotional health. In conclusion, requiring students to study art and music in secondary school is essential for their holistic development. These subjects nurture creativity, cultural understanding, and emotional well-being, making them integral components of a comprehensive education.9. Some people believe that advancements in technology, such as the internet and smartphones, have made people more isolated and less sociable. Do you agree or disagree? The impact of advancements in technology, including the internet and smartphones, on social interactions is a matter of debate. Some argue that these technologies have made people more isolated and less sociable, while others disagree.I agree with the view that advancements in technology have had a mixed impact on social interactions. While they have created new forms of communication and connection, they have also brought challenges related to isolation and reducedface-to-face interaction.Technology, such as social media and instant messaging, enables people to stay in touch with friends and family, even across great distances. It can also facilitate the formation of online communities and support networks. However, the overuse of technology can lead to reduced physical interactions, as people spend more time on screens and less time engaging with others in person. Moreover, technology has changed the nature of social interactions. It can lead to shallow, online-only relationships, making it essential for individuals to strike a balance between virtual and real-world connections. In conclusion, while technology has the potential to enhance social interactions and connections, it also carries the risk of isolation when used excessively. It is crucial for individuals to use technology mindfully and prioritize in-person interactions to maintain healthy social relationships.10. Some people believe that individual actions, such as recycling and conserving energy, are not sufficient to address environmental problems. They argue that governments and large corporations must take the lead. To what extent do you agree or disagree?I believe that individual actions, such as recycling and conserving energy, are important but not sufficient on their own to address environmental problems. Governments and large corporations must also take a proactive role in environmental conservation.Individual actions, such as reducing waste and adopting sustainable practices, play a crucial role in raising environmental awareness and setting an example for others. However, the scale of environmental issues, such as climate change and habitat destruction, requires coordinated efforts at a larger scale.Governments have the power to implement policies and regulations that can significantly impact environmental conservation. They can establish emissions standards, invest in renewable energy sources, and protect natural habitats. Government actions can create a conducive environment for sustainable practices.Large corporations are major contributors to environmental issues, but they also have the resources and influence to make substantial changes. When corporationsadopt sustainable practices, reduce emissions, and prioritize eco-friendly products, they can have a significant positive impact on the environment. In conclusion, addressing environmental problems requires a multi-pronged approach. While individual actions are important, governments and large corporations must also take responsibility and lead the way in implementing sustainable practices and policies.。

托福高分范文大全(精选十五篇)托福高分范文大全(篇一)Talk about a book you have read that was important to you for some reason. Explain why the book was important to you. Give specific details and examples to explain your answerTPO1托福独立口语Task1满分范文:Recently, I read a book named Keep the aspidistra flying written by George Orwell. The book influences me a lot because the story has something that touches my heart. The story talks about a man who wants to be a poet and who abandons many well-paying jobs to pursue his dream of being a poet. I have a similar experience of quitting a very good job in order to be a writer. Also, the man in the story is lack of money because he works as a bookstore assistant and thus has a very low salary. He lives in a shabby apartment and sometimes have no money to bu y food. Again, I’ve got similar experience. I once lived in a cramped apartment alone and had no money. The book is important to me because it touches me and gives me encouragement to persist.托福高分范文大全(篇二)For teenagers aged between 15 to 18, what is the most important to the teacher?1)the ability to help students plan for future2)the ability to recognize which student needs help and offerthat help3)the ability to encourage students to learn on their own outside of the classroom托福写作三选一类范文Secondary education can be one of the most formative experiencesin a person’s life. What qualities make a good high school teacher? People might go for abilities like helping with future planning or encouraging academic autonomy. I, however, believe that the most important factor is the ability to recognize students in need and the willingness to lend a hand. The first beneficiary is underachievers. More often than not, students who fall behind suffer from a low self-esteem. It is especially true for teenagers who find it a disgrace to lose face in front of their