5. Starting of Squirrel Cage Induction Motor Careful starting temperature rise and stress calculation is carried out when the motor is being designed to prevent premature due to heavier load at starting of the motor. The user of motor is requested to check the motor terminal voltage before starting, not lower than 85% rated voltage. Motor shall be allowed to be started twice at cold state under above mentioned condition, or once at hot state. Motor shall be allowed a free run off before further starting. Extra starting shall be effected after motor is cooled down, about four hours. In case motor is necessary to be started more frequently, or with load, discussion with manufacturer maybe requested. Special design, if necessary, will be made to ensure the reliable operation of motor. 6. 1 .Description YKK series high voltage three-phase asynchronous motors(shaft center height 450-630mm) are our new products developed in the 1990's. They are the optimized series established on the basis of our more than 50 years experience of designing and manufacturing three phase high voltage asynchronous motors and the technology introduced from ABB for the above mentioned type of motors, for upgrading the old JO Series. These series motors adops fine materials, excellent workmanship and features low operation cost, low noise, low vibration, high reliablity and covenience for installation and maintenance. Power rating, installation dimension, electrical performance of the motor is in conformity with Chinese National Standard GB755 “Rotating Electrical Machines-Rating and Performance” and relevant International Electrotechnical Commission IEC Standard.