peers. In this case, they would stay under the radar and try to bury their problems in the dark. Nobody would even notice, not to mention offering any help. However, a teacher with a perceptive mind can discover the problem before it gets worse, sothat the troubled kid could get proper help. Let’s say a boy whose parents are going through a nasty divorce may show up late at school or miss the deadline for science projects. If the teacher can spot his recent anomaly and reaches out to him, the boy might open up and confide to the teacher. This is the first step on the road to recovery and an attentive teacher makes all the difference. Moreover, this valuable quality would rub off on students as well. Instead of lecturing them about helping others, teachers set a better example by practicing what they preach. Seeing the teacher shows compassion and kindness to a kid from disadvantaged background, children are more likely to follow suit and learn to empathize. In contrast, if the teacher is always aloof, school bullies will then pick on the troubled kid. It is because when teachers don’t even bother to care, kids would pick up a wrong message that being indifferent is the best policy. What would them turn into when reaching adulthood? Self-centered. Or even worse, mean and bitter. Soit takes a sharp mind to spot trouble and a warm heart to getchildren out of.Sure, it is not to say other qualities are trivial. Future career planning offers students some insight into job prospects and college majors. And students would better adjust to college life if they are trained to learn on their own outside of the classroom. But I wouldn’t say such qualities assume more power th an an empathetic heart. Why? High schoolers aged 15 to 18 have very vague ideas about their interests and aspiration. That’s why people even take a gap year to figure it out. So why bother planning in such early stage of life while so much remains uncovered and unexplored? As for theability to encourage learning autonomy, let’s face it, children have been doing this all the time! Since the advent of Internet, children have been drawn to a variety of search engines and websites, which stimulate self-governed learning in a way no teacher can possibly compare to. But the ability to relate to troubled students and lead them out of the woods is in high demand and cannot be replaced. To sum up, to benefit high school students to a greater extent, the teacher s have to be able to recognize what’s going wrong and what can be done to make it right. Other characters can be good to have, but also fine to live without.托福高分范文大全(篇三)If a large factory is going to be built near your community, isit good or bad? It’s a quite difficult question to answer. Because there are many aspects to take into your consideration, the advantages and the disadvantages. Let’s talk about that.First, a large factory, especially a large chemical factory is quite harmful to our environment when it is built near our community. It will affect our daily life a lot. All the chemical factories will produce a lot of waste and most of the wastes are harmful to the environment, including poisonous gas and liquid. Some of them can not be entirely broken down. If they are released into the air or the river, it will affect our health. And also the factory may produce a lot of noise. The environment we want to live in is a quiet and peaceful one, so the noise will be quite boring. And yes, noise also affects our health.Still one thing, a factory can be very dangerous. Because a fire or a explosion may break out in the factory. If it’s very near our home, it’s quite dangerous. But in other hand , a factory may be a good news to us. It can provide more jobs for us, especially for the young people in our community. Since the factory is near, it’s so convenient to go to work.. and the factory will get more chances to our area. It will help to develop our area. So if the factory can bring us a lot of chances, we will agree to build one. But the most important things are:1. Build the factory in a safe distance from our community, not too near.2. Make sure that the factory can deal with the waste properly. Do not release the poisonous gasinto the air, and not release the waste water into the river nearby.3. Make sure the security guard in the factory works very well. I support the idea that a factory to be built near our community.I list my reasons as follows. Firstly, a new factory near ourcommunity helps to improve living standard of people in our community. The factory will employ a lot of workers. As a consequence, the unemployment rate will drop significantly. Many people in our community will find a job in the factory. As people's income increases, they will be able to spend more money on their food, clothing and leisure time, and the quality of life will be increased.Secondly, a new factory will bring prosperity to our community. The tax collected from a factory is an important source of revenuefor our town. As people have higher income, income tax collected will also be increased. The town will be able to spend more money on infrastructures and other development. Moreover, in order to accommodate more workers, more homes and stores will be needed. This will boost real estate development in our community. Some people say that a factory would bring smog and pollution, and destroy the quality of the air and water in town. This is not the truth. Modern technologies have made today's factories technology intensive and brought pollutions to the minimum. There are also worries that the social structure of this community will be changed and the traditional life will be affected. We should understand that society needs to evolve and we cannot always stay in the old time. Of course, there will be some drawbacks of building a new factory here. But in my opinion, the benefits outweigh the dangers. Istrongly support to build a factory here, and hope that others feel the same way.托福高分范文大全(篇四)It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Do you agree ordisagree? Use specific reasons and examplesto develop your essay. With the development of the transportation system and some residence institution, the world isgetting smaller and smaller, and people are not restricted in only one area. In addition to theconvenient condition, because there are different places with different cultures, living standards, education environment and other disparity, they are inclined to transfer from one place to theother. Is it better to move around than stay in one place? I believe there are no uniform answers, but in my opinion, I do agree with the claim that to move around is better than to stay in oneplace. Most people’s growth comes with the transfers in their life. As for me, when I was young I lived ina small county. Because the school in there was not suitable to me, I transferred from my littlecounty to a city to get a better education. As soon as I got to the city, I was amazed that the worldhere was so different here as myhometown .If I still lived in my hometown, it was impossible forme to make the wildest guess at what the real world looked like. The first transfer has made me toimagine my own life and spur on me to go further. With the confidence, I went into a universitywhich I would never think of it before. The university is located in a different city so that I haveto come into another world. Compared with myliving city, the one is more complicated in whichthere are different people, more convenient transportation, more competitive environment.I loveall of this very much. Communicating with different students and teachers, I have learned muchfrom them which will benefit me throughout my life and my lifestyle. Now I am in a graduateschool also so beautiful that I will never regret my selection of leaving myhometown because thetransfer has given me a splendid life. Also, like we students, there are many adults transferring their work place in order to grasp betteropportunities. No matter in industry, in agriculture or in service, workers have rights to choosetheir work companies which leads them to work from place to place and then they accumulateprecious experience and skills to get priorities to others.People not only transfer in their own country, but also go abroad to get education, work or livethrough the rest of their life in appropriate countries. We can see that many students including mewant to go to the foreign countries to study further and forge ourselves, and that many parentssend their little sons or daughters to foreign countries to study. After all, diverse circumstancesgive persons new experience and broaden their narrow sight, even help them get morecomprehensive understanding of the world, the society and ourlife itself. However, some people may say that if people move around, theywill pay for much such asmoney, time and energy. It is right to say that it takes one person some time to get used to his orher new environment, new personal relationship which indeed influences the growth of children, the efficiency of our work and the stability of our society and family. And I have to admit thatpeople should make considerate plans before changing their places and may not transfer aimlesslyand frequently. But I think sometimes it is just all the friction that has made the world wealthierand more beautiful. Therefore, I still think it is better to travel around than to live in one place.

People may look for honesty, altruism, understanding, loyalty, being thoughtful etc! Everyonewould more or less wish that the person s/he isdealing with, has some of these virtues above.Putting them in an order according to their importance, however can be very subjective and relative. When someone asks him/herself the question “What do Iconsider to be the most important thing in my relationship”the answerdepends on a lot of factors such as how his/her earlier relationships were. After stating that everyone’s opinioncan be different about this, for me honesty, in other words, always telling thetruth is the most important consideration in a relationship. Opposite of thisis inarguably lying and if someone needs to lie, either s/he is hidingsomething or is afraid of telling me something. In any relationship of mine, I would wish that first of all, the person I’m dealing with is honest. Even though s/he thinks thats/he didsomething wrong that I wouldn’t like, s/he’d better tell me the truth and notlie about it. Later on if I find out about a lie or hear the truth from someoneelse, that’d be much more unpleasant. In that case how can I ever believe ortrust that person again How can I ever believe that this person has enoughconfidence in me to forgive him/her and carry on with the relationship fromthere. So if I cannot trust a person any more, if the person doesn’t think Ican handle the truth, there’s no point to continuing that relationship.Although I would like to see altruistic, understanding, thoughtful and loyal behavior from people, an instance of the opposite of these behaviorswould not upset me as much as dishonesty would. Therefore honesty would be my first concern and themost important consideration in a relationship. The lecture and the listening have different ideOffering employees the option of a four-day workweek won’t affect the company profits, economic conditions or the lives of employees in the ways the reading suggests.First, offering a four-day workweek will probably force companies to spend more, possibly a lot more.Adding new workers means putting much more money into providing training and medical benefits.Remember the costs of things like health benefits can be the same whether an employee works four days or five. And having more employees also requires more office space and more computers. These additional costs would quickly cut into company profits.Second, with respect to overall employment,it doesn’t follow that once some employees choose a four-day workweek, many more jobs will become available.Hiring new workers is costly,as I argued a moment ago.And companies have other options. They might just choose to ask their employees to work overtime to make up thedifference.Worse, companies might raise expectations. They might start to expect that their four-day employees can do the same amount of work they used to do in five days.If this happens, then no additional jobs will be created and current jobs will become more unpleasant. Finally, while a four-day workweek offers employees more free time to invest in their personal lives,it also presents some risks that could end up reducing their quality of life.Working a shorter week can decrease employees’ job stability and harm their chances for advancing their careers.Four-day employees are likely to be the first to lose their jobs during an economic downturn. They may also be passed over for promotions because companies might prefer to havefive-day employees in management positions to ensure continuous coverage and consistent supervision for the entire workweek. Depending on personal experience, personality type and emotional concern, we find that some people hold the idea of A meanwhile othersprefer to B, from my point of view, it is more advisable to chose A rather than B. He says that the theory stated in the passage was verydifferent and somewhat inaccurate when compared to what happened in reality.First Point of Contrast First, some members got free rides. That is, some didn’t work hard but got recognition for the success nonetheless. This also indicates that people who hard were not given recognition they should have gotten. In other words, weren’t given the opportunity to “shine”. This directly contradicts what th e passage indicates.Second Point of Contrast Second, groups were slow in progress. The passage says that groups are more responsive than individuals because of the number of people involved and aggregated resources. However, the speaker talks about how the firm found that groups were slower than individuals in decision making. Groups needed time for meetings, which are necessary procedures in decision making. This is another place where experience contradicted theory.Third Point of Contrast Third, influential people might emerge and lead the group towards glory If the influent people are going in the right direction there would be no problem. But in cases where they go in the wrong direction, there is nobody that has influence to counter the decision made. In other words, the group might turn dictatorship, with the influential party as the leader, and might become less inits thinking. They might become one-sided, and thus fail to succeed. Introduction-Relationship between reading and lecture The lecturer talks about the natural process of crystallization and how the speed of cooling can influence such process, which is proved by Bowen’scrystallization experiment explained in the reading passage.Points in the lecture Natural crystallization happens when magma, which is extremely hot in its molten form deep in the earth, gradually cools off when it moves towards the surface of the earth. During the cooling process, the energy from heat is lost, and the atoms which compose the magma begin to move more slowly, forming into an orderly pattern, which turns the magma into a solid crystal structure. However, if the cooling process takes place too rapidly, then there is not enough time for the atoms to be arranged into such an orderly pattern. Therefore, crystallization can’t take place. Instead, a brittle, glass-like material will form.Points in the Reading Norman Bowen’s experiment in the 1920sproved this theory. By collecting and melting elements in rocks, Norman created artificial magma in his laboratory. He first cooledthe magma slowly, as in the natural crystallization process, and got mineral crystals. But then he suddenly replaced this normal cooling with rapid freezing, and found frozen glass materials surrounding the solid crystal structure. 附:新托福综合写作sample answer 两篇,针对的是同一个考题,第一篇用的是“点对点”结构,第二篇用的是“面对面”的结构._______________________________________________________祝你成功啦!

The reading and listening discuss about prescribed burning. The reading points out three disadvantages of prescribed burning. Whereas, the professor totally refutes the three points presented in the passage.Firstly, the professor rebuts the reading’s first point that the wildlife will be negatively affected, especially those which are young and probably unable to escape. The professor claims that people will choose to conduct the prescribed burning in some special period. And during these periods animals do not reproduce. Without junior animals, the adult animals will be able to flee easily.Secondly, the professor contradicts reading’s second reason that there’s carbon dioxide in the smoke released during the burring process. And the CO2 will aggravate pollution and green house effect. The professor mentions that the process of growing the plants counteracts this release of carbon dioxide. Besides, the place for prescribed burning is small, and the process emits small amount of smog, which will actually be absorbed soon.At last, the passage points out prescribed burning has nothing to do with preventing forest fires in some places, thus there’s no need to spend money and energy on prescribed burning. However, the professor explains that tt’s t rue that this way can not prevent another forest fire happening, but that’s because of people’s carelessness. Prescribed burnings are used to eliminate flammable substances, like branches. And even in the areas where the natural fire often happens, the fir e can be controlled and put out easily, for there’s no combustion improver nearby. It is generally agreed that the society benefits from the work of its members. Which type of contribution do you think is most valued by your society: primary school teachers, artists or nurses? Why? Even though artists and nurses are also very important, I still believe primary school teachers are most valued by our society.First, because these teachers enjoy the highest status. They have had the largest wage increase these years and are respected by people from all walks of life since everyone needs to send their children to school for education. And people are proud to be a teacher.Second, the contribution of these teachers cannot be replaced. As we all know, pupils are still too young to have any self-discipline and their parents are always busy with work, having no time to take care of them. So kids are in great needs of the supervision and guidance from teachers. Even though artists and nurses are also very important, I still believe primary school teachers are most valued by our society.First, because these teachers enjoy the highest status. It is interesting to see everything floating in the air. And the term “in the air” should also be modified simply because there is no air anyway. It is interesting to walk the distance in a whole new style. And it is interesting to see the mother planet from a whole new angle. This big blue crystal sphere, from the pictures taken by those astronauts, the sight is marvelous. And I am dying to see this big blue ball in this style. I want to read biography books, because although we’d love to say that the society is changing and developing, human nature never changes much. And the biography books help me understand the nature behind the more visible events. I may encounter the same problems in the future and I’d like to know how others deal with them. And everyone is trying to present a more glamorous version of the self and it creates lots of illusions. Biography is a kind of way to break down these illusions and offers the truth about humanity. It helps me to become a more successful person. When I was selecting which university and which major to take after I graduated from the high school, the internet gave me a lot of useful information about the future of some of my prospective professions. I even talked with several people in those particular professions and got their opinions about it. And I think it is really helpful. And this kind of ability cannot be taught by any teacher or be acquired through practicing. The second one is the talent to realize the mission of being an artist cause artists are not just interested in arts, but determined to devote themselves to this career. For example, a 4-year-old artist, Aelita, said she’s going to paint for 24 hours. This is not something her parents told her, but an innate desire. Well, I believe one can never be a real artist without some talents. The first one is the talent to be creative because artists cannot just copy others\' works but have to create their own ones.

11、What do you want most in a friend?12、Should traditional examination be abolished?13、Will you prefer to live in a small town or in a big city?14、Reading fiction is more enjoyable than watching movies15、Why do you think movies are so popular16、Study alone or with a group, which do you prefer17、Why do you think some students study abroad18、What do you think make people live longer now19、Do you agree that there is nothing that young people can teach older people20、Do you agree that only people who earn a lot of money are successfulEssay 11What do you want most in a friend?Everyone needs friends in the whole life. What we want in a friend differs from person to person, some people want intelligence so that they can help them, some people want s sense of humor so that they can make them happy, and some people just want their friends to be reliable so that they won’t betray them. But as far as I am concerned, I just want my friends to be honest.I regard honesty as an important element when choosing a friend because I think honesty is the basic character of a person. One of the reasons why we make friends with others is that we need someone to share our happiness and sorrows, and to help us get through the tough time together. Just assume that a person you are associating with is a dishonest guy who is always telling lies, would you like to trust him and talk about your feelings with him? The answer is absolutely “no”.Maybe some person will argue that almost everyone has told lies in their lives, so if I insist to make friends with purely honest guys, the result may be that I keep alone the whole life long without even one friend. One thing I want to clarify is that what I am talking about honesty is not a kind of thing which is rigid and remorseless, the real personality I like to purse is frankness. We can make mistakes or tell lies, but we must have the courage to face them and confess them. And I do know that sometimes we have to tell lies because we do not want to make others feel upset, in this case, telling a well-meaning lie is necessary. We all know the old saying that “a clear stream is avoided by fish”, which means that if a person is too honest; he or she may be rejected by others. But what I want to say is that if the stream is too dirty, fish can also not live in it. So I want my friends to be honest and I will keep honest to them, too. If everyone can keep an honest and pure heart when making friends, maybe our life will be easier without the labor to distinguishing lies and truth.Should traditional examination be abolished? At the end of the semester, many students are busy preparing for the final examination. They have to stop entertainment activities and throw themselves into the endless exercises, so some students argue that the traditional examination should be abolished. But others may don’t think so, for them examination is an efficient way to force them to study better. As far as I am concerned, I do not think traditional examination should be abolished.I believe that many students around us have the experience that they enjoy rich kinds of club activities at the beginning of every semester, and separate out few time for study from their part time. And then, there comes the end of the semester and the final examination, they have to tell themselves that it is time to study hard to pass the test. Although this is not the correct motivation and attitude to study, they do learn harder owing to the pressure of the examination.Besides, traditional examination is an efficient way for us to check out if we have acquired the knowledge we need for further study. We can set a goal of the grade level and then work hard to accomplish it, this process will make us learn steadfastly and bring us s sense of achievement. We can assume that you just bury yourselves into the sea of knowledge then learn and learn, and spend a lot of time but with no sense of whether you have achieved what you have to grasp. How about your feeling then? Maybe you can insist for a while, but must lose interest after a long-time aimless study. Some students may complain that traditional examinations are often boring and rigid, we can introduce the way of handing in a report or paper to solve this problem according to the character of the subject. However, there is no need to abolish the traditional examination, what we need to do is to take good advantage of it and combine it with the pattern of paper together to make students study better. Will you prefer to live in a small town or in a big city? When the graduation season comes, many graduated students have to face the problem of seeking a job and choosing a place to start a new period of life there. Some people prefer to live and work in big cities, because the transportation and communication conditions there are more convenient and available. But as far as I am concerned, living in a small town is more appealing to me.When it comes to choosing a desirable place to live in, the most important thing I will take into consideration is the environmental quality. It is obvious that the natural circumstance in a small town is superior to that in a big city, for there is less noise and industrial pollution there. You can imagine that you were living in a small town with beautiful natural scenery, and you could breathe in the fresh air every day without worrying about the quality of it; you can walking along the quite and uncrowded street without concerning with too much waste gas from the cars. And you can enjoy your life more when you are far away from the noisy city there. What a cozy life, isn’t it?What is more, living in a small town brings less pressure. Examples are everywhere that people have the same amount of salary may have different levels of life quality because of their living circumstance. Prices of commodities in big cities are much higher, especially the housing price. The mount of money which you can use to buy a big house in a small town can not even buy a toilet in a big city such as Beijing. Thus would certainly lead to much more living and social pressure, which may have passive effects on our life and health.Maybe some people are still addicted to the convenience and glory of living in a big city. However, considering both the social pressure and the living quality, why do we need to sacrifice the real life quality to the external glory and proud by living in big cities?Reading fiction is more enjoyable than watching moviesStories are everywhere in this world which are composed by writers and made into movies or teleplays. Some people prefer to read the original fictions other than watch movies because they are authentic, while others may choose to watch the film and television works because they are vivid. In my opinion, I strongly agree with the former ones for the following reasons. As far as I am concerned, fictions are more authentic and they give us the imagine space. For example, when you read about the sentence “they came to a beautiful place ”,you can imagine a place or two that you think is suitable for the story, but you can only accept the place you see on the screen when watching movies. That is to say, you can “direct” the fictions you are reading in the way you like when reading, but you only have the right to accept what you are seeing when watching movies. It is obvious that the former one is more attracting. What is more, I do not think movies can always express what the original fictions want to tell. I used to have the experience that I watched the movies or televisions which was based on the fictions I liked, and felt totally disappointed, for the movies couldn’t express the internal meaning of the story sometimes even misunderstand the writer's intention. Maybe it is because the directors have to consider how to meet the audience’s expectations and how to make the movies popular to earn more money, thus sometimes just make the composition a mass compared with the original fictions. So I prefer to read the original fictions first when a popular media work comes out, although the movies or teleplay seem to be more vivid and picturesque. But if you are a person who just want visual enjoyment and don’t have enough time for reading, you can still choose movies, for reading is really a time-consuming task. Why do you think movies are so popular?Countless movie compositions are coming to us because there comes the Spring Festival again. Every time when an important festival comes, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a visual feast, when movies of different themes emerge to us for appreciation. But have you ever think about the question that why movies are so popular? In my opinion, the first reason which makes movies so popular is that they provide an important way for us to relax. Nowadays, people have more pressure from life and work than the past, and they have to keep nervous when they are working or communicating with their colleagues. When they get back from the heavy work, they feel tired and need a way to release their pressure. Watching a movie is a good choice, for you just need to sit in your cozy sofa or in the cinema, then you can enjoy a beautiful story while having a cup of coffee or tea at the same time. Which is comfortable and relaxed, isn’t it?Maybe someone would come up with the idea that you can just do some readings at home instead of watching movies in the cinema, it is much more quite and cozy. But what I want to say is that, reading is wonderful but is also time-consuming. If you want to get something from a story, you can choose seeing the movie based on it, which could help you save time for other important things, and serve you a visual feast at the same time, for most movies are well-made and the frames are delicate and beautiful.According to all the reasons I have stated above, it is not difficult for us to draw the conclusion that it is the relaxing effect and time-saving character that make the movies popular. Maybe you can find more advantages of them if we can spend time watching more well-directed movies.Study alone or with a group, which do you prefer? As college students, the most important task for us is study. When talking about study patterns, some students would like to study alone, while others may prefer to study with a group of students. As far as I am concerned, I prefer studying alone for the following reasons. In my opinion, study is a personal thing in some extent; you can not rely on others when you want to learn something. That is to say, what you need to learn can only be acquired by yourself, and no one else can study for you. So the ability to study alone is an important character for our career of knowledge. Some students may argue that, we can learn more with a group through communicating with other members in the group. I do confess the beneficial part of group-studying, but we must not ignore the fact that learning together may keep us from thinking about the problem independently. Sometimes others may put forward the main point before we can think it over by ourselves, which may be a disturbance to our study. But when we study alone, this problem does exist, we can practice the ability of thinking about and solving problems independently, which will have positive effects on our study. What is more, there comes the problem of time coordination problem when we choose to study together. I believe that many students usually have their own plans for study, so if we study with a group, we may have to change our original plans to meet the group’s need, which sometimes may cause headache. But this problem would not exist if we just study alone.Based on all the reasons I have stated above, although studying with a group may make problems solved more quickly, studying alone is still superior to it considering the intention to improve the ability of dealing with problems independently. So I prefer to study alone rather than with a group. Why do you think some students study abroad? When we graduate from the college, the most important problem we must face up to is choosing a way out. Some of us choose to continue studying for a higher degree; some of us choose to seek a job; while others choose to study abroad. In my opinion, studying abroad may have the following benefits.First of all, we can have access to the most advanced international technological resources, if we study abroad in the western developed countries. As we all know, the development of science and technology is much more advanced in the western countries, we can learn the newest study results and master the advanced techniquesto build our own country better.Secondly, studying abroad can expend our personal horizons, we can experience lives in different countries and appreciate the special beauty of different cultures. We can also travel around the country we are studying in and talk with people from different places to enrich our experience. These experiences can also train our ability to live on our own and to take good care of ourselves, which will means much in our future life.Besides, it is an efficient way for us to grasp a language if we choose to study abroad, for the most important progress of learning a language is to use it to communicate with others. So if we can study and live in a place where all people talk in a foreign language, we will have to use the same language to deal with the daily life, thus will certainly contribute to the improvement of our language study.Considering about whether the rich technological and scientific resources or the convenient circumstance for language study, or the perfect chance to expend our horizons, it is really a good choice to study abroad, isn’t it? But what we must also take into account is that studying abroad is very expensive and living in a totally different country is not that easy. So we must think about both the advantages and disadvantages, and then make a balance to make a wise decision. What do you think make people live longer now?According to a research done recently, people can live longer than the past. Compared with the average lifetime in the Tang Dynasty, people now can live almost twice longer. What make people live so long in modern society? My opinions are as follows. The first reason I want to put forward is that the medical conditions are much better than the past. We can see from stories or movies about the past that even a little disease such as cold could take away a person’s life because of the lack of basic medical care and efficient methods for treatment. But nowadays, even cancers can be cured with the advanced medical equipments and the excellent medical skills. Thus could keep people away from little diseases to make them live longer.Besides, the rapid development of economics is another reason that helps people to live longer. In the old days, the shortage of food and other commodities could be seen everywhere; people just ate what they had to resist the sense of hungry and covered themselves with thin clothes to keep warm; sometimes they had to suffer cold and hungry for the lack of money, their bodies became worse day by day under this situation, so they died at a young age such as twenty or thirty years old. But in modern society, the material sources are not problems any more because of the development of industry. People can eat what their bodies really need to keep healthy, and they can stay in the cozy houses to keep warm, all these convenient conditions make them enjoy their lives for longer time. What is more, many people have the sense of health today. They can have sports or do something for entertainment to relax themselves from the pressure of work and life, and they know at lease one way or two to keep themselves in good condition. That is to say, they know more about life and they know how to live better. In a word, thanks to the well-developed economy and society, we have a better medical environment and material resources to live longer.Do you agree that there is nothing that young people can teach older people? There is an old saying in China that “even the salt older people have eaten are much more than the way young people have walked.” which means that older people are wiser than young people in many aspects. I do confess the fact that older people have more experience of life than the young, but I disagree with the statement that there is nothing that young people can teach older people. As another old saying goes “there must be at least one person who has something can teach me among every three people”, which means that everyone has his own advantages regardless of their age, so we can learn different things from different people to improve ourselves. That is to say, there are also advantages of young people that can help the older ones.It is obvious that young people are always leading the most fashionable tendency; they have access to the most advanced technology and have strong desire to learn new things, which is difficult for the older people to learn and understand and is also the field that young people can teach the older ones. For example, an old writer I met yesterday, who is used to writing by hand, has problems in typing his words to the electronic pattern as the publishing company asks. But his grandson, who is only a high school student, is good at using a computer. So the old writer asks his grandson for help, and finally solves his problem and hand in the work in time. What we can see from this case is that when it comes to the problem of new techniques, young people have too much that can teach the older ones.In a word, although older people have more experience of life and they have gained much more wisdom from their passing time, there is always something that young people can teach them. What I think is the most important point is that we must ignore the bias of age, and learn from each other to make progress together.Essay 20Do you agree that only people who earn a lot of money are successful?Economy and material is developing rapidly in recent years, and people work hard to pursue money, fame, right or other things that they think may prove that they are successful. But is it true that only people who earn a lot of money are successful? I do not think so.Firstly, I do not agree with the statement that people who earn a lot of money can always be definite as successful; there are other things that are important to us, such as relatives; friendship; honesty and so on. You can consume that there is a person who has earned a lot of money, but he has abandoned his family, betrayed his friends and cheated others as a sacrifice to achieve his goal for money, can you still consider him as successful? So earning a lot of money does not always make a person successful.Besides, you can not regard a person as unsuccessful just because of his shortage of money. Take the famous painter Vincent Willem van Gogh, who we are all familiar with, for example, he was a person who engaged his whole life in composing pictures, but was very poor all his life long. However, he always kept his belief to explore the way of waking up the conscience of human beings to make the world better, even when he was in the worst condition. We all regard him as a successful person for his masterpieces and his insistence for dream although he didn’t have a lot of money.According to the points I have stated above, the ability to make money can not always express one’s success, and making money is not the only way to make people successful, sometimes even a poor man can be regarded as successful if he could insist his dream and always do good things for the whole society. After all, dream is the something that makes us different and encourages us to achieve the successful destiny, isn’t it?。
